No fucking shit, everyone who has been pumping wads and wads of their mommy's cash into this fucking company since 2010 is a fucking retard that needs electroshock therapy.
The writing become a garden hose of retarded shit, the models have tripled in price including inflation, and these fucking tards are buying name-brand model paint for dollars on the penny.
If you're not pirating this shit at the very least, please do the global gaming community a favor and blind yourself

>>96948080 i've played age of sigmar a couple of times, it was kinda bad and clunky. i liked relic blade a lot more. I think GW games are not so well designed gameplay wise.
>>
>>96948080
What GW took from me was moving the main store in my area from a popular mall where people would constantly be going in and out of it, staff and people talking about the games to new people all the time, and you could spend time there as a kid while your parents did whatever other shopping they were there for, to a strip mall where the only people who would ever go in now are die-hard fans or people with games scheduled.

I know because of the internet there might not need to be that much foot traffic for GW to get traction, but it's a real shame imo

I need to start thinking of what I can proxy my new edition models as.

Would you make a fuss about someone calling a Norn Assimilator a Carnifex or a Screamer Killer and just moving on? I don't think there are proper harpoon morphs in that edition for critters that size, so I'd just call it two sets of scything claws.

Think it is a bit smaller than the Dimachaeron. Can't recall which Imperial armour it show up.
But here you can see the rules for 7th is should be similar enough for 3rd/4th the main difference would be that in those edition melee didn't had AP, a melee weapon either allowed a saved or did not.
Since it is a monstrous creature you can safely assume that it simply ignored armor saves.
>>
>>96948080
Serious question, as someone trying to get into Warhammer, what other table top wargame would you reccomend?
Hard mode: No tranny crusade or Islamity.
>>
>>96951075
Sure taste is subjective, just asking why bother at that scale when in the example shown those just look like blobs of paint.
Zoom in I can tell that maybe they guys at the front are on horses, the guys at the back some rank and file and the blob maybe a flag?
But onces you move at an arms length, they start looking off.
I say this because I play warmaster and some armies become unreadable at a distance due to the paintjob at this scale and warmaster is not this small.
I question it as a game pieces not as a painting or hobby project.

It's dirt cheap to buy 2mm so why not?
I was thinking about using painted jenga blocks too. With 2mm you can still put "big" models down and sell the visuals. I could use jenga blocks for abstract purposes.
No idea how to do 2mm terrain mind you.

As bad as GW has gotten it's factually impossible for it to be in as dire a place as MTG is when Wizards has whored it out and just turned it into fortnite: the TCG. 40k has yet to officially include rules for furbies, spider-man, or the office.
The unannounced set ended up being fucking Ninja Turtles of all things, for those curious.

Yep, have been getting into WW2 wargames using 1/72 scale models. The stuff is cheap as chips, (you can get a tank for the price of a single GW figure), I am learning stuff about REAL WORLD history (most of which is much more dynamic and interesting than the sales driven capeshit crap Black Library shits out) and I know that the models I own now will not be nurfed and replaced by yet another set of powercreeped models in a year or two just to boost sales.
>>
>>96948080
I do not care for playing tabletop games. They are all, inherently, objectively inferior to strategy video games and not worth my time. Only value of this hobby is in assembling, kitbashing, converting, sculpting and painting models.

Kirby was right all along. Just build your army and then play Dawn of War instead.

Turnip28 is cheap to get into, has a clear aesthetic that will introduce you to kitbashing, converting and painting, and the rules are dynamic, easy to understand and support you in building a collection of models you enjoy.
The thing that really sets the game apart for me is its resurrection of a sadistic streak of British humour. Not since Warhammer Fantasy 3rd Ed have I seen rules writing take such glee in horrible things happening to your own models, shitty troops and shitty commanders both.
Turnip's fucking great, and I say that comfortably in the secure knowledge that you will never play it.

Yep; Turnip factions consist mostly of ordinary, shitty troops plus some kind of armywide special rule and some kind of modelling centerpiece. My faction is allotment competition "vegetable" growers, so I made an allotment terrain piece plus markers to track what veg they're growing plus some gardener figures to actually grow the veg. If I get the urge to try another faction then I can make the centerpiece for that faction and use it alongside my regular troops; if I get the urge to make a particularly fucked-up model, I can look through the rules to see what faction might suit it best. Either way, bam, new army experience.

>>96953897
Not my snail sadly, but there is a snail knights faction if snails are your thing. Not that it would be, because snails are very Turnip and Turnip's gay as fuck!

I play Valor and Fortitude at 2mm, by converting the measurements to cm and changing nothing else. It works really well.
I'm also considering midgard at 2mm, and finding some large scale ww1 or modern rules too. It's a great scale for large battles.

If you can outline what attracts you to Warhammer (and which flavour appeals most) we’d be able to help more.

Is there a local group of people you’re wanting to join? If so you’ll probably need to play what they play, which sadly, will likely be 40K, which is a shit-tier game with a premium price tag.

If you want a platoon-plus-sized mass battle game, Bolt Action (WW2) plays better, is better written, easier to learn, and much, much cheaper.

If you want more of a skirmish game, Trench Crusade is decent, has a nice aesthetic, the rules are free online and you can kitbash or proxy models, making it as cheap or expensive as you like.

If you want a campaign skirmish game and don’t mind fantasy, Mordheim has you covered, see Broheim dot net for rules, supplements etc. Also cheap because of proxies and kitbashes. Just be aware that for maximum fun you should play in a campaign with minimum 4 players, and up to 10-12.

Turnip28 is excellent and not gay in the least and a good introduction into not!Napoleonics. It also has a fun aesthetic all of its own.

Not sure how popular it is any more, but for regiment-level WW2 in a smaller scale, Flames of War is a good choice.

My advice? Start small with an affordable game to see if wargaming is for you. The only reasons to play 40K are that you’re a tournament autist, or you like the aesthetic, or that you are a white-male-hating autogynephilic translesbian BLM supporter, or you simply have too much money and need to find a way to get rid of it with nothing to show for it.
