Official Marvel Channel released this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5L3DxCOg98

You can see picrel in it. All the other figures used are regular ML, so this means a new She-Hulk? The ponytail is great.
>>
>>11007526
They used a few older figures that they have newer versions of, it's more likely the person making it didn't have another She-Hulk

Unless you think Marvel didn't outsource this LMAO
>>
>>11007526
Nah, that's an old exclusive one, i forgot where though.. She came with her lawyer outfit
>>
>>11007529
It's a kitbash with the Exclusive head and the Blob body.

The fact >>11007526 saw this and thought it was a GOOD new figure is alarming though.
>>
>>11007526
Man you can really tell the Robot Chicken guys only care if they're making it about shit they actually know about and... hey... wait a second
>>
>>11007530
Oh yeah, you are right. The one with the lawyer outfit was a F4 suit.
>>
The SHIELD 3-pack is a pretty good get. Sharon Carter's body can easily be an alt Black Widow Body. The original Headsculpt is great for Sue Storm.

Loads of guns, gun hands and effects too. Only useless figure for me is Dum Dum Duggan because I only wanted Nick Fury and Sharon.

Paying attention to the articulation I can see now it's and older figure. I was just happy to see She-Hulk in the classic leotard instead of some shit new costume.
>>
>>11007542
a new she-hulk in a classic costume literally just came out
>>
Can't decide whether I want this She-Hulk or wait for another. The lack of another head really hurts it for me. It was the same reason I didn't get the Excalibur set. If they are only smiling, very few poses you can put them in. She certainly can't be punching anyone
>>
Now this is a good 2-pack. Is the Wolverine from the Psylocke 2pack as bad as pictures make it look? I might as well get it to have all 3.
>>
>>11007576
>she-hulk wouldn't smile while punching someone

Nice. I've got mine in my PoL but I'm waiting for a few other pre orders before I ship it out. Looking forward to getting it.
>>
Rogue is a cursed character.
>>
>>11007596
It's really weird to me how Rogue became such a big deal to you guys. She was never super prevalent as far as I can think of. Is it really just the coomer angle?
>>
>>11007538
>Not using Dum Dum for white (real) Nick Fury and black (fake) Nick Fury for Gabe Jones
>>
>>11007475
The torso looks awful, they should've just forgone the butterfly joints.
>>
>>11007600
Rogue was definitely popular in the 90's
>>
>>11007603
I don't really remember her being hyped up that much. At least moreso than any other of the X-Girls. I was more of a Psylocke man myself though so maybe I'm biased.
>>
>>11007601
>throwing Dugan out
why not just grab a commander rogers for white fury or just an army builder SHIELD trooper body for Gabe?
>>
>>11007606
>born in 88
Rogue was the most popular character in 1995.
Shit her and Wolverine were fighting to lead the X-Men in the comics back in 2001.
>>
>>11007585
Yes. A smiling head is a must for her. But not if it's the only head. What I mean is there isn't good "synergy" with the other figures. A figure who's smiling that much can only pair well with other smiling figures. What I meant with the Excalibur 3 pack, it was the same issue. Capt Britain mean mugging while Meggan and Kitty look like they are having head shots taken

>>

No it doesn't, the amount of cuts for joints in the shoulder area is too many for all the exposed skin, and the transition down to the abdomen is bad cause the torso is too small. The whole thing looks lumpy.

>>

>>
>>11007729
Imagine just not caring about the aesthetic quality of a product you spend money on. Especially one like this that you know we'll see reused for more characters, leading to more shitty looking figures
>>
>>11007738
It's the dogshit Astonishing run, will never understand why zoomers love this so much
>>
>>11007741
Unfortunately most team completers will just buy a figure of a character from a specific era they need no matter how badly its made. It could probably be a Todd statue and they would still buy it to complete their team.
>>
>>11007736
She will never be a real woman
>>
>>11007742
Is it zoomers? I always thought it was Whedonfags that hyped Astonishing.
>>

I like Wolverine's costume from that era so I'm getting the figure, but I don't have a whole lot of attachment to that team so I'm probably not going to track down Cyclops or anyone else. Also I've never liked Cat Beast to begin with.

The costume is Astonishing yes, but the comic is not Astonishing X-Men.

The 97 hair with the banana locks doesn't feel right. Rogues hair really needs to be curly/wavy to look right in this look to me.
>>
>>11007801
I get you, but the face is just too bad looking for me. I kept the retard eyed Juggernaut wave one for ages because even that was better. The hair consistency isn't as important to me as the face, but that's just me, to each their own.

I don't disagree, but I just don't think it's as big of an issue as you guys are making it out to be. The 97 Rogue some people helped about still has big boobs, they're just not in boob socks. I dunno, I guess I just focus on different things to gripe about like QC, distribution, and stuff like that.

Only face I take a lot of issue with is the "smiling" one. That really doesn't work for the character. The rest of your list im generally in agreement with, including the fact that I'm buying it. Even with the issues it's better than having to settle for one of the MLs.
>>

>>
>>11008108
Those are their own IPs. Hasbro doesn't own Marvel. Licensing eats a big chunk of a toy line's budget.
>>
>>11008131
Doesn't seem to harm Select or any other toy manufacturer in existence.
>>
>>11008134
Selects release FAR fewer figures than Legends. Not really a like for like comparison.
>>
>>11008135
So the costs would be higher. You're out of your element here lol
>>
>>11008136
You guys bitch and moan about these things costing $25. I can only imagine the amount of seething them costing any more would cause.
>>
>>11008138
I regularly say I'd rather them cost $50 and be better quality that I know Hasbro can do. Poorfags ruin everything.
>>
>>11008139
You are regularly a fucking moron then. The line would be long dead if your insane bullshit was implemented.
>>
>>11008139
The thing you want already exists. Imports. They offer exactly what you're looking for, higher quality, more accessories, fewer characters. You can buy those. If Has to were to change the line to $50 premium figures, you wouldn't see the character selection that we do now. Which is kind of the big selling point of ML. You want a higher end toy, buy an import. You have plenty of options.
>>
>>11008143
I have those, they don't release enough. I don't even have a fucking Mafex Tim Drake yet. I'd also rather have less Z listers like Vulcan.

Release half the figures, double the price and up the quality.
>>
>>11008149
You'd get the exact same characters that Mafex releases then. They're not going to do even B or C list tier characters.
>>
>>11008149
>they don't release enough

>>
>>11008161
Okay? I don't mind that.

>>11008162
They don't only make Marvel figures
>>
>>11008167
Then what would the point be of buying them over an import if they cost the same, have similar quality, and offer the same character selection?
>>
>>11008172
Quicker releases than import. If Mafex released two Marvel figures each month I wouldn't have a need for Legends.
>>
>>11008174
You're being incredibly short sighted. What you're asking for, you'd get the same release schedule as Mafex too. A handful of the same characters every other company does. How don't you understand this?

I legitimately think the Psylocke, Jean, and Rogue all have the same head but painted differently. >>
>>11008448
>>11008451 beat me to it. Pleather is more expensive than cloth. I can't think of any other Mafex that comes with pleather soft goods.
>>
>>11008451
How well does pleather hold up, is it prone to flaking and damage?
>>
>>11008457
Depends on the company. I have Mezcos that are years old with pleather and haven't had any flaking. But then I've seen the DMC4 Dante figure who's coat flaked less than a year after release. It just varies. Unfortunately we don't really have any precedent from Mafex from it. Their cloth goods can sometimes have pretty big issues, if that's any indication.
>>
>>11008434
They could have made her look like Grant Gustin so she would at least look white.
>>
What even is the point of giving her a pleather jacket instead of just sculpting it on? She rarely took it off in that costume and I don't think that many people want to pose her on their shelf without it.
>>
>>11008463
Probably to match Gambit.
>>
i have gambit on pre order but not sure if i want him anymore i find that most of the sculpts seem to be the same and i don't get WOW'd as much as i do with each new release like i do with revoltech, storm, s.a.s etc etc etc mafex seem to be going the marvel legends route by giving you mediocre and overused designs
ngl what they've been releasing lately is not worth more than 35 dollars max they barely look better than hasbro most people cant even tell the difference between the 2 when out the box and on a shelf even
>>
>>11008479
Gambit is the one Mafex that's actually worth it though
>>
>>11008479
I admit, I'm more selective on the Marvel side of things I get from them. I don't have any of their X-Men or Avengers since I'm happy enough with my MLs. I do get Spider-Man stuff from them though, I'm getting 2099 and Daredevil, they both look fine to me. As for their DC stuff I'm more invested in them. I have almost the entire Batman Hush line, a handful of their Superman figs, and will probably also go all in with Knightfall,, I already have AzBats and am waiting on Bruce and Bame. I'm pretty happy with what I've gotten DC wise from them, but it could also just be because I have no real other options in the 6in scale. Dying for them to do a Tim Drake already. I'd love if they'd do a Grant Morrison JLA roster too.

Not a zoomer, and not a HUGE fan of the Whedon run, but my recollection of it is this: as an old school X-fan who dropped everything mid-late 90's after Heroes Return/Reborn, as I recall Astonishing was around the time they were trying to course-correct, restart without reading the continuity during those shitty late 90's years, and bring fans back. All I really recall was bringing back Collossus, cat-Beast & a few odds and ends, I haven't read it in what, 20 years? I should go back and re-read it to see if IGAF about building a new collection for it, but all I remember was not hating it.

TL;DR it was better than the late-90's shit that came before it.

Astonishing is the sequel to Morrison's New X-Men run, of which we are still seeing ramifications today. New X-Men was bringing the X-Men firmly into the 21st century. After years of the extreme 90s stories starting to falter, Morrison injected new life into the series by introducing fresh concepts, building upon pre-existing ideas, and overall completely reinventing the X-Men brand. The team went from a super hero team dressed in bright spandex to a rescue and emergency team wearing striking leather outfits. The island nation of Genosha was destroyed by Conssandra Nova, Professor X putted as a mutant, Emma Frost joined the team, Cyclops had his love affair, Beast became a cat. It's truly one of the best X-Men runs out there and I put it right up there with the best of Claremont.

Astonishing is the direct follow-up to that. It builds up similar ideas and themes but is a return to form so to speak. The characters ditch the black leather, wearing modernized super hero costumes, act like super heroes again, and fight more outlandish enemies, an alien warrior race, the Danger Room become sentient, and the concept of a mutant cure. These two runs set the stage for the X-Men for the next decades and even today's Krakoa Story has concepts and ideas that originated from those two runs. These stories are now like 20 years old. They're hardly modern by any means. They're as old as 80s stories as they were when these stories came out.

To do something new and fresh? Breakworld is right up the X-Men's ally in dealing with aliens. Right up there with the Brood and the Shiar. And making the Danger Room sentient was an interesting twist, a villain who knew all the X-Men's weaknesses but at the same time was constrained by her own programming from outright killing them. I can understand it not being for everyone, but it's interesting stuff nonetheless.

Danger lasted a while, but I guess it was more her joining Scott's X-Men during the Schism era. I don't think Breakworld is ever really mentioned again outside the story that brought Kitty back from being stuck in the giant bullet.

WHAT? NO WAY! Comics are doing GREAT! That's why they don't post the sales numbers any more! Seriously though, we're going to see the death of the comics industry in our lifetime. Fucking sad.

As an aside, someone was raving about the new Hallows Eve figure in a prior thread, and I thought I'd try to read a few of her books to see if I gave a shit (the figure looks okay, I don't know the character). It was the same old bullshit hack writing Marvel has become famous for, including the girlboss villain having her male lackey that she can constantly talk down to and belittle. Terrible shit all around, Deus Ex Machina pulling masks out of a bag writing. So I'll skip that figure and just stick with the classics.

>Seriously though, we're going to see the death of the comics industry in our lifetime. Fucking sad.
Honestly, stories have been declining for years. I actually enjoy a good bit of the 2000s era stories, unlike a lot of people, and even I hsbe to day in the 2010s thinfs started reslly going downhill. Fast-forward to today and most comics are borderline unreadable trash. The Krakoa era X-Men started out interesting but Marvel fucked up and wouldn't let Hickman tell his story because they just had to extend the gay hippie orgy cult status quo even though Hickman set it up to be more nefarious than what we actually got. I don't even really keep up with any comics anymore. Maybe the main Batman and Amazing Spider Man books just because I've been reading those literally more than half my life. And those books are trash right now, I'm only reading them out of obligation and I'm just reading them on /co/. Stopped paying for them ages ago.
>>
>>11008753
They look good together. And I gotta say, that MCU Iron Man is a top tier design, he fits right in with the rest of them. Feels like they actually wanted to pay homage to him, unlike modern mcu designs like the Eternals.
>>
>>11008810
>I'm only reading them out of obligation
Sad. Is your time worth nothing to you? I respect you not paying for that trash at least. When it comes to the intentional destruction of fandoms, the antagonistic anti-fan behavior of creators, the Taika Waititi's and their "I'll ruin your mythos in a minute baby" statements, I think the only thing to do is....just walk away. Let there be an end to the horror. Just walk away. But seriously, these parasites thrive on attention and you're giving it to them.

You may not be buying the books, but are you supporting the merchandise they spawn? Did you reward them by buying a Hallows Eve action figure? Chasm? etc etc?

Obligation. When Marvel has given us SO MANY jumping off points in their publishing history. Mine was Secret Wars 3 and their universe reboot.
>>
>>11008819
>Sad. Is your time worth nothing to you
I have plenty of free time and they're 22 page comics. It takes like a combined 20 minutes to read both of them. You don't need to be so overly dramatic. I just catch storytimes on /co/.

>When it comes to the intentional destruction of fandoms, the antagonistic anti-fan behavior of creators, the Taika Waititi's and their "I'll ruin your mythos in a minute baby" statements, I think the only thing to do is....just walk away
I just actively ignore that shit and like you said, just don't read the stuff that bugs me. The most recent DD run for instance, I thought was good so I read it. But pretty much everything else modern Marvel puts out I've outright just dropped. Now I just reread all the stories I do enjoy and am much happier just ignoring the culture war bullshit I can't be bothered to care about.

>But seriously, these parasites thrive on attention and you're giving it to them.
Reading ASM when it's storytimed on /co/ is hardly giving them attention. I say again, stop being so overly dramatic. They're just funny books.

>You may not be buying the books, but are you supporting the merchandise they spawn? Did you reward them by buying a Hallows Eve action figure? Chasm? etc etc?
I got the Spider-Man Beyond figure because I like the design. But no, I'm not buying figures from storylines I otherwise don't like or care about.

>Obligation. When Marvel has given us SO MANY jumping off points in their publishing history. Mine was Secret Wars 3 and their universe reboot.
Jeez dude. Get off my cock. I'm just catching storytimes on /co/. Stop trying to tell me what to do you sutismo.

Is the Kitty Pryde from the Juggernaut BAF wave supposed to be from the "Astonishing X-Men" era?
>>
>>11008847
She can be used in an Astonishing lineup but technically her costume is slightly different, with the yellow boots and the way the yellow part on the torso is cut. It's technically from after she came back from being stuck in the bullet at the end of Astonishing. She wore it mainly during the Bendis ere.

Between the all these recent ugly Rogue figures, the Marvel Legends versions are looking better every day. And they only cost 25 bucks.
>>
>>11009450
Rogue finally made /toy/ accept that Marvel Legends aren't terrible. The debate over who's the strongest superhero has now been settled.
>>
>>11009436
That shit is an overpriced oversized pile of trash. The mafex is at least 75 bucks if you aren't stupid enough to buy it from bbts
>>
>>11009462
But the Mafex is also an overpriced pile of trash. Fortunately, in either case, you'll be able to flip either one of these figures to desperate coomers for double what you payed. The lesson here is that there are no good toy companies and action figures that cost that much are generally not much better than the cheaper alternatives, no matter what coping shills will try desperately to have you believe.
>>
>>11009470
What I don't get about the Mafex is that people blame Disney being woke for the Rogue figure turning out so manly and ugly. If that's the case then why did Disney allow the Mondo figure to have basically a porn star body?
>>
>>11009475
Disney has nothing to do with any of these decisions. The SJW thing is just schizos being afraid of the monster in their closet. The Mafex being what it is is due to laziness and the company being cheap. All they did was reuse parts from the other female X-Men figures.

>Figure has accurate proportions based on the era it is inspired upon
> “this figure is great”
Well who would have guessed it? Now all hasblo needs to do is have this mindset moving forward. Away with the wacky small shoulders and flat chests and more of this please.
>>
>>11009625
Pretty much. The only issue there that looks bad to me is the missing paint on the white part of her hair. But that would be simple enough to touch up. That messed up face in that collage came from a different figure, the face on the example in most of those pictures was pretty nice overall.
>>
>>11009648
Ah bloo bloo bloo.
>>
>>11009648
But she doesn't, she has small tits and no ass and Shulkie was definitely drawn with those in that era
>>
>>11009641
Shartimus said it's less noticeable in person. I'm fairly colorblind and the pictures bother me.

you pathetic virgins don't even read comics
>>
>>11009737
This whole "posting one off panels that support my argument" really needs to stop. Comic art is so inconsistent that no matter the argument, you'll be able to cherry pick images that will support your claim and vice versa. I agree with you personally about She Hulk, but I think the posting comic panels needs to stop.
>>
does everyone else's she-hulk have incredible weak ankles and hips? annoying
>>
>>11009754
Hips on mine are fine but yeah the ankles are loose. Also to the anon asking about the smell, yeah she does smell a bit like paint. Not as bad as SHF Spike Spiegel but along the same lines.
>>
>>11009398
kek, the vietnamese kid messed up the panel line and had to repaint over the mistake. $200 figure by the way. 1/6 collectors deserve this shit. pretentious idiots think paying more means superior, lol. They're as bad a funko shitters.
>>
>>11009641
This is true. I was worried about it, but it's fine in person.
>>
>>11009774
>pretentious idiots think paying more means superior, lol.

Agreed. I say the same thing about idiots who buy Mafex even though every single release besides Gambit is inferior to their 25 dollar counterparts.
>>
>>11009784
I get both cuz I'm not poor like you
>>
>importfags so insecure that they have to call anyone who criticizes them poor

>>
Why do we have to do console wars every fucking time? The truly Chad and based collector mixes and matches the best from all 1/12 lines anyway.
>>
>>11009790
Why would I need 2 rogues? The legends one is much more voluptuous compared to the stick man proportions of the mafex, so not really an upgrade. Honestly some of you guys are idiots and will buy literal shit because (insert brand name) made it.
>>
>>11009790
t. pretentious idiot that thinks paying more means superior, lol.
>>
I own the Mafex Wolverine, Brown Suit Wolverine, Psylocke, Magneto, Storm, Gambit, and Cyclops.

But I will not buy Rogue. She looks terrible, just like the Jean Grey release.
>>
>>11009816
Hopefully we get a 2.0 release for Rogue eventually.
>>
>>11009816
Same, i have all the xmen except jean cause of her fucking face.
>>
>>11009811
The Legends one is superior in every way except for the fact that Mafex has a soft jacket and articulated toes. You could also say that about the old Toy Biz Rogue, though.
>>
>>11009823
Yeah. Everyone bitches about the bodies on these female figures but it's their awful faces that kills them. Someone said Rogue looks like Ezra Miller. And they're right.
>>
>>11009450
>>11009457
Other figures having problems doesn't suddenly make other bad figures good. That's prequelfag logic.

Isn't that the point? That comics and even panels can be so inconsistent that you can nitpick things all day? It may not be spot on but I still see She-Hulk in the figure. Her boobs don't even look bad to me. They could be bigger but they still look like tits on a strong lady instead of what a real life female body builder looks like. Not saying said complaints are invalid, just that they're not a big deal to me compared to lack of ab crunch.

Speaking of Hulk I asked earlier but didn't see any responses. Any idea of a good neutral head for the Selects Immortal Hulk?

>>11009891
Maybe I'm retarded but I just do not see Ezra in the Mafex Rogue head. I just see Rogue.

Yes. The point is these figures are never going to look like any one panel or interpretation and nitpicking various panels to try and support whatever argument is going on is fruitless imo.

One of their most desired figures is on a reused body from eight years ago. It's going for over $150 on the aftermarket.

That's the monkey's paw of Jim Lee style figures. These are meant to be comic accurate, not cartoon accurate. Jim Lee only knows how to draw one face.
