I will say that removing mouldlines off all the tattered cloth is a little annoying, but after a while you get a sense for where they're placing them and it goes really fast. If you do go with them, leave them off the base into you prime them and blast them from the underside with black before sticking them on the bases and doing your normal prime, it can be frustrating to get up inside their deeper folds when they're all put together.

Just use your clippers and snip them flush. You don't necessarily want them or need them to be their full height, you can split them halfway up and then glue a bunch of them close together to get that volume
