>TQIts not great, but it has a special place in my heart.
>>97059938>Favourite Equipment?I used to run this in my vorosh deck, it still has a fond place in my heart
Stop running equipments
>>97059983Why?
>>97059991So he can stop losing to them.
>TQI like it, I love it, I want some more of it
>>97059938>tq
>>97060020That reminds me I need this card for canlander
>>97060014But arent decks equipment mostly bad
>>97060018If it weren't legendary it would be the all time goat
>>97059938>TQ
>>97060052Anon dies to them and then the equipment player died. Duh
Even if you reduce my life total, mill me out, or do a "I win the game" setup, those are cheap so I have the morral, and correct victory still.Commander damage falls into one of these "fake wins"
>>97060146>Dies to poison
>>97060146Too scared to rule 0 commander damage huh?
>>97060219Why would I be afraid to? Its the fake winners, likely like yourself, that refuse to allow it to be taken out.Do you think before you post?
>>97060146>I am bleeding...making me the victor
>>97060237I'm agreeing with you stupid. I'd even let you rule 0 it. If it would shut your whiny ass up.
I still run this because it is a great Greater Good target and ramps you from the mid to end game.
>>97059961it's a hylda staple
>>97060020>>97060096both of these have won me so many games with xenagos. a double power double strike haste ojer kaslem is a level of sexy nobody is ever prepared for, especially if you pull moraug and still have a land drop open (or god forbid, a fetch land) for your second main phase
each upcoming UB precon should feature reprints from older UB sets with their original artwork
>>97060369Yeah I agree with that fully honestly. Have a reprint slot dedicated to previous sets. Would hopefully cool down some unique card prices.
>>97059938>Favourite Equipment?obviously
>>97060303>hydra staple>whiteYou mean one deck...
>>97060472>12 bucksDamn, i shoulda paid more attention to that set
>>97060488well there there aren't many tap commanders
>>97060519Welp I read that as hydra lol
>>97059938>TQCreature removal
>>97060542Sometimes it's just draw a card, sometimes it's a tutor.
>>97060553Hell yeah
>>97060553>used it in my gut deck once to tutor the one skeleton in the deck>Clattering Augur >friends looked at me like I'm fucking retardedstill won the game tho
>>97060532It's fucked up this is the only card that got errated to have Lifelink.
>>97060647elephants had it too good for too long
Do you guys have any tips for decks that don't rely on the commander? Sometimes I want to just play a deck that feels like magic.
>>97059938TQ
Red has so many explosive, fun spells. But I can't find any mono red commanders that look fun/interesting.
>>97060664Just pretend your commander doesn't exist while building? i dont get what's confusing about this. build a deck that gets its resources from itself and has a gameplan that isnt in the command zone.
>>97060664Run this guy and then just run a 99 card value pile.
>>97060692sry let me post the better version
>>97060664There you did it. Generic 5c slop pile that doesn't need its commander.
>>97060681>>97060692>>97060714Ok so what if I wanted to make a 3 color goodstuff pile that may not necessarily look interesting but was heavily interactive and won by turning stuff sideways. I kinda just want to jund people out
>>97060733Goyfs and Altar of Dementia lines there go make a deck.
>>97059938Sword of unlimited value.
>>97060665Ah, the win condition of my old proliferation deck.I'd slap that on something like an Arcbound Worker and two turns later I had a 20/20 psycho rapist offering players suggestions on how to rearrange their internal organs.
>>97060762>sword of wombo and combo
What decks are the dark triad of edh?
>>97060733>jund turn sideway shitpileOgnis, the Dragon's Lash
>>97060793Anthing that contains black, anything that contains blue, and whatever freaks use colorless commanders and are really just dumping broken artifacts and eldrazi.
>>97060793The guy who says his deck is bracket 3/a 7, whines incessantly every time anyone even thinks about attacking him, and talks about how cool and thematic their deck is before dropping thoracle+consult.
>>97060823to be fair, you can fit ALOT of flavour and theme in your deck when your wincon is only 2 cards
>>97060747Maybe I'm not asking the right question. For those if you who enjoy value piles, what makes for fun matches? How proactive vs reactive? I am aiming to play some deck that has a little mote shelf life and makes interesting board states more common. Higher variance, less reliant on pure synergy but also makes me and my opponents make decisions especially around combat. I've found after playing brawl for a while that proper attacks and blocks, combat tricks and all that is a part of edh that I dont get to experience much. Goading decks are fun but they dont actually allow for my opponents to make a decision. Again idk if Im asking the right questions yet
>>97060793A genuinely terribly built deck that relies on cheating to win Skinny Mike, I'm looking at you.
>>97060793CedhCedhCedh
>>97060839>little mote shelf lifeLittle more shelf-lifeI tend to get bored with highly synergistic decks quickly I can only landfall or proliferate so many times, boss.
>>97060839
>>97059964This gets better as creatures get cheaper and more powerful
>>97060664Look at 60 card decks, adapt one into a 99 card singleton list, then pick a commander that works as a useful plan B.
>>97060839a deck that doesn't care about their commander =/= value pile
>>97059938I just think it's neat.I really want to make a fishing-pole themed deck and it's hard to break
>>97059938I stick this in decks, even if it's suboptimal, just because I like it so much.
>>97060577>Clattering AugurThis is such a cool looking card. A skeleton seer is an interesting concept. I still wish we had more skeleton options.
whats a fun mono green ramp commander? maybe this new guy and then go a bit of bear tribal
>>97060146Imagine actually fucking losing to mill in a format with 300 cards to go through.
>>97060948You can do that with a two card combo.
>>97060937
>building multiple spellslinging decks>end up shoving in Prologue to Phyresis and Radstorm in all 3I just like infect I guess
>>97060958Yeah, to one (1) player. No different from any other two card combo. Mill is still a joke overall; if you don't have Bruvac or he gets removed you might as well not have a deck. And god help you if you're going against reanimator or golgari in general.
>>97060959sounds fun. are the 6 mana a problem or not?
>>97060472I dont see how this thing is super pricey. I put one in Taii because I pulled an alt art from EOE but man its so expensive for what it does.
>TQI just think it's neat.
>>97061009It's an endlessly repeatable protection spell against literally anything that doesn't have split second, and because they phase out *with the creature they're equipped to* it can also defend *itself*
>>97061009It's an equipment that lets you dodge board wipes without all of your equipment or auras or counters falling off. It's inexpensive to cast and equip, and even gives your voltron target a better statline.
>>97061009It was really only printed in one not very well selling commander set and as a bonus card in a low-volume set
>>97060714my decklist with him is only three colors
>>97061013I hate this wording>Play a spell
>>97060937drop lands make badgers.dec
>>97060914Go on
>>97060678There are plenty. What is it about them you don't like?
>>97060678There's so many bro
>>97061035looks fun too. Im gonna check her out>>97061070was just looking at decklists of her and I still have her lying around somewhere
>>97060937I've played him a ton on Forge, been meaning to actually pick the deck up in paper.
>>97060664>Do you guys have any tips for decks that don't rely on the commander? Sometimes I want to just play a deck that feels like magic.lord and savior
>>97061070I bet she washes feet really well
>>97061093That looks interesting, I'll wait for an omenpath/uw version
>>97061079Azusa's still got the right stuff:>Wants lots of lands in the deck, but doesn't need to spend a lot of mana every turn on ramp spells which is more cards that can be devoted to card draw, a perennial mono-green weakness>Casting her is rarely going to be countered and when she's on board it doesn't really matter whether she gets blown up because you've already likely gotten 4-6 lands of value off her>Any fetchlands no matter how dogshit they are plus any land recursion means you will be hitting 3 lands a turn guaranteed and potentially six landfall triggers just off of looping evolving wilds or some shit>Ramp into any big fuck X-cost spell you want
>>97061102>I'll wait for an omenpath/uw versionLol, lmao even
>>97060977>I don't understand how to make it work without the #1 ranked mill commander Ebin small brain selfreport Buddy
>>97061070they could at least make her qt
>>97061085somehow I dont like hydras lol. they all feel like they are the same>>97061118yea sounds very strong. only downside would be that you would have a rather uninteresting commander
>>97061128Anon, Bruvac is literally the only way to make it work enough to be competitive. Mill is already not very viable in 60-card formats; nevermind in a format where there are FIVE TIMES AS MUCH CARDS TO GO THROUGH.
>>97060664you can't get more generic than just ramp in the command zone you don't need it, there's 0 build restrictions necessary to play him and you're in the 2 most flexible colors in the game
>>97061138>It's the only way because EDHREC said so!
>deck depends on the commander but only on turn 3 :)
>>97061133They did anon.>>97061135You are playing mono-green ramp! Put the payoffs in your deck and keep the ramp in your command zone.
>>97061145Name me your revolutionary strategy to make mill 5 times as stronger, then. It's not a good strat in commander.
>>97061152Looping sacs through altar of dementia to mill out the table isn't even hard
>>97061152Gonna have to actually play the game and get off EDHREC if you want answers, not spoon-feeding idiots
>>97061157If you have an infinite sac combo literally anything can serve as a payoff.
kamigawa azusa has the biggest cleavage so she is still the best one
>>97061163of which mill is one of them, so make some fucking lemonade with this will ya
>>97061163You don't need an infinite combo, just a few creatures with a lot of power.
>>97061120Its 100% happening
>>97061174If you have 200+ power ready to sac just swing with it and win nigga
>>97061135Sure, most of them are "Fireballs on legs". But there's a surprising amount of utility, too. Goldvein Hydra, Ulvenwald Hydra, and Rampant Rejuvenator help ramp. Lifeblood Hydra, Genesis Hydra, and Apex Devastator give card advantage. Hooded Hydra and Hydra Broodmaster go wide. Voracious Hydra and Polukranos kill stuff. Plus, you have access to green's +1/+1 counter, cost reduction, and "stats matter" mechanics.
>mill decks
>>97061174Mill is if anything the worse payoff available. If you have a creature that wants to die and return a lot, a Blood Artist will give the payoff while pinging your enemies and letting you survive. Ashnod's or Phyrexian Altar will provide you with a lot of mana over the course of the game, and even Viscera Seer will smooth out your draws. Meanwhile, Dementia Altar is literally a completely dead card on hand without a ready combo. I would rather have literally any other sac outlet.
>>97061165Shame about the fucked up face though.
>>97061180Will do ;)
lol
>>97061188Kozilek is my nigga.>not overused like Ulamog the Rapist>not a piece of shit like Emrakul (UNBAN THE GOOD ONE)>draws cards>annihilator, bitch>menace>can counterspell (theoretically)
>>97061210are these eyeballs in its arms
>>97061214Yes, a lot of Eldrazi have eyes on their elbows. Kozilek also has a giant eye (the big armored ball). Without his armor he's a freaky pile of tentacles and eyes.
>>97061214In the elbows. It doesn't need to look anywhere but down, after all.
>>97061204Oh ya, that was a thing.
>>97061214According to Ugin, no. It's just something you think looks like an eye. Eldrazi biology is convoluted to the point of insanity. The words he used was something to the effect of, imagine you are a fish and you see a man stick his hand into the water. You see a five-headed monster, and believe its nails are faces, because you cannot comprehend the whole.
>>97061233>Ugin says the Titans are just a guy's hand in a pond>HEY GUYS LET'S TRAP THE HAND IN A BOX THAT WILL DO THE TRICK>IT TOTALLY WON'T PISS THE CREATURE OFF AND MAKE IT SLAM THE POND BECAUSE WE BIT ITS HANDJace was right to sass the homosexual dragon.
>>97061239You know now that I think about it Nahiri doesn't even know anything about what happened to Ugin because neither him nor Sorin bothered telling her about it at any point. She probably just assumed he died and that's why he didn't answer the call. Then she saw him squaring up against Bolas in WAR and thought>what the fuck. did literally nobody in our club give a fuck about zendikar but me
>>97060931Skeleton seer is a kino archetype
>>97059938>TQsunforger. accept no substitutes.
>>97061262I'm fairly sure NO ONE gave a fuck about Zendikar.>Eldrazi want it as an afternoon snack>Ugin wants to use it as "acceptable losses">the rest of the Jacestice League is dicking around
>>97060678Play Ragavan
>>97060692>99 card value pilethis is just most WUBRG decks
>>97060931I don't like to say this, but sometimes I feel like there are a lot of people in the world that do not care for skeletons. Sometimes I lie awake in the night, thinking about cool skeletons like the one from the Wishmaster opening (timestamp https://youtu.be/k_cb451sRlU?si=pWWlSLa2HORhEmy8&t=114 ). The skeleton showing up behind the pillar and putting its arm on the guy's shoulder still has me in tears. How can anyone not like these happy brittle fucks?
>>97061271Now, let's be fair here, the Jacetice league DID bust their asses for it. They only dicked around after it was more or less cleaned up.
>>97061271Eldrazi didn't even want to eat Zendikar, Emrakul peaced out as quick as fuck and Kozilek was on his way out before Obby yanked him back in. They only showed up in the first place because Nahiri's original spell called them, they want "receptive soil" (current best guess: old dying planes) and Zendikar doesn't qualify.
>>97061188>he thinks my mill deck is about milling his library outthat's just my alternative wincon. my primary goal is reanimating and stealing your shit.
>>97061296Then your deck is reanimator facilitated by mill, not mill.
Everyone I play with tends to play decks that go wide or go huge almost without fail.Think endless tokens or endless counters. How tf do I play as the one player that does not really like to play that way? Any time I try to do some sort of removal or anything to stop it, I become priority target number 1 because everyone else "just wants to play the game" and by doing that I'm just "not letting them play the game"Its kind of getting annoying. I'm not very good at magic, nor am I pretending to be really, but it is fun when I'm not getting my shit kicked in by 3 other players with 35+ 3/3 tokens, or 72/72 creatures with vigilance, menace, and trample.Whats a good way to deal with a situation like this? Would try any color or color combination. Preferably something easy to grasp, but a little complexity is fine too. Even if I'm just playing defense the whole game, not swinging at anyone, but not letting anyone touch me specifically, I would be happy with that.
>>97061304Orzhov. Lots of boardwipes. Just boardwipe tribal. They will learn eventually.
>>97061304mono blue. it's gay and lame but someone has to do it.
>>97061301who plays pure mill? don't you just die to literally any competent deck?
>>97061308one up. mardu, zurgo helmsmasher commander. gives access to blas act, chain lightning, crackling doom, inevitable defeat, and plenty of other faggotry.
>>97061314the conversation was people saying mill is a really shitty wincon yes
>>97061304Ultimately if the people you play with are complaining about that shit they're probably going to complain about any start that doesn't play for big numbers on the board.
>>97061308>Boardwipe tribalI tried something like that recently and when they realized what I was doing I was never eliminated from a game so quickly in my life lol. I don't know how good the deck really was overall, but still.I guess my question in reality is, are there any play styles or deck focuses that are basically just "leave me alone - do not touch me" decks?>>97061311I enjoy mono blue, but I don't do it much because they see red when they hear "I'm playing mono blue." Not opposed to doing it again though.
>>97060977No, not to one.
>>97061314As it's occasionally playable in other formats (when phyrexian jace was legal in standard he was a really good control wincon) people try to do it in commander too. It's either bruvac it up or nothing, not even a dedicated mill commander who can mill every player for 10 or 20 every turn like Mindskinner just ends up being voltron but worse
>>97061325>they're probably going to complain about any start that doesn't play for big numbers on the board. They do.But ultimately, I'm not trying to get them to "not complain" anymore. I tried that. Now I just want to be able to survive lol
>>97061035seconded
>>97061304Piles and piles of defensive combat spellsInkshield, Fog effects, Aetherize, Aetherspouts, Settle the Wreckage, Hellish Rebuke, even stuff like Rakdos Charm or Illusionist's Gambit can work, the goal is to make people think twice about attacking you.Grab Ghostly Prison type effects too, btfos tokens and more importantly encourages the cavemen to club each other while you work on whatever dastardly wincon you've packed today.
>>97061304Seconding Mardu. Cards like Deflecting Palm and Rakdos Charm can help, too.
>>97061326mono blue and dimir you can at least make people regret going after you by just leaving mana open on their turn and playing instants.
>>97061304literally just cast insurrection until they stop overcommitting to board.or fog loop
>>97061326Okay, so, hear me out here. Kardur blink with those "return it to the battlefield tapped" effects. Sac him, return him, keep doing it over and over and watch the cavemen murderize one another.
>>97061341>>97061345>>97061349>>97061350>>97061352Thanks, gonna look through everyone's suggestions here soon and try to come up with something.
>>97061352Kardur is amazing in any deck that runs red and black. The best protection is ensuring everyone's shit is firing at anyone but you.And because he's an ETB if literally doesn't matter if he dies after. If anything it's better for you since then you can cast him again lol
>>97061304styles that I enjoy playing to fuck with people:>red groupslug/burn like ojer axonil, purphoros (if I die, the game will be over next turn anyways because everyone is down to like 5 life)>speed aristocrats (stuff like rakdos gut+iron throne, you usually get to cast a finisher before anyone understands that they are dead)>power matters fling (I've had people complain to me on several occasions that they cannot do anything against fling and thought it was too OP)>big mono-black mana with 20+ interaction (usually makes me archenemy, but in a fun way)also, what the other anon said, zurgo helmsmasher. he's hilarious against creature decks.
>>97061285I hate that you may be right and not many would be into skeletons. Fuck the visuals of that are so good. Really visceral skeleton action. I know we don't really have this kind of art in this game but anything even approaching this kind of energy would be awesome. Let these bony fucks be creepy, scary, and fun.
>>97061188Skill issue
>>97061118>>97061133>>97061070>>97061148Azusa has been my gal for over 10 years. She is fair but strong.https://archidekt.com/decks/14384222/azusa_50_lands>>97061165This guy knows what's up. I wish I picked up a foil version, but it was very expensive back in the day.
>>97061314True, with how the graveyard is just a second hand noq. Any mill deck that is not infinite mill is just group hug.
>watch any video talking about Avatar commanders >pretty much every Avatar commander is considered garbage >"this commander will be removed if they get played so they are bad and you are dumb"So is everyone that plays this format just a giant joyless faggot?
>>97061314I like my Mothman deck because its a +1+1 proliferate deck disguised as mill
>>97060714How dumb would it be to run this guy as just a bunch of bouncelands and every halfway decent MDFC land for MAXIMUM utility?
>>97061477Isn't Katara obviously good for bant allies?"wah wah my 3/3 with no evasion will get removed" so play her again ya lil bitch
>>97061477Those videos have never been worth watching. That mindset has been in all of them for quite a while now.
>>97061477>Videos need to get clicksRational, well reasoned opinions get lost outside of well established creators, and even then they often have to lean into nonsense opinions that will get people talking and engaging even if it's completely idiotic or outside of the lanes, that is edhrec echochamber. So, yes, in short soulless joyless pricks. If it's not a 4, it's a bore.
What's the worst commander take you've seen in a video recently? I saw one recently where the hosts were saying REB/Pyro were bad.
>>97061540>What's the worst commander take you've seen in a video recently? I saw one recently where the hosts were saying REB/Pyro were bad.I had a minor melty when nitpicking nerds were rating black staples and I think they gave Dark Ritual either a B or a C and I started yelling at my screen about how retarded that take was.Dark Ritual is a busted card, its good at any level of play, who is out there rating it anything less than S tier suck my fucking dick
>>97061477I'm going to assume you watched a Maldhound video where he yaps with the deer faggot, so the answer is yes. From my experience commander players are the whiniest bunch of faggots around>every card is "kill on sight">you built a deck around a commander in the commander format?!
would it be weird if i showed up to commander night and ask if someone had a deck i could borrow
>>97061555It's only good in bracket 4 or cEDH decks. Otherwise it's just a one time boost that probably won't mean much in the overall game.
>>97061565At an LGS? MaybeAt the kitchen table with bros? You're fine
>>97061540I don't really watch much, so i guess I need to go with the idea people put forward about legendary's being watered down and how they should make a new classification of "elites" or some shit for legendaries that just aren't good enough for being commanders and only making CEDH possible characters as legendaries from now own.Which, is just dumb. People do infact like making janky 2a and 3s and like niche commanders to flex their creativity to, and though I agree they should tone down legendaries in general, not every last one needs to be a cedh banger, and nor should they be.
>>97061565I think its weird when people dont ask. I have 7 decks with me. If we are playing high power, I have a deck I can loan you. If we are playing low power, I have a deck I can loan you.
>>97061565I'd let you borrow one of my 13 or so at the LGS, sure. I'm going to watch you like a hawk though.
>>97061477some people are just in too deep and developed PTSD from playing weak commanders against strong commanders. but that's the game.
>>97061565Kind of. Unless you're with friends and you just ask one of them to borrow a deck. Asking to borrow the deck of someone you don't know is iffy. You'll probably find some people who would let you but you'll also just as likely to not let you borrow their decks.
>>97061574>how they should make a new classification of "elites" or some shit for legendaries that just aren't good enough for being commanders and only making CEDH possible characters as legendaries from now own. What would be accomplished by making all of those random pack filler legends not legends anymore?
>>97061597Nothing, other than making legendaries that by default, can't go into the command zone, but are legendary in function every other way.Its moronic.
>wanted to build Toph>all the builds I see are just basedfacing "IM A GENIUS" combo decks that rely on the artifacts being lands >have had a janky lady of otaria deck I made because I wanted a dwarf deck that wasn't magda>just gruul landfall/sac with dwarfs thrown in >use that as basis and just make a landfall deck but with white >proxy toph to be Galleon Landfall might be gay but it makes my neurons go off
>>97061574>the idea people put forward about legendary's being watered down and how they should make a new classification of "elites" or some shit for legendaries that just aren't good enough for being commanders and only making CEDH possible characters as legendaries from now own. That may be one of the worst fucking ideas I've ever heard. That is just so fucking stupid.
>>97061610>proxy toph>fuck up the typing
>>97061568I disagree. If you are running whatever pre-con and you are able to play a Ritual to ramp into your commander on like T2, you are probably winning the game at that moment.
>>97061477>"this commander will be removed if they get played so they are bad and you are dumb"That could be said for literally any card you try to play, not exclusively commanders. At the end of the day, this is a TCG and luck is going to play a role no matter how optimized something is. Every game is just hoping that you're opponents don't draw into their removal/counters before you can make a play. The other night I won with my Edgar deck which is the most blunt "cast creature, creatures swing" deck imaginable but no one had any removal or counters to stop me and I I was able to cast Akromas.
>>97061625>noooo the sanctity of my slop
>>97061625What did I fuck up?

So in case of Nyxbloom Ancient if you have two, you apply one of them to replace the mana you get with 3 and then the second one that to replacement to make it 9.It depends on the card though. Mirari's Wake is an actual trigger that gives you an additional mana. So that only increases it by 1 and Nyxbloom doesn't triple it.

>>97062512>abdel doesn't have any abilities after his ETBHalf-correct, and irrelevant. His triggered ability has a built-in duration that ends when he leaves the battlefield (also note - referencing the card name in the effect means "this game object." Changing the name doesn't matter). Phasing him out will do what you expect, though. It's the reason why removing a Banisher Priest in response to it entering results in a different outcome than removing a Fiend Hunter when it enters, because the latter does have its return tied to a separate effect that can be manipulated.

Otherwise you'd just buy a Grand Abolisher or a Imperial Recruiter since those two were the only thing worth a damn in the whole bunch
>>97064647>bringing a shit card solely for idpol shitclearly a massive one.
>>97063811My favored tribes are Shapeshifters, Oozes, and Goyfs.

>>97064642Honestly I just genuinely don't see the demand if we're not getting high value cards or if we're not getting mechanically unique cards, and based on the fact that most of the recent ones are still alive in the shop, people seem to share that opinion. The only Avatar secret layer that actually sold out day of was the cabbage seller meme
>>97064487First time they've done this isn't it? I don't imagine Capcom would give a shit what the cards do but then if not that what the hell happened to really make them reconsider the cars selection?
>>97064655Then maybe you're the one to call them out on their lies
>>97064561I'm still mad that Sonic doesn't give Unstoppable
>>97064673The issue with this argument is it assumes 0 changes have been made since the very first limited demand secret lair. Zero precautions have been taken to ensure fast sell outs aren't as common of uniques etc. This is objectively false and there for the entire argument doesn't work.
>>97064638Those are shaping up to be impressively bad too. But I think general Avatar hype and it's set being more sought after will be enough to carry some of that.
>>97064638The only lairs that sell out fast are ones filled with expensive ass cards like demonic tutor.

>>97064638thats why they have a bundle of the tutors and free commander spells, to guarantee they will sell

Go ahead.
>>97064707Seems you answered the question.
>>97064682Sorry but I have no idea what you're talking about and what that has to do or mechanically unique cards
>>97064706NTA, but I could see the argument if the art was decent enough to warrant the price increase, the value card was already expensive enough that you would be paying close to the base price of the card anyway, and the other cards were something that someone could see running in a deck.Just for examples, I think the Generous Gift in the Sonic drops is a hilarious an mechanically-cohesive reference to something I'm a fan of. I wouldn't mind picking up another copy of it for that alone, but I'm not going out to pay $35 for an uncommon when none of the other cards interest me.On the other hand, I bought the Rebecca Guay drop because I wanted to use the Stoneforge and Thoracle, two cards I own already but can easily see myself putting into other future decks I might want to build, and now don't need to go out and find.
>print arena version of spiderman card because I don't wanna look at him and go play>opponent: oh you brought alternative art proxies? then it's fine if I do so as well?>s-sure>they bring out a deck with card arts switched like sigarda's aid with serra angel>not only that, everything looks the same, all the fliers have art from angel tokens or some shit>can't tell the cards apart anymore across the tableis that really how my arena alt arts look like?

So this effectively gives all equipment Living Weapon, which is something i always wanted in a commander. But now that i have it, i'm not sure what to do with it. Most equipment result in you having a bunch of 2/2s on board. I guess you just add a bunch of token synergies and go for a big alpha strike?
>>97064874gosh, I can't wait to get some wholly new cards in the secret lair
>>97064755>>they bring out a deck with card arts switched like sigarda's aid with serra angelNo. Draw the line here.>>B-b-but switching the art!You look like a sperg with a Danny Phantom custom deck, but "I'm used to the Arena version" is at least an explanation, and functionally you're using art from a mechanically-identical gamepiece. Someone using established MtG art for other cards is sending mixed signals and has no excuse. This post seems like bait because of the sheer amount of Poe's Law that begs.
>>97064891Ally synergies too
>>97064891The floor is to just run the good equipment like the swords cycle and just be an aggro deck

>>97064874Yeah that's the part I wasn't so sure about. Wizard's can release absolute ass and wouldn't think twice about it. Someone had to have put pressure on them and it has to be real pressure not just people on social media. Capcom putting their foot down and demanding Wizard's do something to fix the bad public reaction would do it. I just didn't think Capcom would have cared.
>>97064929You know i usually don't proxy decks mostly because i don't make that many decks to begin with so i'm fine with buying cards, but the swords are so fucking expensive that i might just proxy this one
>>97063330Yes. The deck pumps out wins and threats before anything needs to be removed. It's pure offensive except for a few cards to remove things so you can win.

The more I play and the more I obsessively refine lists, I find myself highly rating 1-cost spells that also do a thing. Lightstall Inquisitor. Soul Warden. Quest for Pure Flame. Efficiency really is the name of the game and if you spend your T1 play to drop a lite stax piece onto the table, you are winning the game. 1-drops are easier to fit into plays that use up 100% of your available mana on subsequent turns. They can enable things which trigger buty only once per turn (if you play at flash speed). Playing a card often is enough to get a trigger.I know Im preaching to the choir here to a certain extent, but 1-drops and 2-drops are so much more playable than any other mana cost.

ok lads please read my funny story about "deck building" Im not new to magic. I have been playing since a long long time but I just returned 2 months ago. When I stopped, edh was big but nowhere as popular as it is today.few weeks ago I looked into what commander to build and I love vampires. I checked out clavileno on edhrec and built a deck with cards I liked from the recommended lists.so today the cards I had ordered arrived and I go through all of them. I realized almost all of the cards I have ordered are from the same set. Lost Caverns of Ixalan. okay lol that seems strange. I do some diggin and realize that Clavileno was a precon commander and now my deck consists of roughly 80% of the cards from the precon deck.of course I also play some cards like charismatic conquerer and bloodthirsty conquerer that were not included in the precon, but besides that I feel a bit bad.thanks for reading
Next visit to eldraine I want a cycle of knights with protection to their enemy pairs
>>97065619ixalan was a really pushed set
I want to try paperEDH. Do you guys think this would be a good commander?
>>97065619This happened to me a noob with Hakbal. I loved merfolk and all the lists said he was numero uno
>>97064534>halfCan you count? Luckily there is exactly ONE card in magic with the name Eloise so its fine!
>>97065627as in its really strong?>>97065665did you change some cards later on?
>>97065171First version looked much much better. Don't let retards with terrible taste sway you anon.

>>97065529>>97065691Anon, do you know how poor ghetto youth will waste money on triple-digit sneakers? This is the nerd version of that. Poorfags like to overcompensate their decks because they have no other real status symbols.
>>97065626Why would you ever want to go back to eldraine for anything? All the knights will look lame as fuck and they will have zero cool helmets.
>>97065691the subject was about using proxies vs real cardsyou are the dipshit that made it about being poor or not and clearly you can be poor and use expensive cards. >>97065626I don't think we'd get art this cool again but I wouldn't mind another cycle of knights.
dumb question - if i earthbend equipment with toph does it gain it's own ability or do i still have to equip it giving me effectively shittier bestow?
All commanders should be Kill on sight
>>97061477Like most things it depends entirely on your play group. In the usual people I run into at locals people usually either go light on removal or try to focus combo pieces rather than the commander itself.
>>97065991If an equipment says "equipped creature" it only applies to a creature it is attached to
I want this in my command zone.
>>97065991Unfortunately it isn't like reconfigure. You pretty much need to think of it as "is the earthbended equipment equipped with itself?" since most equipment started they give effects when equiped.
>>97066002ok, wanted to make sure
>>97066005play pauper commander
Attractions, do you want them all on the same numbers or spread out?
>>97066045I prefer same numbers. Their effects are generally minor and it is when many go off at once that they become a problem
>>97066005I think Ghave may be your closest equivalent.
>>97066045Some different numbers means that something is basically guaranteed to go off every turn as opposed to putting it all on red
>>97066005Rule 0 I would play with you
>>97066081It also means people can safely ignore you because you never can get a critical mass of effects. Just getting a "scry 1" or "put a +1 counter on thing" each turn. Safely ignored.

>>97066109Post list
>>97066137i cant i dont have it listed. its basically bracket 2 but power of a bracket 3.

>>97066093This thing is neat. Tapping and growth on such a cheap cost is useful.
>>97066151No, you can tap her to make her not die to bolt
>>97066145>bracket 2 but power of a bracket 3.then one would reckon it's a 3 despite not having game changers
>>97066225Weird how that never works in reverse
>>97066093Kind of is. Most themes where youre equipping stuff wont have many weaker creatures, so realistically its 4 mana for a tap effect. In a more go wide equipment strategy it could definitely have some use but to get full usefulness out of it it requires your opponents to have creatures, stronger than your combat centric creatures.
>>97066234Yeah almost like you're not the smol bean and your deck doesn't actually need TOR.
>>97065991It does not, and on top of that cannot be equipped to anything (it disattaches itself on becoming a creature too).>301.5c An Equipment that’s also a creature can’t equip a creature unless that Equipment has reconfigure (see rule 702.151, “Reconfigure”). An Equipment that loses the subtype “Equipment” can’t equip a creature. An Equipment can’t equip itself. An Equipment that equips an illegal or nonexistent permanent becomes unattached from that permanent but remains on the battlefield. (This is a state-based action. See rule 704.) An Equipment can’t equip more than one creature. If a spell or ability would cause an Equipment to equip more than one creature, the Equipment’s controller chooses which creature it equips.
>>97066234technically it does but most people can't swallow that their "bracket 3" is shit despite having gamechangers and is closer to actually being bracket 2
>>97066248Not very logical>it is possible for your deck to be too strong for bracket 2 despite being in bracket 2 rules but it is not possible for your deck to be too weak for 3 despite having a cyclonic riftOne way streets are lame. Which is why brackets are lame.
Can a goreclaw threaten to kill the whole table by turn 6 regularly? Ofc not. Therefore B2 power level.
