Shitpost-sounding question, but something I was thinking about the other day: How do you guys think Elven ovulation and menstrual cycles work? Human women have a definitive amount of eggs, and once they run out they go through menopause. If Elves do the same thing, how long is their cycle? In settings like LotR or Warcraft, Elves can live forever unless they get killed, so would they just run out of eggs at some point and be barren for the rest of time, or do they magically generate more eggs? Maybe the reason Elves have such low birth rates is because they run out of eggs after a century or so. What do you guys think?

It's about 300 years, they become "adults" in their early 30's, and are considered old in their early 200's. I imagine a Mer's fertility starts in her mid 20's, though having precocious pregnancies is a large health risk so mid 30's is probably the age where pregnancy is acceptable in their 30's. They seem to stagnate their adulthood from 60 to 150, and start aging past that so I'm thinking 150 is the rough age of geriatric pregnancy. Menopause would then start around 190. Granted, TES has relatively short lives for their elves compared to other settings, 300 is long but it's not "lived to watch civilizations rise and fall" old.
