The closest thing to an actual eyewitness account was that the pirate who recovered it had marched to the pirate king's fortress with the mech walking behind him, with seemingly nobody at the controls, but given that it was stated that before finding the mech he had salvaged some old SLDF drone control systems, and that somebody found a hidden compartment aboard his DropShip that had a dead guy and the drone control device, the implication is clear that he wired the mech with a remote control and then killed the operator to ensure he wouldn't reveal the truth. In all likelihood he never even found the legendary mech and just took a regular Marauder and painted it black to match the story.Some later sources seem to imply the stories have at least some truth to them, though, and there might really be a mech possessed with hyperspace-demons or something out there.
In general guys, where are you getting the mech sheets you print off for play? I'm new to the game and I see that MegaMekLab is one option. It doesn't seem to have every model I'm looking for. Then there's the record sheet PDFs, but it looks like those are only paid products? Is that how people are officially getting the sheets they need?

Prior to the invention of the OmniMech, the Clans made upgrades to the mechs they owned (Hunchback C, Clint C, Orion IIC, Marauder IIC, Warhammer IIC, etc.). Given they made the Commando C (which they could only have gotten from Lyran Commonwealth deserters who joined the Star League Defense Force during the Amaris Civil Wars), how come there's no Panther C nor Koschei C (I didn't bring up a hypothetical Dragon C because the Great Wyrm is basically a Dragon C)? Surely deserters from the Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery and the Capellan Confederation Armed Forces who joined the SLDF during the Amaris Civil War shoud have respectively brought Panthers and Koscheis with them, especially those who joined the Pro-Exodus faction?
