Pathfinder has an Akashic(Icarnum in 3.5) system for cooking. It's pretty bare bones since it came out in a small errata for a supplement(April Augmented), but a lot of 3rd party expand on it and there are three alternate magic cooking systems(both PF and D&D) that ended up all being compatible by complete accident. It all comes together into one robust system.

Like most people who play 3.X the thing that tickles my autism about this game is the character creation. No other game even comes close. I have never come up with a character concept that it was not possible to make in 3.5.

Hopes and Feasts from Azoth games expands the base-bones initial system and consolidates most of the 3rd party expansions on it.
"The Flavor Handbook" has an entire separate magic cooking system based around it's main class "The Chef"(also some archetypes for other classes that are complete garbage). The effects of Magic cooking are determined by the person making the food and feat the eater has, the effects of Akashic cooking depend on the utensils used to cook(Chef's Armory Veilweave) and Ingredients used. A dish can be both Magical and Akashic.
The Quintessential Halfing Expands on the Craft/Profession cooking skill itself and adds a new mechanic for ingedients: Quality. It's accidentally compatible with the ingredient Rank system for akashic cooking(High rank ingredients are that way by Type[Dragon Meat > Normal Cow Meat], higher ranks Lower the DC. High quality ingredients are better versions of the same ingredient[Wagyu Cow is better than standard Cow], High quality adds a bonus to your roll.)
Book of Dragons details the effects of eating different parts of a dragon or draconic creature descended from a less picky dragon.

My personal Lego experience is the meta-spells and spell altering systems in 3.5. Being able to combine systems like circle magic, Energy Transformation Field, Spell Engine, Absorption, Arcane Conversion, Shadow Evocation/Conjuration, Psi-Spells, Reserves of Strength, etc. into elaborate Rube Goldberg machines that turn any effect into any other effect, grant more spells than you cast, or just generally get much more out of a spell than it was designed for.
On an unrelated note, I was banned from ever playing a wizard again.

MY proudest creation was something I called the "Energy Transformation Factory". Since the transformation field is permanent by default, You can cast 4 times during downtime to create a conveyor-belt of spell production.
>In the first field, key it to summon a monster with a spell-like ability and then have monsters summoned from it power the fields(including the summon monster field).

I used this bad boy for a oneshot wargame where everyone was 20th level, given Leadership, and assigned to help an army conquered an evil empire. The Hoards of level 1-5 experts and warriors suddenly became Very scary after they gained the ability to throw thousand of fireballs a round.

Are any of these subsystems available online? My group has always wanted to do a cooking type character, some have been more successful than others.

As an aside, since nobody has made a /pfg/ thread in over a week (and since the last time I made a thread with one of my Vtuber character sheets as the header nobody posted in it lol) I figure this is as good a place as any since I got a decent response last time I posted in this megathread.
This week's sheet was a bit convoluted, the streamer presents as a catgirl but when I asked her what her lore was she gave me this convoluted story about how she was a housecat that died, then her body was taken over by a plant that transformed her into a cat-GIRL, and now she's pretty sure that if the plant is removed from her head she'll die. I had a heck of a time figuring out how to represent that mechanically, but as suggested in the lore blurb there's already a creature that sort of does like 70% of that already in the form of this creature here:

so I took a bit of inspiration from that and made essentially a variant on the plant.

I'm thinking about Healers in a general sense. Picrel is in the Spell Compendium, but such spells are never listed in the SRD or other official-y sources. What are y'alls thoughts on this? Why were these spells never added to the SRD like spells from other supplements regularly are?

Youtube keeps throwing videos about other systems at me and I give them a chance but every time I am thinking 'no, this is objectively worse. It makes less sense, its a lesser simulation, etc'.
3.x hits that perfect sweet spot for me where, I don't want more precise simulation because its a headache to track, but I don't want it any less. And I love how there seems to be a set of rules for everything I want to do and if I don't like that set of rules, there are probably several variants in 3pp material.

btw, side tangent, but art like this is what drew me to the hobby in the first place.
