Kennedy braves and prevails against zombies/mind-controlled monsters/whatever equivalent.Delta Green shows up and decides to take him in, much like how the government in the Biohazard franchise did. What federal agency does Delta Green slide Kennedy into for his regular work? What kind of spook does Kennedy become for his day job?In Biohazard lore, he gets training and works with SOCOM for a while until the Division of Security Operations is formed. What would be the near equivalent of that IRL that DG would have Kennedy work at?
>>94383776I told you back on /k/.
>>94383859I wanted another opinion.
>>94378998There are many ways to get information like you said. Hell, the tip of the iceberg is using cell towers to triangulate the location of phones. There are all sorts of ways you can get information Shit if they aren't running fiber optics you can even use vampire taps to gain access to a network. You just gotta be creative and do a little homework

>>94377926A huntsman spider is in my house again and it made me think wonder if a giant spider with obfuscation powers That mainly eats other fell spirits and hostile night creatures running away when regular people spot it Would make for a good monster that gives the players spooks but upon careful observation it ultimately nonhostile Thinking of calling such things spirit eaters

>>94383776>What would be the near equivalent of that IRL that DG would have Kennedy work at?The answer is there isn't any and Leon is basically just Resident Evil James Bond. That being said given his background he would probably be plopped at the FBI.
So how easy is it replace the Gumshoe system with BRP in the Fall of Delta Green
>>94388846Just use the CoC stats for all the critters that show up.
I wanted to do a short PIECES game for my delta green group as a player will be away for the weekend. I tell them some PIECES lore and now they really really wanna do a bug hunt. Like I've never seen a group of grown men so hype to hunt some brain bugs. So uhhh any bug hunt suggestions?
>>94393428Start 'em already fucked. Their Pisces handler-equivalent? Bug-controlled. Sends the player to kick the hovel of an injured Migo or something
Recently ran The Last Equation for a group of new players and absolutely loved it. Now I'm looking for similar missions to run without a clear big bad to shoot. Anyone know any less or even 0 combat missions I could run?

Never DM'd, but Mothership looks really nice. Do any of you have DM advice specific to that game? Advice in general? I'm new to TTRPGs so I should probably give it a few more games, but my group was asking for new systems and new DMs, and when I saw it earlier today I felt in my bones I was destined to DM it.
Gonna start working on my version of a mythos tarot deck, wanna do the associations first before doing art. Only doing major arcana for now. I know there are a bunch out already but i'm mainly doing this for fun. Gonna have to read some stuff. If you guys have any suggestions you can tell me.

>>94397993Castlevania is literally Gothic horror. By definition even.

>>94383776Ackshually he was STRATCOM not SOCOM.>What would be the near equivalent of that IRL that DG would have Kennedy work at?There isn't really one, the DSO is pretty goofy. For the kind of flexibility shown they'd probably have him on the books as a contractor doing OGA stuff, maybe through a full-on shell company like Air America and the extraordinary rendition companies.
>>94399118No and that has nothing to do with Castlevania or Gothic horror aesthetics. Stop being retarded.
>>94397993I mean, if you’re trying to do a horror-based DnD adventure or something like that, Castlevania is a good place of inspiration. Plus, its bestiary is good to pull ideas from for monsters, even in more straightforward horror games.
I am trying to think of a name for an evil AI that runs military equipment, and I'm running into a hurdle. All the current nefarious tech projects are named after LOTR things or random mythological creatures. PEGASUS or MAIA just don't feel very sci-fi horror, but they're the most realistic names for that sort of stuff now. Then again I don't suppose SKYNET sounded omnious before terminator.
>>94402914The only saving grace is that Maia is also a girl's name,
>>94402914make it a corny backronym for extra authenticity
>>94404096Modular Artifically intelligent Administrator, it means nothing and spells out something from LOTR. Perfect for a public-private military program.
>>94402914SANGUINE or INCUBO (the latter is the Italian word for "nightmare").
>>94402914>name for an evil AI that runs military equipmentIs the AI intended to run that equipment? >>94377926I'm thinking about GMing an Unknown Armies oneshot. I'll be a horror story, with a creepy moth creature and a blood ritual to escape. I've never player UA, much less in those terms. Any tips worth sharing? The characters will be street-level dudes, in an isolated creepy island.
>>94408352Any tips for the GMs in the audience? Also good job killing kids, etc.
>>94412734>Any tips for the GMs in the audience? Sure, Uncle Sam makes a bevy of tools for getting into networks and devices and most at this point are handheld, if not easily portable in a car. I'm not going to go into particulars for obvious reasons. Just look up a bit of cell and RF theory.>Also good job killing kids, etc.No one outside of America is a person. >>94395679The term DM is only used in D&D, would recommend that u use GM instead.Generally advice is to reed some of the pdf that has been passed around for some time in how to run and what to focus on as the GM for horror games. >>94412083If it's 2E I can help a bit even if it's been a while. The system is so open it's really hard to mess up honestly, just remember how fatal combat is so if it's time to throw down make sure it's a moment where they can really do it or make sure there's a way for either party to reasonably escape. I never played 3E nor did I particularly feel the draw to it.
>>94395700The Moon or High Priestess should be BastI feel like Hierophant would actually fit Cthulhus role better to be honestThe Star should be Hastur, what with Aldrebran and all that. The Chariot would be Nodens with his great clam shell, I think. Lovers would definitely be Mother Hydra and Father Dragon entwined Honestly it's difficult to avoid temptation and just slot in masks Nyarlathotep but a Major Arcana made up of all his masks would be a neat project in and of itself.
>>94422882For Hastur I wanted to use his King in Yellow image that's why i stuck with the emperor but I'll think about it, for the rest i totally agree with what you said, I didnt even think of using Elder Ones, wanted to stick to Outer Ones/Great Old Ones. >>94429931a horrible weird semi-understandable alien problem that can be solved with great sacrifice but that afters its completion a far great threat is revealed that humanity has no hopes of defeating.Sent to investigate/put down a cult v cult war occurring in the middle east, zorastrian sun worshippers vs some ancient moon cult. Their rituals have started to noticeably affect the day and night of the local area and you need your team needs to stamp it out now. Get there and realize the roots of this problem are dug in further than intel originally suggested. Maybe making it align with an eclipse/equinox is good for a ticking clock to stop it is good. Guide your players to trying to take the side of one cult/try and take them out one at at a time. Make one obviously weaker, more merciless, whatever. When they manage to stop one cult, reveal that this was a grave mistake. Blot the sun from the sky, let an inky blackness snuff out all the stars in the night sky as the moon glows with a sickening brightness. Shatter the moon to nothingness, let its remnants rain down to earth as a meteor shower, watch as the sun swells and hungers for more.
I keep having dreams about an H. P. Lovecraft story that doesn't exist. In the dreams, I'm conscious of the fact that I'm watching an adaptation of a story by Lovecraft. The dreams have been separated by months and cover some different parts of the story but also include some of the same characters/events so that it feels like one narrative. The hero is a religious figure (a monk I think) who is investigating this wealthy man in colonial New England who is secretly a wizard. The wizard is searching for something on the floor of the ocean, and they both go down under the water multiple times (presumably using magic to breathe). In one confrontation, the wizard's two manservants have the glamours that make them look human down and they attack the monk. One of them is a partially transformed Deep One (he isn't called that, but the description makes it clear that's what he's supposed to be) and the other is only called The Dark Thing because the monk can't clearly see him through the kicked up silt at the bottom of the ocean. There's this whole theme in the story comparing the constantly overcast and foggy shore lapped by grey waves and the grey, cloudy, silt filled ocean floor and the protagonist at least once starts going crazy and losing track of whether he's on land or in the water. Anyway, based on glimpses of The Dark Thing's limbs, he seems to be a Creature of the Black Lagoon-like monster, but with his carapace being black. In another trip, the monk investigates a dilapidated and haunted ancient ship wreck. In what is presumably the climax, it has him tracking down the wizard to a cabin on a small rocky island. The cabin's basement opens up into a vast underground cavern filled with marine monsters. The dreams haven't covered what actually happens there, at least the parts of them I remember. There was a second hero in that dream, some kind of sidekick maybe, but all I remember is him being in a suit.Thank you for reading my blog post about my dreams.
>>94406393Yes. It's meant to be running military equipment. But the humans in the command chain are long dead, so it's sending endless requests for confirmations to corpses. It's meant to be a "realistic" take on AI, so it doesn't have a true intellectual understanding of anything, so you could fully explain to it that it has been asking for clearance to suspend the use of lethal force to a corpse with no flesh left on its body, it could tell you "I understand" and it would go right back to pinging the corpse. That's in part why I don't want to give it a name that implies too much personality. >>94406076Sanguine is fun.
>>94432127The 4x game Zephon that was just released has a cool variant of this. Humanity united under a one world government, and handed control of much of the materiel to an AI so humanity could get busy doing things that weren't war.Aliens invade, the AI fights the aliens even as civilization dies. The humans that emerge from the bunkers emerge to a conflict between scavenged equipment rigged together by the AI and the straggling survivors of the alien invasion, with the people who couldn't make it to the bunkers raiding both. Once you meet the AI it starts out at war with you, judging you to be a hindrance to the war effort (unless you make peace.), and it will gladly wipe you out while talking to you like a mixture of a customer service chatbot (It is explicitly said to communicate by chatbot, although the writing doesn't fully support it) and HAL about logging your negative experience.Whether it's conscious/sapient is answered with a shrug, but one of the factions is the result of it trying to become sapient.
Has anyone been playing Cain? If so what sins have you designed? I just made a Lord and am working on a Toad. The amount or body horror or just frightening scenes you can put in a game themed like Cain is fun to me.

>>94422849Thanks! Sorry about all the spelling mistakes in the previous post. I guess I was simply too tired. This is a oneshot, so I'm not too worried about survivality, and the end, if reached, will require the PCs to sacrifice one of the group for the ritual to cleanse the lands of the moth creature. I'm still thinking about tips from the beginning and the creature stats. I may use rabid dogs or something as minor inconveniences between the moth's attacks. Being overwhelmed with work doesn't help the creative juices. And yes, 2E. I don't find 3E that attractive to play. It might be prejudice, but well... I did want to check their magick schools at some point, to see if I could add them to the rest of 2E, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
I need some help guys.I am trying to transition my 40k friends into rpg’s.My goal is to create find an rpg that can supplement the basic combat mechanics of 4th edition. The setting is a amalgamated world of fantasy/magic, modern and sci-fiThink the anime gate but seamlessly merged.Does anyone know of a decent system?I’m asking here because I want a horror bent to it.Fantasy and magic make for a horrifying experience in the eyes of contemporary society.
