The point of Craterhoof is to close out games, and it being hasted is one of the many reasons why it's the gold standard at that. If you have 5 1/1 creatures, Craterhoof already hits for 11, making 30 damage into 41. Moonshaker can make huge boards into wins, but Craterhoof can do that with even mediocre boards because it's in itself a menace.
