>>97063886So Dark Sun?
>>97063886Haha, what if she was still alive when the frog ate her though?
>>97063898That's just getting old.
>>97063886>the frog familiar ate his cumLittle gay ngl
>>97063886Glen Cook's Black Company has all magic users as being on some spectrum of evil. The charlatan hedge mages are just dickheads and tricksters whereas the actual arch magi are evil incarnate, even before they were suborned into the service of the BBEG and his whore wife.
>>97063886That would be Barbarians of Lemuria.
>>97063886>if
>>97063886Thats almost the case irlMost magic is evil cause its self serving
>>97063886Just call them “wizard bitches” or something. Maybe shorten it to “witches.”
>>97063886They are. >>97064029Then that means he was fucking a retard-zombie without a brain. tdr0dk
>>97063886Even the implications behind magic are largely evil. Seriously. Really think about it. Something has to go out of its way to entertain that.
>>97063886>Imagine every X is Y, no exceptions!Boring and shit-tier world-building
>>97063886They are.
All IRL occultists are freaks, even if some are not actively malicious.
>>97064589>the BBEG and his whore wifeITT pretending youve actually read the black company books, without even having read the first book. The Lady is one of the heroes of the series. sheesh.
>>97063886>Imagine if all magic-users were universally evil and wicked peopleYou mean exactly the way they are in old school D&D? Seriously, old school magic users were secretive insular horrible people.
>>97072355"magic user" cathegory also involves Clerics and Bards, and they're not necessarily as awful as the wizards.
>>97065740>wizard + bitch = witchkek how did i not see it before
>>97072375No one is as awful as clerics. No one. Fucking NO ONE is as awful as clerics. They do the most fucked up heinous shit, they just don't use magic for all of it all the time.
>>97072375>>"magic user" cathegory also involves Clerics and BardsGo grab a copy of D&D or AD&D. The original classes were Fighter, Thief, Magic user, cleric, Druid, Ranger, paladin, Assassin, and Bard was a special class that required you too start as a fighter then dual class to thief, then bard. Magic user was specifically a class.
>>97073649A magic user is a magic user, you bitch. I don’t care if you’re a traditional magician or a cleric or a druid. It’s all magic. What even is a traditional magician to you?
>>97075317Dude, I'm sorry youre stupid, but "magic user" was the actual class name...clerics and druids were users of divine powers...sorry youre unable to differentiate. Do you have issues mustering the mental prowess to breathe regularly, anon?
>>97073649you are being pedantic over one specific iteration of a game's class system.
>>97064589She still runs an evil empire, trying to usurp her more evil ex husband and helping against not-Kali doesn't change that.
>>97063886This was my first D&D character but replace "Stacy" with "goblin."
>>97075317>A magic user is a magic user, you bitch.Incorrect...see attached image from 1st ed phb.
>>97075734Magic is magic. Sorry.

>>97075712>he thinks divine powers aren’t magicAh I didn’t realize I was conversing with an actual retard
>>97075755Dude....its in the iteral fucking rules, youre simply wrong. Stop inhaling so much copium, its okay to be wrong.
>>97075768So you don’t know what magic even is
>>97075768Sorry. If you use magic, of any kind, you are by definition a magic user.
>>97075758cool, now list every edition that doesn't have 'magic user' as a class.
>>97075761interesting how magic users (wizards) don't get healing spells likeclerics do, its almost like they arent the same thing.....Also its amazing how clerics pray for their spells and don't have to memorize them....again its almost like the original creators of the game (gary gygax) intnded arcane spells and clerical spells were not the same at all.
>>97075774Retarded posting detected. Jesus, anon, 'sperg harder. Its funny. But wow, maybe ty being factually accurate. The second you ignored the facts you lost.
bad faith shitposting, don't engage.
>>97063886LOL Sounds like a upcoming mad mage.
>>97063886>magic users>not evilpick one
>>97063886>Imagine if all magic-users were universally evil and wicked peopleIt's not a matter of 'If', it's a matter of 'when'. They either hole themselves underground in crypts or dungeons or above ground in castles or towers. Magic corrupts like that and those who benefit from them don't care if peasants have to deal with the crazed ones.
>>97063886That wizard acted in self defense though

>>97075783A spell is a spell. Cope more.
In Dee en Dee arcane magic is usually sourced to some external force, usually overseen by some god, like how divine magic is sourced to some god, and this makes the distinction ironic. Spells are also artificial and arbitrary as fuck, so there is no way in hell that they aren’t the creation of some higher power, even if it’s from beyond the fourth wall.
>>97089439In Greek times the ability to perform magic, or to be a magician or an oracle, etc, was from the gods, usually Apollo, so arcane magic WAS divine magic, and vice versa. The most wizardly tradition of western esotericism (the occult, the arcane, etc) that heavily influenced the scientific method - Hermeticism - was all about the petitioning of the divine and becoming closer to it. The most wizardly individuals in history were typically spiritual figures, like scholastic priests or monks (the word magic itself descends from an order of learned astrologer-priests who tended the sacred fires). Isaac Newton himself was an arcane theologian (who himself was heavily inspired by the Hermetica and the alchemical) more than he was a natural philosopher proper, and his interest in the natural sciences simply complimented his esoteric pursuits. He saw math as divine.Dungeons & Dragons hair splits and only serves to de-educate its players. Wizards and clerics were interchangeable. This is due to the learned (for their time) being religious figures, or inspired by religious beliefs, and the farther back you go into the depths of history the lines between magic and nature and religion becomes blurrier and blurrier. It was their science. Religion is itself a precursor to science in observation-theory. The ancients looked to the stars and saw them as the gods. That was their observation, that was their theory. Christian masses aren’t actually all that unique. It’s witchcraft, or high ceremonial magick, by any other name. They might use different words, or see it different in superficiality, but it’s the same essence. Even modern day science, to be sure, is at times indistinguishable from the tropes of wizards - “It’s not a matter of could, but should”
