any of the games on steam worth it?
>>97075469Duel Links continues to be ruined by skills and Master Duel is unhinged, so maybe Legacy of the Duelist?I'd stick to Tag Force. Play 3, 4 and 5. You can duel anime characters, and sometimes fuck them. Blair Obelisk route in Tag Force 3 changes a man. Also you can disable the banlist and create broken shit to torture the AI with. AI is bizarre, sometimes fumbling through basic combos but sometimes pulling some 4D chess
>>97076163Why not TF6 as well?
>>97076163>I'd stick to Tag Force. Play 3, 4 and 5. You can duel anime characters>and sometimes fuck them.nigga I want to play cards
>>97076168I forgot lmao. Thats the one without an official translation I think?
>>97076172Correct, it had a meme TL for a while that I believe got fixed at some point. There's also TFSP if you want a larger card pool and more opponents to duel against
how to learn maliss combos?
>>97076168because there’s an unofficial translation where characters will randomly drop “fuck” “shit” or “faggot” in their dialogue
>>97075469There's only effectively 4 games on Steam.>Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links>Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel>Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist>Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days CollectionDuel Links is pretty pricey to get into due to how its box system works and just how long its been around so I generally don't reccommend it, but it is also the only real way to be able to the play the Rush Duels spinoff.Master Duel is Free to Play friendly enough if you know what you're doing that you can get by without spending any money if you do your dailies and events, and don't want to buy every single meta deck out there. Things have been getting a bit worse in terms of UR creep, but it is still possible to get a meta deck every other format once you got the staples down. Gameplay can be hit or miss because of how much they leave free, though (they banned Appollossa only last month after she was banned in the TCG and OCG for quite awhile, for instance)Legacy of the Duelist is on steam in its original form, but should only be bought in the Link Evolution form, as that includes all the DLC the original had while being cheaper. It's card pool is locked back around 2020 under Master Rule 4 still from what I am aware, but it does give you a wide variety of NPC duel options as you are playing through the duels of every single Master Rule anime.Early Days Collection is just a bunch of Gameboy and Gameboy Advance games. Even if you want to mess around with Sacred Cards or Dungeon Dice Monsters for nostalgia's sake, only buy it if its on sale. The standard price is just way too high for what you get.
>>97076778Ok im way out the loop. I just want something casual. I know nothing about the meta and what certain rules are like. Honestly I've got the itch for yugioh recently and in my life I only watched the original cartoon. So even if its against an AI, I'd be good with that
>>97076804Link Evolution would probably be your best bet, then. It's on sale for like $10 at the moment. You don't have all cards unlocked from the start in it, but the packs are earned in-game rather than dealing with the microtransaction balancing of something like Master Duel from what I am aware.
>>97077221is it like old school yugioh where it actually takes time to get trough the game or the new shit where its basically fishing for OTKs?
>>97076538first, you have to cut off your own dick
>>97077234Solidly new shit
>>97077234It has story mode where you follow the different anime storylines with (mostly) canon decks, but it does have all the cards up to its release so as soon as you switch to freeplay or custom build its immediately the latter
>>97077234If you want "old school yugioh videogames" then all you need to do is google shit and see what's been re-released, or what to emulate from those times. You don't need people spoonfeeding you this information.
>>97075469Early days is just a bunch of gameboy ROMs, which have been dumped and can thus be played on a standalone emulator.Link evolution is a shitty duel sim, play any of the tag force games instead.Master duel is an odd mix of OCG and TCG, it's alright if you want to experience the "real" game without spending a dime on shiny cardboard and having to tolerate smelly, obese manchildren, but the Bo1 format lends itself to certain decks buckbreaking the metagame despite being technically balanced/fair in the paper formats, simply because you can't side in all its silver bullets. If you want a good example of this, there's maliss, it was released a few months back completely unhit and konami still felt the need to give it 2 gold sarc (limited everywhere) plus decoder and apollousa legal (both banned in TCG, OCG only banned apollousa), and it completely raped the game. It went from 25k-30k players daily to 18k, and they didn't address the deck until 2 months later... in the very same patch it got the ignister cards that let the deck completely play around any handtrap, even lancea (which was a turnskip for it). Maliss reigned for another two months, until it finally got hit for real, but it still continued to dominate because dormouse to 1 didn't do shit, you still had 2 copies instead of 4.They had to completely murder it last week because even though konami is about to introduce a new format, people would STILL be playing maliss in it because OCG already showed us it can compete with all of the new tier 1 decks.Duel links is just a shitshow, skills completely ruin the game's balance and there are things you cannot acquire with free currency. Master duel at the very least has the advantage of being pretty much THE most generous mobile game ever, you can build the current tier 1 deck in a completely new account simply by going through the tutorial, abusing the new pack SR trick and making it to gold 1 (10 story duels and 30-ish ranked duels).
How does missing timing work?>This card will miss the timing for many cards. Its effect would not activate if it is Tributed for a Tribute Summon, used as a Synchro Material for a Synchro Summon, or used as a Link Material for a Link Summon. https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Card_Tips:Poison_Draw_Frog
>>97079329Cards that state "when x happens, do y" have to resolve immediately, whereas cards that state "if x happens, do y" can resolve whenever. This is only a problem because chain links exist, but you can still somewhat avoid missing the timing by doing manual chain links. To give you an example, if you link off odd-eyes absolute dragon and bacha the melodious maestra for cross-sheep, several cards will trigger at the same time (bacha, absolute and concerto), but since absolute has "when" in its text, you have to put him in chain link 1 or 3 ie the first or last, otherwise it will not resolve.
>>97079329There are 3 applicable cases for "When-` as a prefix for a condition. First I'll include an obsolete case.>Mandatory "When"This are old PSCT and get errata'd to be "If-" effects when they get reprinted. These are cases like "When this card is sent to the GY: Draw 1 card" without a "you can" indicating that it's optional. Ignore these cases.>NormalThe final thing to occur in the previous chain needs to be the activation condition if it's a Spell Speed 1 effect, or it needs to be the most recent in the case of Spell Speed 2 effects.>When this card is sent to the GY: You can draw 1 cardFor this, the final thing to occur in the previous chain needs to be the monster being sent to the GY, or multiple monsters being sent to the GY simultaneously by the effects of something like Raigeki or Dark Hole (those destructions happen simultaneously, not sequentially). So for instance,>Destroy all monsters your opponent controlsMultiple copies of Peten the Dark Clown could activate in this case, as in spite of being "When-" effects, multiple copies of the card trigger at the same time (though of course, you'll only have 1 left in your hand/deck to summon)>Destroy all monsters your opponent controls, then draw 1 cardPeten the Dark Clown would miss timing in this case, as the final thing to occur is the card draw>Destroy all monsters your opponent controls, and if you do, draw 1 card>Destroy all monsters your opponent controls, also, draw 1 cardThese happen simultaneously, so Peten's effect would trigger. I don't think that most of the conjunction shit is intuitive in all honesty, but there's that. For Spell Speed 2 effects, just look at Ash Blossom. Though technically this is missing activation windows rather than timing.>When a card or effect is activated that [Ash Blossom Strongly Dislikes](Quick Effect): You can discard this card; negate that effect.
>>97079440And the two special cases>Summon Response Window>Attack DeclarationThese two follow the same general rules. Multiple effects can trigger in the same chain, as long as the last event to occur is a Summon or Attack Declaration respectively.>Summon Response Window>My opponent Fusion Summons Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon>I chain Void Trap Hole as it was the final event to occur>My opponent chains Dragoon's negate>I chain my second copy of Void Trap Hole>Dragoon's effects are negated, then he's destroyed>Attack Declaration>Kashtira Fenrir targets Witchcrafter Haine for an attack>On declaration, Fenrir activates his effect, targeting a face-up card on the field to banish face-down>In response to the same declaration, Witchcrafter Golem Aruru targets a card on the field or in my GY to return to the hand and summon itselfIn these cases, all valid effects can be activated.>Special Summon 1 monster from your hand, then, draw 1 cardYou miss the activation window for the Summon Response WindowAnd I... actually can't think of a case where you miss the attack declaration window! If someone else could help me out there, it'd be appreciated.
>>97079440>>97079461tl;dr>Spell Speed 1 "When" effects>Final thing to occur must be their activation condition>Multiple effects can trigger simultaneously, if they are met simultaneously>If an action occurs sequentially at the end of the chain (", then, "), you miss the window>Spell Speed 2 "When" effects>They are strictly done in response to something that occurs while the chain is being constructed, and easier to understand.
>>97079329Also, to address these concerns directly, >This card will miss the timing for many cardsI'm assuming that these are cases like if it's tributed for cost, in which case the last action to occur would just be whatever happens when the effect resolves. If it's sent to the GY on resolution of the effect, and again if it's the final thing to occur after the chain resolves, you meet its activation condition and activate the effect (draw 1 card)>Its effect would not activate if it is Tributed for a Tribute Summon, used as a Synchro Material for a Synchro Summon, or used as a Link Material for a Link Summon. In these cases, the last thing to occur is the summon of the monster. It doesn't happen simultaneously, for some reason. I personally think it's freaking stupid and only recently learned that this is a thing, since most decks these days don't exactly dabble with "When-" effects on monsters going to the GY.
It's funny how we went from no structure decks at all in 2024 to back to back to back good releases. I'm actually looking at release schedules for upcoming stuff and looking forward to buying stuff that isn't singles. The Blue Eyes deck was great, the Branded deck was great, the 5Ds decks are good, I'm looking forward to both the Charmer deck in January and the Mitsurugi/Sky Striker deck in March. They appeal to my particular kind of brainrot where I refuse to spend $10 on a single card but have no problem buying a $35 product for 3 cards as long as several dozens of other worthless garbage cards I'll never play are thrown in.
>>97080183>the 5Ds decks are goodThey really aren't. There's a reason they had to come with a set of charmies.
God damn what a fantastic ending.
>>97080230There's a reason I said great for the others and only good for those. It does clearly pander to someone that cares about the reprints more than the actual decks.I do feel like that's one of the issues most new YGO product has in general, they bloat the price and dilute the overall quality too much by including reprints of staples the veterans want but a new player really doesn't give a shit about having a suite of hand traps and other staples when they don't actually have a deck to put them in.The 5Ds decks MSRP at $32 and while a veteran might be fine with that price for the charmies alone that's a crazy price point for a brand new player when the actual decks aren't even complete. I like the charmers design wise but I'm also really curious what the reprints will be because the actual deck is pure ass and unless the reprints are crazy very few people will buy it. I personally think they'll give us dominus reprints with custom charmer art featuring the attributes they don't lock you out of on them. Purge and impulse are pretty much the only expensive staples left that could single-handedly move a $20 MSRP product.
>>97080230>>97080366This is just a thought, but maybe they included all of the charmies, all of the ghost girls, forbidden droplet, effect veiler, infinite impermanence, droll, called by, crossout, crimson dragon, and other staples into these simple-to-pilot decks so that new players have a good jumping on point, rather than pandering to people that just want reprints.
Dragoon is hilariously shit these days.
>>97080183I'm excited for the legendary decks too, but i'm also fearful because konami is never that generous. I fear the deck having every single card BUT the new ones, zero and lemnisgate. They aren't cheap enough for me to just buy them in advance ($25 and $10 respectively last time i checked), which is an issue not because i don't have the money, as i spend a lot more on random table 500 petdecks, but because they'll be worth less than $5 each if they do get reprinted. Mitsurugi is worthless to me because i won't be able to slap it in my ryzeal deck due to KotFI's ban, and x-saber is just lol, so i would be buying it solely for sky striker, and if it's not complete out of the box then there's no point in buying at all because the deck absolute does need the new cards.
>>97080390>Dragoon pass is hilariously shit these daysftfy
>>97080404wut
This card seems like it would combo well with the morganites, if you can manage to activate it.The whole being banned thing is an issue though.
>>97080387It's a good thing they made a product whose only value is reprints instead of pandering to people that only want reprints then.Wait...
>>97080390That's why they made a link 1 that cheats it out for free.
>>97080603Links are broken in general, but that's all the more reason Dragoon isn't that impressive.
>>97080505You are saying that an omni-negate towers that progressively gets stronger the longer it isn't dealt with is shit. It's only shit when it's the only thing on the board.
>>97080647The games are over in two turns. Lots of other boss monsters are similarly formidable in that amount of time and have much more accommodating ecosystems. Trying to rely on it is suicide which is why it isn't played anymore.
>>97080660That's nice, but you're overlooking the fact that any deck with Diabellstar can 1-card into Dragoon in addition to the rest of their board. So it's an omni-negate towers that progressively gets stronger the longer it isn't dealt with, that you can bring out for free as long as you're running another engine that can also fart out a free omni-negate.
>>97080532>This card seems like it would combo well with the morganites, if you can manage to activate it.The reason I say this is because you can have the morganite cards banish themselves after they enter the graveyard, and their buff applies permanently. So it's actually in your interest to activate then banish a bunch of the morganites and pseudo-restart the game. This is obviously a jank idea, but whatever.
>>97080532All you need to do in order to activate it is set it face-down and hope that your opponent's best option is crashing into it, which believe it or not is the case against face-down cards most of the time.
>>97080663>That's nice, butStop writing like a passive aggressive woman.
>>97080736Sorry, faggot. It's clear as day that you're too stupid to just look things up. Any deck that is capable of summoning a Level 7 DARK Spellcaster (Diabellstar) on the same turn that a Spell Card is activated (The thing that diabellstar lets you do immediately after she's summoned) gets a 1-card bridge into Dragoon. This may be a complex concept for you to understand, but that lets you splash Dragoon into any deck that's willing to run the Azamina/Sinful Spoils engine to set up Azamina's omni-negate, so that you can put up Dragoon after you get through setting up one or two other engines (if not more). Your ignorant view on Dragoon being shit is undoubtedly based on 2020 plays where you'd summon Dragoon off of REF and pass, and never figured out the myriad of other ways that people summon the card since Verte got banned. Any deck that can synchro summon Level 6s get Dragoon access. Any deck running Branded can get Dragoon access. Now any deck running Sinful Spoils gets Dragoon access. Next time you ask to get spoonfed you're getting a cock in your mouth instead.
>>97080781I'm not asking for anything. I'm saying you have a very effeminate style of writing.
>>97080801And I'm saying that you're out of the loop. You're saying that a boss that does everything that bosses needs to do, on its own, that you can bring out with one card for free, is shit. And that's only the case when you're so shit at the game that it's the only thing you're putting on your board.
I feel like this isn't meaningful DM support. I'm not sure what this is supposed to address, even. It's unwieldy for a searcher. Am I missing something? Kind of looks neat though.
>>97080933Its white forest support.
>>97080967Aren't they all?
>>97080984No? That deck has always been mid as fuck.
>>97081013I was being playful, but I meant DM support ending up used elsewhere in general. Diabellstar will probably get more use out of it too.
>>97080933You use it to search Gaze of Timaeus and summon Dragoon for free. Anything that wants to run Azamina to bring out a free omni gets free access to this as long as they don't get rid of Diabellstar.
>>97081057I'm aware (>>97081035), but for DM in particular that's not very fruitful. Gaze is moreso, but again the banishing isn't all that friendly to DM. I'm not sure anything could be, though. The entire DM system needs an overhaul. I find it more fun in concept than most decks but it's almost impossible to use.
>>97081086I'm sure Konami will make a DM Structure Deck when they feel like making easy money like they did with Blue-Eyes
>>97081086Diabellstar is literally a modern Dark Magician though. She's intentionally a level 7 dark spellcaster with 2500 attack. >>97081096Nah, they hate Atem's Japanese voice actor since him/his manager were super pissy with them in the past. They even replaced his voice in some of the games which is almost unheard of in Japan.
>>97081086The thing searches any card in their archetype, including Gaze and their new cracked-out handtrap, and can be brought out pretty easily a number of ways. Diabellstar is the most generic way to do it but you can also get it done with shining sarc dm/dmg or Apprentice Illusion Magician if you're sticking to oldschool setups. It does a lot, it just doesn't look like it since it's their super-ROTA.
>>97081122>Diabellstar is literally a modern Dark Magician thoughI refuse to acknowledge/play coombait. >>97081126>new cracked-out handtrapI'm not sure it's cracked out, but Amulet is nice and probably the most useful of the bunch. I forgot about it. Maybe we'll get lucky and it's just the start with more on the way.
>>97081161Wild that you think something as tame as that is coombait.
>>97081161>coombaitJohn Konami here, my utmost sincere apologies Out next female archetype will all be covered in burkas as a compensation
>>97080736>>97080801Fuck outta here, tranny, go "crack some eggs" in r_ddit or whatever.
>>97081173She has massive tits spilling out. Call it what you want, but the alt art definitely approaches waifushit. The other cards are mostly stock too-busy edge. Either way I'm not a fan.>>97081182You should spend more effort trying to create a game that doesn't suck inordinate amounts of ass, Konami-san. I can tolerate generic anime girls if the game is better.
>>97081254Why are you even playing this game if you're that allergic to anime women? Seems like Magic is much more your speed.
>>97080682>All you need to do in order to activate it is set it face-down and hope that your opponent's best option is crashing into it, which believe it or not is the case against face-down cards most of the time.Does that mean it would actually be good together in practice?
>>97081272Believe it or not I used to prefer how YGO looked. The aesthetics of the game have undeniably changed over time though (then again so has Magic's). I don't mind all of it, but my point is Diabellstar is a piss poor replacement for one of the most iconic monsters in the game and manga if that was indeed their intention. I doubt it was, though. I'm sure we'll see more Dark Magician sooner or later, even if it isn't very good.
>>97081173Made somewhat stranger by the fact that we're currently also talking about DM, the archetype that has the most iconic sex symbol monster in the entire franchise.
>>97081285My absolute fucking sides. Don't look at maiden of the aqua or mystical sand, you might explode into rainbow dust. And diabellstar isn't a replacement for dork magician, she doesn't even have the right statline ie 2500/2100. I don't think any ace monster has it actually, they all went for 2500/2000 for some reason.
>>97081353I think it had something to do with Kaz autism. There are only 3 level 7 monsters with 2500/2100 that don't mention Dark Magician somewhere on the card in the entire game. High Priestess of Prophecy, Genex Ally Triforce, and Kashtira Unicorn.
>>97081353>they all went for 2500/2000 for some reasonI'd imagine it's mainly because it looks nicer due to both stats being flat multiples of 500, but it does have the fringe benefit of making Dark Magician more unique amongst the protag aces.
>>97081353>And diabellstar isn't a replacement for dork magicianI'm not the one that suggested she was. I'm saying she would be a shitty one were that the case.
>>97081353>>97081375I don't know how long it lasted, but there was definitely a rule at one point that DM and BE had to have the best stats of level 7 and 8 vanillas. Its why you got weird shit like 2950 attack on level 8s or Neos being 2500/2000.
>>97081393>DM and BE had to have the best stats of level 7 and 8 vanillasOf course. They wouldn't be the ultimate wizard and virtually invincible, respectively, otherwise.
>>97081292what the fuck that's literally me, and yes i do lift both legs when i ejaculate to dark magician girl
>>97081413It might be the only exercise you get but I'm still proud of you, coomer-kun.
>>97081353>>97081375Her upgraded form is 2500/2100

Which is worse this or Radiant Mirror Force?
>>97081516
>>97081516Dark is worse.
>>97081516What's the issue?
>>97081516100% DarkHonestly, by far the worst of all elemental mirror force cards
>>97081560>What's the issue?it only affects defense position monsters
From a flavor perspective, it feels a little strange that any attacking monster (even one with 0 attack) can trigger mirror force and destroy far larger monsters. It doesn't really seem like attack reflection when that happens.
I need clarifications on what you can do with a nibiru token. My locals has switched to decks that are full gas and die to droll, but they run a lot of countermeasures for it, so for now i'm gonna switch to nibiru. Can you use it for a tribute/ritual summon? Can you send it to GY to trigger an effect? Say my opponent is on ryzeal and summons node, can he send it to bring back a ryzeal name? This one i'm almost sure you can't, since it never touches the grave, it just disappears.I know you can banish it with something like s:p (but not fenrir, because tokens can't be face down), but what about banishing it to trigger an effect?I know it can be used for fusion and synchro summons, but not for xyz. Links are also fair game unless the card specifies non-tokens.
>>97081876Tokens can be used as tribute/material for any summoning method except xyz. They can't be sent anywhere or flipped, but can be destroyed/banish/returned to hand.
>>97081876They can't be sent somewhere for cost because they won't go there. But if they would get sent, that works. Sky Striker Multirole can send a token to make your spells un-respond-able because it's not a cost.
>>97081927Vitally important distinction this anon missed; They can be banished, but because they cannot exist in a face-down state, they cannot be banished face-down. This comes up when resolving the effect of Evenly Matched, because if your opponent controls exactly 1 Token while you control no other cards, they must banish everything except for the token. I guess it also comes up against like, Kashtira, but the Evenly interaction is the big kahuna here.
>>97081981What part of can't be flipped didn't you understand?
>>97082019*I* understand it perfectly. A person that's learning these rulings for the first time can, and often times *will*, assume that only applies while they're face-up on the field.Tokens only exist while they're on the field, but they can be "sent to the GY" by Zeus' effectTokens can only exist while they're on the field, but they can be "banished"Logic would dictate that while a Token can only exist while they're face-up on the field, they can still be banished face-downThis is not the case. It comes up *very* often with new players. It even comes up with experienced players that've never been hit by the Nibiru Token Evenly wombo combo.
>>97082019>>97082023And in case that isn't enough of a case for you to be verbose about these things, let's consider the following chain of events; Your opponent is playing a Crystal Beast deck. They activate the effect of an Ultimate Crystal Rainbow Dragon Overdrive that has not battled this turn, shuffling all cards on the field to the Deck and Special Summoning as many of your banished Crystal Beast monsters as possible. Considering the fact that cards are returned to the deck in a face-down position by default, what happens to a face-up Nibiru token with 12,000 ATK that you control when this effect resolves?
>>97081876Lol lmao people just did not read your post about what you do know. Covering the unanswered question.>do tokens trigger "if something is banished" effectsUsing Soul Absorption as a official OCG precident case. No.Likely irrelevant note: Your milage may vary since it's an OCG ruling but most TCG judges go by OCG at this point because the KoA can't be assed to make a rulings database.Source with source link [3]https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Card_Rulings:Soul_AbsorptionJust in case you ment to ask if you can banish them "for cost" rather than "to trigger". Yes you can. Banish for cost is similar to tribute for cost as that wording alone does not check to see the "destination". Precident cases being something like the Myutants that banish a card for cost and you can use tokens.
>>97082213I was just responding to the other guy, so I in fact did not read their post.
>>97082019Banishing face down wouldn't be flipping otherwise banished face down cards would need to be able to remember they were monsters to keep track of shit like how they were summoned.
>>97075332Are dragonmaids still a competent archetype? My store is selling a base for 25 bucks.
I think I might be getting tired of comboslop. I don't want to learn (or grind) another game though.

>>97083412Yeah the deck is competent at what it tries to do and it has relevant play patterns.

someone should really put a sleeve guide in the OP, i just wasted 20 burgers on konami sleeves and dragon shield outer sleeves, and the sleeves don't fucking fit in the outers lmao, now i have to either waste another 8 dollars on japanese size matte sleeves OR 12 on normal size clear matte sleeves>buy both poorfagi only have 1 deck, i don't need spares because i only go to locals on sunday, so they last me a good 3 years
Can't decide if I want to main a set of Ghost Belle or a set of Fulwalos. The set I don't main will go into the side.

>>97086691Sleevefag here. Which specific konami sleeves did you get? Stuff like the IP masq, MAMA, and other recent ones have all fit in DS outer clears. I'm curious as to which specific ones you're having a problem with
>>97087870https://www.yugioh-card.com/en/products/past_products/uxe_sleeves/i got those and a pack of custom diabellstar sleeves, they're pretty much exact copies of the official OCG ones, you can only tell they're fake because they're not $60+ lolexact same size, neither fit in DS outer sleeves
I want to get into the yugioh but the small font is a real deal breaker
>>97087927I could see those from 2010 having issues maybe because those felt like they fit closer to standard size sleeves but the diabell ones not fitting is a surprise. I guess waste some money For Science TM.And just to make sure, you're using the labeled outers from DS that have the invisible dragon with a kind of orange BG right?I considered starting a sleeves wiki/database but I can't afford that in both hosting (Im not hosting it on fandom, fuck that) and buying that many sleeves.
>>97087972You're in luck. Nobody reads their cards anyways.Use neuron or whatever wiki or whatever if they're too small.Or get one of picrel. I'm not kidding, they rock. Tell anyone who comments on it to fuck off that you're not hurting your eyes to play a game.https://www.amazon.com/OwnMy-Paperweight-Magnifying-Photography-Decoration/dp/B071PBT1XP/ref=sr_1_6?sr=8-6I remember my grandpa's being flatter than any of the ones I've seen, but they're still great. Just slap it on the card and it's no longer too small. You aren't usually reading the cards during gameplay.
>>97088005i hate how this site still doesn't let you post multiple imagesi bought the sleeves i linked in my other post, plus some unofficial diabellstar sleeves, both are the exact same sizethen i decided to double sleeve my deck, because it actually has a lot of high rarities (70% of the deck is ultra, the rest secret and prismatic secret) and i only ever play one deck at a time, so i asked the clerk to sell me some outer sleevesthis isn't the first time i try double sleeving btw, but the last time i tried i damaged my cards (i wanted inner + japanese size) so i didn't bother until todayhe sold me pic related, which was too small for my sleevessince i didn't sleeve my cards right away, a week went by before i noticed, and i doubt i would've been able to get a refund anyway, since i did "damage" the product by removing the shrink wrap
>>97089051i was told by another guy at locals that i needed pic related instead, but he's not 100% sure which one, he uses left (clear matte, the box on the right) with his dark magician girl sleeves and they fit his and my cards just fine, but this store only has the sleeves on the left for sale, and he has never seen those before
>>97089100he uses this*sorry
>>97089100I'd guess the left pack is outer sleeves for standard size (MTG/pokemon) outer sleeves. So they go over sleeved larger cards and would be much too large. I'm sorry that sleeve shopping is so hard.
>>97087972>I want to get into the yugiohYou probably don't honestly. I'm only still around out of unhinged nostalgia for it.
>>97087972If you want to play it but want to avoid the small font there's plenty of digital clients. Omega has font size settings, MD is pretty large by default, and EDO has it technically with UI scale settings.Beaides a reading aid like the other guy posted then you might have to stick to digital. At least Omega and EDO are free-free.

If a card has both a QCR and UTR, which is better to display?
>>97091178The one you like better.>I don't like the 25th anniversary imprint on QCRsDisplay the UTRs>The UTRs are too expensive for me! Also, I don't mind the 25th anniversary indent on QCRsDisplay the QCRs.
What are the different types of special summons? Idgi
>>97091203I like both! But I guess UTR wins by a hair because they're personalized. Thanks flowchart anon.
>>97091178Ultimate rares have a smoother finish across the card, while QCRs have more of a sparkle texture. The stamp on a QCR makes it more immediately clear what you have to less experienced collectors and makes it easier to know if you've been scammed if you don't already own one, while Ultimates take a bit more of an experienced collector to know the particular distinctive style of the foiling and if you are buying one it can be a bit easier to be scammed if you aren't careful when getting one.
>>97090228Trust me, many wish they used more of the card to give us more art and more text space to get a larger font. Also we're on JP size cards. But we're kinda locked into it from the onset besides a front redesign. Many people have thrown their hat in the ring on how to go about it.
>>97091221There's generally two main categories with a few subcategories needed for specific cards. Inherent Special Summons and "Chain" Special SummonsAn Inherent Special Summon is one that doesn't start a chain because you are summoning the monster through inherent game mechanics. The standard method of summoning Link, XYZ, Synchro, and specifically the Contact Fusion method are considered Inherent summons, and the Main Deck cards that have a comma as part of their special summon clause, such as Cyber Dragon or the Level 3 Radiant Typhoon cards. These are the special summons you can chain Black Horn of Heaven to.A "Chain" Special Summon is an attempt is made to special summon from the effect of a card. Using a fusion spell card, trying to do a Pendulum Summon, the effect of a card like Stardust Road, or trying to special summon a Main Deck monster that has a colon as part of its special summon all start a chain. You cannot activate Black Horn of Heaven in response to these, because you did not do a summon but are merely making an attempt to summon. There is one rule related to these that matters for Extra Deck monsters. If you did not special summon an Extra Deck monster using its inherent summon means or a monster that specifies "must first be special summoned by", and the way you summoned it doesn't specify something like "This counts as an <X> summon", then after it is sent to the GY or Banishment, you cannot special summon them with Monster Reborn. For instance, if a Stardust Dragon summoned by Stardust Road is destroyed by battle, you cannot Monster Reborn it because Stardust Road's effect does not count as a synchro summon. However, a Stardust Dragon summoned by Crimson Dragon that is destroyed by battle can be revived because Crimson Dragon's effect specifies "(This is treated as a Synchro Summon)".
>>97091221>RitualBlue card frame. Usually uses a Ritual Spell (designated with a flame icon near where it says Spell Card). In most cases, you activate the spell, tribute monsters from your hand/field whose total levels meet or exceed the monster you're summoning, then summon the Ritual Monster from hand. Most Ritual archetypes either have more lax Ritual Spells or resources that replenish themselves to make up for this.>FusionPurple card frame. Uses card effects that say to Fusion Summon a monster, moving the material listed on the monster you're summoning from one place to another, depending on what the effect says. Polymerization is the original Fusion effect, which sends from hand/field to grave.>Contact FusionSame border as Fusion, also treated as Fusion. Rather than an external effect, these have a summoning condition listed on the card. Most are either part of the Elemental HERO Neos archetype or the Ritual Beast archetype.>SynchroWhite card border. Send (usually) 1 tuner and at least 1 non-tuner monster from (usually) your field to the grave, with levels totalling the level of the Synchro you want to summon. Some Synchros have extra restrictions on their materials. Synchros have more effects that the other types that allow them to summon on the opponent's turn - thanks to the anime, some people call this "Accel Synchro".>XyzBlack, starry card border. Have a "rank" instead of a level (things that mention level but not rank don't apply to them, and they generally can't be used for Ritual or Synchro Summons). Stack the listed number of monsters (sometimes with an extra condition) on top of each other, all with level matching the Xyz's rank, then put the Xyz on top. Most Xyz use the cards under them as a resource for effects.(1/2, Pendulums, Links, Trap Monsters, Inherent, and Effect in next post)
>>97091221>Summoning ConditionThese are non-activated conditions that you need to meet in order to summon them. The simplest example is Cyber Dragon, but Diabellstar is a more applicable example in the modern day.>If you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card.>Summons by Card EffectThese are summons by activated effects, such as the effects of most Tenyi monsters. These go on the chain and can be interrupted.>If you control no monsters: you can Special Summon this card.PSCT literacy makes it really easy to tell them apart.>(...) : you can Special Summon this cardThis is an activated effect>(...) , you can Special Summon this cardThis is a Summoning Condition.OCG cards are a lot more clear about this since summoning conditions aren't listed as numbered effects, while summons by card effect are.Every other type of Special Summon is just a variation of those two>Fusion: Summon by card effect>Ritual: Summon by card effect>Synchro/Xyz/Pendulum/Link: Summoning conditionThat's the reason why the last four types specify "Immediately after this effect resolves,". They are not summoning by card effect, but by performing the procedures that would normally summon them.
>>97091355>OCG cards are a lot more clear about this since summoning conditions aren't listed as numbered effects, while summons by card effect are.Mm, I'm actually wrong about that, though it specifies that they're summoning conditions directly on the cards when listing out their effect activation conditions.
>>97091347>PendulumTop half is any other color, bottom half is green. Pendulums can be placed in the left or rightmost S/T zone as a Spell (functionally Continuous, but not treated as such) with the effects in its smaller, second textbox applied as a Spell and the normal textbox as a Monster. If a Pendulum would be sent from the field to the grave for any reason, move it to the Extra Deck face-up instead. If you have a Pendulum Spell in each zone, once per turn you can Pendulum Summon. When you do, you can take any number of monsters from your hand and face-up Pendulum Monsters in your Extra Deck and Special Summon them, as long as their level is greater than your smaller Scale and less than your larger Scale. Scale is the tiny number on either side of the card. However, face-up Extra Deck Pendulums can only be summoned to the Extra Monster Zone or to Linked Zones.>LinkBlue with geometric patterning. Links have no level or rank, but a rating instead. They have no DEF, and cannot be changed out of face-up attack position. To summon a Link, send a number of material equal to the rating from your field to your grave, with criteria matching the material list. Links can be treated as a number of material equal to their rating, but every Link has a hard minimum to its number of material. Like face-up Pendulums, a Link can only be summoned to the Extra Monster Zone or Linked Zones. A Link Monster may have arrows pointing in any of 8 directions around them, with the number of arrows equalling the rating. Any zone a Link points to is Linked.(2/3, apologies for being too long-winded)
>>97075332>TQI was playing a casual duel against a returning Blue Eyes player, it wasn't a weekly tournament match or anything, just little game to get him up to speed on YGO since he hadn't played since like 2017.After a few turns, I go for an Accesscode for the kill and on summon my opponent flips Forbidden Droplets and I tell him he can't chain anything to Accesscode's effs and he immediately calls a judge.Long story short, it took about 5 minutes and 2 judges to explain to this guy that you can't respond to Accesscode because the card text says so.After the duel he showed me his binder full of Blue Eyes cards and on the very last few pages he had Naruto NSFW cards of Hinata, Sakura and Tsunade among others.
>>97091388>Trap MonstersAppear as ordinary Trap cards, usually continuous. One or more effects can summon the Trap as a monster, providing its statline in the text. A Trap Monster may have an effect that resolves as it's summoned, or a continuous effect applied to it, but be treated as a Normal Monster. Trap Monsters are treated as both monster and trap, and effected by anything that effects either. If a Trap Monster would be flipped face-down, it is moved to the backrow and set as a trap.>>97091355 explained inherent vs. effect really well.
>>97091221Here's an autistic diagram that might help. Shows what's considered a summons or not and what umbrellas it falls under.
>>97091355>>(...) , you can Special Summon this card>This is a Summoning Condition. This is a tad incomplete, Imsety, Glory of Horus is worded:>If you control "King's Sacrophagus", you can Special Summon this card (from your GY)But that is not a summoning condition, it's an unclassified effect that doesn't start a chain. This is relevant because that means it can't summon itself under Necrovalley. The distinction is that it's only a condition if the card cannot be normal summoned, if it can be normal summoned then it's an unclassified effect. For example Bystial Lubellion says:>Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand or GY) by Tributing 1 Level 6 or higher DARK Dragon monster. This is a condition and would be able to special summon itself from the GY under Necrovalley since Necrovalley only blocks effects. This is yet again much more clearly templated in the OCG because even in the TCG we colloquially call these "nomi monsters", "nomi" being the Japanese word for "only", which is present in regards to their summoning condition.
>>97091424Forgot to save after the fusion summon "art"
>>97091407I'm the guy that teaches people how to play the game with Virtual World. It's always what I open with whenever I teach people about the extra deck, since it helps them wrap their heads around things when they have a fundamental basis to work off of before looking at the variations on those fundamentals.Little tip if you want to make digesting information about how ED summoning mechanics work by the way; Don't teach them chronologically. Xyz -> Synchro, Link -> Pendulum. You can do Fusion/Ritual before or after those four.>Xyz MonstersStart by showing them where the listed materials are, and emphasize that the majority of Extra Deck monsters will list their material requirements there (there's a few outliers, but not many). Virtual World monsters can use 2+ monsters for their summons, thus you can summon them with any number of materials, as long as their summoning conditions are met. All that's left is demonstrating it by overlaying the monster on top of its materials, explaining the rulings for Xyz materials, and optionally performing a detach to demonstrate how that mechanic works.>SynchroYou already explained how summoning conditions work, so you get most of the heavy lifting out of the way. All you need to do for this is explain that you summon them by adding levels together, and show them what a Tuner is and how to identify them. >LinkYou explain these before Pendulum Summons because they're joined at the hip thanks to the Linked Zone restriction that Pends have. Need to go to the EMZ or a Linked Zone, minimum requirements must be met, links can be used as substitute for link summons, yadda yadda you get the idea.>PendsI will use the infographic I made for this specific purpose, because explaining how they visually read comes first and foremost. Then you go down the intricacies of the mechanics.Point is, explaining Xyz Monsters first is the easiest way to do it in my opinion.>>97091427Thanks for clearing that up

>>97091399If you didn't explain that he could droplet Accesscode at any other time you're a faggot.
>>97091399He can't flip droplet in response to accesscode's on summon effect but after the on summon effect resolves it's an open game state and he can use droplet, a spell speed 2 effect, before you can use his effect to destroy which is spell speed 1. It's the reason why you always have to toggle on in MD whenever accesscode hits the field. https://www.yugioh-card.com/en/play/fast-effect-timing/

>>97094798There's probably at least a dozen other Normal Traps that would be better against them while also not being useless against other decks
>>97094548It's not really an archetype in meaningful way. There's a loose "having cards in your hand" theme to it but that's to facilitate something like slifer and the poker knights more.
>>97094798>it's good against a single deck that nearly nobody plays besides as a generic synchro engine

>>97096522It's pretty cool and fun to use, and as a mangafag I like Shining Sarcophagus as a concept. It's not very viable anymore, though.
>>97096538Their existing cards, at least. The concept could still be viable. Modify conditions so that they can be triggered by the deck's player such as activating a certain number of spell cards, make level 5 or higher able to be normal summoned without tribute or have a special summon clause but their effects become stronger if you get to them through the leveling up a prior monster, have the ultimate forms in the ED rather than main so they don't become Garnets, etc.Alternatively, rather than bespoke cards for each level, do what the manga and the retrains of the Silent cards did and have the level up be an effect of the card. At different levels, they gain different effects like some mecha phantom beasts or can expend the levels like F.A.

>>97097771No. Its literally the same thing except handtraps are even stronger.
>>97097771Yes it does. You can't cram 5+ engines into one deck and handtraps are less common (albeit not rare) because you need to balance between your engine and non-engine. The game does not change much for people playing their shitdecks, but it changes substantially for people that just want to play the latest meta.
