The trailer isn't what's in the show, they are recycled animations with the textures changed to fit the chapters that will appear in the animation.

It was explicitely laid down in the WarCom article, we don't even know if the show will be animated by the original guy. We don't know shit except it's about the DeathWatch.

I swear to god, the thing that disgusts me the most with people is not the ignorance, it's the comfort in that ignorance.

I used to ask myself when learning about history how could so many push entire armies to kill and die, but I'm starting to think they knew how annoying and impossibly pointless most of those people were.

I've been thinking about the Black Templars' recruitment.

Either their recruitment isn't as bad as they make it seem, or they're just lucky that all their recruits are top-notch.

I don't believe they can maintain their exaggerated numbers considering they send all their recruits to the front lines.

I have a bunch of captains so I like using a different one each campaign to represent different companies being deployed to different fronts. While my terminator captain Cassian Terenas was fighting the World Eaters in Armageddon, my regular captain with sword and pistol Norvaad Lok was fighting as part of Agemman's solblade fleet in the 4th Tyrannic War. If Ultramar is at stake Agemman would probably be recalled so my Suncrushers will probably follow him.

Hello everyone. This will probably be the last anchor post of the month. Last chance to submit your models and cast your vote.

This month's theme was model/unit that can fly. I will as always check the archive too but the best way to not be missed is to submit your entry in reply to the anchor posts.
Deadline is midnight sunday the 30th.

Here is the link to the december vote:
https://strawpoll.com/GPgVYwK2Ena

I read a suggestion earlier this month about the december collage and I'd appreciate your thoughts on it. He suggested that seasonal themes like halloween, christmas and such could be an optional bonus theme for their respective months. For example, let's say bikers/cavalry win. That would mean that you could either do a biker or something festive(or a festive biker). What do you think?
>>
>>97089451
Keep posting this, it's important.
>>

>special insider knowledge
- It was a WarCom article. You not only had but still have access to this knowledge.
- The old Astartes 2 trailer featured different chapters.

This is like there was cat in front of you, but it was behind a pillar, with only the cat's head and butt directly visible, and you're puzzled and offended when I suggest the cat isn't actually cut in half and the head and butt are in fact connected through a "body" that's behind the pillar.

>They showed parts that were never shown before so how do you know they were made 5 years ago?
Yes, because it is completely impossible for Pedersen to have made more animation than besides the 17 second long teaser animation 5 years ago.
The guy doesn't work for GW and hasn't for years at this point, we know based on that alone it's old shit GW just reused.
>>
>>97089610
I think we're at less than 20. Not that strange since the americans have been busy with festivities. It's totally fine though, not every month has to be huge.
>>
>>97089621
I never understood the problem with food allegories and I interpret the issue as deflection, decrying the form to derail a discussion and discredit the other person.
I'd be pretty ashamed and feel very pathetic if the moment someone tried to explain something in simple terms I'd complain that it's not "smart" enough.

I know, but gene-seed is limited, and a Space Marine can only produce two gene-seeds: one when they mature and the second when they die (if their body is recovered).

And normally, out of 200 recruits, maybe only one will become a full-fledged Space Marine, which is usually a waste of gene-seed.
>>
>>97089648
Allegories are kinda useless and usually people use them badly and make up very weird shit.
>>
>>97089650
>gene-seed is limited
I've assumed since I was a wee lad that geneseed multiplied inside a marine: you implant a marine and after it matures you get two.

I don't know where I got that from but I like it enough that it stuck.
>>
>>97089656
Maybe, in my experience I found that people can't understand allegories.

Proof? Because he shows up in the credits for Secret Level and the WarCom article still claims he's making it.
"The Warhammer Studio and the creator of the original Astartes animation, Syama, have been working closely together, blending his incredible flair for action and storytelling with decades of Warhammer 40,000 lore to unleash a compellingly grimdark story."
So I think you're just talking out of your ass because there's zero evidence the stuff from the teaser isn't part of the new show.
>>
>>97089679
>there's zero evidence the stuff from the teaser isn't part of the new show.
Or more specifically, there's no reason to think the stuff from the teaser is just reused shit and the show will look completely different and be made by different people because we know the actual clips aren't from the second part.

Secret levels is entirely different project entirely and even then we do not know the extent of involvement with that.
>and the WarCom article still claims he's making it.
All this warcom article says is
>"The Warhammer Studio and the creator of the original Astartes animation, Syama, have been working closely together
This does not at all say how long he has actually worked on it or when.
It just says "our studio team and Syama have worked together", it can mean
>"he has worked closely with us for years"
or
>"he only worked closely with us for only 2 months and then fucked off"
and anything in between.

Again this is vague as FUCK statement which ultimately means nothing. And you're a complete retard for believing that GW wouldn't use typical marketing corpospeak to mislead you.

What which gene-seed lore says? The progenoid gland containes the "gene-seeds" to make the implant organs (including at least two progenoids, since you need that implanted as well). We're never explicitly told its 1:1, and frankly I don't see how certain chapters could grow as quickly as they do if it was. Another potential loop-hole/gap between the lines is that I don't see any reason why you couldn't re-implant an extra progenoid grown from gene seed back into a full marine.

But yes, the gland is definitely removed, and the wording doesn't imply that that marine grows a new gland. It's all intentionally left super vague, though, so you can take it however you want.

I doubt the Stompa moves much product wise since its rules always kind of sucked and the model was not everyone’s cup of tea looks wise.

Since orks got weirdly stiffed for a major faction in terms of releases this edition with like two kits total I could see a redone Stompa with more useable rules as a sort of appeasement gift to ork players.

frankly i really REALLY fucking hate the leagues vehicle gameplay design for their transports and what it has done to their infantry designs as a result.

ultra small transport capacities, splitting units into half units, despite their points dropping in half the hearthkyn warriors lost their 20 man max unit size from 9th and are now capped at 10, making them wildly inefficient as anything other than disposable chaff task monkeys which is 100% the opposite of what they are in the lore, any kahl who heard GW wanted to treat even a single member of their society as disposable would walk their stubby legs into nottingham and put a bullet in someones head. every kin is precious and deserves the utmost respect

fucking hell whoever is making the decisions behind the armies design post-9th needs the army taken away from them. they fundamentally dont understand what the army is meant to be

they wouldnt. the sagitaur already had scout and served the same function as the new vehicle, they could have just as easily allowed the sagitaur to split yaegirs as well as hearthkyn and retain its scout rule and the new vehicle would have been entirely unneeded. but they wanted to sell you a model, so instead of creating something the army needed, they created something the army already had, stripped scout off of the sagitaur, made the sagitaur worse in several other ways, and made the new transport cheaper so you buy the new transport that only exists because of GWs all consuming greed

We already know Russ is coming back. Titus is Part 1, which will be him fighting Necrons.
Part 2 will be Huron, who's coming with a handful of new CSM minis and eill be conducting 'secret activities' as Titus chases him.
Part 3 will be Lorgar, who Huron summons at Calth right as Titus manages to catch up with him. Lorgar will give Huron some vague payment which leads to the Red Corsairs fucking off to be pirates elsewhere. Lorgar will then smack Titus around a bit before the Loyalists retreat.
Part 4 is Badrukk, which is filler to have Freebooterz vs Red Corsairs for shits and giggles.
Part 5 is Russ, who will be summoned to Calth when Lorgar tries to perform a big ritual that the Ultramarines interfere with in a big last-ditch offensive. Russ will save Titus then beat Lorgar and banish him back to the Warp, with the Wolves arriving mid-battle having heard their Primarch's call.
There will be an epilogue blurb with Lorgar being bitter over his loss and making a mysterious deal with Vashtorr.

My iron warriors/chaos knights are last hold outs of the old empire of iron and autistic fundamentalist who think the heresy was lost because of an over reliance on chaos. Having turned a forge world on the far fringes of Ultima into a fortress world they have the resources to hold it, but not meaningfully take new territory. its symbolic of corporate greed

then you have fags acting like legends is okay, despite the fact that "legends" was advertised as a place they put models that they don't sell anymore, only to rip half the older range and put it in it, and despite the fact that they make new plastic versions of those same units, keep them in legends

Either you take a fuck ton of mortal jobbers and some weapons teams and call that R&H or you supplement having zero access to imperial armor by using CSM vehicles which feels really fucking weird if you don’t also include chaos marines.

Legitimately a detachment ripping off the genestealers final day that just lets you shoehorn in some IG tanks would fix the issue.

Squad with smaller shittier launchers with rules that make them better closer.
Small squad with mines they slap onto vehicles
Molotov equivalent weapoms they throw at vehicles that don’t actually do much damage, but fuck with BS and leadership.

Granted I don’t think guard is particularly hurting in AT capacity, but we also have marines being able to field like 5+ options for most battlefield roles so fuck it I guess.

I don't at all see how CSM is integral to the setting. Chaos, sure, but renegade marines and the leftovers from the heresy are just another enemy from within and barbarian at the border respectively. The Black Crusades were footnotes, and the 13th was supposed to be an eternally hanging threat for people to mess with.

I think the only people who'd inflate Chaos Space Marines' importance are people who read too much BL. I have enough narrative meat to play 40k for about 50 years without ever touching CSM.

NTA, but I can definitely see an argument to why CSM are integral, but that requires a broad stroke look at the lore instead of the day to day.
When the narrative moves it’s usually the traitor legions doing something the imperium responds to.
Realistically it would probably be centuries between the legions or warbands do anything meaningful, but when they do it is apocalyptic. Like 90% of what chaos is doing at any given time would be cults, rebellions, and small raiding bands of CSM nobody has ever heard of.
The black legion, night lords, iron warriors, death guard, world eaters, emperors children, world eaters, thousand sons, and alpha legion shouldn’t be such a common threat they are regular players unless you go charging into their turf.

Being chaos undivided probably helps a lot.
Pleading yourself to chaos is already probably not a great idea, but it’s better to skirt the line of the big four and whatever other minion deities you venerate then it is to declare for one and become natural enemies of the other three while also dealing with the repercussions of serving one specifically. I would also assume the majority of aspiring chaos followers start just venerating chaos instead of a specific god, unless the interact with that specific part of chaos

Most fantasy writers arent military savvy or autistic about numbers. Those type of guys dont become authors. Tolkien is an exception because he wrote the standard for fantasy

>>97091466
The count customarily doesn't include specialists (techmarines (including vehicle pilots), librarians, chaplains), command staff (captains/lieutenants), dreads, vehicles and all the chapter serfs (including the ones manning the chapter fleet).
A million marines is not just a literal million of dudes in armor. It includes their entire support network.

They definitely are very slightly cheaper.
The rhino if a few dollars less and has no razorback parts, the marines are in a much more expensive at 90 USD a box, but come with 20 marines. People are kind of sick of the modern heresy marine kits having like six poses each shared even across armor variants and the heresy era terminators available at the moment are very old with next to no options. I prefer old MKIII armor which I stocked up on and printed parts out for along with printed terminator armor.
And if you dip into the heresy range you may as well get some heresy legends units since most are pretty capable (the typhon not withstanding since it was pretty meh)

So I was reading material about marine cum, and it's all very vague which lead me to continue to work backwards into the RT era, and... what the fuck does this mean...?

The Progenoid contains "gene-seeds" which can each be used to produce the implants within a host body, fine. But the progenoid develops the gene-seeds by sitting in a marine who has all the implants, so how can you duplicate the organs entirely within normal humans...? How does this work? But obviously, if you can implant the progenoid in the first place, you can implant a new one into a marine after it's removed. So a marine who gets his neck cum harvested gets a new cum sack to refill, and you don't just get two sets of gene-seed per marine.
>>
>>97091874
option two
i haven't read a shred of lore for the two armies i play and the third i'm painting
>>
>>97091967
The semen sack is implanted into the underaged neophyte with magical future medicine and it bonds to the supplicant. Once bonded, it can't be removed while the subject is alive. By the same virtue of future space magic medicine, the neck testicle is able to duplicate itself during the Marine's life, so when one dies, two sperm sacks can be harvested to continue the chapter's genetic legacy. It's also how a chapter is able to make up for losses they can't recover the jizz satchel from.

tl;dr, It's the Emperor's magic science, don't think too hard about it.
>>

sneedAI probably literally cannot replicate his thot process because it is mostly trained on dumb bullshit written by nu-authors.

To explain- warhammer fantasy is influenced by tolkein's ideas. This is why elves are simultaneously created by Asuryan but also some how by the old ones. This raises questions, the questions do not have answers. The reason they don't is because it happened so long ago no one knows the truth.

If it was a Nu-author, the kind that dominates now, they would be like "But whyyyyyyyyy is it like that" and answer all the wrong questions, removing historically-based mystery from the setting. Tolkein kept some stuff fragmentary/unclear specifically because if an event happened 3000 years ago chances are the records are all fucked up or missing pieces or maybe it's an oral story that only one witch in the great Mirky bog still knows and you have to seek her out. Nu-authors are like World of Warcraft-tier garbage where every little detail is explained clearly as though the protag can just 'know' all the millions of years of Titan history, even though that's stupid and unrealistic.

Pick whichever models you most like, obviously - models last in a way that rules don't - but bear in mind that GSC are probably the hardest army to play while also being up there with AdMech when it comes to level of detail required when painting a horde and WE have a very limited selection of options.

I've only played a little bit of 40k with some marines, but I just got two battlewagons for free. Never played Orks but I wanna make a Blood Axes army with those, one that's all about mobile infantry because that's taktikal, and preferably without any beast snaggas because they're not taktikal enough. But I'm a bit lost as to what to pick, other than the obvious 'wagon with warboss, painboy and 20 regular boys'. Are stormboys a good pick? Which unit is my main source of anti-tank if I'm not using beast snaggas? Please advise.

>I used to ask myself when learning about history how could so many push entire armies to kill and die, but I'm starting to think they knew how annoying and impossibly pointless most of those people were.

Friend, I've been thinking about this same topic for a long time and have studied it as a sociologist.

It all starts with "cognitive dissonance." Each person has a certain picture of the world. Everything they know about it is arranged into a single structure. Imagine a Jenga tower. All knowledge is like blocks in this tower.

Sometimes a person may encounter new information that cannot be integrated into this tower. Or that forces them to remove one of the blocks from the base, destroying the entire tower and forcing them to rebuild it.

The discomfort of reassembling your picture of the world, of making adjustments to your Jenga tower, is called "cognitive dissonance."

And here's the funniest thing: the tricks a person is unconsciously willing to go to AVOID experiencing cognitive dissonance. There are three standard reactions: avoiding the topic (which may lead to insights that change one's worldview), aggression, and rationalization.

But there are people who don't suffer from cognitive dissonance. While it may be unpleasant for them, it's perfectly normal to change and expand their worldview. Or even to reassemble it from time to time.

The ability to courageously face cognitive dissonance, to confront it, and to work with it—that's precisely the trait that distinguishes a person from an NPC.

Very cool, please provide a recipe for starch free mashed potatoes.
>>
>>97092631
Oh yeah, I forgot to add. According to various studies, about 95% of people are unable to properly work with their own worldview. They always choose comfortable ignorance over uncomfortable truth. "Plato is my friend, but the truth is more precious" – they choose Plato.

A qtip if you don't care about control too much. A brush VERY VERY SLIGHTLY moistened with white spirit if you do. I can't overstate this, if you're not careful with the amount of white spirit you're loading the brush with, it'll fucking flood out of it.
