Bonus points for pictures!
Lost 0-1 to my friends Nobility with Chaos. Rough start for the 2025 BB edition but fun. Got greedy woth a foul and rusty.
What's the beat way to go about getting into necromunda
>>97028005Choose a house gang to start with, probably best to start there before mixing it up with Enforcers/Spyrers/Venators etc.And try to play for fun and narrative rather than WAAC, necromunda is an easy game to break if you're going all out to minmax
In Mordheim, do people consider Mootlanders to just be sling spam the warband and no fun, or is there a way to play them that is fun for everyone? Maybe their Stunned on a 2-4 rule and T2 make them easy enough to kill that the sling and bow spam isn't so bad? They look like fun models but I hate to invest the time if they just make people mad
>>97028129They're probably fine if you just take regular bows, they're an aggressively "fair" ranged weapon even in the hands of cheap BS4 fighters.
>>97028549that is true. I think bows and clubs with the intent to push up and encircle would be reasonably fun to play/play against
May someone pretty please redpill me on House Goliath and/or House Orlock? While I do eventually want to do a Ratskins Outcasts gang I realize I should probably stick to one of the clan houses first. Assume I know nothing (cuz I don’t) besides Goliath look buff and Orlock look like greasers
I'm so glad GW called out those chats in the community for daring to sustain their game while they didn't support it. Heil corporate!
>>97029694Meant to call them chuds, not chats. Damn autocorrect.
>>97029655>Goliath: Big dudes with the ability to fuck with their stats on recruitment via gene mods - up means higher costs, higher growth caps, whilst down means lower costs, lower growth caps. Big on melee>OrlockGeneralists that could get the silver medal in any role - big on fancy ammo types, so shotguns and grenade launchers feature heavily in their weapon loadouts. Get fancy titles for weird niche benefits.
>>97029694>>97029697Just more GW seething, nothing new unfotunately>>97029698I meant moreso flavor wise but it'd good to know how they play as well. I got old scans of both Goliaths and Orlocks (plastics and metals) so I'm honestly torn which to go with for N23 or whatever people call the current edition. I also bought recasts of the Mercator Sanguis slaver guys cuz they look cool. IDK if that matters at all towards my selection
>>97029694If they went this far, they must feel threatened need to gaslight new players.
>>97029737>flavor wiseGoliath are gene-modded thugs with stereotypically low braincell count and large weaponry, Orlock are biker-miners out to make a buck from the various ore deposits around Hive Primus.
>>97029791Neat. Might go with Goliath since the older scans look cool, got a guy with a meltagun who has a chainsaw mohawk
>>97029746It is probably just one of the writers having a chip on their shoulder that the older editions are better and more beloved than their needless rehash made just to retain the IP and force sales of new kits.
>>97029841Its not as useful as nerves of steel, but make him a champion and give him the headbutt skill so he can actually use his mohawk as a weapon>>97029737>Mercator SanguisThey're fun and have a strong alliance with house goliath both lore and rules-wise
>>97030095>so he can actually use his mohawk as a weaponKino>They're fun What matters most besides their cool factor, thanks anon! IK their rules are in the Goliath book which is good, I was originally gonna buy the Mercator Nautica guys but found out their rules are in the Escher book, a clan house i have zero interest in, so went with the slavers. Besides the Goliath book and the core rules (obviously), what other book should I get for running Goliaths with or without the Mercator Sanguis peeps
>>97030114Mercator Sanguis are in the back of House of Chains/Goliath book so youre all good there
>>97030188Beautiful, thanks!
>>97029655Goliath are tough and they can modify their stats to do something insane, or wacky. Goliaths are the easiest one to kitbash due to their bulky build, making Space Marine and Orks bits more compatible with them.Orlock has the best driver in Necromunda, Orlock Wrecker is the fastest infantry in Necromunda without any buff, and they can be even faster with Grease Monkey buff. Normal Orlock are decent at shooting while the Arms Masters are decent at close combat with a strong unique weapon : arc hammer. While Arms Masters aren't particularly too crazy like the other gang's melee monster, Wreckers can promote into Arms Masters, and became a melee monster with arc hammer and insane speed. One other good things about Orlock is their weapon upgrade is the best out of every gangs in the game. It had every guns you need, even a left and right version of Plasma pistol and Bolt Pistol so you can make a dual wiled pistol fighter.
>>97030313>or wackySold
>>97030377Orlock can get wackier with legendary names and overcharged Wreckers, being maniacs on Jump boosters that chug bombs, blast people with shotgun, or mangle people in close combat. It would be a bit too long if i wrote all of these in their summary, as Orlock usually got the "automated google search summary" "They're jack of all trades" when people asked about them, no they're the Jackass of all trade as overcharged wreckers can also explode on a bad roll. But you can just be boring and use the jump boosters in safe mode.
>>97030491>But you can just be boring and use the jump boosters in safe mode.Lame>no they're the Jackass of all trade as overcharged wreckers can also explode on a bad roll.Extremely based, could do them as my second or third gang then. Could be kino
is it true that neither the khemri or brettonian SPIKE magazines have new star players? I was really hoping for ramtut to return
>>97028129They have high initiative, so I’ve thought taking them with spears and shields might be fun.
Noob question for N23, can a grenade launcher fire any type of grenade or just Frag, Krak, and Smoke? Asking for a Goliath roster
>>97031169You can go to trading post and buy any grenade ammo for it under the Grenade launcher tag. If you however, have a grenade launcher-like weapon but not a grenade launcher, like Ironhead Grenade Launcher, or Grenade Launcher as part of a combi weapon, you cannot buy ammo for the grenade launcher on those weapons, just ammo avaiable to that weapons. Also if you ran out of ammo on a GL, you can use the easier ammo roll profile to reload it, like 4+ smoke.
>>97031209>Also if you ran out of ammo on a GL, you can use the easier ammo roll profile to reload it, like 4+ smoke. So it comes with the Smoke/Frag/Krak ammo types without me having to buy those grenades separately? Or am I misunderstanding horribly cuz I'm retarded? I wanted to use smoke grenades, incendiary charges, and blast charges for my normal GL but no clue if I can
>>97031169Look at the entry in the Trade Post section of N23. Your options are whatever ammo is available from your Fighter entry, or whatever ammo options are available from the TP assuming you can acquire them via a Trade post-game action and that Fighter has the ability to get the appropriate Weapon category from the TP. Unless you group is treating extra ammo types as Wargear.
>>97031238TYVM anon, am retarded
>>97031220>So it comes with the Smoke/Frag/Krak ammo types without me having to buy those grenades separately? No, the 55 credit you pay for the Grenade Launcher for goliath only give you frag and krak, you need to pay 15 for smoke and another 15 for stun round.>incendiary charges, and blast charges for my normal GLNo you can only buy the ammo for GL that is allowed, GL do not use hand grenade from the grenade weapon category, they are 2 different things. Blasting and Demo charge are literally bundle of dynamites and C4, not even fit inside a GL tube. Also note that the profile reloading is for reload only, it meant you already failed your ammo roll, if you fire a frag and need to do ammo check, you cannot switch to the smoke profile for the check.
>>97031292>Also note that the profile reloading is for reload only, it meant you already failed your ammo roll, if you fire a frag and need to do ammo check, you cannot switch to the smoke profile for the check.Good to know>you need to pay 15 for smokeExcellent, thank you as well
>>97031283No it is a fair question. You will run into a lot of this stuff until you get more familiar with the game. Even then you will still probably be finding shit you overlooked by mistake.
>>97031300Cawdor do allow you to strap your hand grenade to a rat and let it ran toward the target. Way better than a GL......... actually it's terrible and super meme, but also funny.
>>97027864Bad, playing narrative Warcry and my dudes lost AND 2 guys died.At least the previous week I went 3-1 at a Warcry event
>>97031336It is the most embarrassing thing for your opponent to lose a fighter to it, though, so there's that.
>>97029962Like the new necromunda. People want to like it, but GW sure as hell makes an effort to make it as annoying as to play with DLC format, cards, random releases, etc.Playing this crap without mundamanager or necroraw is extra work that my old ass does not have.
>>97032438Necromunda is fine now that we have N23 rulebook. Yes it is annoying how they do new releases for existing gangs but PDFs are easy to pirate. Still better than how Gang War was going at N17 launch. Not putting an equivalent dice table in N23 though was unforgivable. Absolute cunt act that was.
>>97032438This. How is anyone meant to actually get into anything mid-edition these days?
>>97032548Get into? You're supposed to buy the product, then fuck off until next product is available.
>>97032548Necromunda is in an odd place at the moment since N23 was the rules consolidation book and covers like 80% of what you need insofar as being learning the rules. It is arguably better than having to settle for another specialised Boxed Set book, but the fact they don't also do a template and dice set to sell along side the book itself is stupid. Especially since they don't give you the proprietary dice equivalent tables in the book which would at least fix up part of that. However despite that it it is still one of the easier GW games to get into overall, at least in terms of buy in even if solely relying on legit retail purchase. But they are 100% shooting themselves in the foot not having a simple starting bundle to sell. GW fails in general understanding how to push and promote product since it would rather die as a business than give anyone a discount via their store.
>>97032484You can't really buy the templates or dice. You just need to hope someone has stock of older dice or starters.Same with the cards. It's just bizarre that part of the things needed to play are trap in out of productions kits.
>>97032626If they included the vehicle dice in the newer gang dice sets it would be one thing. But even those don't stay in production so it ends up as a moot point. Templates could at least be handled as a PDF as annoying as that might be. The inclusion of the card stuff in the newer gang books is good I will give them that, but they did entire limited time sets of the shit that doesn't appear in any book. Complete clusterfuck.
>>97032438Why wouldn't you play it without MM and Necroraw?
>>97032731I've known people that play regular 40k without wahapedia or newrecruit. Just because there is an official GW app for list building and they can buy the cards for the missions
>>97032731The rules are fragmented into multiple books, free download, White dwarf, and FAQ. Every other books add some addition to the game, like an item, or a hired gun, then there're more of those from the "free download". Some books also introducing new type of campaign into the game. Yeah so just play without the addition? Oh did you know the book you owned also got FAQ, and the FAQ are made from an image that you can't search for words unless you have a reader that detect words? And about the free download, good luck looking at the title and figure out what is inside. "Bonedry and Broke"? what is this suppose to mean? Oh right it's the new rule for an entire Venator gang, minus the psyker upgrade part, which is in a different book and not there.Even for the extreme autistic having Necroraw is way faster and more convenient to answer question from newb and point them to where to look, rather than open up the book and start flipping through the pages.
>>97032823>FAQ are made from an image that you can't search for wordsWhat in the actual fuck, who does that?
>>97032823The funny part about that is that the FAQ hasn't been updated since Ash Wastes.
>>97032839GW.
>>97032839Nu Necromunda has been a success despite GW trying to make it fail

>>97031336>>97032423My rat bombs have had their moments. Nobody really plans for a 5" incendiary bomb to zip into their face. Sometimes if you're lucky you can have a few rats running around for fun.

>>97035298Cheers, been trying to track that one down for a bit
>>97029694I posted this image on plebbit originally, interesting to see it shared as Ragebait here. The reactions I received to this (ranging from new people going "this is just about the in-universe NAF, people telling me "it's just a game bro", people going "your post is too long" and just generally being absolute assholes because I dared to criticize the multimillion dollar corporation) have made me decide to not bother trying to actually open up about my emotions or make long, explanatory messages and instead just make sardonic comments and insults, since apparently that is where we're at now. I also finally had enough and will move fully onto 3D-printing and other manufacturers over GW. Like, holy shit, I thought GW was insanely incompetent but that is just actively malicious.I've always found it funny that 4chan seems to have more polite people and on-topic discussion than the average Twitter conversation.
Starting the new blood bowl season 3 box and this is my test model. First time using contrast paints for most of the model. I think it looks solid? Sorry for poopy iphone camera.

>>97036724Much appreciated anon
>>97036399It is the inclusion of the 'few results' and 'chamber of echoes' part that turn what would have otherwise been a cheeky joke acknowledgment of the NAF into a needlessly spiteful barb. It is really poor form from them but not really surprising from GW. I mean the assholes tried to hold a whole edition of BB hostage once because they saw people use 3rd party models in tournaments for Star Players that had no official model.
>>97036975>the assholes tried to hold a whole edition of BB hostage once because they saw people use 3rd party models in tournaments for Star Players that had no official model. Can you elaborate? Or link an article that explains in detail?
>>97037164This was back when Specialist existed the first time and I think it was for LRB5 or thereabouts. BB was still more or less supported via Specialist and thriving but that was back before Chapterhouse and you could have rules for things without a model existing for it. So the game had a ton of Star Player profiles that didn't have models because Specialist could only get so much stuff made since they were more or less a side hustle as far as GW was concerned. 3rd party physical models were around back then and basically had no real issues so long as the manufacturer played the nudge nudge wink wink naming convention when selling them. But invariably people bought said 3rd party models and used then in tournaments that had GW prize support. Keep in mind not GW organised tournaments, just ones that had GW put up a couple boxes for prizes. But they saw people using 3rd party models and cracked the shits and said they would have to pull prize support from any tournament that allows 3rd party models being used, and that they wouldn't release the next version of the rulebook unless this whole practice stopped. All because people dare use non-GW models for SPs that had no official GW model. Eventually the rulebook was released though and in true GW style instead of just making the models they decided it better to yeet every SP from the rules they didn't make a model for since that fixed the problem as far as they were concerned. That is most definitely part of what contributed to the formation of the NAF and the move away from GW being the arbiter of BB.
Any norse blood bowl coaches here? Trying to decide if I want to pick up a zerk or two linos instead
>>97038028two linos, block is nice defensively but your players are not wearing any armor so they will be KO'd and die quick despite having it
>>97032626Had to get mine from baron of dice
>>97038088What's the argument for zerks? That primary strength access (especially now where I believe you can't random secondaries) is big and that frenzy, if you know what you're doing with it, can be great?Since I'm already running a yeti, I feel like I want more consistency and bodies.
>>97037224>and that they wouldn't release the next version of the rulebook unless this whole practice stoppedBut the BBRC was community, not GW?
>>97037224I can't find this, I did find that a 2016 GW tournament had this happen, but nowhere can I find this for a non-GW tournament, and no mention anywhere of anything about an LRB being "held hostage" or anything that could be described in that way. When it comes to BB news that involves GW I'm a secondary (I got into BB under the LRB and over a decade of me playing before I was even fully aware that GW owned it) so I thought I missed something, but yeah, can't find anything exactly as youve described.
What's the worst BB team?
>>97040924The one you lose with
We've been mainly playing Sevens lately—Skaven showed up and turned this into a score fest: 3 scores each after 12, so we decided it in extra time, where the Vampires finally ran out of Thralls, 4-3 to the ratmen
>>97040540>>97040847This happened in the 2000's from memory, so it isn't surprising that you can't find much if anything on it. Entirely possible that it was close to 20 years ago. It ended up being the last official ruleset Specialist before it moved to being community driven since Specialist went bye bye.
Is there a similar image of this ship from a top down angle? Did it ever have a model?
>>97041471No, the one you don't have fun playing.

Can anyone share the PDF of the new Blood Bowl rulebook? Thanks in advance.
I finished painting my new Middenheimer warband.
>>97043016OHH, now I'm finding it.That's funny, this seems to have been a huge factor in my being unaware of GW's ownership when I started playing during this period, the LRB6 was being used it just didn't have the corporate blessing, and really who the fuck cares about that? In retrospect it would have been better if that situation had never been "resolved".Seeing as rules mechanics aren't subject too trademark/copyright, the BBRC should have used that as an opportunity to separate the game from GW, give it their own name and changed the few names that GW has legal hold over (like Slann but not Wood Elves, etc...) and keep the community game as a ommunity game forever.I mean you still have loads of people like myself who have been playing in that environment for almost 20 years and don't see how a corporation deciding to make a fuss about Intellectual Property has anything to do with the gaming table, but you also have a crowd of stockholm syndrome grogs and brainwashed newbs that for some ineffable reason seem to think GW is a divine entity which must be obeyed, which could have been circumvented by renaming it "Fantasy Football" and emancipating GW involvement.
>>97045672Those are clearly Space Wolf housecarls.
>>9704567210/10, would feud with in the city of the damned.
>>97040924Hard to say as the tiers are kind of compressed these days, and it depends on playstyle. I've just spent a season with Khorne though, and honestly I kind of hate them. You have very little imput into whether you win or lose and games feel like they go down to "how good are you at rolling high on 2d6" and nothing else. You have no passing game, you have no good runners, you just hit things, as the blood god ordained. They're as boring as dwarves to play but dont even have their high armour or access to Block. Norse are probably better as at least they get Valkyries for ball related nonsense and starting with widespread Block is much more useful than Frenzy, which can be as much of a hindrance than a help.Levelling Khorne up is pretty boring as well, as the first skill you have to give everyone is block. At least with Renegades you have a bit of leeway and can give someone a random mutation and then use that to build from there.Between you and me though. 3 big guys all with Tentacles is hilarious. For me. Not for my opponents though. Also, shadowing being devious now means that Renegade Marauders can easily have both. Of course under those circumstances, you'd just hit the guy, but still.
>>97045761Realistically those that care about playing the basically perfect and balanced game that had been cultivated by the community will play the older ruleset. The zoomers that came in from BB16 will play the GW slop with its needless changes and additions and removals done at the whim of a capricious corporation whose only concern is pushing new kit sales. Given sufficient time GW will invariably change things up enough to piss off the current zoomers and they will become jaded proto-grogs and the cycle will start anew. At least I still have my BB Chaos Edition on PC to play.
Are Forge Born any decent in Necromunda for Goliaths or should Is tick with Bullies?
>>97048302Forgeborn is the only prospect that can be used as fodder unlike the other gang's prospect who need to be protected (or at least played conservatively, like Wreckers) due to them being not cheap. Downside is no brute cleaver and S3. Upside is obvious.
>>97048472>played conservatively>WreckersLol, lmao even. They are for suicide bombing with demo charges.
>>97048754Based>>97048472I bought the Stimmers & Forge Born kit since I wanted one stimmer and can’t decide what to do with the Forge Born. I don’t like that the juves are meant to use the normal ganger kit, looks weird to me but it’s whatever. I guess I could work something out with them. Good to know I can play recklessly with them, thanks!
>>97049194Forge born model kinda suck, World Eaters Jakhals are way better alternative, also you kinda want to buy the chainaxe or chainsword. on them too. I've turned Forge born into something else.
Question about Warcry 2e box sets & terrain: Are there any major differences or is it mostly just "X box has X centerpiece and Y box has Y centerpiece"? I know the later ones only had like one extra terrain bit
>>97049885The trees are reused, but they switch up the branches placement so it looks different. Each box have different terrain aside from the tree but they follow the same pattern : platforms and walkway to connect them. The later one is pretty much just a platform.
>>97049914hmm ok. I might be fine with terrain, I bought Catacombs and I REALLY don't think I need to flood a KT sized board with obstacles when most units can't shoot that far.
>>97049924also the ghur terrain have terrible board coverage due to the trees being multiple parts and the branches also took huge chunk out of the sprue. But they have gimmick that come with them, like the big tree and the pit can eat people, and the small tree can beat people up, pyramid and frog shrine can shoot laser. All the trees shit are too expensive, and if you by chance buy from GW, avoid the maw pit at all cost, that's a botched kit and everything didn't fit at all, leave huge ass gap.
>>97049955>>97049924Like he said, Ghur terrain is much more sparse. It's not too bad, just use more terrain than the terrain cards recommend. The 1e stuff like Red Harvest and the OG set are much better, only problem is finding them

>>97052081>TACTICAL ROCKS CRANKED UP TO 11!Nigger what? That's weaksauce, tiny connection points, probably super easy to remove. You want real annoying tactical rocks, go play Infinity.
>>97052271You can remove the connection points sure, the sculpt still doesn't have it's legs posed in a manner to sit on a flat base, or even on the right size of base, you can see in that picture the extend past the edge of the base.
>>97052271Or pic related if you want to maximize the number of tactical rocks per box rather than size. They were a huge issue/meme at this point and I'm pretty sure CB added them on purpose.Enough Infinityposting from me, now back to your scheduled shitting on GW.
>>97052288Yes, but even with uneven posing you can easily repose the model to sit well on a flat base (is it plastic or resin? If hard plastic, it's trivial), or reduce the size and type of base filler by like 80%. Barely worth a fleeting annoyed thought, let alone crying over extreme base rocks. Now if you find me a way to put the robot cat from >>97052271 on a flattish base, I'd be grateful.
>>97052340>cut it>repose itI'd rather just print one I don't have to fix and have it cost a lot less to boot.

Does anyone have a scan of Tribes of the Wastelands? Those dune lads look interesting.
>>97051255I'm kind confused at what GW's been playing at with these totally random plastic releases. I would have tried to connect them together a bit to encourage more collecting and the existing playerbase to take up new army projects. For instance, they did an Elrond model and banner bearer in a kit, but you still had the total dogshit basic infantry(manlets compared to modern LOTR figures, no plastic spear supports). Or the Osgiliath boxed set. Why not do a plastic Boromir or Elessar so people could expand their starter Gondorians into a full-sized army?

>>97057025Isn't there a Gollum movie coming out?It might be related to that
>>97046647Couldn’t disagree more on Khorne. To me they are just a tick less tactical than Vamps. Every turn is basically a puzzle as to how you can chain push someone off the pitch. If you like the chain push puzzles Khorne is your team. If you are just trying to hit things then other teams are better.
>>97058144>every turn is basically a puzzle>If you are just trying to hit things then other teams are betterWhoever approved this playstyle for a KHORNE team should be fired.
>>97058243NTA but you just cant channel your inner Khorne player properly. Like any chaos team they suck skillwise early, and like chaos the game opens up after you get block and surehands on a khornegor (Im mad at losing 2). The enjoyment is you beat the shit out of the team way more than any other team whilst also running the ball up at an average pace. After mightblow/claws (could even get it first if you want to play risky) it gets better. The fun of the game is they move up and you just pummel them into the ground. Sure sometimes it fails but its way way funnier when it does. They have the kill playstyle of the chosen team ampted up and its beautiful. For example:>play in a league where you get no inducments and we are roughly the same skill level>friend picks orcs, fags pick fucking dwarves, chaos dwarves, and norse. Basically all spamming block>I win the leagueI even made a ring of death with my team round the norse team that only broke apart when I frenzied to the otherside. 7 cas, 3 KOs (not including the ones that came back). You need to not be a pussy to play Khorne. You need to be willing to risk getting hit or fucking up vs block early just so you can hit them. Anything else is playing like what a Slaanesh or Tzeentch team would play like.
>>97028005Before following anything other anons mentioned, it’s good to find out if you even have any players in the area. Necromunda is cool, but one of the few games that is absolutely dead in my area for example.
I feel like I am gonna regret even asking, but what’s the consensus when it comes to Mordheim bases. Square or round? What sizes for each unit? Are those even set in stone?
>>97058144Ah, I see the issue. I play in a league where they don't allow that to happen.
>>97059317As in they are good enough to prevent it? FUMBBL has the best players in the world and it works there, not sure the sharks you are playing against.
>>97058947I have never used more than two Khorngors and don't see why people want those so much. Once you know how to avoid Frenzy traps and level up some players you're looking at the deadliest team in the game bar none, with the deadliest big guy, too.
>>97059737The khornegors are great and GW fucked us by removing ther other 2. You have 2 as balla carriers and 2 for ball hawks. Now you have to waste a level getting horns and lose juggernaut by running the same thing on linemen. Admittingly you get frenzy to hit them again.
I asked about the Three Trolls a couple of weeks back for my son, finally got a hold of them and started painting them. I sort of lucked into getting the colors right and I'm really happy with how movie accurate they are turning out so far. My goal with the range itself is to make it look "realistic" as opposed to my usual colorful/contrast style with my Heroquest/Warcry stuff. Just gotta matte varnish this guy so he's not so shiny and then finish basing him and move on to the other trolls.
>>97059028The general consensus is use what you want, there are gameplay differences but they're pretty minimal. 20mm square or 25mm round for most units and 40mm square/round for big units is pretty typical.
Is necromunda a fun game?
Looking to try out Battlefleet Gothic with a friend, neither of us have played before. Are the remastered or original rules generally considered better?
>>97061698Depends entirely on who youre playing it with and what youre playing it on 2bh. On purpose-built terrain with an opponent who embraces the silliness and narrative aspect its great, my favourite game by farBut with a WAACfag who just shifted over from 40k and placed his L-shaped mdf down thinking it will suffice it would be a horrible experience.
is warcry dead? Played it excessive in 2023 until mid 2024. Then I wandered off to scifi games and ignored Warcry completely. Seeing the OP picture I thought about dusting of my miniatures and giving it another try. After a quick search there seems to be no new warbands or miniatures in the last 1,5 years shortly after I've quitted, only 1-2 rules updates. Also there are no active players in my area either. Is the game dead? Any rumors?
>>97063003>is warcry dead? its not a focus rn. The attention is on warhammer quest rn, then underworld, and eventually warcry. Spearhead has kinda took its role for the most part, but it shouldnt be hard to revitalize the scene if you know people that are playing that instead. Just introduce them to warcrier and help them along the way.
>>97060063Beautifully done. I generally hate those trolls, but you made it look great, better than the studio paintjob. What's your recipe for the leather? Looks particularly striking. You'll create fond memories playing with your kid. I remember when I showed my brother the game, 22 or 23 years ago. He was probably 5, and had a ton of fun using the three hunters (+ Boromir) to kill an unending number of Uruks that were constantly respawning.
>>97063003Leas dead and more in maintenance mode. They're still dropping new rules for new AoS units and factions (the new Chorfs just got rules) and they dropped a pretty substantial balance update a few weeks ago, but it doesn't look like they're putting out new Warcry-specific products at the moment.
>>97063128Funnily enough, the practice games we are doing, to keep it simple and to learn heroic actions (he's 6), is between the Three Trolls and the Three Hunters. Taking Aragorn with Anduril, and base Legolas and Gimli equals out to 400 points, and the Three Trolls without additions are also 400 points. So that's what we've been playing for him to learn. The leather recipe is a mixture of Model Color Flat Brown and Black for the base coat, a Mid Brown AP wash, then dabbing layers of Flat Brown mixed with a bit less Black than the basecoat, followed by dabbing layers of Chaotic Red (AP) for the reddish highlights. By dabbing I mean just patting the brush in sporadic patterns.
arbitrating my first campaign with other newbies in a couple of months to see if we like the game.is it still a good experience if we cut out the vehicles and mounts from a dominion campaign as well as just the one ash wastes mission with rolling roads?also are tactics cards essential to the game?any other tips on how to run a campaign are appreciated too.
>>97064311>is it still a good experience if we cut out the vehicles and mountsYes, vehicles are fun but very much just an addon they arent critical at all>also are tactics cards essential to the game?Nah you can do without, my group generally does, some of them feel fairly anti-fun or broken at times so get house ruled even when we do use them.
>>97056833>The next game on the docket is Battlefleet Gothic
>>97064426is there a way you guys handle credit discrepancies between gangs if you don't use tactics?
>>97060583Splendid, thank you for the answer!
>>97064744Come to think of it we've never had to, its always been fairly even gang rating-wise, the arbitrator just sprinkled a few more credits on the weaker gangs (guys who had to miss games for whatever reason) during downtime
New BB league starting next year with the new edition. I've never played, but I'm considering jumping in with a box. Not sure what to start with. My lgs had a few boxes, but I didn't pull the trigger because I figured there was more. >Amazons Cool and unique to the specialist stuff. Not just your standard fantasy fare. >Dark Elfs I have darks in fantasy and DoK were my main army in AoS since they launched until I dropped the game entirely. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of visually are the sea dragon ponchos, but I'm willing chalk it up to a paint job. >Wood Elfs My main fantasy army for many years. I've kind of drifted away from them over time, but I still have and like them. My biggest issue with them in BB is that they have two boxes, and frankly I'm not interested enough to buy two boxes of GW shit just yet. >wolfenburg crypt stealers Wanted to call this one out. It's a mixed bag for me, but it's more hit than miss. I love a good spooky ghost and the scarecrow looking zombie is top tier. I just worry about other options in other undead boxes, and I'm not a huge generic zombie/undead fan There are a few others that are neat/funny like the snotlings or skaven assassins, but I don't know that I'd pick them up for my first go around. The rest don't really interest me.
>>97063003There are still updates to rules but no new terrain/Warbands.As for dead as a played game, depends, we have a lovely Warcry group that plays weekly and has monthly events too
>>97064744Yeah, either something like have an enforcer gang to slap down stronger guys, or throw a wrench in.We used the core book options, so you could use house favours, hire extra brutes for free etc
first of many frenzon-friends
Anyone seen any good third party models/stls for the Nurgle star players? The only ones I've seen are by Ugni but they're pretty shit. Would prefer not to have to pay forge world prices for the decent gw sculpts when I have my own printer.
>>97067686Go with Dark elves but get the Brutefun models, his sculpts are leagues better than the GW ones. I don't recommend Amazon for beginners because they all have dodge and you will learn bad habits playing like that. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1752259031/brutefun-dark-elf-fantasy-football-team
First three models of my Savage orcs (black orcs) team done. Excited to get these guys on the field, just wish my local community was a bit better.
>>97068278Why the dark elves over the others? I'm not opposed, just looking for info
>>97064744Alliance is the mechanic meant to help new players or the one that fell way behind.
>>97067686>need 2 boxesAnon, you basically need two boxes for a full team for ALL of those teams not just Wood Elves. You dont need a full 16 (Imo you sort of do but I play endless leagues). You need the team box twice for lineman. If anything Dark Elves are more expensive as you have to get more lineman and assassins (you arguably dont need the extra 2 lineman and just play with 14 players). Wood Elves only need a 3rd box if you want to use a treeman which they dont even really need so you could add it later.
>>97064744We do the following:>Calculate the difference in teams + reinforcements (instead of gang ratings)>For every 150 cr. difference you can have 1 reroll. >For every 350 cr. difference you can have 1 non-brute guy of choice to make 3 actions instead of 2.It helps making the game more fair.
>>97069258Sounds lame and gay. Moving on then
>>97069440You can play the game with one box just you dont have extras for when you expand your team.
>>97069440Again, buy the 3rd party models. They generally come with a full 16 for cheaper than the price of a GW box and they look better (if you get a good one)
Shame there's no official rules for taking the heavy las-carbine on Van Saar models other than the Arachni-rig. "Heavy Stubber but las" wouldn't be the most effective weapon, but cooler and more flavorful than the man-catcher/flamer I'd convert it from.
>>97069440New rules are lame and gay, don’t play unless you can find a LRB/CRP group.
>>97069440As other anons say, get the LRB6 (free, it's always and only been free) and get a third party team which range from cheaper than a single GW box to more than 2 GW boxes (if you're buying physical) if you can print you have literally hundreds of full team sculpts to choose from and none will cost more than $10 in resin.
Anyone got the pdfs for either the Tomb Kings or Bretonnian spike journals? I've already given James Workshop enough money for this year!
>>97068286Those look great fa/tg/uy, good work.
Is warcry worth getting into right now?I saw nightmare quest box on second hand and I've been thinking about chipping in
>>97060063Now to base them
>>97072024if you're group has people playing it absolutely. or if you even have a friend that would be willing to learn it to play with you.
I want to kitbash my Forge Tyrant out od the Stimmer kit, does it matter if he's on a 40mm base for Necromunda?
>>97072849Not really since the models in munda dont have a "set" base size like modern 40k. However he is quite a big lad so the bigger base seems apropriate. Point is- use one that looks good with the model.
>>97073139Good to know, thanks!
>>97045552I think this is a good reminder for me to get more rat bomb tokens.
Any tsctics for Dark Elves vs Skaven? I'm struggling to deal with the rat ogre deleting one player each turn - albeit I'm out of practice as well. The GR's and other stuff I can just about handle, but the Rogre is consistently hunting down and flattening my positionals.
If Warcry got another big box with terrain I'd like to see Skaven vs Kharadrons in the ruins of the KO city that fell out of the sky
>>97075437Same
>>97075437That would be heaps better than more Gnarlwood.Would also love a ruined boat city like Misthæven
>>97075429He still can't dodge, you'll need to set up intervening lineman. Which is still not great given Elf team costs. Ultimately, you could try stabbing him. He is only Armour 9+ after all. But yeah, the Rat Ogre is probably the best big guy in the game right now, well, the Underworld one for definite, since there he has basic access to mutations and easily replacebly snotlings to smack if he fails wild animal. But still.I think your best bet is the same as it is with all Elf teams faced with a bashy team: Score quickly and reset the board.
>>97075429Are you playing with the new changes? Dark elves are pretty fucked. Honestly, just use the old team compositions for orcs, humans, and delves. Rat ogres themsevles have a low armor value. You might have to make some defensive zones with linemen. You can try to be aggressive and take them out that way, or you have to kind of just try to avoid it as much as possible. A character with block and a reroll has a decent chance of knocking a rat ogre down even with the strength disadvantage. Stabbing a rat ogre is one of the few times it comes in handy.
Would someone be kind and repost the link to Bastions of Law?
>>97076376gf/d/9K4kKH
Someone got a scan of Spitewood's rulebook they can toss my way?
My corpse grinders are coming along great, including the Butcher who has ascended to psyker levels thanks to his malstrain mutation.
>>97071818So.... $0.00?
I saw some Warcry terrain where the meat trees had flock and stuff added and dear lord it actually flips it from a 3/10 to 10/10
>>97076605Shit paint, lore violation(s), WAACfag.
>>97077290go back to your /40kg/
>>97077290>loreFuck off, newfag.
Anyone got the Red Harvest booklet?
>>97077322>97077353The oxymoronic nature of these posts baffles me.
>>97072372I got a buddy who's been looking for a small scale game with depth. We both play AoS so we have plenty of minis for custom warbandsHe doesn't like spearhead because it's limited and too simple so he'll probably be down for warcry
Redpill me on Warcryis it fun? What's the list building like? Can I pull some random fantasy miniatures from my collection and have a go? Or is it more pre-structured, like current kill team (which I also like)?
>>9707763List building is kind of funSeems like pre built warbands rely more on rules to be strong, while custom warbands have meh rules but better statsGame is fast enough to fit a few games inI've played only a few games, so take my opinion with a grain of salt
>>97077111Post pics of it
>>97076605>>97077322Khornate cult with a psyker, OP gang with additional shit, genestealers going against their own ideas. Jesus fucking christ, are you stupid WAACFAG or both?

>>97078144Looks to me like he's having fun with /hisdudes/ instead of being a slave to the fluff. The fluff which, by the way, already has precedent for khorne worshipping psykers and chaos genestealer cults.
>>97078445and khorne worshipping genestealer cults.
>>97067686Amazons are the best team in the game if you're playing to win. But really, play the team that looks cool to you. Though if you're new, I would recommend Amazons or Necromantic out of those. Starting with elves teaches you bad habits.
>>97045761Because the people in charge didn't really WANT to be totally emancipated because they liked talking to Jervis and feeling like they had an 'in' with the people in charge.
Planning out a list to try out battlefleet gothic. Anything I'm missing or should change before I start printing?>230 explorer class battleship (vash'ya)>2x120 emissary (deflector, 1 dal'yth, 1 sa'cea)>50 messenger class>2x25 orcas>2x45 nicissar dhow>80 fleet commander kor'o
>>97077634It's my favorite modern GW game, personally. I find the streamlined ruleset to be fast and frenetic and the emphasis on most models basically being a block of stats really rewards good wargaming fundamentals without a lot of bloat. Some people may find it too simplistic. It's list building is the polar opposite of Kill Team; you can take basically any unit in any combination and number within the points limit and you can even take a limited number of models from outside your faction as allies.
recast order came in, the zm stuff actually goes together really well
Is there a better list builder for Necromunda than Yaktribe? I get annoyed they make things such a tedious process of buying and selling when you're experimenting with starting loadouts. I want to be able to build a default set of dudes that match the minis I've built and import into a list rather than have to rebuild every guy whenever I make a new experimental list.
>>97080051Try MundaManager.
>>97080051gyrinx or mundamanager
>>97078906>they liked talking to JervisAnd? GW can't forbid him from talking with those people.
>>97079159Anon I'm sorry but you've totally fucked up from the first step by choosing Tau
>>97078445It’s also a complete WAAC playstyle, it removes the only weakness of a notoriously OP gang by letting them bring 45 Cred Lasgun Gangers.
>>97083656Just have the arbitrator limit it or use some restraint if its too OP, as with everything else necromunda.
I've spent over 15 years upset that you can't buy blunderbusses for heroes in Mordheim. Sure, I'll put it on the Marksman who WILL get sniped out and have a one in three chance of losing this expensive rare weapon forever. >Just don't take blunderbusses Mordheim gives so much advantage to grouping your melee fighters close together, that I must. It's not only a tactical decision, but a moral necessity for the well-being of the game itself. Area of effect attacks are prime anti-clumping design, but outside the blunderbuss, they are exclusively provided by spells. >Well your heroes can LEARN...We both know the campaign won't last long enough for that. While I'm at it, whoever thought Reikland, Middenheim, and Marienburg were anywhere near parity had brain damage. 20% more materiel or will I have heroes hit a bit harder? It's not supposed to be a waacfag game, I know, but the power gap is egregious.
>>97084520>can't keep a campaign going long enough for his heroes to pick up one (1) skill>thinks Marienburgers are OPHave you considered playing with people who don't have brain damage that prevents them from keeping a consistent schedule?
>>97078264Thanks anon. I love it!
>>97027864Does anyone have a scan of the Warcry second edition core rules/compendium that they could please share?I know everything is available online and the books are out of date but I'd like to read them regardlessHere are the scans I have so farhttps://mega.nz/folder/hGsU3LAQ#IJMEGYaqP3_PhsFpipZIYw
>>97085839Sadly I have the same ones only. Would love to read more it anyone else has more
Redpill me on Escher. I have Orlocks (half built, i want subassemblies) and Nomads (on sprue) but lately I've been feeling like I want to start over and get rid of everything Ash Wastes and focus on the hive city degeneracy with escher being my main gang. Also, cant upload images for some reason?
>>97087857>30+ years after the games release I think I finally want to try playing it the way it was intended instead of as a reskin of kill team
>>97088081Dont hate on me buddy. I only got in this hobby 2 years ago. I thought Ash Wastes would be cheaper because of open areas and natural formations as opposed to zone mortalis/underhive. Lost interest in orlocks and nomads though, theyre pretty boring and dont really embody the aesthetic of necromunda.
new Necromunda and LI next week>https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/ufdc58kz/sunday-preview-the-divine-prince-returns-to-necromunda/
>>97088617I'm actually paypigging the hangers, and quite tempted to also get the golden fag.
>>97087857Escher is the rogue of Necromunda. They have cheap lasgun, all the general good weapon options for both melee and range, and their main specialty is drug, poison and a skill set that give them some tricks many situation (movement, combat, shooting). The downside is that the drugs and poisons cost are pretty expensive because they only last 1 game. They don't have any really strong unique weapons, and they have a unique skill that only work with a set of limited (but good) generic melee weapons.Well it's still good to be given good generic weapons instead of a bunch of unique but garbage one, like the Nomad Shadar hunter.
>>97089910I'm still planning the list and all but I may take the plunge. I'll get a plasma gun and some stub guns from the bits store together with a Death Maiden head (will use it on a regular escher body) and pretty much be done with the gang for very cheap with only one box.
>>97076926I wish.
whoever sculpted griff's face and his eagle's attachment point needs to be thrown into a pit, good model otherwise
>>97087857Bit of a glass canon gang. Also Chem alchemy is great fun
>>97089994Also if you're going down the Chem alchemy route, get an Apprentice Clan Chymist. She helps make Chen's not so expensive, also having Fixer means she pays for herself
>>97087857Escher are cool. That's all the pill you need for munda.
what's your favorite mid range necromunda gun?I want to give my venator leader something funbolter was on the table but I can't figure out how to model it while also holding a chainsword
>>97091990Rak'gol Razor Gun Use something silly not a boring bolter
>>97092032>I11can't start with the truly goof shit or else I'd have a neural flayer
>>97091990>I can't figure out how to model it while also holding a chainswordBatte Sister squad had a bunch of 1 handed Small size Bolter, old manlet space marine and CSM also had lots of 1 handed bolter as well as plain bolter for sling/back carry. And Battle Sister also had a belt holstered Bolter. Primaris and new scout also had some plain sling bolter as well as 1 handed one, but they're quite bigger than the sister one.Now you can also cut out 1 handed bolter hand to replace it with your dude's pistol hand (that you cut the pistol out)
>>97092074the bolters for sisters (both types) are still comically oversized, especially if you're holding them one handedI might have one of the old ass 2e bolters though, I'll bluetac it on to see how it looks if I find it
>>97092095>the bolters for sisters (both types) are still comically oversizedIt's already substaintially smaller than the 4E CSM Bolter, even the Shuriken pistol is bigger.
>>97083718NTA but who are you talking to, faggot? Eat some vegetables instead of a pure diet of McDonalds and semen, your memory is suffering. You're replying to a critical comment about someone who posted a gang with a clear WAAC slant. "Talk to the arbitrator"... who should talk to the arbitrator, you retarded little shit? The guy who posted the WAAC gang should talk to his arbitrator about his own chosen niche build being WAAC? Shut up you pathetic Dunning-Kruger contrarian.
is it just me or does Twistweald seem a bit bad? Most of their abilities are about slapping themselves and only their quad can actually heal. Maybe I'm just not seeing the potential
Damn, everything split from Dark Water sold out except for the 2 strong female heroes, weird furry and the centaur, as expected. Just had to wait until the next split to grab the dwarf and the templar.
>>97092195>TwistwealdThe models are boring and 3/7 of the team didn't even have any runemark. It's a complete waste of time and money for GW to make this kit, creativity is bankrupt.
>>97092195It's not just you. Unfortunately pretty much all the bespoke warbandss after the release of the Vulkyn Flameseekers and the Monsta-Killaz are severely undercooked.
>>97092241on one hand, damn that suckson the other, not a lot of 2e warbands spark anything within me
>>97092195Yeah they suck. I used them and they're pretty useless.Haven't used them since the update
>>97092258IMO they should get some of the Underworlds Warbands and expand them into Warcry gangs
>>97092095Bolters are just generally XBox huge. That is part of their signature aesthetic.
>>97092350There's apparently size differences between a Boltgun for normal humans, and a Spess Mahreen Bolter.
>>97092581Sister got the smallest one.
>>97092581Depends on the mini.Escher bolter is the same size as the Mk6 HH marines. But much smaller than the new Sternguard one
>>97092637> But much smaller than the new Sternguard oneThey would be, those guys are primaris now.
Bought a box of dark elfs for a blood new league in the new year. My friend gifted me this bitch apparently. I have never played blood bowl. What did I get myself into?
>>97091990the Cadian Castellan model has a one handed bolter for the left hand, looks p good
>>97092735It's a fun and simple game but very challenging in terms of tactics and being good. A ton of risk management. DE are among the better teams and Roxanna is a solid, if expensive star.
>>97092177>who should talk to the arbitratorLiterally any of the players who feel it is overtuned during test games, including the anon running the list, which also depends on how good or bad a player anon is. It could literally be as simple as>ok you the butcher can be a psyker, but you cant use slaughterborn, visions of slaughter or paired chain-cleavers anymore, and the willpower check on the mask is only for shootingOr if anon is a super new player, his overtuned gang can be left untouched and serve as a handicap to even the scales with other players who have a good idea of what they're doing. This shit isnt complicated nigga
It's a Newcromunda Hives of Blood game, and you have an opportunity to mix any two houses of the present in order to represent a house of the past.Which two houses do you mix? What is the name of the house of old, and what is within its purview?
Can anyone recommend me a source for quality Battlefleet Gothic STLs? Most interested in Tyranids but I’ll take anything
>>97092846So you are directly addressing players who are not and never will be present in the thread, and telling them to talk to their arbitrator?
>>97092164>>9709209540k weapons in general are oversize, but that is because they where made oversize due to the heroic scale.Numodels forgot about that and kept the xbox huge size.
>>97092883Yeah, because it should be common knowledge that this is how a necromunda campaign should be run.You decide as a group what you find fun, and if theres anything you want to houserule away because you find it annoying, overpowered, unsuitable for the terrain you have available or whatever then you try to agree upon and do it.

But she's still pretty good.Although it's rare an elf team can purchase star players, and if they do then their season has gone very, very violently wrong.
>>97091990I'm a sucker for the combat shotgun myself.
>>97092933Again, the conversation you were responding to was a criticism directed against a seemingly infringing WAAC player themselves. So who were you helping by saying "arbitrator gud" in the context of that conversation?
How's this goonhammer list for a starter gang? I kinda like that it has a lot of utility in theory. I'm not very keen on the flechette pistol but otherwise, what would you change or introduce?
>>97092581The difference between regular and Astartes pattern is the grip and trigger area since Astartes ones are designed for bigger/thicker hands since they are big guys and the armour makes them even bigger. The weapon itself isn't any different besides quality of manufacture and maybe tactical attachment areas. This was sort of covered in the RPGs in that if Astartes wanted to use non-Astartes pattern weapons it usually needed breaking off any trigger guard just so they could get a finger in there to pull the trigger.
>>97096166It's certainly look like a list made to avoid being called a WAAC by the necronazi. And the Shadow with 2 autopistol will probably not hitting anything.
>>97045653>rulebookhttps://bloodbowlbase.ru/bb2025/ has the majority of the rules uploaded already. The .pdf sadly hasn't turned up yet but once bbb is updated I'm not sure how often I'd need the book.
>>97096253Is there a synergy between flechette pistol and the web gauntlet? I feel like I'm missing something but all the leaders in their lists (like 4-5 lists) have flechettes and web gauntlets.
>>97096467You shoot the toxin profile after suicide infiltrated your leader and then it give a bonus rapid fire attack in combat with the gauntlet. If you were playing some high meme game where people group up a bunch of dude together you can even score multi kill with rapid fire.
>>97094139It really is a baffling choice for how to portray the Heavy Melta. Especially given that it is a 1-handed weapon (presumably due to being mounted on an Exo) but still has Unwieldy. It also isn't available to anyone else in their roster so it being an overarm weapon like that doesn't make any sense thematically either. It should have been setup like the Storm-Welder, i.e. underslung Exo arm attachment. Making the bit the same arm as the Combat Shotgun was also a douche move since again it is an Exo-Master only weapon, and putting both the Combat Shotgun and Heavy Melta on the same model makes a lot of sense, and the Exo's don't have inherent access to Suspensors like the rest of the Squat general roster.
>>97096166>GoonhammerHave you tried thinking for yourself?

>>97096612So, no?

>>97096741No need for further proof, my man.
>>97094139Can you just kitbash it to make it work? Also I love iron head prospectors models. Are they decent in necromunda? Been thinking about jumping in
>>97097405They have better weapons with more firepower and a lot of attack in close combat. But their gears are expensive and they prefer to be on ground level.
>>97097405>Are they decent in necromunda? They are expensive but pretty much every ranged weapon in their roster has RF1, or +1RF if it is a weapon that already had RF. Also very good general access to armour and wargear. Being base T4 is also good, but you are also 4" move on everything except your Juves which are 5". Venators also have a racial profile for Squats now too so you can use them there if going pure Ironhead isn't working for you.
>>97097458What rulebook is a good place to start? The most recent publication? This game looks great for campaigns. I know hardly anything about Munda. Help me out boys.

>>97097485If you are looking for the Squat roster that is in Halls of the Ancients. If you are looking for the general Necromunda rules you want Core Rulebook 2023. And if you intend to play an Ash Wastes campaign then you also want Book of the Outlands to see the general access vehicle profiles and other vehicle stuff.
>>97097505>>97097506Thanks for the pointers fellas! Can’t wait to see what kitbashes I can kick up
>>97097405I'd rather just not buy them and get something else, I don't want to reward GW's retardation
