Because so far, the only major defeat the Imperium has ever suffered has come at the hands of Chaos. Chaos was responsible for the Imperium's downfall post-Horus Heresy, it was responsible for splitting the Imperium in half, Chaos was responsible for the Imperium losing half of its army and being the disorganized mess it is today.

By contrast, Orks have failed to take Armageddon 3 times in a row, Necrons haven't really achieved anything of note other than watch their superweapons get destroyed, the Tyranids have yet to eat a world the Imperium cares about, the Tau have yet to conquer a world the Imperium cares about, the Eldar are literal who's, and the Drukhari are a minor pest at most.

Space marines, particularly primaris, weigh roughly 800 pounds naked.
They're wearing roughly 600 kilos of basic armour. Then he's got the jump pack that's at least another 200 kilos.
Then another 100 kilos of weapons and ammo, not including if he'd be hauling a heavy weapon.

Are there indian chapters in 40k? With the dominance of Indians all over the world now, I think GW needs to hire more indians for their own internal staff and use some of their black people marketing budget for indians. The 2nd and 11th can be utilized for this purpose as well.

On the one hand, I love the idea that we get options between scything talons and various melee morphs, the weird unspoken rule where "ZE RANGED RAVENER VILL HAVE ZE TRIDACTYLE HANDS!! 1. It's not just the nids.
2. Nids eating literally everything, down to extracting all the useful metals from the mantle is no longer the case. That indeed was their initial behavior (presumably because the previous galaxy was incredibly resource-poor by the time they were done with it), but now they just skim the readily available resources off the top and move on because it's more efficient. Nowadays a nid-eaten planet can be terraformed back into liveability given enough time and resources. Not saying Titus is tasked with doing that, to be clear.

I kind of fucking hate these raveners, man. They got rid of the swept back crest, and they gave it this weird egg beak instead of the old rat fangs. It's funny you post a rat, but this is one of the main three things that really irk me about the redesign.
>No more warrior crest, nu-raveners have Gaunt heads with bits attached
>No more vent fins on the back shell
>Beaks instead of incisors

I do really like the wrecker, it's got the crushing claws and I'm a sucker for the Red Terror-style split-jaw. The rest of the KT box is honestly too much change. The one with the six bendy antennae looks bad, the one with the sponge face looks fucking awful.

Ha, thanks. The red were supposed to have been my version of the farsight 8, but some of the loadouts are just nonsense. So I built 4 of them (before the farsight resculpt) and called it. The rest are still tan, blue, and black. But I like to make commanders unique for my benefit, so that I dont mistake one for another.

yeah, warhammer stores these days tend to be fairly professional and clean. most of the actual greasy oily dank shops run by an equally greasy oily dank ogre tend to go out of business pretty quickly because they repel new customers which loses them money. plus a lot of times those shops were often run as personal hangouts for the owners friends more so than out of an actual interest in making money, so its been my experience that they dont tend to last more than 4 or 5 years

serious store owners are clean, hire friendly young staff, business casual or store branded polo Ts and lanyards, clean shop, etc.

you'll still run into the occasional rats nest here or there but i think since dnd and hobbying has become more mainstream over the last 10-15 years that stuff has become a lot less common than it used to be.
>>
>>96961134
not to mention with the price of these toys these days the only people you see in actual wargaming sections are either well kempt because they have a salary that supports this hobby, fat and slovenly because they live off their parents stolen credit card, or under 18 and destined to become one of the previous two

no most of the wargamers these days are late 30s to mid 40s dad with a stable job and a beerbelly types. i think between the two flgs i visit, i can count on ten fingers the number of players that dont fit into that bracket. the younger kids have been priced out of the hobby, and are just into different stuff these days anyways. and i've never heard of anyone stealing a parents credit card to pay for warhammer. i know they call it "plastic crack" but its not actually crack.

now magic cards, thats another story. those guys are actual crack fiends for the shit, and average about 10 years younger than the wargaming crowd

so whats the point in the lore if its confirmed chaos wins and that the chaos gods are actually the most powerful beings and its confirmed also they arent even focused at all on the war against the imperium? for them its basically just a minor distraction, like when we play a video game. with chaos confirmed the triumphant faction the lore seems kind of pointless, as its confirmed that nobody can beat them. and this was also how games workshop concluded warhammer fantasy, as chaos was impossible to beat and conquered the old world, thus ending the lore.

Fomo box with new character models locked in it surrounded by tons of ancient kits and a preposterous pricetag.
Eldar fags are also notoriously patient and don't buy fomo boxes and just wait for individual releases (because most of them own all the twenty year old models already). So they just rotted on the shelves forever and lots of stores had to break them open and part them out. GW hasn't made an Eldar battleforce of any kind since.

Right /40kg/ there's probably 7 months left of this edition and I haven't played it yet.

How do I play eldar in 10th? What's the goto detachments and units? I want a lost that has a solid chance to win despite my naivety.
>>
>>96961887
elaborate
>>
>>96962083
Fulgrim married women on Chemos for political reasons, so Angron is just an imitator at best.
>>
>>96962115
It's an edition that's perhaps even more infantry-heavy than usual for Eldar. You're playing positioning with Hawks and Spiders with Banshees, Dragons and Reapers to provide the firepower. Phoenix Lords are having their moment in the sun, to the extent that tournament lists are often running 4-5 (Fuegan, Jain Zar and the new Lhykhis are mainstays, while Maugan Ra and Asurmen see some play, as does pseudo-PL Eldrad).
Detachment-wise, Warhost and Aspect Host provide a lot of consistency without adding too much complexity or forcing a gimmick and accordingly, they're probably the strongest overall, but you can get away with basically anything other than the Grotmas vehicle detachment - I've enjoyed Seer Council in particular and Windrider Host is very fun if you've got the horde of bikes that it wants lying around from 7e or are playing in TTS.
>>
>>96962115
Just play what you like. They've got a detachment for everything and all of them are reasonably good. The current hotness is Aspect warrior spam in the detachment that supports that but that will likely get nerfed next month anyway.
>>
>>96962157
I've only got 20 bikes, + 3 seers on bike. how many do I need for wind rider?

Aspect host might benthe go for me then, do i bother with transports? Also are scorpions bad? Or just because they don't have a phoenix lord to leverage?

I notice you didnt mention wraiths?
>>
>>96962149
It's funny that the Primarch who is memed to be a faggot had multiple wives.
>>
>>96962207
Thats because women generally like a dash of sensitivity/sensualness or even femininity in men while that is perceived as weakness in machismo culture.
>>
>>96962207
There's a moment in the Heresy books where Jaghatai derides Fulgrim that does "something" with his legionares. But it's never elaborated on.
>>
>>96962181
>I've only got 20 bikes, + 3 seers on bike. how many do I need for wind rider?
20 bikes is more than enough - you're limited to 3x6 at most at the moment. I think the Seer count is around right too. You might need some Spears and some of the new Shroud Runners, but you could put together something workable.

>Aspect host might benthe go for me then, do i bother with transports? Also are scorpions bad? Or just because they don't have a phoenix lord to leverage?
None of the Aspects except arguably Avengers post-Asurmen nerf are bad. Scorpions are another set of good objective pieces alongside Spiders and Hawks; they've got the ever desirable Scout/Infiltrate combo.

>I notice you didnt mention wraiths?
They've got a dedicated detachment where they shine, but they're playable if not always optimal elsewhere. D-scythe Wraithguard are solid (Wraithcannon ones tend to just be a bad value proposition compared to Fire Dragons) - they're competing with Warlocks in the S7 flamer niche with pros and cons to both options. Wraithblades feel a bit mediocre to me, but they're fine. Wraithlords are good with a babysitter and were very useful in Ynnari before that was nerfed into the ground. Wraithknights were, like all Knights, a mistake. They broke the game in half at the start of the edition and are currently properly unplayable.

Interesting that some of the best winrate armies didn't actually perform as well over 8 games at Worlds as some other armies. I wonder if that's due to relative skill level of the player bases or just inconsistency in their performance.

>>

Forgot to add - transports are definitely useful. Both the Serpent and the Falcon have their niches, with the Serpent being very nice for general use and the Falcon being very good at delivering a bomb (typically 5 Dragons and Fuegan or 4 Warlocks and Eldrad) to wherever it needs to be.

It was pretty clear what Jaghatai meant if you actually read the book. This is yet another thing memed by secondaries. No, that's specifically said in the most recent CWE codex.
Also it makes perfect sense.

When Slaanesh was born and the Eye of Terror formed, it swallowed up all of the eldar home worlds which by this point had practically been taken over by the degenerate, faggot pleasure cults.
While the Craftworlders at same time made their escape because they realized the birth of Slaanesh was inevitable and the degenerate retards couldn't be helped and it'd be preferable to let them all die.
Meaning most of the actual degenerates, ie. proto dark eldar who are responsible for Slaanesh died in that very moment.

VERY FEW of them actually managed to get into the webway and then into the place that'd eventually become Commoragh we see today.
All the DEIdar we see nowadays are just descendants of a very lucky few that managed get into the webway.

This is also wrong. Before the Fall the worst of the worst came and created Commoragh just as the normies boarded Craftworlds. They didn't escape the Fall to Commoragh, they were there before the fall.
>>
>>96961745
Several reasons
The box was very clearly a "Ynnari starter box" in GW's mind, as the conflict in it was centered around the Ynnari and featured both Eldar and Dark Eldar. The issue with that is that Ynnari couldn't use Jain Zar or Drazhar, the two spotlight models of the box, which meant you would still need to buy the full Triumvirate to get the ball rolling.
On the model side of things, outside of Jain Zar, Drazhar, and their respective updated squads, everything in the box was ancient at the time and players of either army would have had multiple of them.
The box was vastly overpriced and there was literally zero upside to getting it rather than just waiting for the individual releases, and given that both factions have players who are fine with waiting that's exactly what happened.
>>
>>96962414
Do you think there are more Dark Eldar or Custodes in the Galaxy?
>>
>>96962408
I have my reasons.
>>
>>96962437
Something looks off with the scale on the second one. Is the new archon slightly bigger than the old one (and the rest of the range)?
>>
>>96962414
>VERY FEW of them actually managed to get into the webway and then into the place that'd eventually become Commoragh we see today.
Except thats why there's a fuck ton of vatborn drukhari that make up the vast majority of the drukhari race.
>>
>>96962470
Kind of correct, but remember modern Commoragh is also a gestalt of thousands of sperate Webway cities connected by portals now as the city grew and overtook them and integrated all of them into the one city.
And also the former high command got barbequed by the Salamanders at Vect's invitation so now the forner underclass is ruling in place of the old nobility
>>
>>96962484
I think people my misunderstand what the half-born are and that leads to this pervasive misconception that Commoragh has an infinitely large population.
Half-born are not clones, but extracted fetuses from unwilling mothers raised in a glass coffin to maturity to free up the mother from a long and debilitating pregnancy that would leave her too vulnerable to survive. The Haemonculi just often take the as orphans raised with debt to pay back.

I found out that this Ork Buddha was a statue made by the Imperium that was defaced by the orks. And not a new or secret ork god.
Which makes much more sense of course but I like to imagine by own personal misunderstandings of the settings as also being in-universe misunderstanding. Like a xenos inquistor spent a a year trying to figure out all these different orks gods before learning they're all Gork'n'Mork and defaced human statues.

Major secondary sources are written with GW watching over them like a hawk making sure everything is canon. Its a big advertisment for the setting to normies so GW help shape it in a way to be a playable main fluff story, hence its a splinter fleet attacking some irrelvant world and then attacked by TS, who can ALL be resurrected, rubrics by socerers, and socerers by Magnus on their psyker school planet, so nothing changes.

>Necron (Mostly characters like Trayzn and The Deceiver, a Destroyer Lord too I suppose)

Everything else is serviceable at the very least. Vehicles like the Land Raider and Wave Serpent still hold up well despite their age.

I think the 8th edition corebook is the first that specifically says Craftworlders are the most numerous. But it also specifically says that the majority of the Craftworld population are dead souls. Later books just say they're the most numerous and leave out the mention of the dead part.

Also, Craftworlds can be bigger than hive cities

Horus heresy is just a glorified army painter simulator. It'll never happen.
>>
>>96964084
Yeah that's what I was implying. Either that or every modelposter is ignoring him.
>>
>>96964097
Stop posting like you're butting into a conversation to change the subject and maybe you'll get people willing to treat you with something other than contempt. This is the only reply I will make.
>>
>>96964109
You're the worst thing to ever happen in this thread, PERIOD!

Ok dumbo, I have not done anything at all especially these last 3-4 months but keep being an antagonistic bastard.
>>
>>96964134
not at all
benposting was legitimate harassment and schizophrenia
people telling the mutt to kill himself is warranted after 2 years of him shitting up the thread
>>
>>96964037
This, but unironically
>>
>>96964143
It hasnt even been a year yet, anon.
>>
>>96964143
But you're the one shitting up the thread, I have done nothing this entire thread but post models. Do you even have a conscience?

Why do you still come here doing the same shit that made everyone hate you when you already know that everyone hates you and isn't going to engage with you in any kind of positive way

He's a narcissist so he probably did it himself since he's desperate for attention even if it's negative

It will never happen because GW is retarded, unfortunately.

So what’s the point of living when it’s confirmed that entropy will eventually cause the heat-death of the universe? No point at all, you should kill yourself immediately.

It’s not a ‘space marine game’ originally, it was just made that way when GW decided to flush 30+ years of Marine players’ collections down the toilet to force rebuys.
The current state of the game may be ‘the most balanced’ it’s ever been but it’s also incredibly boring to play and completely soulless.
These two are linked by a shitty philosophy that wants 40K to be the global tabletop equivalent of StarCraft in the South Korean esports scene.
Buy buy buy to be competitive oh look new marine units buy buy buy
It’s scummy as fuck and I have no doubt we’ll see other popular lines and models “sent to legends” to force rebuys once the Nottingham hookers and blow trust gets down to its last 30 million or so.

>The dangers of executing a warp jump while within a gravity-well are known to every voidcraft captain of the Imperium. If done so, the warp rift used by the vessel won't immediately clench shut after passing through and will instead grow to engulf anything nearby in warp and gravitational anomaly. This invariably unleashes untold ruination upon the local area post-departure.[

Has the imperium used this in a weaponized way before, like against the Tau or Tyranids?
