Thinking about picking it up for my group since I love Weird West/Gothic Western stuff, anything I should need to know before getting it? Especially as I'll be using Foundry VTT.Also general tips for running it and all would be nice as well.
Shit, forgot to mention I've already read over the setting a LONG while back, though I think it was before The Weird West that dropped around '21, just never ran it and I'm still a beginner GM.
I prefer Weird Frontiers for DCC.
>>96975459It's Savage Worlds, which is a system I like because it has *Strengths* In that you have quick to resolve fights against simple mooksBut also you have to put some care into prepping maps so things don't boil down to fishing for high rolls and shotgun multi-action-tagCoffin Rock is the best premade adventure since it actually used the Fear Level system.
>>96975459All I remember about this setting is that the developers got really into emphasizing how the Confederacy lost and slavery is bad.
>>96977438They were dixie-boo's until current year when whoever's in charge did some retcon where the Confederacy loses or something. No idea if they bothered updating the post-West books like Noir and the Post-Apoc one.
>>96977511They weren't Dixieboos, they just had the Confederacy manage to survive as part of their alternate history. Then it became le problematic to even entertain the possibility
>>96977438Yeah IIRC that was the main gist of the '21 rewrites. I'm still gonna be running the old lore if I can because I like how you can use the tension of America split in half after a horrific stalemate to make some good stories and characters.
>>96977555No, they did a bunch of lost cause bullshit. It wasn't every author, but there were a few authors of the old line that were 100 percent dixieboos.
>>96978757Well they over corrected like usual with current year shitlib writers
>>96979191Nah, the new setting is just fine.
>>96977330Wasn't there used to be a Savage Worlds thread on the regular or does it need to be brought back like the Delta Green one was or possibly have Deadlands possibly be it's own thread? Though to be honest I was also the one that started that DG thread revival and wouldn't mind doing the same for Deadlands.
>>96982913Fucking goddamnit, meant to say "Didn't there".Anyways, if I were to make a Deadlands thread, what would be some good stuff to put in it, since I'll already be hunting down copies of all the PDFs for all the editions/games.
