Considering that the Medical androids heal with Nanomachines and have a DNA editing suite I would assume androids are a weird mix of biotech, mostly tech but there is some biology in there.
As for damage, the material can heal any damage in a matter of seconds it says, so maybe like Wolverine? Maybe more like Deadpool, if that makes sense, since Wolverine never loses llimbs as far as I know but we could and it would probably take at least some time to heal that. We can probably handwave anything less than limb loss, or like big holes? I don't thik we are slime like, we probably have a structure. We also probably have something like a heart, unless we want to be all brain.
For the pupouse, technically we are all supposed to be disater relief, which is why we all have the crazy regen, but older gens probably had some missing features. Or maybe they just look less human and the latest advancements were all in making them as human as possible.

Nta, personally I don't think any of them are good for MPs, and these are the reasons.
Most of them focus too much on the ship and not enough of on the (You) part of the cyoa. What we want is to create crews, so the ship building part is actually useless to like 70% of anons, only the captain would need to make a ship, or maybe the shipwright if we wanna go that way, but most anons would still only make a crew member.
One is an eternal WIP, it's missing pieces.
One is just normal people, no fantasy, not tech, just mundane pirates. That's boring.
One is more about shaping the world you are going to explore than making either a ship or a character.
One is just the ship, once again useless to most anons.
The ideal would be something like scrapper, as in a cyoa with different sections but that doesn't expect you to fill out all of them and gives you more resources to use in the other sections if you do skip. Unexpected but very cool addition. A very aggressive take on a Regenerator, I can see some interesting interactions with his faction. Lysis would have conflicted feelings about him, on one hand Cain is clearly going crazy, he is almost Lost from a certain point of view, on the other he is a charismatic leader and is still helping people in his own way. He requires caution, but in the end they have compatible goals despite almost opposite ideologies.

Question for Kohaku-anon when you get the chance:

Mind if I use the Denim Pygmies for the HLA investigation writefag? Right now the idea is that the Fujiwara Senki are confronting them about breaking the peace they mediated and stabbing Hajime, leading to a brawl between the gangs. The FS win pretty decisively, and the bancho of the Pygmies uses a Tamagotchi to turn the tables - not realizing the four members that came to confront them were all Awakened. HLA jump in to 'rescue' him (try to steal the Tamagotchi, find out who is making them, fuck up the FS, etc). They're forced to flee when the device runs out of power, since they need to escape before the Bleeding Zone collapses and reveals their identities.

Wanted to ask because it seems like they will be very important in Episode 4. If it steps on your toes, I can replace them with another group causing trouble thanks to the Gang Violence, or a temp leader of the Gator Teeth trying to hit the Pygmies for revenge and the FS intercepting them.

I think it's similar to the prompt about light/dark law/chaos we've had before.
Before the Awakening, Ran was closer to chaotic evil (although not super far into it yet), he broke the law and hurt people to gain a sense of control he lacked in his life, but there was also a part of him that simply enjoyed it (influence of the evil star). If this continued, he'd keep falling deeper into criminality.
Ken (Ran's brother) was a straight laced lawful good. He sought to overcome their situation by putting in the work and staying optimistic. If his brother wasn't there, he might have succeeded, but the fact that his brother was there, also motivated Ken, because he knew he had someone to protect.
The awakening in a way merged the two. Ken's nature imprinted on Ran, and pushes him towards the side of good. It was a catalyst towards a change, and provides counterbalance to Ran's own violent nature and the whispers of the evil star. However, it's not a clean merge nor a stable balance. Current Ran has been pulled up from the moral ditch he was in and while he's not there yet, he's trying to become better, but he can still be, and at times is, pushed towards either side. Being on the Disciplinary Committee is a way for him to also enforce rules on himself. It acts as a reminder that this is how he's supposed to act, but he hasn't really internalized those rules yet. There are likely people who would have done a better job given that post, but he tries.
Hence, True Neutral is likely a good pick, given the options.

Well, alignment systems are often a controversial subject because they tend to open to interpration. My view of true neutral might differ from yours, because for me the true part isn't about how you aren't attached to any system, but just that the total outcome of your attachments doesn't push you distinctly enough either way on either exis. It might be because you don't care (or are unable to), but it could also be because you're obsessed with that balance (druids are sometimes shown as such), or that some of your attachments pull you one way and others the other (this is the case with Ran). Your True Neutral is very limiting, while mine might be overly broad.

I liked it. It felt very anime, especially the way it ended with the shouting. The part with Ken showing off the key and talking to Ran was great. I think the insert of the allies in the middle of the scene felt a bit odd (the part from "RAN NEJIMAAA!! Don't let that thing trick you!"). Like the intermission was a too harsh compared to how the rest of the scene went. Maybe if the scene was longer, something that direct could have worked better because there would be time to reestablish the illusion, but as it was, I think something a bit more subtle might have worked better. Like inserting the call from allies into the illusion rather than breaking it for a moment. Have them be the voice on the radio, a nurse walking by the room etc. On the other hand, I often tend to think about writefags in a rather visual, cinematic way, so maybe in text it wouldn't help much. Also, in that interjection, when Ran feels like giving up and is told that he shouldn't, given his set of perks like Forward and Numb, I think that idea should have come from him, rather than a reprimand by Kukurihime. (Tbf, those perks taken at face value would make writing him difficult as hell, so even when I answer prompts, I often tend to downplay them to have anything interesting to say.) Rather than an impulse to help him overcome the temptation, it felt like Kukurihime's words did the job for him. I initially suspected that maybe it's a bit of an editing error, because the role of the allies and the solution reasoning is repeated in the scene's finale but in a smoother manner (it's when the illusion breaks, and the thoughts come from Ran), so the intermission feels like a first draft of that.

In truth, I actually DID have a visual explanation for how that scene went, but I thought explaining it in text would’ve been too weird. Ran was in this black void, sinking into the water, while he could see the hospital scene through an eye-shaped “screen” of sorts. Momofuku and everyone else would’ve walked in, but without sinking in the water like Ran, just walking on it like it was a floor. If I ever draw comics for my writefags (far too much effort) I think you’d get the vision.

Also, when I have 9 builds to worry about, I’m gonna miss some perks here and there, but you’re absolutely right in the sense that Ran had to realise these things from other people’s reactions, and the experience at hand, in order to awaken that determination. Things like Forward kinda get in the way of having anime character development moments, so I’m sorry if you felt that was ignored. My goal was to have a situation where Ran considered that, maybe, having taken the accident in Ken’s place would’ve saved the both of them a lot of trouble, but eventually he does come to realise that Ken would feel the same way he does now if that were to happen.

In comparison to, say, Momofuku’s illusion, I think Ran’s needed the extra oomph from the appearance of the others because the scene relied a lot more on deep-seated character trauma that is, frankly, easier to relate to in theory than Momofuku’s fear of becoming a dictator, but I totally understand why you think he could’ve realised that on his own from his perks. I just thought that having the others barge in and go all like “the Ran I know would never go along with this!” made for a better scene, in my humble opinion, even if I could’ve 100% been more clever or subtle about it. The radio or a nurse are actually really cool ideas, how come I didn’t think of that?

Power of friendship is cool and is in big part what builds that anome vibe. I think it was shown off great in the scenes finale where they help pull him out. But, notice how in that scene he pulls himself up too. In the intermission, he jsut feels too passive, and Kukurihime does the whole job, outright spellign it out for him, instead of just helping/nudging him in the right direction. Anyway, , Laplace's part and first Kukurihime's line are okay (except full on breaking illusion, but with the way you explained it visually, it sounds better now; also the vomics idea sounds based). Maybe I'd lean towards Ran not being that completely resigned/passive at that point and more on the line, but I think my biggest issue is with:

I think you’re explaining it in a way that makes more sense now. Like, the intermission isn’t the issue necessarily, but rather that Ran acted too passively. I could consider going for a rewrite of a few scenes if these criticisms keep popping up, since I also had some words thrown my way about how I kinda forgot about the Lesser Ideas swarming the Flooding Zone (my bad lol). Sorry if I'm explaining my point poorly, it's late here, so I'm getting incoherent. There are two issues one with passivity (focused on above, mostly inside the intermission, so thats why the two issues overlap a bit) and the other with the way the intermission is presented (mentioned first, the scene isn't that long to reimmerse the reader into the illusion, but the visual idea helps here). I don't think rewrites are necessary, but sometimes feedback can help us improve in the cute, sometimes we just want to know. After all, you did ask what I thought of the scene.

Nah nah, I did want that criticism, but I have a tendency to react to criticism and think “I SUUUCK!!! I FUCKED UP!!! I FAILED THE ANONS!!! GOTTA REDO IT ALL!!!” so part of me feels like I made a mistake and I have to own up to it, but I can 100% just take the lesson of “make sure your characters have a bit more agency and don’t spell out the crux of their character arc to them as if they wouldn’t know or wouldn’t act upon it themselves”. In any case, I greatly appreciate your criticism and thoughts.

It was mostly a discussion on how to make small teams work rather than a proposal for naruto specifically. Naruto just happens to be a good setting for it.
