Avatar: The Last Airbender is out, you have almost 61 days to complete the mastery set
Several cards were recently banned in Standard, Pioneer, Brawl and Historic
https://magic.wizards.com/en/banned-restricted-list
From November 18, 2025–January 19, 2026 Golden Packs will temporary contain cards differently than before due to "various pieces of internal nonsense"

Arena is pretty much the only thread for people that actually play magic
/edhg/ isn't magic the gathering, although the cards may have some slight resemblance and the mana system and turn phases are clearly inspired by MTG

/mtg/ is all just people who wish they could be playing paper standard, people who fucking hate magic now, and wotc shills. None of these people actually sit down to play magic once or twice a week.
>>
>>97028988
it's only for when WotC has to deal with companies like Disney who won't give them the rights to make digital versions of the cards, just physical

As far as we know there's no such issue with other UBs coming.
Many others were cummador only and didn't have a reason to immediately go to area (Fallout, AssCreed, Doctor Fag)

my green was too good to pass up and the Ozai and Azula were easily the MVPs. I only actually drew Iroh in game 2.
1 of the losses should've been a win. I wasn't paying attention and only had 5 mana in my pool when the opponent killed me with their flyer. Game just skipped over blocks and I couldn't tap a land to give Ozai flying. Kinda frustrating but skill issue I guess.

I just played against a sauron deck in brawl, he had one card in hand and 2 blue mana open. Could have been a counterspell so I try to bait him out with some problem cards, an enchantment and artifact, no priority pause at all. I cast the real problem card and after 2 timeout expires, he casts the card in his hand, a negate.
Seems fucking suspicious to me. it happens more and more often where people just seem to take forever to realize they have a counterspell in hand after several minutes of idling.
>>
>>97039766
it's botted games on a seeded ladder with pre planned sequential counterspells, kill spell, and wincons
I am not joking, when the proof that WOTC and Arena have been swindling users with fake games there might be a class action lawsuit
Many players have not read the Terms and Conditions within MTG Arena that state very clearly that if a real opponent "can't be found" a simulated game will be played. This happens in draft and "ladder" because they take you off the main ladder without your knowledge or consent. It's scum and they aren't the only game to do this

>>
magic the riggening
>>
I hate riggers...
>>
>>97041300
simplify it and imagine they're rigging coinflips. it's clearly not impossible to control wins and losses in a way where "upon analysis" it looks normal, i.e.: heads and tails show up 50% of the time, but in fact you're actually in control of when the heads and tails are happening
this is what computer card games (not just mtga) are literally doing. and the fact that it's more complex than coinflips actually makes it even more impossible to "uncover the rigging", not easier. people will say things like "it's way too complex, there are too many decision trees to rig, it's impossible!!"
i would go on and on about this, but i've been through this too many times with people that i know the common response is to plug ears and roll eyes and pretend any rigged talk is schizophrenic
it's honestly very simple. play a linear easy-to-rig-against deck like mono red and be good at the game and you'll see how fucked up and blatantly rigged the game is. it fails the eyeball test. asking for statistical analysis of "why the sky is technically blue" is fucking retarded
>>
YOU DUMB RIGGERS
>>
>>97041407
>asking for statistical analysis of "why the sky is technically blue" is fucking retarded
Weird example, given that explaining why the sky is blue is often used as an example of light wavelengths in everyday life, in like a middle school science class. It's not that complicated or hard to explain.
>>
>>97041407
>heads and tails show up 50% of the time, but in fact you're actually in control of when the heads and tails are happening
What does this even mean?
If they are “in control” and they are only exercising that control to produce statistically random results… that’s random, not rigged.
What exactly are you accusing them of doing?
>>
>>97041432
no one's talking about wavelengths. the point is you go outside and look up and see the sky is blue. no one needs to prove that to you. if you're questioning what color the sky is you are a faggot
>>
>>97041233
was at one point a mathematician type that played some ungodly number of games and did a statistical analysis on hoe often he got mana screwed versus flooded in comparison to his rank status and found a correlation between going 2nd and being mana screwed with closing in on the next rank ladder.

it got quickly hushed up and the postings with relevant tables disappeared.
>>
>>97041452
>it's a mouthbreather who can't into math or science
Ok my bad, I thought I was talking to a human, not an ape.
>>
>>97041449
win streaks and loss streaks are correlated with things like quitting the game, spending money on MTX, playing more games, uninstalling the game, and so on. they have data on this, and the idea of a whale getting unlucky and uninstalling before they spend $200 on MTX is a nightmare to the business, so instead of letting pure RNG control the destiny of accounts, they do things like measure your churn risk and other indicators, and depending on your streaks, what rank you are, if you're about to rank up or rank down, and so on and so forth, they intervene with rigged results to push you towards desired metrics
a much rougher but easier to digest example would be to imagine a rigged casino blackjack table. RNG could be completely normal until someone bets a huge amount, and then the pit boss says "nah, force a loss", then they cover it back up with rigged wins until the player is at the precise "expected win/loss" number. this is akin to rigging a player a loss streak when they're about to rank up from something like diamond to mythic, because they know there's a good chance once the player reaches mythic they'll be satisfied and quit. so they force losses to make the player keep grinding and keep investing
>>
>>97041463
plebbit dot com slash r slash i am very smart
>>
>>97041478
What you are describing would still be visible in a statistical analysis. In fact, you could even purposefully throw games and play poorly to trigger their rigging logic.
I don’t believe that a game that attracts autists would be able to hide a mechanism like this.
But if you think I’m wrong please present evidence otherwise but until then you are just a seething retard who doesn’t understand randomness.
You probably don’t know this because you are, again, a seething retard, but human beings are actually really bad at recognizing randomness. If you ask a person to produce in their head a series of random numbers they actually produce predictable numbers that are statistically not random.
>>
lol you are losing because you are shit, not because the game is rigged

https://www.reddit.com/r/MagicArena/comments/b21u3n/i_analyzed_shuffling_in_a_million_games/

suddenly after the original post the shuffler was changed. when a company sets up a rigged system they typically just pivot to a less obvious mechanism when caught. Like matchmaking with a bot to force game losses in an even more abstract way.

How do the jump in events work if you resign and choose the same packets? Do you get another copy of the cards? I'd quite like another batch of them if that's possible but I don't want to waste gold finding out.
>>
>>97042849
Yes, you get multiple copies. But you probably won't be offered the exact same packets, and even the same packets will often have slight variation.
>>
>>97042861
I happened to be offered mobilise stuff and goblin stuff, and those are specifically what I'm trying to build up a better collection of. How slim would my odds be of getting them again? I'd quite like to white/red mobilise and goblin stuff (a full set of krenkos would be very nice, in particular).

well a jump in costs as much as 1 pack. so you need ~5 or 6 jumpins to equal the cost of one rare wildcard. not to mention duplicate cards are added to your vault, and duplicate rares/mythics pay out as gemmies i think
if you like those odds i say try to gamble

I hadn't played arena in a long time, but cube brought me back. Should I use all of my cube winnings (rare wild-card wise) on standard? I already have phoenix fully crafted for pioneer, so that format is already covered.
I think I'm pretty unlikely to ever play timeless, that format seems like all of the downsides of legacy (which I play in paper) without any of the upsides.

So remember when there was a leak of developer ui that involved buttons that literally would let you stack player's draws and then a couple years later due to a bug a system was exposed where you could see the "strength" of your deck comprised of the arbitrary numbers arena devs assigned to each card and could change at any time and we know the system is being used to adjust matchmaking (to get more "fair" matchups according to devs).
But somehow it is a wild schizo conspiracy if you imply that using the tools that are already in the game to influence the outcome of a match by a developer that already engages in gaming the matchmaking.

It's a different situation compared to D&D, even though both fall under the WotC umbrella. D&D operates on brand recognition and the existing community, there's basically nothing they do better than even indie RPGs. On top of that, their money comes from people buying books and the majority of that comes from entrenched players, usually GMs who are more than willing to try out other games. So they need to cater to that demographic because they're fucked if there's nobody left to actually run sessions. On the flip side, MtG's biggest audience are casual commander players, scalpers, and collectors. The casuals will never proxy because that involves effort and time, which is worth more to them than money. The collectors will never proxy because the whole reason they're buying product is to have real product. The scalpers will never proxy because that devalues all the product they're trying to move. Look at the recent Commander Rules Committee fiasco. People tried to make a change that they thought was best for the health of the actual format. The community threatened to kill them because scalpers didn't want to lose money, collectors didn't want their shiny decks to get ruined, and casuals hate change. The MtG community hasn't broken free, because they want what WotC is giving them.

I dont see how any deck that can reasonably cast oroboroid could be considered jank

I just came back after a decade. I know people didn't like Spiderman but was Aetherdrift also hated?

Nice try retard they’re my own brews cause I can’t afford wildcards for meta netdecks, which usually means my mirror is the same archetype but fully loaded with whatever optimal pigbait cards slot into it. The problem is that the matchmaker sees what rares you do have and can’t figure out an equivalent so it just throws you in with whatever decks have the same rares and calls it a match

Crazy synergy but too many cuts. I think its gator, battle fan, one trap and maybe 1 watery grasp plus boomerang, maybe callous inspector.
>>
>>97067072
Yeah, you need to enable it in options though
>>
>>97067155
hama, gator, basics, a grasp, always lies, attachments, a swampsnare

>3 lost days 3 otter 3 watery grasp
I didn't know quick draft was out already
>>

I could had gotten 2 more otters and other watery grasp.

>running a shitty card just because you can have some cute synergy with it
Yes, it's a cut. The list isn't short on playables, you're already going to be getting that draw 2 when you need it anyway. Alternatives would be the second swampsnare or battle fan, but imo attachments is the weakest for the deck.

failed designs that didin't fit in magic and even reddit disliked it so..

genuinely whats going on. roping was always an been a issue but with this avatar set its like every retard who needs keys jangled at them to keep playing has flooded every format in this game.
>>
>>97069347
I went up with a guy recently who roped fully every single opportunity. As in his turn would start, he'd play his cards, and then he'd just sit there until the rope ran out. Every single turn without exception. It was like his end turn button was broken.

Come to think of it I think that was hearthstone actually, but I've had similar shit in arena
