I like to imagine the battles like the OP picture and I guess the picture has made me like semi-urban wasteland environments.
What I like to imagine my dudes are fighting in are the ruins of a megatropolis going street to street in brutal urban warfare. Maybe I'm just stockholme syndrome'd into liking GW's urban ruin terrain pieces.

honestly what would really make this pop is if you took a really saturated red or pink, thinned it down a lot and ran it into the runic recesses and stuff. I think it'd look amazing. The blending is nice, I dont really like hyperreallistic blends anyway.

"It is not uncommon for freeblade knights that feel they have disgraced themselves or dishonoured themselves to attach themselves with regiments as a form of penance. But some have come to enjoy the isolation from their knightly brethren. As they are free from the shackles of what is honourable and dishonourable in combat. Able to use underhanded tactics and methods to gain the upper hand in the battlefield. The success of these tactics and the freedom to use them can not only feel liberating for these isolated freeblades but also the earned praise of the guard they fight alongside has been found to be intoxicating."

Not really, the Emperor is supposed to be the king of plot contrivance. If the Emperor needed to body the Necrons for the sake of the plot, he would. If he needed to lose temporarily he would. If the Eldar gods combined forces and manifested an Avatar to fight preheresy Emps, it would lose. The Emperor never "loses", that's how he goes. He's a plot device, not a character. >For more than a hundred centuries the Emperor has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Earth. He is the Master of Mankind. By the might of his inexhaustible armies a million worlds stand against the dark.

>Yet, he is a rotting carcass, the Carrion Lord of the Imperium held in life by marvels from the Dark Age of Technology and the thousand souls sacrificed each day so his may continue to burn.

>To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. It is to suffer an eternity of carnage and slaughter. It is to have cries of anguish and sorrow drowned by the thirsting laughter of dark gods.

>This is a dark and terrible era where you will find little comfort or hope. Forget the power of technology and science. Forget the promise of progress and advancement. Forget any notion of common humanity or compassion.

>There is no peace amongst the stars, for in the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war.

What the other guy said. Also, their profiles really specialize in beating up chaff/skirmishers/small to mid weight targets. Having more of them isn't likely to really help them crack hard things that 5 couldn't. The thing that seems good right now is to take 2 units of 5, one gets a lord, both go in a rhino. That way you can stage up, send the 5 + lord to go kill something with the Lord's once per game pop off, and the other 5 go on an objective, fuck up some cultists, etc.

The hate is so visceral for Tau because the Greater Good is purely a concept, not an entity. It is an enlightened decision of a united species to be and do better than their base instincts tell them to.
Reducing it to a religious idol who one blindly worships without any thought is as close to sacrilege as Tau minds can recognize. It is as if some primitive barely contacted Pacific Islanders were found to be sacrificing infants to a "god of compassion".

Just refine your technique a bit. Look at a fucking tutorial or two dont be a moron. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAFIsthaGSk

First result on google for "red necron glow". You can do the same shit even if you dont have the same ink paints or whatever the fuck.
>>
>>94397604
It's okay to not be perfect at painting when you first try. No one is. Rethink what you're trying to do and look at something simpler that you can replicate or find a decent tutorial and replace the greens with pinks or orange or whatever. Needing to strip it is one thing, but don't just ruin your model when you have a little melty.

That aside, this looks pretty basic with good results if you want a less traditional Necron weapon look:

Don’t worry about it. Marine players bitched so hard that GW said they’re getting some attention in December. If I’m honest I hope it’s a small points cut to shooty intercessors and redemptors.
The bigger issue is how many detachments just aren’t good and how no generic chapter master datasheet exists.

You're delusional if you think Night Lords aren't as deep into Chaos as the Black Legion. All the other Undivided legions pale in comparison to the Word Bearers but they absolutely go balls deep with daemons as the rest. Chaos corruption is not explicitly a physical change either. Chaos warps the soul as much as the body.

No, because I want the army that’s means something to me. Not an army that looks good on paper.
The odds are, on a long enough timeline your setup will be useable again, and eventually will be nerfed to the point you cannot use them in their current configuration.
Plus you can always run a single person game if you invest in an army like nids or some other jobber army.
In fact I recommend that if only for the purpose of understanding how to use non-optimized units in a way that makes them more useful.
It’s not fun if you’re not having fun.

I dream of the day where there are rules for power axe Veletaris Auxilia soldiers in 40k.
I want to be able to rev up a chimera tank loaded with them and have them reach the front lines, disembark and charge melee enemies even if they will easily get wiped out.
I want to be able to see the carnage on the tabletop as they blindly charge into the fray against Votann Cthonian Berserkers.
Or against Khorne worshipping Chaos Space marines.
Or opposing axe wielding guard units.
Or enemy guardsmen bullgryns.
I don't care if they get cut down quickly.

Have some 40k fans that actually get shit done made a fan made rulebook for fielding HH units in 40k?

the "emperor" is actually a woman and has been this whole time, but she's fucking autistic and grew up in bronze age anatolia so she thinks people can only take a leader seriously if they're a 20 foot tall giant glowing golden caveman covered in lightning.
the reason sisters of silence are allowed to see through her glamours and are kept close as bodyguards is because they're the only people who know the secret. that's also why they're not allowed to talk.
this is also why every fucking primarch has such big daddy issues, she doesn't know how to be a father because she isn't one.

GW should bring back marine codex supplements from 8th/9th.
They had actual flavor compared to what we have now.
>but colorschemes
They should be more than that and they used to be more than just colorschemes in past editions.
Turning everything into samey formless mush is boring. Taking away flavor and dumbing 40k down more and more.
Nevermind that in the old editions it incentivized you to make /yourdudes/, nowadays making /yourdudes/ is a detriment and it just pushes people to use named already existing armies instead of having people come up with their own.
"Ironstorm" detachment is just Iron Hands, everyone knows it but GW got lazy and told you can just paint whatever and play whatever.
Having options and variety is always better. But more importantly, factions and their lore should be properly and accurately represented in the tabletop rules.

How are GW planning to justify Primaris Grey Knights? Their Gene Seed is made from the Emperor's DNA, are they really going to let some Admech goon monkey around with it?
>>
>>94398656
No. They won't be actual primaris, just a primaris-sized refresh.
>>
>>94398656
Primaris are just old marines with extra organs. The geneseed/DNA has nothing to do with it.
>>
>>94398656
well if crowe is anything to go by they arent getting primaris, they are just getting an upscaling refresh in classic armor
>>
>>94398656
They don't need to let an admech dude mess with it.
Just give the primaris tech and knowledge to them and they can start making their own primaris.
This is already what both Guilliman and Cawl do if they find a chapter of marines, they just give primaris reinforcements to the chapter and then give them the tech and knowledge on how to make more of the primaris. Or if they have no primaris marines to give they just give them the tech and knowledge to do so.

Guilliman can just easily do this with the Grey Knights as well since he is the current Lord Commander and Imperial Regent (aka defacto Emperor currently). He just gives them the tech and lets them decide what to do with it.
>>
>>94398656
Can you faggot stop saying stupid shit? Look at Crowe, you think he is primaris? No? Then shut the fuck up already.

so how advanced does a machine need to be to get the machine spirit? does a windmill have it since it automates turning?
>>
>>94398760
Anything a person can anthropomorphize has a machine spirit. It helps if they don't fully understand how something works, because it's easier to ascribe personality to it.
>>
just preordered the DA box
>>
>>94398770
ah ok. so is the machine spirit real or did the ad mech make it up?
>>
>>94398760
A machine spirit is a rudimentary AI in something like a titan, or nothing but the basic programming in something like a cogitator. The mechanicus denies this since AI are sacrilegious but it's what they are. So anything that is smart enough to do autonomous actions has a machine spirit since the whole idea is that machine worship is a result of regression and a lack of understanding without mysticism. In the FFL rpg it's a whole religious thing to smack a computer to make it work with a catechism and everything.

The new reapers were a 100% faithful update and look good for the most part. Only thing that definetly 100% sucks about the is the skull faces.

Ogryn are very much tardmaxxing constantly. They are inhumanly strong, even stronger than space marines or custodes, and they are retardedly durable and hard to kill because they have lot of subcutaneus fat on them, but they are also notorious for having a higher tolerance to pain and damage. In the space wolves omnibus Ragnar Balckmane dodges a lascannon shot
In the Dawn of War novel a space marine manages to unholster his bolt pistol, raise it and fire at a traitor's weakpoint in a fraction of a second.
I would need to dig it up but back when SM chapters had cool roules, in 4th or 5th, Salamanders had the Slow and Purposeful rule because they were described as "while still being so fast that human eyes can't track them, Salamanders are known for be tougher and stronger, but also slower, than Marines of other chapters"

NTA, but the problem is that you have a fundamentally different perspective on things. For most of us here the lore is just background to give the game flavor, and it's the game and its stats that matter the most, and this supposed super duper hyoer qualities of the marines are just not reflected on the game. This makes the claims and sources for those claims simply come out as some steel donut shit about how the guys you like are the fucking bestest.

In other /tg/ words it's like TTRPG people that have epic and accomplished backstories for a standard level 3 character and don't see the problem with their borderline super hero demigod being just a regular scrub as capable as Mr. Human Fighter over there that just signed ip with the local militia.

then for all the niggers who only believe in tabletop stats i refer to this post >>94399096
Marines were (are) I4, same as a basic Eldar but one point lower than aspect warriors. Ogryns are I2, one point less than normal humans.

Can an Ogryn kill a space marine barehanded and is generally more resistant to wounds? Yes.
Would a space marine generally be able to kill an Ogryn before it gets the chance to retaliate? also yes.

Should I paint the eyes of an imperial fist red or blue or green?

No, because tard strength and durability compensates for that.

Chance? Yes. A good one? Not with that armor save Ogryns have.

If ypu use the official app you can always make lists but only one. (With correct pts, strategem and enhancements)
The codes of the book will allow you to read the rules contained within the book for the app.
Having a payed account allows you to have more then 1 list, rules are still locked

2 death knights squad
2 techmarines min
2 redemptors
1-4 more dreadnoughts

The rest to taste, but generally good choices:
Scouts for obj
Azrael for CP
Melee in clowcar if you like to dream
Eradicator to pop-tanks
Most DA stuff is shit, flyers are underwhelming, ravenwing bikes and command too
