Anyone happen to know where these bootleg lego minifigures come from? Really love their design and would like to buy more/see their playsets.

Kinda want one
damn, I had these figures but mine were pirate themed. I also don't know where they're from and haven't been able to find them online.
There is a cop, pirates, cowboys, indians, a viking, and a motorcycle cop, and the rest of the village people. The ones above are a miner and a little paramedic boye.

They kinda work more like bootleg playmobil but they're made of REALLY good hard plastic and work with a lot of your other toys.

holy shit I had those exact dudes. my set was a cop station, cop motorbike, cop car, ambulance, medic helicopter, firetruck and a bunch of construction workers

google says they are K'nex

I can't believe you found it, well done anon! I had a feeling it wasn't k'nex but they did look like the type of figurines they would give out

Thanks to you too! Cool to finally know what these little guys came from.

Lmao look at the figurine on the left he looks like a village person about to sing the YMCA

I'm honest to god tempted to buy it desu fifty is a good price
so these had no branding, no wonder they're difficult to find online.

Wow I had some city stuff as in >>10937030 but the fact that pic related show up on google means there were different themes not unlike lego/playmobil. there was also a medieval soldier figure image but I can't seem to find it now.

I would love to see the actual sets
Viking/medieval were sets

So far we have these confirmed:
Construction Workers

I assume the cowboy/indian shit has some kinda log fort and some teepees.

The racecar driver throws me for a loop. You think there is a race playset or just like a singular car and figure?

I'm still curious who made them to begin with because it's obviously not k'nex. Must be a supermarket brand that wanted to capitalize on playmobil/lego/megablocks/etc.

YE THE GUY ON THE RIGHT is who I was thinking of. Guess he's more "gladitor" than viking.

Also Manley makes what you think. They make 90s cheapo toys for the supermarket aisles back in the day. Some of them are high quality like these "tot town" fellas

others are...umm...pic related XD
Weird how some have clips and others have hands.
I also remember some similar to those guys, but not exactly. They had slightly longer legs, and single-piece arms similar to the policeman to the left. They were entirely blue except for their flesh head with : ) face and yellow hat.I only remember having a set of three? construction workers and another one that was a farmer I think.
Holy repressed memory, either I or someone I was close friends with had this exact set. The weird clips on the horses brings me back, they had a strange skinny indent if you took them off.

I actually know what you're talking about and I'll try to find it. They are another bootleg of the same vain. Might be a Tonka figurine or old school K'nex. I'll send some pics over and let you browse until we find it. I like this thread and discussing these fun knock-offs

I'm guessing the hands are because some got like little shovels, pickaxes, batons, etc. and others didn't so to save money they just molded hard plastic for some and hands for others like the motorcycle cop to grip the handles. Way to save money on the molding I guess.

Skinny indent?

also this is just a Manley toy thread i guess there is some REALLY weird ones I wanna show off to you guys. Might get a kick out of it?

Might also be Shelcore. Probably not but I just wanna give a special shoutout to these precious little boys
Idgaf that they are basically more playmobile/lego/fisher price knock-offs. I like them.
Hey I had a western cowboy vs indians fort, carriage and tip of these guys

BRO THAT IS LIT AS FUCK. I dunno what is with these toy companies and making wild west forts but I vibe hard with this one. I love the little muskets and shelcore union men

it saddens me how poorly catalogued all these products are so things will just simply get lost in time forever

we need some toy historians

I think making a website or some sort of thread that is all about obscure, old, forgotten toys would be perfect for /toys/

If I started one would you guys be into it?

also posting this playskool set that is also pretty kino. Love their slogan. "Our toys make good friends"
Had other playsets like a park, firestation, etc. You just know that Playskool was trying to cope with the fisher-price little people.

Little figures remind me of those townspeople from Toy Story 3/Disney infinity

I wonder if everyone was just directly piggybacking of lego or it was simply the big themes kids were into. what do zoomers even like?

Gotta say not a big fan of the lil' playmates pirate set. Kinda generic and looks off. Is it supposed to be waterproof for bathtime?

Zoomers like...uhh....dinosaurs, right? I think it's just wanting to compete in the market while offering a product similar but still unique to themselves that kids (and weirdoes like us) will still enjoy for years to come.

It's not like now where you go on wish or alibaba and see BUILD-A-BLOCKS set or nameless lego clones where you can build sexually arousing lego binocile figures

30 bucks on amazon btw
Oh yes thank you! the body is very similar to the blue cop at the top, same hand placement. The construction workers had maybe the same helmet as the right guy, with those stripes running through.
I think however that their bodies were blockier, more square and their arms may have had a slight bend (probably not.). As for the head, I think they used the same mold but a different smile and colour more hinting of Playmobil. In fact, the heads may have been Shelcore altogether.
Also this was in Argentina, probably it was a local knock-off.
Real neat!

I had the Disney Castle one
Why tf is Tinkerbell wearing pink lol? I like it though the trams ar super cool. The disney figures themselves look a bit off

I'll keep looking and lyk if I find any! It's kinda difficult to search. It keeps wanting to give me results for the new fisher price figures. The one with the random hands sticking out. I dunno why but they kinda creep me out? A shellcore figure or a lego minifigure is just a :) that makes you happy but a new fisher price figure is just a human face molded strangely

they are the easiest fleshed out collection of tropes to adapt into generic worlds where you can create your own adventures

zoomers only care about things with a specific brand property. minions, fortnite, minecraft, star wars, disney, nintendo...
I hate to be that guy shitting on the youngest generation but it's genuinely depressing

I had this, still got the truck somewhere.
The village people?
swat transport carrier? Fun! Manley made some astronaut figures/knight figures you might like
this just unlocked an ancient memory in me. wow
I'd like to give a shout out to these Kinder Surprise people. There seemed to be many collections from across different world cultures but I only remember Egyptians.
