>TQGod eaters son, soul wars are the only ones I’ve read that I liked. Currently reading blood of the everchosen and will likely read abraxias book after. Also do yourself a favor and don’t read anything written by nick kyme.
>>97038589>tqI recommend the core book for lore and the spearhead manual for the best gw game they make
>TQThe Gotrek and Felix novels. They are amazing if they count for Gotrek. Most new BL is mediocre to bad. Not much worth reading if you value your time.
>>97038585Yeah like I said, can only imagine something straight out of Kislev.
>>97038589>TQGodeater's Son, Scourge of Fate, Soul Wars, Court of the Blind King, Gloomspite, AoS Gotrek series up to Soulslayer. Ushoran's parts in the Ushoran book are really good but that's literally 15% of the book. Spear of Shadows was what got me into AoS, so while probably outdated, it's still fun. I'm currently reading Starseer's Ruin and I like it. Seraphon feel alien enough and the imagery is great.
>>97038589>TQI'll just throw up my Gotrek ebook dump and audio dump. The AoS stuff is also in there.E-Books.https://mega(d0t)nz/folder/h15iUTJA#VyC9rzeNTd0xNejNO2bK8QAudios https://mega(d0t)nz/folder/VpBGBDyS#_Pj0qh9l4cvVrUD6CGirqwJust replace the d0ts.Wonder when they'll finally get around to doing an audio for The Serpent Queen.
>>97038613They're probably gonna be more elite versions of fusiliers with actual melee. That plus foot knights might mean Cities will have non-chaff that also aren't on the squatting block
We need more Stormcast Eternals.
>>97038800I wouldnt mind more ruination or sacrosanct stuff personally.
>>97038812I think Vanguard will be next. We already have some bits and pieces like Neve and the Underworlds team. Then probably Vandus Reforged for 5th.
>>97038812>more sacrosanctI've got bad news
>>97038818I hope they can redesign the storm bolts or whatever. I like the general design for vanguard but the cross bows could be cooler if they had actual lightning bolts in them. >>97038820Yeah yeah I know.
>>97038820They aren't dead, just back home. They;ll get a redesign and a re release at some point.
>>97038679You wouldn't happen to have them in South American Spanish, would you?
>>97038857Unfortunately I don't.
>>97038857Surely you're fluent in North American Spanish?
>>97038820No way they're not just redesigning these fuckers to launch in 5th
>>97038930stormcasts are not going to be in the 5th ed starter
Commanders of Nagashes finest, I am testing paint schemes for my bonereapers and I want to see your work!
>>97038976Dont have any atm, but I'd be curious to see someone adapt this to obr. Guess the real freedom you'd have is figuring out how to paint the armor/carapaces.
>>97038976i know its hated on but id recommend bonereaper subreddit, any faction subreddit is good for helping decide on a scheme. Helped me decide my scheme for my bonereapers
Im once again appealing to the kindness of anonymous to share the slaanesh battletome, i need it to convert one of my friends into aos player.

Looking for EPUBs of 'Thunderstrike & Other Stories', 'Skaventide' and 'War for the Mortal Realms' (or 'Soul Wars' and 'Dominion'). TYIA.
Got my starter pack before I make the jump for a bigger box Skaventide or something.Bros these things are TINY, like really really tiny. The eyes are like a single brush bristle size.Assembling glue/plastic scrape took me almost a whole hour, probably the nerves.Going to give painting a try today. I really hope I'll enjoy it and can physically do it with fucked hands and not get filtered... I want this to be a part of my life so bad.Was hoping to paint some glowy skaven runes on them, so I got the green paint, but I can tell it will be a struggle. Also was I just stupid or is it normal to need to cut off parts of the plastic pins? Some of the models just wouldn't fit unless I either shaved some of the pushfits to a taper or cut parts of them off.One of them I had to cut the whole bit off and just glue my little guy together and hold for a bit because it wouldn't fit no matter what.
>>97039118>Also was I just stupid or is it normal to need to cut off parts of the plastic pins? Some of the models just wouldn't fit unless I either shaved some of the pushfits to a taper or cut parts of them off.It happens.
>>97038976Not the finest but here ya go
>>97039118Depends on which part of the pins you mean, it could have just been part of the sprue that you need to cut off.Overall good start for your first time, though i think everyone will agree buying the cup was unnecessary but if money isn't an issue then why not.Have fun with painting your first models, cherish them forever!
>>97038800I want the old paladins back.
>>97039118>glue/plasticThose are push-ins, you should not need any glue as it makes the models harder to connect. If you pick the skaven starter try to build the models without glue, it will be quicker and easy.>Going to give painting a try today.Remember to coat the models. (thin the paint in water and pass it 3 times or if you have spray you can also spray the models).Here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLi3pVvMOjE> but I can tell it will be a struggle.yeah I feel that, I also struggle doing "symbol" details, sometimes I don't even bother. (I should make transfer sheets but I m also lazy).>Also was I just stupid or is it normal to need to cut off parts of the plastic pins? Some of the models just wouldn't fit unless I either shaved some of the pushfits to a taper or cut parts of them off.>One of them I had to cut the whole bit off and just glue my little guy together and hold for a bit because it wouldn't fit no matter what. That is strange. The models usually fit together nicely unless they have some gimmick (like for exemple one of the crimson court guys that you have to hold part in a way to be able to close the pin)Did you paint spray the sprue before assembling it? If so the paint do make it harder to build (if you want to coat the mini that way it is better to at least protect the pins and their fitting holes with tape). Other than that it could have been factory dust but it is not common. Well, good luck, fren!
>>97039083>Until Nadir swallow all.sickest arabian homosexual orgy chatroom name
>>97038605They don't. AoS Gotrek is a completely different character; just a crazed berserker. He sometimes slips into an obsessed engineer but in a manic way Gotrek never did. The only relationship Slop Gotrek has to Gotrek is occasionally expressing "muh manling"

>FreeguildGrenadiers>He hefts his greatbore musket upon the haft of hispole-axe to loose its shot>You can see the intricate helm and battleplate that adorn him, and the greatcloak that shrouds his form from crown to heelI'm not going to even bother posting the potato image because you genuinely can't see anything. But this sounds like a gun on bardiche type situation? It'd be pretty funny if we get the normal gun+axe combo while kislev gets the total war literal gunaxe.
>>97039136Amonkhet coded
>>97039559I'm curious about the helmet cos helmets can be pretty fucking cool when they bother giving them visorsthis might be a wave of releases that elevates cos a lot as an army
Is there any possibility that we will have the Black Orks version in the Hellsmiths of Hasut's army?
>>97039646No, chorfs and greenskins don't even talk to eachother after what happened
>>97039646zero chances
>>97039658His enmity seems to be only with the cruel, skinny orruks of the swamp; besides, he also has the tall, clever grots as allies/workers/slaves.
>>97039679Zero is a silent number that is rounded to 100, so you're saying there's a 100% chance, right?
>>97039626Yeah the helmeted fusiliers are really cool but they don't show up in any of the boxart.
>>97039692noblame hobgrots for doing falseflags that instigated an eternal conflict where they're the sole people gaining something
>>97039646Even if there was it shouldn't be done. Shoving hobgrots in there was already a boring decision motivated by nothing more than "that's how they used to be."
>>97039702I suppose that instead of being orruks they will be mutated hobgrots full of steroids or some equivalent.
>>97039646They don't even enslave Hobgrots
>>97039716They don't have to be slaves; they could be bodyguards or foremen or something like that.
>>97039434The original author left before G&F was finished but no David Guymer, who took over from King, is just one of three or four authors who have handled the new slop
>>97039696I never saw those! Those look 1000 times better than the open helmets
Silver tower (terrain?) for tzeentchCos in 2026Fyreslayer have a new magmadroth supposedlyPer the new guy
>>97039755>Silver tower (terrain?) for tzeentchFUCK YEAH
>>97039760Honestly I dunno if I fully trust this new guy, all we've got going in his favour is that boole had a big spergout about him right? Here's his newest pic, supposedly something magmadroth but honestly these are worse than rumour engines
>>97039702ehhhh the lore strongly hints that both sides were just itching for any reason to betray the other. the hobgrots may have pulled the tigers tail but that conflict was inevitable
>>97039767Looks like he shoved the model up his ass and had an ultrasound picture taken.
>>97039767I think he's just boole again under a new account, so he can start sharing photos without getting traced back to a few legally damnable things he said on that account. and that's why the only posts he's made since this allegedly new guy popped up were "yeah, it's legit" and "btw I'll stop posting now".
>>97039796>"yeah, it's legit"the post in discussion
>>97039804the new guy also slipped and tried talking fluff in a similar way boole did and also has a habit to edit some posts he did to remove stuff after a few minutes (like one photo of an ogre and one post where he mentioned cos gargants, and 3 cos wizards)and both sound ESL
>>97039767The only thing I can make of it is a weird sort of squatting pose with a big triceratops like crest, which I guess magmadroths already have. But yeah idk what to make of it really.
>>97039222No results.
>>97039815the photos are worthless, really, better to ignore them and stick with the words instead
This genuinely looks like something an ai would cook up if you ask it to make "a warhammer gun" or something
>>97039937"Photos" that shite being presented as if they mean anything suggests the words are quite shite too. Ignore it all, we'll get to see what's actually in the pipeline when it's actually released anyway.
>>97039958The images are meant to add trust in what he says as being from something he's seen.I don't trust him because of the images, I trust him because another rumormonger validated one of the photos. It might all be a ruse, but it's less likely than just these being legit to me.It's just that the phots add nothing to what he says if you take his validation as granted.
>>97039953yes, but then again, history can be a weirder source than most people think
>>97040013
>>97040013Assuming that's a legit model pic, they 100% used that as an inspiration. Reminds me of this hussite art I found which was definitely in some concept artist's insipiration board for fusiliers.Speaking of, though >>97039953 looks vaguely marine-y at first glance, that silhouette is pretty similar to the fusilier isn't it? Which the raised half-neck brace (or whatever the actual name for that piece is). Only the helmet is looking a bit weird.
Which faction is most reminiscent of playing weiqi
>>97038589>TQNot every story in it was fantastic but overall I really enjoyed the Warcry Anthology. Its look into the lives of lowly Chaos mooks is what got me to give AoS a chance as a setting.
>>97040028Yeah, the early medieval period is quite clearly where the range set its roots, which is also why the mention of a flamethrower isn't that weird.

I wonder if this means we'll finally get a named gaunt summoner. I mean I'd prefer a central mortal for the faction to have, but its probably more fitting to pair it with a summoner.
>>97040496Nah we get the fatemaster back as a pity hero together with the silver tower. That would also give tzeentch more full armor and contrast more with kairics
>>97040545Shit it'd take it.
>>97040496all gaunt summoners are named there's only 9 of them, they just all look the same so far, if we had to specifically name the one we have I would say it makes the most sense for it to be the tyrant of eyeshe's the one that got its silver tower blown up, so him appearing alongside smaller sliver towers can serve to support the narrative of lacking the bigger thing and slowly rebuilding the various modular parts, that would appear as the scenery pieces in the different armies
>>97040080>Yeah, the early medieval period is quite clearly where the range set its roots, which is also why the mention of a flamethrower isn't that weird.Actually it's Late Medieval aesthetics. Hussite Wars happened close to the end of Medieval period

Another heavily edited reformation pic, which I think is supposed to be the new ranged infantry? Also confirmation of the freeguild gargant being a thing (which is supposedly basically a bigass ogor warhulk in terms of looks). >>97040921Wasn't CoS getting generic mages?
>>97040884>>97040891Erasmus zonn does sound pretty sigmary, but the rest of his titles and stuff do lean tzeentch to me. Also a "chimera of fell cunning" sounds more chaos, especially tzeentch being the change dude fits with chimeras no? Also funny that lumineth are beset by not one but two named mounts that are smarter than they should be. Guess that's a consequence of living in the nerd realm.>>97040892They should've made a generic "realmborne cultist" or something warscroll where you can take little warcry themed upgrades, i.e. some poison for the splintered fang, companion attacks for the untamed beasts, extra save for the iron golems, etc.

>>97040991The storyline in this one was actually kinda cool.
>>97040850Alright schizoposting for a sec, some guy on tga is thinking the symbol on his shield (?) is the big one on the transfer sheet. I'm honestly not so sure, but if we roll with it I tried to scale the image to something similar using the freeguild steelhelm bannerguy, then compared to the existing gargant and warhulk kits. This was done in mspaint and it's obviously shoddy, but maybe it gives us an idea of the scale we're working with. But yeah keep in mind, house of cards etc.
The problem with helsmiths is if you need a horde you get 40-80 hobgrots.More hobgrots? Seriously? You could mix in some other horde units as proxies though.

CoS is very 14/15th century in their aesthetic, yknow late medieval, early renaissance, hussite stuff. I personally quite like it, it's something you don't see a lot in traditional fantasy compared to the classic high medieval stuff just like empire was, while still being distinct from said empire aesthetic.

Siege artillery played a pivotal role in the mid to late Hundred Years War, and handguns were major thing in the Hussite Wars which, as the other anon pointed out, were a late medieval affair (ca 1419-1434). The ironweld cannon is based on 15th century designs, the fusiliers' guns on 14th-15th century ones.
>>97041801>is there electricity in AoS?skaven definitely use it, there're a few necromancers playing with it, kharadrons have something akin to neon lights, I think, sigmarites have lightnings in their spells, but I don't think they use it in their technologies per se.

>CoS rides on top of buck-broken ogres and gargants>Ogors refresh will make the ogors embrace "the old ways" so no more cannons>Ironjawz lost their role as the face of destruction>the entire Age of the Beast storylineIs destruction the most pathetic alliance in the setting?
>>97041865>Is destruction the most pathetic alliance in the setting?Since Gitz exist, I am gonna say no, they are the one saving grace of Destruction lore wise AND model wise
>>97041865yes, but on the other hand they are the grand alliance where a combined arms force would look the best, and aos has shitty fucking rules that don't allow them to do that
If I was GW I'd make a big fat bloated Yellow Horror that is essentially a "Beast of Nurgle" but for Tzeentch and a Screamer hero like Karanak. Also, maybe, some sort of "Slenderman giant" made of warpfire that either teleports around or shoots like artillery or both
>>97041865Kruleboyz are cool and their models stab me
>>97041801They got magical electric batterieshttps://ageofsigmar.lexicanum.com/wiki/Lightning_BatteryAlso dynamos get mentioned in dialog
>>97041865The idea that Destruction is "The Gork and Mork faction" instead of actually "The Destruction faction" was a disaster, and it's very hard to undo.Frankly the only two grand alliances that make sense are Chaos (good old Chaos!) and Death (a smash hit home run of storytelling with grandpa Nagash and his dementia empire)
>>97041932>The idea that Destruction is "The Gork and Mork faction" instead of actually "The Destruction faction" was a disaster, and it's very hard to undo.no
>>97041932I hated the gork and mork shit, ogres and giants going around worshipping a greenskin was always stupid as fuck even if it was handwaved away with aspects snd stuff. The everwinter was 10 times as based, and the new incarnation of the maw seems interesting too.
>>97041891>yellow horror has 6 wounds and comes in a squad of 3>yellow splits into 10 pinks upon death>pinks explode into 10 blue horrors >blues explode into 10 brimstone >opponent has to chew through 36 wounds to kill 1 yellow >" i reinforced the unit to 6 btw"
>>97041894Kruleboyz are the one time that "explaining someone into liking a design" actually worked. I hated their armor and weapons looking like weird jagged shit until I read one of their fluff blurbs that said they intentionally don't put too much effort into crafting weapons that they know can be dropped and lost easily in mud and water.

Gave 4e the cold shoulder at first for IRL stuff, are endless spells/faction terrain still a must-have or can one get away with not using them now? Looking to play DoT or S2D specifically if that helps any specific arguments.

>want to buy marauders>forget they were to be up for pre order today>sold out before the warcom article goes up to inform meGenuine question. Is GW retarded? How difficult is it to put up the warcom like a minute before the pre orders go live and not fucking hours after they sell out. Maybe there is a second wave, they said it's a limited edition box but it says temporarily here so maybe wave 2 is coming like with the battlefroces.

They introduced the "fire" theme and the "fish" theme and the "horrors" theme and they fucking hate them. They want to do more birds and more eyes, or something, they want to rethink it all. It's the only explanation for their generational neglect: they dislike the foundational pillar of the core starting units.

So with tzeentch getting mentions the only armies left with no battletome and no rumours at all are slaanesh, seraphon and lumineth right? Though I guess loomies have that one random hoeth comment.
>>97042257or it could be that the whole collection was just 2 plastic kits that no one wanted to buy in the first place so they scrapped a failed product line
>>97042359Slaanesh has rumors/leaks and is getting a foot hero speculated to be a Blissbarbette to lead the archers.
>>97042367It could, but it's unlikely when you take into account the strange racial hangups the creatives have at Nottingham.
>>97042367They were from WFB and were actually quite popular in AoS back in the day.
>>9704231380 clanrats cleaned and assembled in a little over 5 hours isn't that crazy especially since outside of the banners/leaders/musicians they're 4 repeats per sculpt
>>97042381i played a lot of 1st and 2nd edition in the midwest and only ever saw a single bonesplitterz player, and it wasnt his main army. it was also ass to play against, literally just 300 naked orcs. it was just a raw bucket of dice pile of wounds math army with no interesting gameplay or units whatsoever. literally just dudespam the army, even worse than fyreslayers
>>97042378Wasn't aware of that, did this new guy say anything about them?Speaking of, I think the gargant kit is almost guaranteed to be two of them yeah. If you look at it closely you can see the curved part of the gate, which whould need another half to actually form the gate. You can also faintly make out the fancy "bars" that CoS has, like on the steelhelm and fusilier shields.
>>97042431So basically two giants carrying both halves of this essentially.I wonder if gw is going to address them, the potatocam is getting clear enough that you can actually make out images, and the dude is posting actual rules and shit now. Assuming it's actually real (and it's not a plant) they'd want to get ahead of this. Maybe some reveals monday?
Looks like we are getting some more StD proxies. This time God marked chaos warriors. Going off other arcane journals. These are 1 to 1 of how the models shields will look like as well.
>>97042452If tow wanted to differentiate their chaos warrior models this would be one way to do it I guess, and I certainly wouldn't be against more options for blood warriors and myrmidesh, not to mention fucking tzeentch.Seems like a rather strange allotment of resources though. Also haven't they really been hammering home that chaos divided isn't really a thing in the tow time period? Would be quite the 180
>>97042452those khorne shields will look great on my WE army
>>97042484>Also haven't they really been hammering home that chaos divided isn't really a thing in the tow time period?Historically Chaos was never binary prior to AoS. in Fantasy. You were either godmarked or undivided, you were just Chaos and you could run an army dedicated to a single God or run a bunch of units with different marks as an undivided army or just take undivided marks only for another type of undivided army. The differentiation of these factions as their standalone factions rather than aspects of a whole is a recent GW move for both AoS and 40k. Also the rumors have the 6 Chaos kits and Kislev as the next major releases. That's because the narrative is building for the Great War against Chaos, which involves Chaos doing a massive invasion from the North into Kislev.
>>97042346This is what happens to a game when DEI hires have creative power. Magic looks worse than that (since 2018)
>>97042519Yeah I know that individual chaos armies weren't a thing in aos, I was just under the impression that gw was really keeping things focused on pure undivided for tow. But that's just secondhand information of course, I don't actually know mucy about how they're handling stuff over there.Anyway, how would this kit work? Bits to make all your warriors fully devoted to any one god? Sounds like a lot a challenge to fit into one box. Would chosen, knights, ... get a similar treatment?
>>97042568We don’t know many details other than those shields and there being 6 kits alongside and then full sized Kislev release. This is just for major releases (kits), there’s a bunch of books in the works too. The Mammoth kit is the only one we have specifics.
>Waaaah I want Tzeentch to be Cronenbergian and shit!Well I want DoT to have bipedal fish and I care a lot more about that.
>>97042333>Add the vortex beast and mindstealer sphiranx as monsters and its goodI want them so badly, GW please just write them into the battletome so I can use them. I don't really see the point of a "big Horror" when they could just add the mutalith. I suppose there could be something in between normal horrors and the mutalith, but I'd rather they do something original instead of "even bigger horror". It starts to get into squig territory and that kind of silly stuff doesn't really fit tzeentch.
>>97042380No I don't think it is. Bonesplitterz were a half ass faction and got squatted appropriately. If fyreslayers didn't have magmadroths and flame elements to them, they would have been dropped off too.
>>97042673Its just so bizarre why gw isnt adding them properly into the faction, same for the slaughter brute and khorne >inb4 "he's bound by a magic daggerNow its a special khorne demon dagger
>>97042627Based [spoiled] slop [/spoiler] enjoyer
>>97042346The Aztecs and Mexicans are renowned for their eagle hunting uh huh why keep the traditional Mongol influence if they're just WE WUZ COWBOYS
Confirmation that cogforts will be available to all GA's, apparently with different warscrolls for each:>It has dedicated rules assigned to the Four Great Alliance, usable by all factions>Oh, and it comes with 6 different Warscrolls>I'm afraid CoS armies should probably get at least 4 Cogforts — gotta say>H25?>Save3+?
>>97042194>fish themeI don't really see much of a fish theme besides starfysh and slop, which are some obscure, very much not mainline units. Tzeentch has a lot of weird shit, so continuing to make weirdo freaks works but I get what you mean. It's nowhere nearly as cohesive of a concept as nurgle or khorne. I like the birds but I don't really want them to go all in on birds for the whole range. Esoteric cosmic horror with eyes and tentacles is cool and fits tzeentch well so I hope they go more in that direction.
You now remember that ogroid theridons have the 4 god marks for their banner but are STD exclusive.
>>97042731So the cogfort is just a piece of terrain with special rules? A la the 40k bastion defences? That’s lame. It means instead of being a mainstay it’ll stop receiving rules in a few years and be forgotten.
>>97041996>do you need endless spells for tzeentchbrother, you have like 30 spell casting heroes, what do you think.
>>97042056Cool stuff, did you design that yourself or did you find the STL somewhere?
>>97041996dsiciples still has a regiment of renown with the endless spells for cheap on ebay
>>970419964e sucks balls I would highly recommend you play a few games before deciding to buy more. A lot of people have dropped out in my area due to the 40kification of AoS this edition, gameplay wise I mean .
>>97042751I don't think that's what he's implying, no. Earlier he talked about the rules for the hysh wizard dude, who's apparently able to teleport units, and he mentioned you wanna do this with your cogforts. Idk how the bunkers work in 40k but the fact that cogforts have legs should also make them a lot more difficult. What I'm more worried about is the sheer practicality of bringing on to the table. I also think big expensive units like that (with shooting!) are going to be hard to balance, at least from what I've heard about knights in 40k again.
>>97042346>characterize a fictional race as stupid, dumb, ugly, violent murder machines>Wow these guys remind me of brown people!western lefties are the most racist people alive
>>97042386a better question is what would drive someone to put together 80 clanrats. Why not any other skaven unit
>>97042806Cause I've already built and painted the rest of my skaventide box and am waiting on my christmas box now
>>97042789I would guess that the cogfort is probably slow as shit and you'll need something to teleport it into combat. >What I'm more worried about is the sheer practicality of bringing on to the table. I also think big expensive units like that (with shooting!) are going to be hard to balance, at least from what I've heard about knights in 40k againthere's a fine line but it's very doable. As long as it's not completely fuckhuge, they could could cost it points wise like the KO ironclad, giving it a better melee profile with worse movement. It might end up being more like Alarielle or Archaon on the dragon where it's more of a decorative model and points costed way too high for a normal 2k game. I don't think it should be too hard to get something closer to the ironclad in size and stats but time will tell
>>97042822I am a little apprehensive because of the hit and miss recent releases. Hopefully we get Maggotkin tier sculpts and not HoH type shit. A bad looking cogfort with good rules could ruin the aesthetic of AoS tables.
>>97042837> not HoH type shit. A bad looking cogfort with good rules could ruin the aesthetic of AoS tablesHelsmiths have the opposite problem, good models and bad rules for the models like the bull cannon.

If they had given kruelboyz the wolf riders and put them in a split faction box with gloomspite on squigz it would have been awesome.

If I could make Warcry 3e, the big & cool box would have a set of skavenized city terrain and be witch hunters vs plague monks. The general storyline is warbands are looting the remains of aqshian cities destroyed by the vermindoom, with some factions just in it for the bag with others trying to stake a permanent claim. >>97043940It's a few more steps than that but I am aiming for something I can bust out decently easily while still looking nice since I'll have a fuckton of bases to go through>>97043941They're for my skaven but somebody a couple threads ago suggested chamon basing and I liked the thematics of itHave another base waiting for the paste to set up to test out another workflow starting with an oxide-y orangebrown and drybrushing with a dark steel and highlighting up from there, with some streaks of gold running through as wellwas also thinking of grabbing some water gel and mixing it with a bright silver for streams on some of the bigger bases
>>97043946I would maybe grab the spearhead first and give that ago before grabbing the other box, I'm not a cities player so i have no idea if the unit spread is good. >painting necrons ain't hardCities is in the top 5 hardest to paint factions for AoS, maybe top 3. More than the actual difficulty, it's also just very time consuming if you want to actually paint all the different details and filigree to look kind of how it looks on the box. If you're coming from 40k you should already know what your getting into, but I would expect painting CoS units to take probably 3 times as long as necrons.
>>97043965Yeah they look like they are a lot of work but they don't see all that hard to paint. There's a lot of armor on them and also wood. Normally I would get the Spearhead and paint it up but there are some good black friday deals and obviously that won't be the case for too long.
>>97043979>black friday dealsif they're anything like my LGS it's probably only 10-15% off from whatever the current LGS price is. I've picked up most of my army second hand. You can't always find exactly what you need but on ebay and facebook marketplace you can get stuff for way better prices. Most of the stuff I've gotten on ebay was probably 80-70% of MSRP, and that was for sealed, in the box stuff, if it's already assembled or painted you might get it even lower.
>>97044005Yeah it's about 20% off from the LGS price. Marketplace is not very active in my country and they rape you on import taxes if you buy from outside the EU.
>>97043929Doubling up on the Warhulks and Fusiliers isn't the worst thing, but that is a fuckload of dudes to paint - and they're all very detailed.
>>97043929>>97043946Fuck off decalfag, go back to your containment thread
Does anyone know good proxxies for the terrain used in spearhead? I can't find the board and terrain that came in the fire and jade pack so I'm thinking I can print another set. As for the board, do people sell proxy mats? I'm trying to do a teaching game with my brother and it's just better to use the official mat for clarity.>>97043929The founding foray christmas box is pretty good but the new spearhead is kind of redundant with the ogor character.See if you can get the old spearhead. I think GW is still making them but snag it if you can. It has steelhelms (which you will need) and some more cav and another canon. It's just a cooler and more useful box vs the warcry guys, more rifles, and another ogor.I also heard the new spearhead is weaker than the old one in the actual game of Spearhead.>>97041688I saw it a while ago. It's the one with the wilderfiend and the giant cogfort right? I liked it but realistically I think scantily armored barbarians even on horseback should get BTFO'd by an oranized sigmarite platoon with shields and firearms.
>>97044069>>97044138I have decided to get pic related for now. It was priced like the Spearhead so pretty good. Unfortunately the old Spearhead is not available. I'll get The Founding Foray after I paint the army set as it's available in multiple LGS' so I won't miss out on it.>>97044135What?
>>97044168Hope you didn't pay for anything but the models and transfers.
>>97044177I essentially paid for two units of Steelhelms and got the rest for free.
>>97044138If you look up Skaventide terrain, it's the same thing and tons of people sell that shit second hand. Might be a bit annoying to get it with the board but you should be able to get both together 50-60 bucks if you look around online. If you want to proxy something it's 4 small fences and a basicaly rectangular coffin and a hexagon, so you could easily cut out some paper markers if you just want to teach someone the game.
Which army has the best cavalry?
>>97044271Gitz. No contest
>>97044168>army boxlucky you found it for the price you did. You're going to need the steel helms and 10-20 more but I'm not a CoS fag so idk for sure. It should be a good compliment to whatever other box you get, so go nuts. even the new spearhead I advised against would be good choice.>what?it's a /40kg/ thing. A couple trolls have the entire thread mindbroken by simply posting a couple cringy images every so often. the guy telling you to fuck off is one such schizo who thinks you're a space wolves collector they call "decalfag"then again they play 40k so what do you expect, really?
>>97044317Yeah I've been looking through some lists to see what a CoS army looks like and it seems that most of them go hard on cavalry. I guess that I'll just do a variety of units since CoS is supposed to get a battletome and another wave next year so I won't be in a hurry to start playing. Of course I'm sticking to the new stuff as I expect CoS to lose some units and gain new ones. I'm looking forward to painting their knights. As for /40kg/ I stay away from them so I have no knowledge about their posters. I hope they stay away from this thread as it's super comfy.
Can’t stop thinking about the order of the furrow.
Can't stop thinking about Alarielle's feet.
>>97042763No I played a now dead game.
>>97038589Soon
well, no more blurry shit
>>97044434I now expect boole to come back in a purely incidental fashion
>>97044337>3 cannons>spam Command Corps>Cav>Obligatory Wizard/Priest (usually Zenestra)>Callis and Toll + their friends
>>97044462Yeah that's exactly what I saw, also a variation with that flying lion lady.
>>97044471AoS tourny meta is very stagnant and depressing.
>>97044476It's still not as bad as some other armies.
>>97044480I'm referring to AoS as a whole, but yeah. Most lists are just 3 Warscrolls being spammed, we're at least like 5.
>>97044434Watch literally all of the "photos" being AI generated fakes
Can't stop thinking about sexcow
Why do some people seethe at leaks and insist they are bad and evil? I think it's good to know what to expect and it helps people decide on a new army. Knowing your army is fucked for the next 2 years vs. knowing it's gonna get a wave of models is huge yet some people seethe and don't want there to be any leaks (even though they can just not view them if they don't want to) and cry how tough of a job GW employees have when they have to adjust and cover for various leaks. I mean who gives a shit if we force them to show us something early.
>>97044599Sounds more like he thinks they're bullshit larp
>>97044599I feel like people get upset when they can't just make up things coming soon. Before we'd have people say shit was coming, call it a wishlist, and tell him to fuck off, but they'd usually carry on about it for a few months and make it their new fun shitpost like fimir for 3rd edition or fishmen in 2nd
>>97044616To be fair the fimir faggot still continues his shtick half a decade later, long after it's gotten old
>>97044599in that case I think it's seething at fake and gay leaks specifically
For someone trying to make a come back after skipping the 3e, what is the rule of thumb for listbuilding? I bought SCE halves of Skaventide and Dominion, 5 Vigilors, 5 Vanquishers and a Chariot. I don't really care for meta and my goal is to build a singleton army (no more than one copy of each unit) but I still want to make it as reasonable as possible.
>>97044601>>97044616I saw plenty of people complaining about the Nightbringer leak which forced GW to just show the whole model because it wasn't "hype" enough. I don't get it personally.
>>97043929I painted the Wildercorps Hunters. They were a joy to paint, and the dogs too. I breezed through them in a week. From experience, painting dudes on horses is a pain if you're a perfectionist and sub assemble them in parts to paint everything on them. Big war machines too. The rest looks prety easy though. I say go for it, but then I did paint an entire army of Skaven (310 models) so these look like a fairly easy job to me.
>>97044631I think you kind of answered your own question anon. As always pick the models you will enjoy hobbying and be proud to field. It's fine to make a neat fluffy list but don't expect to win. Throw in a couple reliable, meta options that you like as a safeguard to prevent a total stomp, I suppose.
I painted up some individual models over the past couple weeks and i finally sat down to varnish and clean up the stains on the base.
>>97044677unfortunately my iPhone camera fucking sucks at photographing models and I have to send it to myself via whatsApp to save room in my email
>>97044679>>97044677
>>97044599>Why do some people seethe at leaks and insist they are bad and evil? For me specifically those blurred photos feel more luke controlled marketing than real leaks, that is either done by gw themselves or some idiot who wants attention.Pic related for example was a real leak, people can actually see the miniature and start speculating what the rest of the range looks like etc.For the example in your picture, its fucking reddit what do you expect.
>>97044683forgot the picture
>>97044553I'd climb her peaks and plant my flag in them if you get what I mean
>>97044715and boobs
>>97044715>and plant my flagSame.
>>97044553Haha I wonder who has to do her sweaty laundry after battle I bet it's stimky haha
>>97044480To be fair slinging around 5 terrogheists and two dragons looks kinda fun. Very surprised it's actually good though
>>97044480This is just 2e Gristlegor
Dark water is like 160gp so uh…$220 usd?
I just hope the new CoS stuff isn't a bunch of human freeguilders, and especially not a bunch of human freeguilders with with regressed technology and basic bitch real world animal companions.
>>97044840You’ll take your two elf hating named character and like it
>>97044840All the retarde rumours are a mech and gargants
>Perlo felt fragile things crunch beneath her as she fought her way back up the shifting bank. One hand came up with something thin-walled and hollow. A skull, she thought, and then, A cup? But it was neither. In her hand sat a broken egg, lozenge-shaped and as big as her fist. Through the end she’d smashed open she saw a curled-up lizard shape, large-headed, premature.>‘Pools of breeding.’ Irixi was wringing at its robe.>‘I’m sorry.’>‘For why?’>‘Your… young. Your children, or…?’ The thing in the egg certainly looked like it might have grown up into an Irixi. Or else just some big lizard. The whole thing seemed oddly heavy, and she realised it had been transmuted into or coated with stone. Some quality of the water, she guessed. Shyish, obsessively burying and fixing everything that came under the realm’s aegis.>‘Is not of children. Is of beast. Beast-servant.’ The Seraphon looked from her to the egg. ‘Divine Starborne, we form of the waters, of the magic, of the will of the Masters. Only lesser beings arise from egg or womb.’>That’s put me in my place, Perlo thought. Did that mean the Seraphon weren’t really… alive, like some magical construct? She felt an acute stab of alienation, trying to understand life without something as intrinsic as family, children
>>97044871fuck, spoilers
>>97044599I think reddit doesn't realise that they come from tga, from a guy with at least some credibility. So it's just random blurry pics with zero provenance to them. It's funny how mad they get though.>>97044830Damn, I think that's the same price as skaventide. So 210 euros, like 250 burgers? Quite hefty, cursed city was a lot less.
>>97044871>The Seraphon looked from her to the egg. ‘Divine Starborne, we form of the waters, of the magic, of the will of the Masters. Only lesser beings arise from egg or womb.’based Irixi putting the warmbloods in their place
>>97044599>I CAN'T JUST IGNORE THEM OKAY?! STOP GIVING THESE GUYS ATTENTION IT'S UNFAIR TO GW PLUS IT'S A CONTROLLED LEAK OBVIOUSLY
>>97044138If you're not in a tournament the exact placement doesn't matter. Just throw 6" circles down in approximate locations. A 160mm base is good for this tbhon, though 6" is actually 154mm or something
Someone just told me that sisters of silence wouldn’t look out of place with stormcast and that realization hit me like a fucking truck.
>>97044940If you abstract it to >armoured guys fit with armoured guys then yeah. If you don't have autism it's obvious they share next to nothing in common.
>>97044881I figured it should be okay since it doesn't say anything about what they're doing together.
>>97044949I've not read the post in any case, just seen it was from the novel, carry on
>>97044940yeah their power armor doesnt actually have any of the mechanical power armor elements or like power packs or anything, and the armor style is fairly reminiscent of stormcastthe only real problem is that the models themselves look small even on their 32mm bases. so they 100% would not work for stormcast. but for some kind of stormcast adjacent cities of sigmar unit or like elven allies of sigmar or something? surethat said, at $60 for 5 small models, you're not exactly in for a bargain, and you'd kinda just be better off buying vanquishers or something where you get twice the models for the cost and they're actually stormcast
>>9704500360 for 5 sisters is really weird, are they resin or something? They don't seem like very ornate models or anything
>>9704503040k taxplus they're probably like 15pts for 5
Quick little bloodreaver I did today. Told myself I’d batch paint but I kind of just kept going while the other 6 remaining minis watched. Not gonna highlight it, base coat + washes are enough for these chumps that die to a mean look. Got 6 more to go
>>97045104Backside of this manlet
>>97045104>>97044677Looks cool as hell. Almost makes me wish I picked Khorne as my chaos patron to paint up.
>>97045030not resin, 40ks just very expensive. they sell people 3 marines for $60unfortunately aos is starting to do this now too, with shit like boltboyz and brute ragerz
>>97045123Thanks. Too bad they have really odd proportions that are almost comical. I only got the spearhead to get a taste of the mortal side but I know their overdue refresh is gonna be awesome.
>>97044599I remember in monster hunter there were a significant amount of people getting pissed, not at data miners and leaks, but at marketing reveals. They felt entitled almost to going into a game completely blind. Probably doesn’t translate well to war games though
Since we are talking about Bloodreavers, I just painted those a few days agoI'm painting another 10 right now
>>97045408I really adore the BoK that launched the army in 2015. Yeah the models look cartoony and have stocky proportions, but I find that charming. They look like evil henchmen from a Hanna-Barbera cartoon with a grimdark glazing. Just lovely little dudes.
>>97045102Wdym that’s how a bunch of the 5 model units are priced
Someone explain why they Legends Kainans gang? It's not like the reapers are drowned for choice in terms of units what with having 20 of them including all the characters.
>>97045432Yeah, I presumed GBP or Euro but still £38 for 100pts, 5 models £40 for 280pts, 5 Chaos Chosen models 40k is more expensive in general
>>97045470If they were a generic unit they would sell more of them which is obviously not in GW's best interests I think it's a supply issue. If GW can't keep it in stock and provide official rules for models in rotation production they lose any copyright battle against people making rip offs intended for proxies like chapterhouse which would snowball into exposing how ridiculous their IP rights are
Come to think of it, despite there being a whole game about the Silver Towers the Gaunt Summoners fly around in, I don't believe there's a visual for the Silver Towers in AoS.
>>97045637Probably has something to do with everyone being in it. Though I think there is a visual of it in wrath of the everchosen, I might be misremembering however.

>To anyone who've readHow gay is this thing? Bad Loon Rising was a huge bait and switch with half the book being a lesbian love drama.
>>97045687
>>97045676Damn this one is pretty cool
>>97045710nothing gay on my end yetunless you really want to force a ship between gokumet the saurus and vael(geta) the stormcast
>>97045726Do they do the annoying they/them shit, or are they 'it' ?How is the book, good?
>>97045738 >>97045738
>>97045735It.Could be better, the book evidently exists just for the author to try his best at handling very different points of views between the human and lizard characters; it's having some nice moments, but I think the differences fall flat after a while, becoming slightly predictable and dragged along. One of the main points of view is a stormcast, and so far it's the most evocative parts, speaking as someone who wanted as much lizard as possible and doesn't like stormcasts. It feels fresh and worth it to me simply because you can't really get lizards pov elsewhere.
