>>11138712Was this Professor X expensive second hand? I got him the first time so I never really paid attention to it.
Retro Gobbo
>>11138712Already have him, but it wouldn't hurt to see if this is legit. I just want to see if they'll use the new face tech on him.>>11138714100 or over in the aftermarket but the hype of xmen '97 helped
>>11138712Has anyone painted the chair to make it not look like cheap mcdonalds happy meal shit?
>>11138718They're also up on Pulse and EE as well. Black Series reissued a bunch of stuff too and have been for a little bit now. Not surprising to see ML follow suit. Previously when Chuck was just rumored, it was only GameStop that had the listing, no where else listed him. Now he seems to be up on multiple sites.
>>11138718>I just want to see if they'll use the new face tech on him.Doubt, these reissues tend to be exactly the same as the old ones.
>>11138715Are you kidding me. I was about to sell my unopened one for $90. Fuck you Hasbro, you better be reissuing the animated series WM exclusive spiderman at this point.
>>11138715He looks pink
>>11138754Hi scalper-san. You should switch to mcfarlanes. He doesn't do true reissues. There are always differences. Plus you can get in on the platinum speculation game
>>11138754I actually found one of ghose figures, kinda wish i hadnt since now im buying spidermans a plenty.
>>11138778Yes, the one carded gobby I had and didn't bother opening since I got the Animated series VHS 2pack instead counts as scalping to poorfags.
>>11138778That isn't really scalping. That's selling something at its current market value. This figure came out how many years ago now? Scalping is where you are going around, buying up an item, so you can charge higher than what the normal market value, in the case of currently releasing toys, MSRP. He isn't doing anything wrong, other than waiting too long to offload his.
>>11138712Holy s***! A Single Marvel General on all of /toy/? It must be the LSD.
Folks last thread were talking about a MvC2 Venom, is that something actually in the works?
>>11138784Buying a just released figure and immediately selling it on ebay for 50 bucks is also selling something for its current market value, since current market value is just whatever some idiots are willing to pay for it.
>>11138792Supposedly as per the leaks. I'm willing to bet it will be the recently released Venom in blue (obviously) and with a new headsculpt. MAYBE pinless tech, though don't quote me on that.
$50 for the professor X (just a normal suit body repaint with a head they already had) and a hover chair with zero paint on it in dirt cheap moulded plastic is criminal.
>>11138793Selling a toy you can currently purchase at an actual retailer for MSRP at a higher price than that MSRP is scalping. Simple as. Selling a toy that is not currently in production and can't be found at normal retailers is not scalping.
>>11138807ok
>>11138807Stop buying as that is literally the only thing Hasbro listens to. As long as they keep releasing garbage it means someone is buying the garbage
>>11138807He was $45 originally back when he came out in like 2018 or whenever it was. $5 increase isn't terrible considering inflation.
>>11138810So now it isn't about market value but is instead about whether someone could buy the figure for msrp from somewhere else. But the issue is if the figure is sold out everywhere due to scalpers buying them all then you can't currently purchase at an actual retailer, so therefore do the scalpers no longer become scalpers? Also many actual retailers have taken to selling figures over msrp because they want in on the scalping game. Gundam Universe Deathscythe EW which just came out just jumped from the MSRP of $25 to $28 as sold by Amazon themselves just because they know they can
>>11138826What are you even trying to argue here? You know as well as anyone that selling a toy, years after it has gone out of print, for higher than it's original MSRP, isn't scalping, which was what this original argument was about. Now shut the fuck up you "UM AKCHUALLY" faggot.
>>11138821The $45 is nuts too. Least they can do at this price is make his hover chair not look happy meal tier with some paint/detailed sculpting
>>11138830No I contend that it is indeed still scalping no matter how much later you sell the figure. And I am pointing out the inconsistencies of using either market value or if you can buy it at a retailer as metrics for what is or is not scalping.
>>11138852$45 isn't a lot of money.>>11138862You're stupid then.
>>11138863Hello, Dan. Please stop marketing and defending your prices here as well as supporting immoral scalpers looking to profit off your toys
>>11138862>>11138830I would argue that it's about the intent of the seller. Scalping is purchasing something for the explicit purpose of re-selling it at a higher price in the future. Scalpers know exactly who they are and it is different from a guy who just happens to have a valuable figure lying around. Still, that same guy COULD be a scalper if he was just waiting all those years for the demand to creep up from the start.
>>11138862So if you had something you want to sell that's in demand and out of print, you'd be happy to sell it at msrp, knowing that the person buying it will probably turn right around and sell it at markup, all so you could take the moral highground?
>>11138778>mcfarlane… dude made a bearded version of The Deep instead of Aqua Man
>>11138870(You)>>11138875I mean sure, I guess if the person deliberately went around buying up as much stock as he could then play the long game. But clearly that's not what happened with the original guy who wanted to offload his Gobbo.
>>11138880Holy kek it really does look like him
>>11138889I mean, I specifically acknowledged that the original guy was not scalping his Gobbo, I'm just giving my 2 cents about what constitutes scalping since we seem to have a philosophical debate here.
>>11138896Yeah, I agree with you. Intent is a big factor into scalping. I don't know why that other guy is getting his panties all wadded.
Got my retro card venom. I should've known better but oh well. Gummy piece of shit like every other legend I've bought. Never again.
>>11138876Nah I'd scalp that shit, bra. But I don't need the money so it'd be more trouble selling on ebay than it was worth. Unless it was somehow worth like 6 figures
>>11138863$45 for a nice meal? No. For this low effort figure? Yes
>>11138807It is actually pretty insane when you consider the old one had paint and a wash, even came with a comic, too.
>>11138928These people will defend anything including their own pockets being picked.
>>11138928Hasbro knows they can get away with anything since its Professor X. They know IP is the chains they have around those of you who have to complete teams. You would pay 100 bucks for a Professor X if they demanded it.
>>11138928>Marvel Universe>3.75 inch>a literal peace of cardboard yeah how insane
>>11138914>I don't think it's worth it so it must not beThe people willing to pay that price for it beg to differ. No one is forcing you to buy it, but to make a big deal about a $50 toy, come on bro.
>>11138934You sure like making up things to be mad about
You posted these last thread. At least take some new pictures.
Got my retro card venom. I knew it'd be great, but I'm loving it! Awesome figure like every other legend I've bought. Definitely'll get more.

>>11139079Why would you want people to doxx themselves?
>>11139013>>11139020what happen?
Closest I could get with just balancing the head on the neck. He still can't quite crouch down as much as the in game sprite but it's close.
>>11139217Aren't people disturbed by the shiny, plasticky finish of so many Marvel Legends? I really feel like a matte finish is superior and looks more like a collectible.
>>11139217>balancing the head on the neckgrim
why cant we get a venom that looks like this? i think the closest was the one that came in the two pack with knull.
>>11139230>Do you guys want me to make more Venom feet?
>>11139221No, we're not autistic like you.
>>11139221Some are more matte than others I feel. For Venom though, wouldn't you want him to be shinier?
>>11139221>Aren't people disturbed by the shiny, plasticky finishAh yes, classic Matt finish Symbiote Venom, yup, not shiny and slimy at all.
>>11139221Venom is a goo monster. Way to not read comics.
>>11139285Wow, a Black Cat with no ass or cleavage, Hasbro would be proud
>>11139274>>11139285what the fuck's your problem, bud?
>>11139026Have you read the comics? He is an idiot, and that's a good thing.
>>11139217I fiddled with him a little more. Moved the legs up more and whittled a little more away on the head. Even if it's not spot on I can more than tell what pose it's portraying. Only thing I want them to change for the MvC Venom is to do the balljoint on the neck better. >>11139221I agree for normal figures but for an Iron Man or Venom shiny makes sense. I do wish they'd do some blue shading like the Mafex and classic Toybiz figures though. That shit is always cool. >>11139230Isn't this basically Knull Venom?
>>11139413knull venom had creepy toed feet and two giant stupid holes in his back, but yeah so far it's the best ML venom.
>>11138714I played the long game with him and got him from Walmart for $21, but I had it shipped to store and they put it in that dumb automated locker tower thing at the front of the store and it had malfunctioned so I had to wait a week for someone to come in and fix it before I could get it. They got rid of it not that long after.
>>11139413Knull Venom is huge compared to that one. It's movie Venom painted like comic Venom
Thor vs Destroyer Is on sale on amazon if anyone has been waiting.

>>11139813Why would I lie? Use reverse image search.
>>11139742Also, if you read the actual thread on reddit, they're all talking about how Ross doesn't have price stickers like that, and that they think OP is lying. So fucking weird.

>>11140043Yep, that's what I did.
>>11140022No. I mean accidentally posting information with your real name or picture on it. We've had someone lost his father's office with his nameplate in the photo. Yesterday some nonce posted his IG with his face on it.
Just picked up this Deadpool figure. His fucking left leg barely goes up as if there's something in way and it slowly drops back down. Everything else moves fine. Hid left foot was stuck, but after messing with it it moves freely now. What do?
>>11140344Should've waited for the single release of the newer/better one coming later.
>>11140344You can heat the leg up and pop it off at the ball joint and see if there's an issue with the ball itself. Other than that, you may want to contact Hasbro or whoever you purchased it from and try to exchange it.
>>11140361I'll take a look at the joint then. Use a blow dryer or something to heat it up?
>>11140376Yeah, hot water works too. Just something to heat the part up to soften the plastic so it'll let you pop the leg off without damaging the figure.
How easy is it to pull the arms out of the body on modern legends like the 97/vhs lines? Debating if I want to give my 97 Cyclops the jacket off the vhs morph or keep them as is. The chances of fucking either up would tip me in either direction
The paint job on the renders...

I dunno, there's just something about it I don't like as much as the RYV one. Plus I like the colors a bit mroe on RYV. What's your favorite Spidey figure Marvel Gen? If we're including imports, it might be a tie between the AY 2.0 and Mafex for me. I prefer the Mafex's costume, but the AY 2.0 is just a damn good figure.
>>11143088The next time a spider-man movie comes out they’ll probably do another comic red and blue spider-man hopefully they redo the raft Spider-Man on the RYV body that’s precisely what I want
Kinda agree with some of you anons on the arm veins with venom. Its not and awful deal but i kinda wanna swap them out.
>>11143106>I think the neck being the old ball and hinge setup really hurts it.I actually prefer the hinge and disc neck because it gets better range looking up and the RYV neck barbell gaps up so much.
maybe someday Hasbro will figure out how to bring the articulated necks from their other lines into Marvel Legends and we can get a Spidey with swappable necks for unmasked heads.
>>11143140Why when people will still buy the crap?
take me back
>>11143140It's more likely than not a budget thing. They've done separate neck pieces for certain figures when they can. But higher part count means more money spent and since they budget their figures out by wave, they cut corners. It's also because of those budget restraints that they need to rely on reuse like they do, but because this line has been around for so long, they have older engineering for reuse. Compare that to something like GI Joe Classified, a line that has just as much reuse as ML, but with newer engineering because the line is much newer. It's just the nature of the beast when it comes to these large companies.
>>11142754I've grown numb to overpriced human figures, but Mattel's just been hitting it out of the park lately with the HC figures. I can never look at big creatures like Lockjaw again and not think that Mattle could do it for cheaper and with better articulation. Still annoys me to no end that you had to spend 150 bucks to get the BAF sabertooth when Mattel could have done it for $15 to $20.
>>11143205Wait, what BAF Sabretooth?
>>11143218the Zabu they put out earlier this year. Probably should have said that instead of Sabertooth since there's an actual character called Sabertooth
>>11143209Crybully posts like this make my day.
>>11143143Hasbro already knows that their customers don’t pose their toys or know simple anatomy. Simply put, Legendfags are casual toy collectors.

Can't believe how cheap I got this and the fact it isn't more in demand.

>>11143345>>11143346They've made a bunch of Deapools over the years so demand for a figure of him wasn't exactly high, especially a kind of lame release of just his pants being down.

This little nigga is just as annoying as an actual shill for Hasbro.

>>11143398Lmfao at this point bootlegs from aliexpress are cheaper and 90% of the way there to the imports they're ripping off and make for better deals than most of the shit hasbro pumps out
>>11143134The Retro/RYV neck is one of the most laughably incompetent design choices I've ever seen on a toy. FFS Hasbro it isn't difficult, just stop burying the lower ball so deep into the neck so that it has room to move.
>>11143419Hasbro pumps out so many figures that the used stuff is valueless I got picrel at a comic book shop the other day for $10 you just gotta be smart about it
This is the Marvel thread you guys, not the Transformers one....
>>11143451Yeah sorry idk why I’m defending hasbro so much big cooperations do in fact suck
>>11143453You care way too much about the big corporation and not enough about the toys, bruh.
At least Hasbro is the enemy of resellers with these reissues. Todd still refuses to do straight reissues of stuff he screwed up on as far as production numbers

Is getting Whitney off ebay yeah or nah? She looks kind of naff, but I don't know what is the issue to fix.
>>11143777>>11143793I like the new head myself, but I'm still partial to the alt head from the Absorbing Man Wave Venom. It's still the best tongue out head they've done imo.
>>11143088Videoman and Lightray when?
>>11143339Because actual discussion is futile when the answer is so easy.>>11143451Y'know what I call this trio? Captain America and The Other Fellas
I'm not a fan of Venom being slobbering, drooling monster with an alien tongue.
>>11143865So, you're an Agent Venom fan?
>>11143865The original Todd version is the good one, part of why I wish the Mafex was just as bit bigger.
>>11143865Same, which is strange because he's had the alien tongue 90% more than not. Like the arm veins. Although I don't know if people draw him with either anymore
>>11143864Sam, Steve, and Bucky. Just use their actual names.

Eww why does the new Lilith have pupils?
>>11143754Why the small feet?
>>11143752Lovely mods especially the teeth paintjob I gave him a neck groove if you can carve a pumpkin you can carve plastic gonna hit it with a glass file to make it smooth
>>11138862What if it's a toy that you've had in your collection for 25 years, and now you're looking to downsize, so you're going to sell it for today's fair market value. If you've got an original carded Boba Fett, you're under no obligation to sell him for the $2 you spent on him in 1981
If the leaks are correct and we get a silver samurai and wolverine two pack, would it likely be a reissue of the existing Silver Samurai or a new one? What's hasbro's track record on this?
>>11143968I don’t think it looks that bad, but you might have had better results by running the plastic under hot water for a couple minutes and then using a hobby knife for a cleaner cut. Still, using a glass file like you mentioned should clean it up pretty well and it’s not even a noticeable area.
>>11144042new Silver Samurai with an old Logan if I had to guess. I think all of the 50th 2-packs for Wolverine have been like that except for Patch and Joe Fixit.
Do you guys think that marvel legends intentionally refuses to give us actual perfect rendition of characters because it would kill their business in the long run? I mean instead of giving us incremental updates on figures, why not just make it the best as it can be and sell variants based on that.
>>11144058>Do you guys think that marvel legends intentionally refuses to give us actual perfect rendition of characters because it would kill their business in the long run?YesIt's why you have to buy a $70 multipack to get a new Spider-Man with all the hands
>>11144060>with all the handswell I dont mean accessories necessarily, I'm talking more about articulation and sculpts. I wouldn't mind if they did what jada are doing with extra accessories attached to repaints.
>>11144064they seem to be testing that with the new ATSV Spider-Punk since he comes with an unmasked head for the old figure.
>>11144064With Jada it's slightly more understandable since palette swaps is how games handle a P2 character, there are some people who prefer those colors. Repaints on Legends are lazy for the most part.
>>11144085And comic costume variants are basically pallete swaps. But it's ok when Jada does it right? You may call me a Hasbro bootlicker but you're a Jada simp. And that's even gayer.
>>11144042>>11144055Silver Samurai doesn't need a new figure, the one we have is already one of the best Marvel Legends. The only things it could do with are pinless limbs and the armour fully painted.
>>11144116You're right, you can totally get the Old Man Logan look from Wolverine just by repainting it and nothing else! The one Jada toy I own totally negates the 220+ Legends lol
>>11144116>But it's ok when Jada does it right?Jada’s figures are near perfect. Just need very minor changes to get more range in the arms. Hasbro chooses to repaint shitty sculpts like the sunfire mold and still use outdated articulation schemes. There’s a difference.
>>11144191Lol, lmao even. Nothing in existence is perfect or near perfect. I can list several flaws with Jada Street Fighter off the top of my head, shitty face printing, inconsistent coloring and paint (jaundice Ryu), plastic quality that is no different than Hasbro's, and some of the shittiest distribution this side of NECA. Yeah, the figures have a good articulation scheme and nice range of movement, but they're far from near perfect. Stop simping for them, it's weird.
>>11144147I mean you're not wrong but I'm the same breath Sy,biore Spidey could just be a repaint of red and blue Spidey. Sure there are exceptions, but most of the time comic costumes are skin tight spandex unitards.
>>11144222lmao triggered
>>11144244I accept your concession

>>11144277looks like the source material to me
>>11144284You need to update your prescription
>>11144294go buy some marvel legends
>>11143884He hasn’t had the arm veins in the comics since the 90s. Dunno why Hasbro made the new one have them; we already got them with the 3-pack one and the TAS one, and they have the Warpath arms which do not have the veins.
>>11144297You're kind of bad at this anon.
>>11144310shut up, retard
>>11144277Those look so bad
>>11144277That figure adds a whole different definition to the term crotch rot
>>11144306>Why did Hasbro make Venom look like he did when he was in comics that sold millions instead of hundreds?
>>11144277I like the whole set I’m buying all 4 of them David looks fucking spot on they just fucked up Lucy’s hairline
>>11144036You're not obligated but you are still scalping
>>11144064>>11144058Depends on what you mean by the best sculpts and articulation. Sculpts are naturally subjective. Some will be too muscular in someone's eyes, some will look plain and boring to another's. Some people demand everything be raised, the webbing, eyes, etc. Some will freak out if a character is too muscular and want more nuances. Some prefer more realistic faces, others want cartoonish faces and simplified faces. One figure can't be the best sculpt to everyone. Engineering is more objective but frankly ML team doesn't have time for making the articulation work perfectly because they shit these figures out so fast its not going to leave a lot of refinement time. And their basic design and articulation system gets in the way of these being the best per se since they simply aren't designed around import articulation schemes
