I started reading The Hunt for Jardine. Its possible I am retarded, but I think the nerds were discussing a species of large cat that was suitable to be a mount? Does that mean I could have a platoon of Dragoons riding on BattleCats?

The Mad Cat Prime is a result of crossbreeding a Marauder with a Catapult, as everyone knows. But the Mad Cat D is actually a result of breeding a Marauder with a Catapult K2, which causes the PPC genes to be expressed more strongly. Despite the name, the Mad Cat Mk II is actually a result of breeding a Catapult with a Nightstar, hence the gauss rifles.A few other crossbreeds can be tracked. The Hellbringer is a result of an experimental cross between a Warhammer and a Raven, while the Summoner is a much more successful cross between a Warhammer and a Centurion, hence the missiles.Attempts were made to breed the Dragon with various other mechs in order to produce a new machine, but strangely, the Dragon is such a dominant gene line that this just produced more Dragons such as the Grand Dragon(crossed with Panther) and Dragon II(crossed with Catapult C5). This glut in various Dragon breeds and their vast numbers lead to an interesting phenomenon where the huge numbers of Dragons caused their value to sharply drop. Hey there. I got the Battletech Beginner's and the Battletech AGOAC boxes, and we already played the learn to play scenario from the beginner's. We really enjoyed it. The thing is that we don't really know what to play next. How is Battletech supposed to be played? Is it just deathmatch lance vs lance using mechs in TROs until both players have a similar battle value in points? Is there any kind of objective driven scenario we could play? Do we have to make our own lances or are there mission books or something like that? We've already heard about Aces, but we'd prefer to play Classic for the meantime. Thank you very much in advance.
>>97580568>2 heat sinks>6 heat sinks>9 heat sinks>20 heat sinksI was wondering where they were getting the tonnages for their weapons, but holy fuck. Are those spare heat sinks or total heat sinks? If those are total, those pilots would fry

>>97580568>>97582272After trying it out in megamek, those are extra heatsinks. If the Kuma was five tons lighter it would have an extra seven tons to spend, and the combination of a weapon with an accuracy penalty with a super jump isn't the best choice. Obviously you would have to work pretty hard to make a bad mech with clan weapons.
>>97582380that's just clan culture
>>97582389It DOES have the accurate weapon quirk on it that at least counteracts the penalty at least.
>>97582404kek
>>97582404Ah, such a classic meme.
>>97582380The guy scanning said there are 13 issues
>>97582389>If only it was x tons lighterSame could be said for many a mech. Doesn't mean they are bad. Incidentally you only end up with 8 crits to play with which isn't a lot considering you probably want to dump a lot of that tonnage into extra heatsinks so probably end up with a boring pulse boat.
>>97582460The older stuff is often golden.
Nyo, what the Kuma highlights is the problem with Improved JJs. If the rules were "+0.5t" instead of "2x", then IJJs would not be so crippling to mount and it would serve a strong purpose in giving slower, heavier mechs a means to jump a reasonable distance.
>>97582557Slower, heavier, Mechs SHOULDN'T jump a reasonable distance. Jumping is the single most broken thing about movement and ignores literally every penalty. Heavy and assault Mechs don't need the help.
>>97582557Ironically I like the prototype version of IJJs more. Double heat from jumping can get nasty but at least they're the normal weight.Still, their best case usually is just downsizing the engine and just jumping everywhere. 4/6/6 is somewhat better than 5/8/5
>>97582585Honestly that's what makes the Kuma being 6/9/8 even weirder. It could drop to 5/8/8 and not lose anything. Not sure what you'd do with the extra weight but it's there.
>>97582585Honestly the Kuma is better off with switching the IJJs for JJs and taking Partial Wing instead. It still hits 7 jump for the Dodge bonus, but you also have extra cooling and free tonnage to play with. I ended up switching the HLL for an CER-PPC, 2 extra DHS for 13 in the engine, an extra CERML and a TargComp to not lose the accuracy bonus from the Accurate Quirk that was on the HLL, but now applied to all the weapons.I guess you could go for a Pulse LL and Pulse MLs instead, but that's just going fully into cheese territory.
>>97582591>>97582606Honestly changing anything about it would just make it boring.
>>97582630But it's bad, and bad Mechs shouldn't exist. If Sean says it's bad then it needs to be changed.
>>97582264A lot of players just do BV balanced lance vs lance deathmatch and call it a day, but BT is a huge system with an extensive toolkit. You could do a campaign and/or add all kinds of non-deathmatch objectives, link multiple battles together, copy "historical" battles, play it as an RPG, whatever you want. Almost everyone balances things using BV2 (and most also use a combination of in-universe year and rules level to limit options), but the actual official rule in the main book is to pick or create a scenario and then select forces according to it. If the scenario says to use arbitrarily or randomly selected units, then that's what you do. Everything is up to the players to agree on.
>>97582630What if I want to switch to regular JJs so I can fit on a Large Vibroblade?

Stone Lions are cool. More lore for them when? More lore for the Home Clans when?
>>97582735>More lore for the Home Clans when?Probably never unless it involves them being wiped out because the writers never know what to do with them desu. Some Clans get a pass because the writers in charge of them are clearly writing things they think are cool and can get away with it because the main team couldn't give any less of a shit about the Periphery. Like with the Scorpions and their foundation and expansion as a Deep Periphery empire, or the Hell's Horses who basically exist to produce the experimental anime-esque equipment that the old Line Dev would have seethed over, like the Incubus II with its refined freehanded weaponry, QuadVees, and Glider Protomechs.
>>97582735I hope never. The Wars of Reaving was great but given the current standard of the lore, I don't believe they'd do anything good with the homeworld clans. Leave them be.

On top of painting up some BA I also got a game in yesterday. During the fighting on Reykavis within the Marian Hegemony, a small force of Cohors Morituri are assigned an impossible task. To kill the Manei Domini leading the WoB invasion force and cut off the head of the Blakist leadership. It is a suicide mission, but the Cohors Morituri exist only to die. The unit hides, deactivated and silent, within a small forest directly in the path of the Blakist advance. As the Master's servants pass by on their march towards victory, the Cohort of the Dead reactivate their machines and burst from hiding, hurling themselves at the Faithful forces with the reckless courage of one who knows he is already dead. This was a Marian victory, remarkably. Neither of us actually expected them to win but they did it, those crazy bastards in the Cohort of the Dead actually did it. It cost all of their mechs except for one, but they brought down Adept Ra, and with her death the Blakist invasion is thrown into chaos, buying time for the rest of the Hegemony's forces to rally and, perhaps, even granting them a small chance at victory.
Looks like someone inverted the colour palette lol
I also just really like how this pic came out :)

>Clan scientists make a mech with a good simple loadout that can fight mechs and infantry>Inner Sphere scientists are baffled and confused
>>97583112Because this loadout is probably physically impossible to replicate with IS tech.Because for some reason(bad writing) the clans can just make super star league tech in the span of 20 years and then nobody is allowed to make anything except sidegrades for the next three centuries.
>>97583140>Because this loadout is probably physically impossible to replicate with IS tech.NoThe Incubus 1 is perfectly replicateable with a slightly smaller engine or other compromises. It's role in combat given by its armament is perfectly straightforward. But scientists were scratching their head until they learned that the Clans had DUELS! Historians and anthropologists will be poring over this one for decades.
>>97583173>The Incubus 1 is perfectly replicateable>if you don't actually replicate the loadout
>>97583112You are aware that designs like the Thunderbolt do exist since the Age of War?
>>97582264Surprisingly enough, you're hitting on one of the most common questions in BT. It's a remarkably flexible game, but part of that flexibility comes from its quixotic refusal to set anything approaching a standard of play. The new rulebook due later this year is taking the bold (for BT) of suggesting some gamey neutral missions, something obvious for anyone who has played, say, 40K in the past 25 years, but a huge leap for a Battletech rulebook. That's the kind of environment you're dealing with.
>>97583207*have existedAlso meant to add that there are plenty of IS generalist designs out there that can easily deal with multiple threats. Hell stick infernos on an SRM and instant infantry barbecue.
>>97583112>>97583227I suppose they're just confused the Clans actually did a reasonable generalist loadout instead of just sticking enough pulse lasers or ERPPCs on the mech to instantly shut down the reactor if they're all fired at once.
>>97583291Well you know what they say about a broken watch. There are conversely some IS designs that would be competent dueling mechs that don't do so hot on a live battlefield.
>>97583173Okay that’s not exactly a fair concession>yeah this is still an Incubus it just runs slower, dies easier, hits softer, and is missing weapons, but it’s got two mediums and a large laser so it’s basically the same thingTo get similar performance out of the weapons you’re looking for IS mechs that pack 2 large lasers and a PPC (or large pulse), which is roughly equivalent to the damage that 2 Clan ER Mediums and an Large Pulse can do. The closest thing that approaches that on a clan invasion IS mech is the Blackjack BJ2-OD, and that’s a 3057 mech and it sure as FUCK doesn’t move 9/14. Or go up to 60 tons and be a Lancelot, but again, you haven’t really made an Incubus then, have you?If I was an IS scientist and saw a mech that runs faster than a fucking locust and hits as hard as an IS heavy and ran ice cold doing it, I would be in absolute disbelief.
>>97583437They weren't confused by the tech itself, though, since by this time IS had already encountered Clan frontline omnimechs and knew from first-hand experience what Clantech could do. They were specifically confused by the choice of weapon loadout.
>>97583536Which is kinda silly, because a big gun backed up by a couple of medium guns with some anti-infantry options isn't particularly strange. They should have made it so they were baffled by something like big prominent weapon lockouts in the cockpit. Why would anyone want to be able to turn their weapons completely off one by one? Why would it need such a prominent console when something like that would normally be buried in a maintenance menu?

>>97583291>just sticking enough pulse lasers or ERPPCs on the mech to instantly shut down the reactor if they're all fired at once. This is correct way of building robots, you might not like it but this is peak of human engineering.
>>97583291No, this happens more than once to 2nd line battlemechs. The Vapor Eagle is another and it also has a perfectly sensible generalist prime configuration.
>>97583709They basically had a full on mental breakdown and decided that the only way to fix the Inner Sphere was to be in charge and if you weren't going to let them lead, then clearly you were the problem.Burn it all down and rebuild from the ashes in their own image, kinda thing. Also the Manei Domini and the rest of the WoB were pursuing their own goals by the end of the Jihad so much of the randomness that makes it seem like the WoB were simply lashing out without an aim was the result of two sides of the Word trying to achieve to their own aims. There's also an in-universe, half-canon-not-canon theory that the Master purposefully did all this horrible shit to unite the Inner Sphere against him and usher in a new, united nation like the Star League in order to bring about Blake and Toyama's vision, IE the Republic of the Sphere.

>>97583766The vision for the RotS was grand and wonderful but it fell apart without Stone. It could be argued the vision of Blake and Toyama will be achieved by the Clans if Ward's successors can keep the new Star League around. Which is ironic since the WoB loathed the Clans due to them not being a part of the Prophecy and viewing them as cowards that fled and the let OG League die.
>>97583790>It could be argued the vision of Blake and Toyama will be achieved by the Clans if Ward's successors can keep the new Star League around. We know it endures 100 years at least so it'll last longer than the RotS at least. Thus far though, its lore is no where near as interesting.
>>97583437Yes you are confused about the complaint being brought up. It is not the amount of free weight it has for its tonnage, the problem is describing the mech as having a nonsensical loadout until "learning" that it is meant for duels. Which is completely nonsensical writing. If it were applied to a mech with a truly overloaded setup like the Loki then it makes perfect sense to question why it has too many guns of different kinds, but the Incubus in its original config should inspire no such reaction. It is a Wolfhound with machineguns and very fast legs, Spheroid analysts should comprehend its battlefield role instantly while only being surprised that it has a secondary function of matching itself to other opponents, which is also bad writing anyway because just about any mech can do this and it doesn't have a grabbag weapons list either.

>>97583866>Question about Alpha Strike, do you like it?At work so short answer. Yes, I love it. If you want to play combined arms, it's the way to go. Protos, vehicles, BA and so on are fucking barrels of fun to use in AS.If you want pure mech on mech, classic is the way to go. Mech vs Mech is done much better there. AS is for combined arms, large scale battles. Classic is for smaller scale, handful of mech fights.
>>97583807Okay I see what you mean now, and yeah that’s a bit of a reach; I’m expected to believe that spheroids couldn’t conceive a use case for an Incubus until they were told it’s for dueling? It’s a basic fast striker with a spread of machine guns for anti-infantry work, I struggle to see what’s so confusing about the concept of such a mech.
I wonder how the clan invasion would have gone if they decided to do a bunch of moral posturing instead of coming to pick a fight. A tour of the IS, showing off their tech and moral character. That kind of stuff.
>>97583957So what they go around giving everyone headpats and calling them all very naughty children?
>>97583734Fucking this. So many babies cry if it's not perfectly heat neutral. "Waaaahhh my heat efficiency I build movement heat it's literally unplayable!" I paid for the whole heat scale and by Blake I'm going to use it! If you are dead and I am not, then it doesn't fucking matter!

>>97584159Sell miniatures?
>>97584101Bracket fire mechs or ones that can ride the heat scale are my favorites. If I can smash the big red button every turn and never heat up even if I try, that’s boring. Stuff like the Ebon Jaguar A is where it’s at - this is a real fucking mech for real fucking pilots.

I chosen Cloud Cobra mostly because painting scheme looked cool but also plains.>>97584101Penalties for heat are a big thing but having option of doing aditional 1-2-3 dmg is tempting and tactically viable at certain moments.I overheated my mecha on first turn, run and hide on second, on third got closer and OV them again for big dmg. 5 to 3 kills say I was correct.
Should a Battletech show do a retelling of canon events, or should it focus on a ragtag bunch of mercs?
>>97584455I've found the characters in pretty much every recent story(the past like decade or so being recent) almost universally insufferable or boring, so I'd rather just something focusing on a DC unit fighting the clans during the opening stages of the clan invasion or something.
>>97584475Honestly, a BT show would work best as an anthology. Few episodes tell a short story across the IS during different eras. Maybe a major event or two.

>>97584716I feel like you've misread the post you responded to.
>>97583709People gave you the in-universe reason: the real reason is that Clicktech existed, and they rebooted Battletech in the "Dark Age Era" where technology was shit and mechs were rare. For a new game they needed a blank slate, or something that resembled a blank slate, so they made up the Jihad as a way to build the Republic and a period of disarmament/peace to justify the new starting point. The Jihad doesn't make much sense because it was a half-assed job at best to justify a timeskip. All the reasons they tried in-universe to explain make little sense or are preposterous at best: how could a small techcult try to conquer the entire IS? And so you have 40+ divisions of troops and killer cyborgs from thin air. Where are all the "beloved" units and characters? Killed by Blakists. This has the weird result that the Blakists were allowed to punch in the face a lot of sacred cows (Goons, Fochstar) before being annihilated by the new Hero of The Setting, Devlin Stone.
>>97584801The Jihad was planned before dark age, but it wasn't nearly as devastating, more likely to have been some kind of suicide run to take out fochtstar and maybe try to decapitate strike the successor states and clans. Dark Age specifically mentioned it as one of the main contributing factors to there even being a dark age, so it had to be expanded way beyond its original scope.
>>97584801And thus began the line of companies fucking with the setting to "put their mark on the franchise"they could have readily done that by just reprinting material and putting their logo on the front.
>>97584819I do agree. Field Manual: Comstar seems to setup the Jihad as a more limited conflict that would have seen Fochstar triumph as usual. All that Second Star League elite units being killed off like chumps by Blakists always felt a tad anticlimactic.
>>97584832They wanted it to be a blind box game and they wanted the mechs to be the rare pulls. That means the common pulls had to be trash, and even in the deepest depths of the 3rd succ, mechs were fairly common and definitely on what constituted the front lines. The dark age of confusion where everyone can fight anyone and barely any of them have mechs (and what mechs they do have are new dark age exclusives) is a direct result of the blind box business model. They worked backwards in more than one way to justify it. All the mechs are destroyed by some central authority. Communications are fucked and nobody knows who they're fighting or why. Half the things on the table are the equivalent of backhoes with a machine gun duct taped on top.How did this follow on the fedcom civil war? Uhh...Jihad! And the winner of the Jihad told everyone to put their mechs away! Then it all broke so now they fight without mechs unless you get a rare pull. Then when they started working on actual Battletech again they had to start at the Civil War and continue through the Dark Age, so they had to actually explain this whole Jihad thing.
>>97584876It's better if you just ignore everything post-FASA because all of that is copes to justify shitty fanfiction inserts.Except it isn't really fanfiction is it? They're clearly not fans of the game.
>>97584876The only thing wizkids did right was licensing fanpro to publish Battletech while wizkids was shitting the bed with clickytech, so we got the only licensee since FASA to do things right, where Fanpro only reprinted existing material and altered it only insofar as to correct editing errors (IIRC)

Sprint tracks, looped multi-lap tracks? lots of things to consider.Got to use terrain extensively, lots of pavement but maybe throw in a swamp or hills course to mix things up.professional circuit tracks or street racing between city buildings tracks? Both? if street racing will there be police urbies/enforcers trying to shoot down or pull over the players?

>>97586662Leave it to some civilian dipshit to demand soldiers be fed like dogs always instead of just most of the time. Almost every other American on the planet can get a cheeseburger across the globe, so if Private fuckwit wants to come back to a base covered in dust, oil and grime and he says "You know what, I want a greasy awful burger," how fucking dare you deny him his birthright. The morale benefits alone of having a hot meal like you'd have back home, even a goofy ass fast food one, instead of something coming out of a brown waxed paper bag-- you almost can't measure it.
>>97586095>ALM-XF>This Fireball unique variant, built in 3077, was equipped with a 320-rated XXL engine, MASC, and supercharger. This combination of speed systems gives it a consistent running speed of 259.2 km/h, with bursts of up to 432 km/h possible. Weaponry consists only of a pair of ER small lasers, while protection is provided by a mere three and a half tons of ferro-fibrous armor. Despite these limitations, and the fragile XL gyro, the owner (noted as a criminal) didn't see this as a problem. The Fireball-XF (which stands for "Extra Fast") is used only in illegal street races. Also the Noisiel games included mech racing. So all we need is a structure for how to do the courses on tabletop, but if it's going to be all Fleas I think no weapons allowed is best, the PSR hazards carry enough risk of mech destruction without the Large Laser one-shotting your opposition.

>>97586837RulesThe Rules for this Scenario are based on CriticalRocket's Race Rules and fitted to this particular race track:- The race goes over 3 full runs of the race track.- All players play Phoenix-Hawk K's or similar 6/9/0 Mechs.- Obviously, the game can also be played with 4 Teams of 2 or some such.- The legitimate race track is the floor of the valley. The players can use the alternate tracks in the middle zone, the towers can't reach them there anyway.- Crossing the river costs 1 mp less, i.e. 4MP, since it is shallow. But it still provides full cooling in case of leg mounted heatsinks.- A mech may stand on the level 2 ledge of the valley for one turn. If it stays for longer, the nearest 2 Towers start shooting at it, all sets with real ammo.- If a mech shoots one of the towers, all towers start shooting all their rockets at that mech for the next 3 rounds using regular ammo.- If a mech shoots at the radio tower, all tower start shooting at that mech. And in addition, there are two full squads of SRM troops coming out of the hotels in APCs, comprised of very angry influencers and 'stars'.
>>97586868Mayhem- At the start of the second run through the race course, all players may start firing at each other. Before that, only close combat takes place as the mechs jockey for position. The mech's guns are switched off before they cross the line for the first time.- Killing a Mech gets 1 Point, finishing first 4 Points, second 3 Points and so on.- If two Mechs have an equal number of points at the end of 3 runs through the race course, they have to make an additional run. But this time, they may go through the middle break in the wall without setting off the mines there. If they run through that area at any other time, they will find it mined with an anti-mech mine doing 20 damage.- These are gladiatorial games done for a 3D audience on 15 worlds, so exceptional effects get extra points. The players vote if a particular action gets that point.- And of course: Coup-de-Grace on a downed mech gets +1 victory points IF the player rolls 8+ on audience opinion, +1 for each victory point the downed mech made with exceptional effects, i.e. if the pilot is cool, the audience doesn't want them taken out.

>>97586892Does always feel like the Clan hybrid nations are basically Clans first, IS second.
>>97586912The thing is the different approaches for them could be really interesting. Rasalhague has allegedly produced a true unified culture with shared values, the Raven Alliance basically operates two nations and the Ravens are responsible for the military security of both, and the Wolf Empire imposes the Wolf caste system top-down from the outside on a mix of Lyrans and Spheroids, yet none of these different approaches to conquest and colonialism really get explored.

Like yeah seperatist elements were always a thing in the shared Drac/Lyran space, but they never really came off as the vast majority, just a significant enough minority to justify Comstar pushing the Dracs to turn the area into a buffer state against the FedCom. Even the Ronin Wars were basically the Dracs carrying the Kungsarmé against forces who explicitly didn't want to choose between being forced out of the DC or being forced out their homes in the former district.
>>97586908Why would they? the Rasalhaguians didn't like the weeb culture, they refused it, it's why the combine granted them independence to create a buffer zone from the clans, they were a sacrifice, whereas the Ghost Bears treated their conquered civilians well and their family values were a good match for the Scandinavian Rasalhaguian culture, they had no reason to fight a war they were guaranteed to lose when the new master was a straight improvement over the old.

I am so very happy FASA made the japanese battletech box.I got one 'battletech is bootled macross' weeb bend into a precel from malding when I showed him Kawamori made original mechs for battletech, not copied, not lifted from another anime, just for battletech. He could not cope, it was amazing.
>>97587851Good. CGL should die and all of its supporters with it. CGL Battletech isn't true Battletech and never will be.
>>97587835Nice!
>>97587872Didn't ask.
Do thy event reprint salvage boxes for older campaigns or are they done deal?
>>97586775Its Army and Marine regulation that you cannot eat MRE's for more than 29 days. They will fuck up your insides.
>>97587441Then the Blakists ruined the planet with magic bullet chemical weapons and neutron bombs like the faggots they are.
>>97587740CGL acknowledged that Alaric and Clan Wolf winning wasn't very popular with the Fandom. He's 100% gonna get got, just not immediately. The new Star League to continue without him very easily. We probably should make a bingo or betting pool on how he gets wacked
>>97587937POST THE COPYPASTA. you know the one.
>>97587998Aff, Star Captain!"Day 29 of the MRE diet. I haven't pooped in three weeks. I’m pretty sure I have 15 jalapeno cheddar spreads just sitting in my intestines like dried cement. My skin has turned a light shade of olive drab, and I can hear the Heater, Flameless Ration, whispering secrets of the void in my sleep. I tried to eat a banana yesterday, but my body rejected the lack of preservatives. I am become Meal, Refusing to Exit, Destroyer of Toilet Pipes. Send coffee instant type II."
Pair of Hegemony bullies bullying an innocent Blakist in an alleyway :'( what is this Sphere coming to?
>>97588105Make one for gunning down the Word of Blake.
>>97588142Why? The Word of Blake is nothing like Amaris. We didn't do anything wrong.
Would Blood Spirit be the best Clan to paint up to fight the Society with? They're the Clan most obsessed with the dream and vision of Kerensky and are basically Clan purists so I think it'd be fun to fight the Society with 'em as they'd loathe the very idea of the Society and probably want to see them wiped out more than most.
>>97587851>>97587864>I got one 'battletech is bootled macross' weeb bend into a precel from malding when I showed him Kawamori made original mechs for battletech, not copied, not lifted from another anime, just for battletech.>>97587929>Do thy event reprint salvage boxes for older campaigns or are they done deal? It's weird, supposedly the Salvage Boxes were the passible spares from misprints of the box sets, but I don't know if those were the big game sets or also the packs.
Cazador looks awesome. Model when?
>>97580937I honestly thought that was holding two bananas there till I opened the thumbnail. >>97586261Davions would deploy a Triple F burger on the frontlines guaranteed. >>97586908Writers said that the Hogs had over 200 regiments which should have been able to hold but Clan Wolf had plot armor so that was that.>>97587098As much as I enjoyed MW4 boy did they fuck up the mech roster.>>97587835Don't mind me asking has anyone been able to translate these yes?

>>97588070wrong one.disregard file name, renamed it because i keep losing it.
This a decent Blood Spirits Star? Decent amount of IF and the BS used a load of Protomechs so it seems lore accurate to include them.
>>97586744Although there was at least one recorded incident of a riot caused by an orbital blockade induced shortage of pickles.
daily reminder the US navy had ICE CREAM tenders. literally, to stop them from mutiny, the fleets had tenders, giant ships JUST to make ice cream with which admirals bribed whole fleets of sailors with ice cream. especially in the pacific, the heat.
>>97587840>Build-FookMy sidesAlso, that KEN-3NC is a beast
>>97588186>Don't mind me asking has anyone been able to translate these yes?My Japanese is, embarrassingly not good enough, but I can roughly work out the loadouts by filling in the blanks.
>>97588240British navy had rum rations until 1970.
>>97588246yes. but they kept that aboard. they never had entire ships whose entire purpose was to MAKE the stuff keeping right near massed fleets to provide fresh supplies constantly.
>>97588240You seriously can't be stupid enough to believe that.
>>97588260they have the pictures dude, in multiple war museums, navy archives etc. we have the LOGS of the sailors who served on the ice cream ships.
>>97588204Not my fault you bought a slutty toaster.
>>97588266>they have the pictures dude,AIsloppa isn't real, anon. That never happened.
Sorry to bother you with so obvious spoonfeeding, but I found this in Sarna:https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Ronin!The independence wars for FRR sound like an incredibly interesting setting, and I'd like to play this with a friend or at least take a look inside. However I cannot find the pdf in Catalyst storea, and a real-world copy goes for like 130€ or something on ebay.Language is not an issue. I'm not from germanosphere, but I speak German fine.Would anyone have any kind of tip towards a scan? Please.

No thread i see on VST so, what mod does everyone recommend for Batletech 2018?Roguetech seems to have everything, but run like crap.BTA has alot, but also runs choppy and has some fan fic things in it.What does BEX add?Im wanting to mess with Battle armor and Vehicles too.
>>97588260>>97588313Anon, there were literally destroyer crews hunting down USN pilots for sole reason to ransom said pilots back to carriers for ice cream.
>>97587840>build fookNice.
>>97588179>pic relatedYou see, Japs can make a mech without usless shit sticking out in random places or having fucking skirts or heels. Wtf happened? Most(like 98%) of gundams look retarded and completely not usable with anything other than anime-physics.
>>97588569Remember that anything I dislike is AI. Anything I can get a rise out of someone else by calling fake is also AI.

>>97588569And you belive this shit? What next made up thing you gonna swallow without thinking? Burning human body under 10min in coal powered crematorium?
>>97588721These guys probably think horses are real.
>>97588569Wow you actually believe that. Tell me, are you on the market to buy a bridge, anon? You should be, I've an amazing deal I can make you!
>>97583709Their religion was built around rebuilding star league, and the inner sphere got really close with the second star league but then the perfidious capellans and brother-fucker steiner went and dissolved it. So the executive decision was made to kill them all rather than trust these fucks with anything important again
>>97588696>Japs can make a mech without usless shit sticking out in random placesAnon, what the fuck are you smoking that you don't see the random ass cylinders jutting out all over the Jap Rifleman?
>>97588703Everything I dislike is a Blakist plot!
>>97588829Looks good to me.
>>97588829On the japtech designs, those cylinders are heat sink vents.
We never did get an update on the plastic Jihad-era mechs, did we? That whole thing is kind of dead in the water it seems.
>>97588209Part of the price of serving ZOG.
>>97588980Last we saw there was the Kerenskycon doc from 2024 which included a plastic Celestials pack, but that was more CGL's wishlist than a firm plan. It'd be cool if they made the Celestials the opfor in a Jihad-era Aces box set
What overhaul mod should I get for HBS Battletech? Should I do the campaign first before messing with mods?
>>97589189Th9s isn't a videogame board
>>97589189Probably play the campaign first, mods can throw the difficulty way off.
>>97589195This is the Battletech general on 4chan, so I'm going to talk about Battletech things here. Thanks!
>>97589189Do the campaign first, but look up the tweak you can do to enable Flashpoints as soon as you get the Argo. Bouncing between the Restoration campaign, Heavy Metal campaign, and the individual flashpoints is the absolute best way to play. Don't bother with the overhaul mods unless you want more after that's done.
>>97589198>>97589218>play the campaignIf anon doesnt like the base game why should he endure playing through hours of it?But also I dont believe any of you play actual battletech, post models.
The clan mind cannot comprehend triple strength myomar, nor melee weapons. But outside of those, are there any techs the IS has over or parity with the clans on?
>>97589231If you insist. Also, he didn't say he disliked the base game, just asked how best to play. >>97589233Plasma Rifles and both kinds of Heavy Gauss. MMLs.
>>97589239It was fun getting this base onto the board, always makes a cool centerpiece with the indoor fighting and all.
>>97589231I showed you mine now you show me yours ;)
>>97589189I asked earleir and was ignored. The big ones are Roguetech, adds everything, Super autistic and runs like crapBTA "advanced" Which adds most things, runs meh to bad, but adds alot on fan fanfic factions and tech that dosnt fit right. Also rebalances stuff oddly. Then there is BEX which is like a vanilla+ from what i have heard, but dosnt add vehicles or BA as playable.
WAKE NOT THE SLEEPING BEAR…During the chaotic late years of the Dark Age, two Ghost Bear cadets find each other as conflicting loyalties threaten to drive them apart.Freeborn Strider has fought to become a MechWarrior for most of his life, and now stands on the precipice of making his dream come true.Trueborn Vespertine is a true product of Clan Ghost Bear, and also hopes to graduate into the exalted ranks of the MechWarriors. But simmering tensions between the Ghost Bears and the civilians of the Rasalhague Dominion—the only successful merging of a Clan with an Inner Sphere faction—are rising in intensity, threatening to tear the nearly century-old alliance asunder. Along with that comes the invitation from the new ilKhan to join the reborn Star League, causing further division among the populace. And with Strider and Vespertine also embracing different views of the conflict, will they fight each other if the disagreements erupt into all-out war?
>>97589231So now that two others posted models, where are yours, anon?
>>97589299Just got this on digital thanks for the heads up anon, have not done much reading on the dominion yet. Going to have to read this and Dominions Divided before Snowblind comes out
>>97589340>>97589299Despite the memes Young is a competent but not spectacular author, so I'll probably give this a read. Apparently it's a four-installment novella series, I might just wait for the collection.
How bad are the sales that CGL tries to shill the book even here.

>>97589507>BT writers using AI now. Oh fuck sake...
>>97589580No, they do not. The clans, like most totalitarians, taught a highly distorted version of history that validated their political aims.
>>97589580Anon has never heard of propaganda and false history, apparently.

>>97589676Defensive little Nogames faggot.
>>97589580The clanners were literally confused when the inner sphere didn't know what a batchall is. The average warrior only studies history in so far as they listen to the remembrance and stories about their trueborn ancestors. Knowing the specific details of anything before Nicky established the clans would require the warrior to take a special interest in obscure history and spend their free time researching it.
>>97589698It was also largely verboten, if not in law then in practice as adhering to SLDF military tactics was what got the Wolverines in trouble, so studying that history and comparing it to their modern ways would lead to dissent on the matter of how to best fight.

>>97589580They don't. Clan society is an abomination, essentially a caste-based stratocracy that avoids gerontocracy mostly because it kills off the vast majority of its soldiers after they reach 30. The lower castes try to build something akin to a culture, but they're essentially enslaved by a bunch of psychopathic tribalistic schizos. If you dropped a Clanner in a SLDF formation, he'd go insane (Warships, large formations, single-type Mech units, logistics...).
>>97589580The clans are a violent society where anyone over 30 is considered old. They learn clan lore (mostly about how theirs is the best) and only agree on hating spheroids. They couldn't function without other castes to do their hard thinking for them, and somehow manage to look down on these smarter ones. They have a basically gangbanger tier mentality.
>>97590030>anyone over 30 is considered oldAnyone over 30 **IS** old. Just die and get out of the way.
>>97590041Women over 30 are old, men over 30 have just entered true adulthood.
