How lickable would your character be if you met them in person?
>>97075068I tend to make characters that are varying levels of nice and agreeable.Just don't get into a fight with any of them. The last character that I made that would be a fucking nightmare to be around was this belligerent overbearing warlock that would shoot "blank" (or so he said) spell blasts near people's feet to get them to shut up.He missed once and blew a guy's foot off.

>>97080065Well would you like to chill with him if you met him?
>>97080108Yes, before I euthanize him.
>>97075068Very likable. He is more or less elven Terry Borgard with a manner of speech is like Christopher Walken, that likes to box and seeking to become a famous worldwide boxer.
>>97080184Did you design him to be cool and likable?
>>97080238Yes. To lighten the mood of the party if need be. Normally I roll stoic characters. If I met my character, he would train me on boxing and help me get into shape.
He's a really good guy, he'll probably give me one of his motivational speeches and ask me if I need help with anything. But he's also a mountain of muscle, standing at about 7'3", wielding a huge axe bigger than me. I would definitely be terrified the first time I see him.
>>97080554It gives me hope that people still play wholesome good characters.
>>97075068She is a cunning, unsettling hyper-vigilant thief, a liar, and a murderer. In public, she projects the persona of a cynical, cold-bitch—rough, guarded, secretive, and street-tough. She is strangely disciplined and quick with a cutting remark or dark joke. She meets kindness with skepticism and generosity with suspicion, yet she cannot stop herself from performing kind acts in secret. She flinches from being touched, occupies space like she’s ready to flee, yet she will never do it, and is hard to get close to. She will initially hide her intelligence and knowledge. If bored, however, she might begin to troll you by "accidentally" correcting your ideas or plans with the air of a bored expert, only to cover it up with a dismissive, "Just sayin', what do I know?" Her compulsive rituals would be annoying to live with; she might, for example, polish a dagger for an hour when everyone else is trying to sleep, constantly checking locks, excessive cleaning. She remembers the small things. She'll notice you've run out of good arrows and leave a new set by your bedroll and deny she has done it.The biggest hurdle to her "likability" is her push-pull dynamic. Driven by self-loathing and guilt, she constantly tests people. She will be cruel, she will lie, and she will actively try to make you hate her, convinced that she doesn't deserve your kindness and that you'll abandon her eventually.

>>97075068likable to whom?
>>97082162It's pathetic how transparent you are.
>>97081333Her default isn't snarling; it's a closed-off, observant silence. She won't push-pull constantly. It's a test, and it's deployed strategically, often when she feels most vulnerable. After a moment of genuine connection or kindness, that's when she might say something cruel. It's not random aggression; it's a panicked, self-sabotaging defense mechanism.
>>97083470likable to whom?

Yes.Not lively or extroverted or always doing something "fun" or whatever. Not a party animal. Not a lush. Not rambunctious. Not sexy.
>>97081252Awful. You're full of yourself. You aren't such a fucking amazing super sophisticated author. You're a disruptive diva. You aren't writing a novel. You're supposed to be playing with other people in a roleplaying game. You're obnoxious, not talented. You're an asshole, not a secretly super awesome saint. You're stupid, not clever. You're conceited, not wise.Fucking awful Mary Sue bullshit. Awful.
>>97078996Last session our druid acted up so he punched him in the face and took off a quarter of his health with one hit. He spent the rest of the day sharpening his sword and waiting for the druid to dare show his face again so they could have a little chat about trying to steal from the armed mercenaries we are traveling with. He's pretty well adjusted.

>>97081252sounds like a character that would inhabit one of the 8-dimensional dark corners of a tavern where every edgelord hangs out
>>97089917He totally seems weeb, though. He's just aware that it's fucking gross, so he's trying to describe her without using terms like "tsundere" or whatever the term is, because he wants to be taken seriously. She's not just a trashy cliche, you guys! She's realistic! She's the perfect little girl and she just needs patience and understanding and she's gonna be mai waifu~!Gigantic oversized scythe weapon and lacy black dress with a tiny nazi hat cocked jauntily to the side...
>>97089935no he seems more like a warhammer "le nobledark" larper who thinks that teamwork is for losers and morality is a prison
>>97075068>LikeableI have this terrible fascination with making flawed and often a little bit insane characters. Like yes, my spooky edgelord styled after Kirei Kotomine may be somewhat nice or charismatic, until he starts doing blood sacrifices or very openly talking about killing someone within earshot. Not to say I'll commit on it, I have rules, but it's fun to plan about it.>LikeableOnly for the first week or so, until people see I made a rather veiled lunaticYes, I am a Yoko Taro fan
>>97089944If that were true, it wouldn't be a girl...
>>97089950its his waifu man idk what possesses you to think otherwise
>>97089948So likable at first? But like deeply disturbed underneath?
>>97089948>Yes, I am a Yoko Taro fanreads incredibly cringe, very reddit
>>97089957It's not grimdank enough to be warhammer. He's describing anime tropes too accurately.
>>97089966Likeable AND disturbed. Arguably, more disturbed than likeable. I always go for a character that's charming but you feel like they're obviously a bad influence on you, a charismatic psychopath I suppose.>>97089975Probably, I'm just a big fan of bohemian characters and there's no other writer willing to write flawed characters like Caim, Zero, 9S. Is it cringe and reddit? Yeah probably, I just enjoy more moral relativism than I do being a nice guy overall. I play some nice gents in my games but I have more fun with someone less upbeat. I'm not a murderhobo player though, if it's a small consolation
>>97089996>I just enjoy more moral relativism than I do being a nice guy overallFucking freak, literal opposite of me
>>97090006Different strokes for different folks anon, I would never bully someone for being a dude into playing nice goys or moralists. I'm just edgy

>>97080019>>97091056I'm American (forma de methaddicted comedor de cara) and I haven't talked with anyone over here that has ever spelled likeable as likable
>>97075068Fantasy characters are a bunch of murderers, thieves, and looters. So, not very like likable unless you are into that sort of thing.
>>97075068Current characters and system>Chesnu - DBUDecently friendly and likable, he's not the most social but is happy to help others. Does look down at people who rely on tech instead of magic though, increasingly convinced every scientist is a mad scientist>Araki - PFFriendly, particularly if you're the type who seems willing to spar with him, unless you're a member of the smoke tribe of course. Thinks human ears look weird though and would probably get obnoxious about that, to be fair, there's only one human on the continent to his knowledge>Flax - GodboundAsshole fae god of luck, fertility, and speed, not very likable unless you stroke his ego. That said, his very presence heavily twists luck towards himself and people he likes. On the other hand, like all fae he drains the life force of others who feel a certain way towards him, in his case, wanting to catch and/or eat him>Sorven - ExaltedNo, he's an asshole. Unless you stroke his ego, then he'll try to show off convince you the Yozi did nothing wrong between rants about how he'll show them all one day>Kichrio - LotFPDecently likable, knows he's a small, cute foxboi and plays into it. Will steal your wallet if he doesn't like you thoughPrevious Characters>Aer Featherwatcher - PFAlternates between stoned elf, profound elf, and perverted elf, I'd probably find each version annoying ngl>Aldren - PFGood boy, no filter but wants to be nice and help everybody, easily distracted by a pretty face though>Julia/n - GodboundDepends, unless he knows you he can be cold and standoff-ish, but that's more because he really doesn't like being the center of attention and has work to do>Lael - 5ESmelly NEET wizard elf, danger to herself and all around her, easily bullied though, intentionally unlikable >Dr. Jake Halley - Stars without NumberLikable in a professional sense>Alard - 3.5See Aldren, Aldren was just a clone of him with a sword
>>97075068I usually roll Charisma/Social focused characters, so probably quite likeable.
>>97090193He's a Brotherhood of Steel Scribe-turned-Knight. So... yes. On one hand he'd love to pick my brain about pre-war happenings and such as a first hand witness to 'history' but on the other he's in the process of trying to keep the Mojave from imploding further and has a very strict timetable, so it's hard to envision the circumstances where he wouldn't just pass the fuck out so he could start marching again the next day.
>>97091291Aldren sounds like Mr Peanutbutter from Bojack Horseman
Fuck off.
>>97091418Never seen Bojack, but from what I've gathered, close-ish, only openly gets frustrated by others and is willing to stab someone if he thinks they're irredeemable
>>97089944Partially correct. The character is meant to have Fearful attachment style, characterized by a strong desire for closeness mixed with a deep-seated fear of rejection, abandonment, or being hurt. This style often results from a childhood environment with inconsistent or traumatic caregiving, leading to a deep distrust of others. They tend to feel uncomfortable with emotional closeness.
