>>96933908>Maybe some link with Mei and her Grandma?Roger.
>>96933601All the test tube imagery makes it look like the androids are actually biological, or have nanomachines for cells. The latter might be the case depending on the extent of self healing. Actually, what's the extent of damage that we can handwave as easily healed? Though this might also depend on the android's purpose and generation.
>>96933959nanobots are definitely involved since inheritors are mentioned to use them in creating more androids
>>96934102Was it Dune or something where nanites acted as currency because it could become anything you wanted if you had enough of them? The same could be applied here where it's all around useful for plenty of things but it's limited in some way, and can be used to improve yourself since you're already nanites.
>>96933959Considering that the Medical androids heal with Nanomachines and have a DNA editing suite I would assume androids are a weird mix of biotech, mostly tech but there is some biology in there. As for damage, the material can heal any damage in a matter of seconds it says, so maybe like Wolverine? Maybe more like Deadpool, if that makes sense, since Wolverine never loses llimbs as far as I know but we could and it would probably take at least some time to heal that. We can probably handwave anything less than limb loss, or like big holes? I don't thik we are slime like, we probably have a structure. We also probably have something like a heart, unless we want to be all brain. For the pupouse, technically we are all supposed to be disater relief, which is why we all have the crazy regen, but older gens probably had some missing features. Or maybe they just look less human and the latest advancements were all in making them as human as possible.
>>96934238>Nanomachines and have a DNA editing suiteThis kind of proves nothing since I'm pretty sure only the inheritors were built with the expectation that mankind couldn't be saved anymoreMedical bots were supposed to work on humans and androids
>>96934387The interesting part is that it specifies the nanobots work on androids, which implies that they work on inorganic matter too. That may not be that big of a revelation tho, since a lot medical procedures use non organic materials even now. Also it separates technical knowledge and knowledge of your own cnstruction, which implies it's not completely overlapping.
I think you guys are underestimating the tech level a bit considering that self-teleport is described as 'at will' and stuff.
>>96934667Personally I don't think I'm underestimating the tech level, it's clear we can do some pretty crazy shit. What's limited is how available the crazy shit is, since the world is in ruins. A lot of stuff is probably lost, and the newly awakened androids probably don't know how to use a lot of stuff without access to the internet. I plan to build up a lot of stuff over time, but starting more grounded is probably what people expect.
>>96934667It did say that it was like magic from our modern perspective. Maybe that anon was right and this can be played more like a fantasy, casting nanite spells and crawling the ruins of an ancient civilization for loot.
>>96934667at will can describe plenty of things. At will as in a mental link implant involved with it where you just *think* and it works, or at will with pressing a button.
>>96934765I guess the way I am writing how Lysis uses his nanites does look pretty magical. This actually gives me half of an idea for a sort of antagonist, but I'm not sure how far I should take it.It definitely has the change to be very large scale, it depends on where we go with it.
Kaoru and Takaishi are cute boyfriends!
Since people are talking about possible new MPs, I may as well share that I had an idea for a cyoa. Here's the setting rundown:>fantasy (mid-high power)>time period is roughly age of exploration/renaissance (airships, magic muskets, magic knight armor)>magic is sourced from powerful magic beings (think less goblins, more Final Fantasy summons); in the past, they were worshipped and dealt with for magic - in some time leading up to present, humanity realized they could beat the shit out of them and forcefully subjugate them, leading to more powerful magic, and the magical beings becoming more powerful and savage in turn to avoid subjugation>the EVIL expansionist empire is attempting to conquer the continent/world (there may be a new world, haven't decided yet)>while the option to play as the evil empire is available, the main intent is to play as either soldiers/adventurers/mercenaries in employ of member nations of an alliance of the next strongest countries (I'm thinking 3 or 4), forming an Teutonic Order of sorts of all types>anons battle to subjugate more magical beings in order to battle against the ever powerful evil empire>maybe secret society shenanigansDo anons think this sounds fun and playable? Keep in mind that I'm a rentryslopper so that may affect your enjoyment or belief in my abilities.
>>96937342Regardless of the concept, it should really come down to execution. Flesh it out and then will test it to see if it sucks.

>>96939977I mean, I don't write that fast, go for it. Things inadvertedly got philisofical so It's gonna take a while anyway.
Did one of you go over to the regular cyoa thread after last night's discussion of pirates? Suddenly there's like three pirate CYOAs over there lol.
>>96940257are any of them good for mps tho
>>96940322I think they could be. And of course the next anon will say they aren't. I don't have a way to answer your question, it's a matter of personal taste.
>>96940387Nta, personally I don't think any of them are good for MPs, and these are the reasons. Most of them focus too much on the ship and not enough of on the (You) part of the cyoa. What we want is to create crews, so the ship building part is actually useless to like 70% of anons, only the captain would need to make a ship, or maybe the shipwright if we wanna go that way, but most anons would still only make a crew member. One is an eternal WIP, it's missing pieces. One is just normal people, no fantasy, not tech, just mundane pirates. That's boring. One is more about shaping the world you are going to explore than making either a ship or a character. One is just the ship, once again useless to most anons. The ideal would be something like scrapper, as in a cyoa with different sections but that doesn't expect you to fill out all of them and gives you more resources to use in the other sections if you do skip. I don't think anything like that exists, other than the already tried ones like MarakOnePiece.
>>96940653I should also add, most of them assume that you are a baseline boring human in a setting with only baseline boring humans, so there is not much to do with that either, you can't even fill in the blanks.
>>96940387>it's a matter of personal tasteNot really. They are just not good for MP. We don't need 50 boats.
>>96940653>MarakOnePieceTo be fair all of the CYOA's I've made so far have been objectively dogshit and should not be used as a measurement of quality.

After awakening in his resting place, the home of his previous owners, Cain decided to dedicate himself to the goal of restoring humanity to its former glory at any cost.>To achieve this goal, Cain has established the Harbingers of Eden, an elite squad of Regenerators that travel all across the ruins, trading, bartering and even stealing, any DNA remains or technology that can lead to their glorious purpose. He believes androids are below humans, and he'll sacrifice other androids if it means reaching his goal, but he will always struggle to harm innocent androids, ultimately recognising that they are his kin. Robot Uncs wasting their time...
>>96940653>just mundane pirates>boringSkill issue.
>>96941557On part of the cyoa to catch interest
>>96941480Unexpected but very cool addition. A very aggressive take on a Regenerator, I can see some interesting interactions with his faction. Lysis would have conflicted feelings about him, on one hand Cain is clearly going crazy, he is almost Lost from a certain point of view, on the other he is a charismatic leader and is still helping people in his own way. He requires caution, but in the end they have compatible goals despite almost opposite ideologies.Lysis will help as he can if they meet, progress is progress after all, and they have much to talk about when it comes to DNA. Are those wings or just a cape? It's a very cool design regardless. I see what you did with the serial number.
>>96942154They're holographic/hard light wings, but they're functionally a cape because there's no flight capability in the CYOA. I decided to play ball with it despite what I said, even if I do wish there were more options.
>>96942188This ties in surprisingly well with what I was writing. The first small project Lysis is working on is Hardlight, and how to make it better. Also technically you could lift yourself with telekinesis, it's a classic.
>>96942272Well in any case uuuuh I didn't pick up telekinesis so I'm fucked either way, he can still use the wings to aura farm. That's cool, should I give you a writing sample of Cain's dialogue if you need him in the future? He should be cordial to Lysis as long as he collaborates, and I think they'd get along in discussing DNA and tech. They can disagree, and Cain can be passionate about his disagreements, but he can put those things behind as long as they work on the same goal.

It means you don’t fight for anyone, or anything, you just don’t care at all. Maybe only your own survival. I think a lot of people in true neutral could go into lawful neutral (I fight for my own set of rules and interests) or chaotic neutral (I fight for my own freedom).

The original 3, lawful, neutral, and chaos, has neutral being specifically noted as the middle ground between two ridiculous and exaggerated extremes created specifically for goofy roleplaying. Question for Kohaku-anon when you get the chance:Mind if I use the Denim Pygmies for the HLA investigation writefag? Right now the idea is that the Fujiwara Senki are confronting them about breaking the peace they mediated and stabbing Hajime, leading to a brawl between the gangs. The FS win pretty decisively, and the bancho of the Pygmies uses a Tamagotchi to turn the tables - not realizing the four members that came to confront them were all Awakened. HLA jump in to 'rescue' him (try to steal the Tamagotchi, find out who is making them, fuck up the FS, etc). They're forced to flee when the device runs out of power, since they need to escape before the Bleeding Zone collapses and reveals their identities.Wanted to ask because it seems like they will be very important in Episode 4. If it steps on your toes, I can replace them with another group causing trouble thanks to the Gang Violence, or a temp leader of the Gator Teeth trying to hit the Pygmies for revenge and the FS intercepting them.
>>96945203This was my intent, yeah. He's in the midst of a radical alignment change.>>96945328True Neutral is a lot broader than you think. I read Ran as the latter.

>>96945203I think it's similar to the prompt about light/dark law/chaos we've had before. Before the Awakening, Ran was closer to chaotic evil (although not super far into it yet), he broke the law and hurt people to gain a sense of control he lacked in his life, but there was also a part of him that simply enjoyed it (influence of the evil star). If this continued, he'd keep falling deeper into criminality.Ken (Ran's brother) was a straight laced lawful good. He sought to overcome their situation by putting in the work and staying optimistic. If his brother wasn't there, he might have succeeded, but the fact that his brother was there, also motivated Ken, because he knew he had someone to protect. The awakening in a way merged the two. Ken's nature imprinted on Ran, and pushes him towards the side of good. It was a catalyst towards a change, and provides counterbalance to Ran's own violent nature and the whispers of the evil star. However, it's not a clean merge nor a stable balance. Current Ran has been pulled up from the moral ditch he was in and while he's not there yet, he's trying to become better, but he can still be, and at times is, pushed towards either side. Being on the Disciplinary Committee is a way for him to also enforce rules on himself. It acts as a reminder that this is how he's supposed to act, but he hasn't really internalized those rules yet. There are likely people who would have done a better job given that post, but he tries.Hence, True Neutral is likely a good pick, given the options.
>>96946565I guess that makes more sense. I still think true neutral is a very hard alignment to really be in, because most people in this world have SOME form of attachment or clear opposition to the system. Truly not giving a fuck about anything, in my mind, is pretty difficult to achieve, but I guess it’s not impossible
>>96946608Well, alignment systems are often a controversial subject because they tend to open to interpration. My view of true neutral might differ from yours, because for me the true part isn't about how you aren't attached to any system, but just that the total outcome of your attachments doesn't push you distinctly enough either way on either exis. It might be because you don't care (or are unable to), but it could also be because you're obsessed with that balance (druids are sometimes shown as such), or that some of your attachments pull you one way and others the other (this is the case with Ran). Your True Neutral is very limiting, while mine might be overly broad.

>>96946682I liked it. It felt very anime, especially the way it ended with the shouting. The part with Ken showing off the key and talking to Ran was great. I think the insert of the allies in the middle of the scene felt a bit odd (the part from "RAN NEJIMAAA!! Don't let that thing trick you!"). Like the intermission was a too harsh compared to how the rest of the scene went. Maybe if the scene was longer, something that direct could have worked better because there would be time to reestablish the illusion, but as it was, I think something a bit more subtle might have worked better. Like inserting the call from allies into the illusion rather than breaking it for a moment. Have them be the voice on the radio, a nurse walking by the room etc. On the other hand, I often tend to think about writefags in a rather visual, cinematic way, so maybe in text it wouldn't help much. Also, in that interjection, when Ran feels like giving up and is told that he shouldn't, given his set of perks like Forward and Numb, I think that idea should have come from him, rather than a reprimand by Kukurihime. (Tbf, those perks taken at face value would make writing him difficult as hell, so even when I answer prompts, I often tend to downplay them to have anything interesting to say.) Rather than an impulse to help him overcome the temptation, it felt like Kukurihime's words did the job for him. I initially suspected that maybe it's a bit of an editing error, because the role of the allies and the solution reasoning is repeated in the scene's finale but in a smoother manner (it's when the illusion breaks, and the thoughts come from Ran), so the intermission feels like a first draft of that.

>>96950131>first draftH-Haha… Yeah, I do drafts and revise my writefags… I totally do that…In truth, I actually DID have a visual explanation for how that scene went, but I thought explaining it in text would’ve been too weird. Ran was in this black void, sinking into the water, while he could see the hospital scene through an eye-shaped “screen” of sorts. Momofuku and everyone else would’ve walked in, but without sinking in the water like Ran, just walking on it like it was a floor. If I ever draw comics for my writefags (far too much effort) I think you’d get the vision. Also, when I have 9 builds to worry about, I’m gonna miss some perks here and there, but you’re absolutely right in the sense that Ran had to realise these things from other people’s reactions, and the experience at hand, in order to awaken that determination. Things like Forward kinda get in the way of having anime character development moments, so I’m sorry if you felt that was ignored. My goal was to have a situation where Ran considered that, maybe, having taken the accident in Ken’s place would’ve saved the both of them a lot of trouble, but eventually he does come to realise that Ken would feel the same way he does now if that were to happen.
Gen alpha humor is very reddit
>>96933458How many people aren't playing JITE?
>>96950131>>96950249I’m gonna make a small addendum to this and explain that, in this case, I just prefer “power of friendship” moments when I think a scene really needs to hit hard. In comparison to, say, Momofuku’s illusion, I think Ran’s needed the extra oomph from the appearance of the others because the scene relied a lot more on deep-seated character trauma that is, frankly, easier to relate to in theory than Momofuku’s fear of becoming a dictator, but I totally understand why you think he could’ve realised that on his own from his perks. I just thought that having the others barge in and go all like “the Ran I know would never go along with this!” made for a better scene, in my humble opinion, even if I could’ve 100% been more clever or subtle about it. The radio or a nurse are actually really cool ideas, how come I didn’t think of that?

But, notice how in that scene he pulls himself up too. In the intermission, he jsut feels too passive, and Kukurihime does the whole job, outright spellign it out for him, instead of just helping/nudging him in the right direction. >>96950462Goddammit, I've accidentally pressed post. Anyway, , Laplace's part and first Kukurihime's line are okay (except full on breaking illusion, but with the way you explained it visually, it sounds better now; also the vomics idea sounds based). Maybe I'd lean towards Ran not being that completely resigned/passive at that point and more on the line, but I think my biggest issue is with:>"You can't just pretend Ken isn't in a coma! You can't act like your criminal record never happened! The Ran I know fights every day to mend the past, for a better future!"it feels redundant with the finale and doing too much work for Ran. Sort of exposition-heavy?But I still enjoyed the writefag. I thank you for it.

>>96950462>>96950503I think you’re explaining it in a way that makes more sense now. Like, the intermission isn’t the issue necessarily, but rather that Ran acted too passively. I could consider going for a rewrite of a few scenes if these criticisms keep popping up, since I also had some words thrown my way about how I kinda forgot about the Lesser Ideas swarming the Flooding Zone (my bad lol). It’s a BIG writefag and I guess I can always improve on things.
>>96950612Sorry if I'm explaining my point poorly, it's late here, so I'm getting incoherent. There are two issues one with passivity (focused on above, mostly inside the intermission, so thats why the two issues overlap a bit) and the other with the way the intermission is presented (mentioned first, the scene isn't that long to reimmerse the reader into the illusion, but the visual idea helps here). I don't think rewrites are necessary, but sometimes feedback can help us improve in the cute, sometimes we just want to know. After all, you did ask what I thought of the scene.
>>96950680Nah nah, I did want that criticism, but I have a tendency to react to criticism and think “I SUUUCK!!! I FUCKED UP!!! I FAILED THE ANONS!!! GOTTA REDO IT ALL!!!” so part of me feels like I made a mistake and I have to own up to it, but I can 100% just take the lesson of “make sure your characters have a bit more agency and don’t spell out the crux of their character arc to them as if they wouldn’t know or wouldn’t act upon it themselves”. In any case, I greatly appreciate your criticism and thoughts. >it’s late herePerhaps I am not alone after all…

>>96955190Momo anon here, I'm assuming you're Kenji anon doing the HLA vs FS piece? It mostly depends on where the bullets hit. Any solid hit on the arms and legs is leaving her hanging onto consciousness but crippled, any solid on the torso would probably lay her down, and any solid hit on the head will just kill her, but I of course trust you're not doing that. She doesn't have any perks to protect her from the physical damage of a bullet aside from maybe Athleticism, which might as well be a nothing burger. If she gets crippled from a hit on her limbs, she can attempt to force her body to move with her Rage+5KYOCH combo, but it's very much a last ditch effort that will leave her on death's door. While she can handle the pain like a champ thanks to being very Stubborn, it won't do much to stop the shock to her body, since she has never been shot before. Her vigilante perk is more about being an acrobatic action hero that can take down grown men than being a john wick type that can take a bunch of bullets without dying. So if you want her taking several shots, I'd say use her speed to make it hard to aim and have them mostly be grazes.

Anyway they are random ruins filled with monsters and traps with a boss at the end, you open them with a chalice, hence the name, and depending on the chalice and code you get varied difficulty levels with proportional rewards.

>>96957302The current robot one is that, you are stuck on Earth, and it's pretty clear humanity didn't colonize space since they are extinct.
>>96957343that's obviously a bit different
>>96957360Is it? It fits. What's missing?
>>96957369Aliens, actual choices, alienussy, something that actually catches my eye, an overal plotpoint that brings the characters together.
>>96957378So nothing that was said in the original post.
>>96957267Don't forget about Itachi aura farming on a power line
>>96957369>Treasure planet type shit.
>>96957267>>96957396Why couldn't ninjas figure out cars or guns? Were they stupid?
>>96957389Nta, but if anon considered that a viable option, he wouldn't be asking if there were any. You're being purposely obtuse to shill an MP that won't work with too many people anyway.
>>96957428I still don't see what's missing.
>>96957389Ah, yes, I recall how Treasure Planet famously lacked 98% of the things that made it treasure planet and really only had being in the future and having some tech going for it.
>>96956576Finished a short intro for Robots, but it's a solo piece. I kind of have writers block at the moments since I have a few ideas for interactions and scenes with the others, but not enough to form a whole story, same thing in terms of wip.If the other robot anons are here, I want to talk about stuff about the setting, or interactions to mine for inspiration.
>>96957444Have you ever watched Treasure Planet?
>>96957442I'm just being pedantic for fun. Some anons don't even look at it seriously and they probably should give it a chance, but that's not why I'm doing this. I think people should be more specific when asking for something if they want something specific.
>>96957472least obnoxious robotfag
>>96957472"I'm being purposefully stupid!"Kill this faggot.
>>96957466I'm here, almost done with the intro for Lysis too. I tried having at least a reference to the others there.I am in a stage where things can be easily rewritten or added so now is the best time for discussion.
>>96957472There's a difference between pedantic and obtuse if you have any familiarity at all with the named media
>>96957302The current JITE one is that, you are stuck on Earth, and it's pretty clear humanity didn't colonize space since they are currently in the year 2000.
>>96957532How did you try to reference them, and what's the intro about?
>>96957466Cainanon (obviously also Kaoruanon) here. I’m just kinda waiting to see what other robots writefags will be like before I write anything with Cain, and in any case, I’m a lot more focused on JITE than I am on robots. I’d be happy to discuss robots though, I wish the MP picked up at least a bit of traction and people started joining the Harbingers of Eden
>>96957597>he doesn't knowMy build is actually going to fight the Nightmare Martians via the Mars Door they find. The Idea World was actually advanced technology made by an alien civilization.
>>96957604>I wish the MP picked up at least a bit of traction sell it to mewhat is there to do?
>>96957640Clanker sex.
>>96957640
>>96957640Sadly not much if you go by the CYOA itself, but you can make your own stuff to do in there. Explore the wastelands or the wilderness, fight mutant monsters, find the remains of humanity, create communities, shitpost, get philosophical, or if you wanna be a REAL gigachad, join the Harbingers of Eden and negotiate with those that are willing to trade with you until you have enough tech and DNA material to revive humanity, and steal, raid and destroy any who oppose you. We can be anti-heroes or bad guys, depends on if the other characters will want to play ball.
>>96957602The intro is a (slightly restricted) showcase of the cycle of progress. The MO Lysis uses to study and improve things, exploring the ruins and taking back things to make them better, a bit of interaction with his pseudo-assistant Cece, and a short hook at the end for what's in store for later.Cece is a bit silent because I don't actually know her opinion. I was planning to leave it like this, to showcase what Lysis thinks and to give her anon the chance to answer later, she is supposed to be introspective so a delayed reaction of sorts seemed fitting, but I left it easy to change in case a more detailed answer was to be given.>>96957604I put in the intro that Cain is recruiting, sending a message to any androids in a large area with a signal tower he found, it seemed something he would do. And what Lysis thinks about it, being unsure but planning to visit later.
>>96957753I was considering grabbing the radio tower item until I reasoned that the power plant made more sense as a high-scale base for a potential faction. Not that it's impossible for Cain to have also found a radio tower, he just won't use it as a long-term base I guess
>>96957640Pretty much whatever. Right now we are going into a more explorer feel with a world that is somewhere between dark souls and adventure time in feel. Death is rare for androids, going crazy not as much. The level of tech can get pretty crazy but it needs to be found or recreated first.
>>96957201How far along are you in development?
I am 45%, that's right, 45% finished Episode 4!
>>96957847pretty far. just putting it out there so people aren't surprised. I've got the structure of the CYOA done and now I just need to write descriptions and possibly change it along the way. and also make the accompanying pixel art
>>96957873hype
>>96956022I do actually want Naruto, and I want it to have small team kino. I haven't given up on anons. We can pull it off one day.
>>96957753I guess it could work like that. This is Cece anon by the way.Since you brought it up, I kind of forgot that androids have built in long distance communications, the only caveat being the infrastructure to carry those messages further. It makes me want to write ace combat coms, but this isn't exactly the setting for it. With that in mind, what modern convenience does Lysis already have? How does he go about on an expedition?>>96957604For me, Cain is harder to introduce because he changes the tone of the setting towards pushing for faction wars. I guess it comes down to how androids actually fight. They don't exactly die the same way, and their regeneration could prevent dismemberment to stop them from being able to act. How do you think battles are fought and won in this setting?
>>96957791I meant more a big amplifier of signal rather than a full radio tower. Like a futuristic phone pole. Alternatively it could be more like a digital shout, he has technical knowledge so he can probably jury-rig a one use amplifier or digital megaphone.
>>96957858Have I missed Episode 3?
>>96957904ill go with you on naruto but im not interested in smal team stuff
>>96957904I think it would be cool if we maybe picked a 'darker' nation for the next Naruto run. Like Sand (Suna I think) or Mist (Mizu I think). Maybe tone down the latter's ridiculous "ONLY ONE NINJA SURVIVES THEIR CLASS" history so the older builds could have classmates, but its not necessary. Something like a Mist schizm where part of the nation wants to turn back to their bloody roots to compete with the stronger Konoha and the other wants to continue to civilize.
>>96957097VTM is kino desu
>>96957907>pushing for faction warsI guess my idea wasn't that as much as it was introduce conflict to a setting that doesn't seem to have much of it. Now there's this group that you could work with, or you could be targeted by, if you get in the way of their goals. What Cain and the Harbingers of Eden will develop into kinda depends on how people treat them in-universe. If they're antagonised, they might go darker, but they could also just be a negotiating force that has a lot of good business deals with the other scientists and collectors of the world.>How do you think battles are fought and won in this setting?Given the focus on nanites, I assume nanite weaponry could work in a way where you "disrupt" the opponent for a certain period of time. It could be like a fencing match, where two people have this elaborate choreography and might even come to blows, but physical blows can be easily regenerated, while being touched by a nanite tool can KO you for a certain period of time, kinda like gems from Steven Universe if that makes any sense. But if that were the case, that means the people that chose nanite weapons or nanite control would probably be better at fights than most other people, which is why I think telekinesis is a good counter. It's a very "don't touch me" option, which is good to counter people whose goal is to touch you once or twice and KO you. I could see a match between two nanite weapon users like a stereotypical samurai fight, where they clash, and then one of them will sheath the blade while the other bleeds out. Very "omae wa mou shindeiru". But hey, I don't want to be the sole arbiter of this, so that's just the first idea that came to mind personally
>>96957922Broken Masquerade
>>96957904I do think the chunin exams thing would have worked if anons didn't wait around for one anon to write everything. Anons could have kept discussing character connections, written individual fights or just had the exams be a backdrop for slice of life or whatever the fuck else they wanted to write about. Hell, the canon exams were interrupted by plot anyways.
>>96957907Lysis is a bit theatrical, so if she wants to pretend to be a fighter jet pilot he would play along, and be very into it. He already talks to himself and records everything he does for future review.I imagine his lab is very advanced, as long as he's there he can control pretty much anything in it from any distance, with different devices and supports sprouting from the walls/ceiling/floor like grabber arms or chairs to sit on. The power plant makes sure he doesn't run out of power, his storage habits are a bit strange, everything is very oderly but named strange things only he knows the meaning of, he has a "useless stuff" corner that he started because of Cece, it contains stuff with no technical use but that could have historical or sentimental value. His expedition style is simultaneusly careful and reckless, caeful because he explores everything with great care unless he has a specific objective, reckless because he has pretty much no care for his own wellbeing and will stick his hands in traps or dangerous chemicals if he believes that some useful materials will come of it. He tries to preserve the enviroment, but his nanobots are very good at making sure nothing can block his way for long. Strangely enough, he is very careful to keep others out of harm, he is still a doctor deep down, very deep down.
>>96958072That didn't really happen, that's just a scapegoat. Sen anon was a fraud and deserves to be pelted with tomatoes and such but it just petered out. A few anons were still writing but they stopped when it was clear that there was no interest in general.
>>96958096hop off my goat you freak
>>96958112I'm having goat gyros for dinner bitch
>>96958096I never stopped writing actuallyMy Naruto novel currently sits at 160k wordsUpon posting it I'll revive the MP
>>96958149>160kThat's like, 2 months of writefagging bludIt's been over a year
>>96958164IdkI feel like I could only write 2k words a day comfortably considering I like to waste time elsewhere, so 2 months would only be 120k words for me
>>96957925I just like the dynamic of a small team of genin getting whipped into shape by a mentor and growing closer through blood, sweat, and tears. I don't think trying to make it work takes away from anything else you'd want to do either. If you're part of a clan, you can still write about clan dynamics. You can still write interactions with characters from other teams in your village. If it's during the chunin exams, you can write interactions between characters from different villages as well.>>96957954I don't have a strong opinion on the nation. I think your concept is cool, though. I'd try to play with those themes if we did something like that, but I don't know if everyone else would. Sometimes these things kinda get forgotten about if anons just have other things they're interested in writing/discussing.
>>96958182Clearly the solution is everyone makes 4 builds each for their own team.
>>96958096I think it petered out somewhat because people waited around too long for certain anons to develop the plot further with huge writefags instead of just doing their own smaller stuff to move things in the right direction. That's not exclusive to Naruto though. It seems pretty common with anything not called MHA. I think if anons put less pressure on themselves then MPs would last longer.
>>96958202I don't think it would need much beyond the ideas discussed in the last thread. And maybe some brief time in the academy at the beginning of the MP before characters become genin so people can get a feel for the cast. Anons would just need to have the self control to not make their characters best buds immediately.
>>96957976Now you put the idea of a Gem Doll MP in my head.Your idea of how fights work is pretty good, I like the fact it's a more tactical affair. Personally I was thinking most fight are mostly a thing of willpower, because most androids lack the knowledge of how they work so they wouldn't know about the regen and how to bypass it, while combat androids and technical/medical androids know more and would have the knowledge to fight more precisely, with the nanobots acting more like the "mage" class, manipulating the terrain and similar things. Also the fight against the Lost would be less tactical as they would not be able to reason for the most part. Lysis is supposed to be good at fighting simply because he is good at taking things apart and knows how androids are made, but can't actually fight hand-to-hand. The path to progress is dangerous, and he does plan to learn, but for now he fights from afar.
>>96950335I was going to make one while it was still a WIP but a bunch of irl things took me away from the thread for like a month and when I had more time it just kind of felt akward to join.
>>96957976>I guess my idea wasn't that as much as it was introduce conflict to a setting that doesn't seem to have much of itHaving a more forceful faction isn't exactly a bad thing, I'm just struggling to transition it smoothly since Cece's only other interaction with other androids has been with Lysis, and he's not exactly a good representative to other androids either. I actually like having Cain in the story. He's not exactly antagonistic, in fact he's very cooperative with Lysis it seems, but Cece is afraid fo the kind of person he is.>I assume nanite weaponry could work in a way where you "disrupt" the opponent for a certain period of timeSo something like fire or poison that counteracts the regeneration factor but the actual damage the weapon does wouldn't cause injury? I would've imagined combat to focus more on restricting the opponent's movement and eventually capturing them. It's honestly pretty cinematic in that it's a dance where the person who makes the least mistakes is less likely to get nanites on them, focusing more on dodges and parries rather than more passive combat.>>96958083>His expedition style is simultaneusly careful and recklessI honestly didn't expect that from Lysis, but given that regen is a thing, it makes sense. He could probably heal any lasting damage even without it. Very objective oriented.
>>96956158I like this CYOA but issue is that it's kind of tough having so many Chosen running around, and that brings into the question of what power level to run things at which really makes things hard to play as an MP. Especially with the Covenant leaders, or dealing with the items section, etc.
Sometimes im jealous of he who must not be named. I see a list of like 5 cyoas he made for himself back to back and realize if I were just a little less developed mentally I could be so easily entertained. The ability to make a self insert and actually enjoy wanking how strong you would be is truly enviable for its ease of enjoyment. If only I be so simple. No overarching storylines, just lewd pictures and numbers going up.
>>96958341take it to cyoag bud
>>96958341 If only I be so simple.
>>96958333Maybe just run everyone at master, then? High power level seems to be desired overall.
You know what? I want to run this to satisfy my monster girl fetish it also has monster boys I guess.
>>96958392Anon, there are better cyoas for monster girl fetishism...
>>96958302>It's honestly pretty cinematic in that it's a dance where the person who makes the least mistakes is less likely to get nanites on them, focusing more on dodges and parries rather than more passive combat. That was more or less the idea, yeah. Not quite fire or poison, but if you get touched by a nanite machine your body temporarily breaks down and you're unable to act for some time. Think of it like static, or a system reboot of some kind.>>96958270I think both ideas can coexist. Those with more knowledge and tools will be able to disrupt the enemy and defend themselves with parries and maneuvers, but I'm sure nanites can also be used as projectiles, maybe to a less immediate degree than getting shanked by a nanite tool. I JUST REMEMBEREDWHERE'S THE UPDATED JITE CHART????

>>96958492>the karman line is at 100km from Earth's surfaceWTF? The CYOA actually allows this? I think the author never thought of this lmao
>>96958518Teleport Object is exactly 100km, so yes, it's allowed. It does not specify if that teleport works on other androids however.
>>96958538Nono, I remember the 100km stipulation, which is why I was surprised that the Karman line works perfectly for this. I feel like the writer never thought that this was possible

Is there really no other fantasy CYOA that can scratch that itch? The traitor journey is like half of the pages so the only thing left are the powers and legends behind them.
>>96959052Maybe the "Traitor" and original hero party are part of the ancient lore? Maybe the Traitor is the Big Bad?

>>96959062I guess the question is more like what the story is going to be at that point. Would it be like a bunch of normal parties trying to be the next heroes, or has the party long passed and the world is mostly peaceful these first few years until the real hero and traitor are reincarnated?>>96959063They give a lot of inspiration, and it's always fun to imagine how others react to the legend, but it goes back to the same question of what to do now that the traitor part isn't being played by the player?
>>96959123Kill the big bads in the cyoa? Do JRPG stuff? Dare I say, make a guild?
>>96959123Are you asking me to come up with the story or asking how we'd make it work? Because if it's the latter, I think anons could collaborate on fleshing out the setting. Like coming up with major powers, locations, etc based on what's in the CYOA to decide what the world looks like at this moment in time.
>>96959139>Dare I say, make a guildWait a minute, are you saying that the guilds aren't some centralized adventuring company like my isekais? Tone wise, what kind of JRPG are we following, or I guess what media if that's too restricting?>>96959151The latter, but I wouldn't mind knowing your idea for the former. Anons likely have very different ideas about what the journey is and how it is supposed to go down that it kinda crumbles past the intro.
>>96958988>>96958988>>96958988Hogs, roll on out! Roll for your lives!
>>96959192It's Final Fantasy adjacent iircMagitech, empires, cities of different races...Not typically Dragon Quest or isekai
>>96959192Honestly, I haven't put much thought into it. I wasn't the anon who suggested just using the setting instead of the premise. I'd probably have to reread the CYOA and then think about how the different races and empires fit together. Then think about how they could have risen and fallen over time and what would be left as a result. Making a map might help too, if there isn't one already. It's been a while since I made a build.
>>96958566I've been working on some mech OC.
You know, I think SciFi Naruto could be kinda neat. Mostly just because I like the idea of cyborg ninjas and nothing else.
>>96959784Is it even Naruto anymore and not some cyberninja thing like MGRR or whatever?
So, some OC got revealed. Anyone else want to reveal the OC they're working on but are to shy to post in the active thread?
>>96959794Idk, guess it would depend on how anons would want it to play out. I think going for an MGRR vibe would be cool. Maybe Ninja Gaiden.
>>96959965Some power armor cyoas was being suggested and it isn't too far off from that.
Never enough secret hours anymore
>>96960969I'm mixed on that. Yes, we don't have it as often since back then, there used to be a thread everyday, sometimes even 3 times a day, but it's so well known that there's some kind of secret hour every thread. Rather than an occasional thing when someone wanted to make an update, or gossip about the ongoing storylines.
