>>98093533I think it would force players to be more careful in their assessment of their mana bases, and would ultimately prevent more non-games from happening. Here's something I've seen a ton. Someone keeps a 2 land hand because they've got an arcane signet too. They get to turn 4 or whatever, they haven't seen another land because they're already only running 34 (they've got mana rocks!) then someone decides to hit their signet with a Reclamation Sage or it's an incidental hit to a Vandalblast or Meltdown, and all of a sudden they're basically out of the game. It's passe at this point but that video about pulling out mana rocks was actually pretty right. Most of them are pretty bad. Adding MDFCs and extra lands and making sure you hit a land drop every turn is way more important than playing a signet.

For casual games where tempo doesn't matter as much I've started building every part of the deck with card advantage in mind and I'm consistently finding it easier to fly under the radar with card advantage. >>98095207I think it's just the flashiest way of showing your land base is better. You don't have a game won or lost by one land normally. But if all your lands come in untapped and half of theirs come in tapped you do have a significant advantage.
>>98095241Sounds like an opponents not taking advantage of you putting your life so low. Many such cases. I've won plenty of games at 1,2 or 3 life because someone refused to attack me when I was wide open and nothing else was on board. It all comes down to who you're playing with. Bad, shitty players will blame anything but themselves for losing all the time.
>>98095220 You want access to high-color good stuff piles without having to work for it. Then you will turn around and cry and piss yourselves and make sure that all tools that punish you for your greed are eliminated. Legislative capture in a hobby of all things.

This commander is legit so fucking dumb, i built a deck for $200 and not putting much effort into it and hes immediately the best out of my br3 decks, and it is far too easy to combo off and have 20 min turns, you dont even need labman or whatever, you can just use effects to reshuffle cards into your library and keep milling
>>98095271Anon do you think less than two of each basic land type is going to consistently cover all your color pip needs?

>>98095255I like to use life as a resource so I often drain myself building up a board, and once I get to that low point on life, I'm usually set up at a point where people really can't do anything and I win. It wasn't like they weren't trying up to that point. I've always said that the most important thing to do for an EDH deck is to build a good manabase that doesn't come in tapped. With fetches and shocks you can do that for relatively cheap, but all that life can add up. Hence, why I do advocate getting or trading for them if you can and you have a bracket 4-5 deck that you've played a bunch and do need to squeak out a few extra %.
>>98095255Not attacking if it's <5 damage is a massive flaw that like all players seems to have.
I have a deck that damages itself a lot and the worst feeling about it is that it fairly often benefits from "pity" plays. People will not assess boardstate they'll just look at life totals and act like I'm in the back of the race just because my life total is lowest.
>>98095301You don't get it, if I attack with my 1/1 squirrel token, then the next guy could drop a 30/30 Haste Double Strike Infect creature and kill me. I'll pass.

>>98095207They aren't that much stronger than shocks but they're pretty much exclusively used by proxyfags with no restraint playing the full 10 while their friends at the same table are on budget lands in their 2c decks. There's no seethe its just kind of obnoxious.
>>98095396Really depends on the number of colors for the deck. I'd say 2 color decks can get away with zero duals at all and can run one dual per "utility land", but as color count raises, the more powerful Untapped duals become and Five color decks need fetchable duals unless they are just green decks with extra colors.

It is the reason White cards usually have niggers on them these days. The fact that someone can see a White card and crack the joke "White Power huhuhu" gives R&D nightmares.
