ok, did a bit of a number crunch on VGDD2.2,565 (+46~) D-series Cards and 488 (+68~) Vintage Cards.the "(+#~)" is a separate approximation for promos and extra unique cards for both formats.
Me and my friends are wanting to start collecting tcg. I want to get into one of the non big 3 ones. Out of these three, which do you find the most fun? Weiss Schwartz, Cardfight, and (I know it's not this thread) digimon?

>>93979269I always have a soft soft in my heart for Vanguard cause its the only TCG I've played where your boss monster is your actual boss card. Other games you play your boss monster and either have to keep it alive through backrow cards or omni-negates etc.In Vanguard your boss monster is (you) so it only dies when you die. Thats why decks are generally named after their boss monster vs the archetype, since thats how its designed. Although other card games do sometimes name their decks after their main boss, they have to run 4x copies and ways to tutor them usually. In Vanguard you have a thing called your ride deck, which is kind of like the yugioh extra deck, so you always have your boss monster ready for the turn you can play it. Overall I think its just a very comfy experience. If you can you could try Dear Days to see if you like the game, its a video game version of Vanguard in the style of old yugioh games where its all paid for, + story mode and online. please be 100% honest with me. is vanguard fun if you don't update decks at all? i like "dead" formats in TCGs and i hate keeping up with metas and being forced to drop cards i like in favor of whatever is mechanically better, so i was thinking of trying the G format or whatever it was called, like the one right before the first reboot i think. i heard positive things about it but there isn't a lot of discussion on it from after it officially died. i did watch some gameplay videos from this era, but i couldn't find any talk on whether or not the format stays fun in a vacuum for any real amount of timefinding games is a nonissue for me

You (and if you can gather up a group) can always just ban some of the "No Fun Allowed" decks in those formats
