Did anyone else get their shipping notice? I ordered mine from Planet Steel Express and they just marked my order as "shipped". They were listed for July, and from PSE, they were listed as being released on September. Are they actually already on the way?Apollo and Argus are on the way. Exclusive redecos of these two should be revealed around September, and from then on we should be ready to get new reveals for more remolds, as well as entirely new sculpts and accessory packs.
Quite a few images here: http://www.chaihezi.com/node/127035Chinese video review of the two: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAuVK4kBrkgVangelus first look: https://vangelus.ca/2018/04/18/prototype-playtime-06-astrobots-apollo-toy-notch-x-toy-forge/
>>7015984I pre-ordered an Apollo frown toynotch and got a paypal email last week with a tracking number, but it didn't work with anything I tried. I figured I'd give it some time to update, I wasn't expecting anything until next month anyway.
I preordered Argus directly from Toy Notch but no shipping notice yet. These pics are making me hype
If you think about it, these are just as much display stands as they are action figures
I'm happy to see early samples have looked crisp and solid. The designs on their own are great but the finger spreading articulation took me over the edge. Still just getting the Argus since I'm not big on the blue/orange colors but we'll see what else they show.
>>7016512I'm not exactly wild about the blue and orange either, but the Skull head is so much better than the weird one on the black and orange bot. And besides, the black and orange was kinda boring to me.My greatest wish is that this desert colorway gets a release. With the cape, please.
So this reminded me to check my account on toynotch for the shipping and it says it was shipped on the 21st. That site it recommended to me to track my shipment is really shitting itself.
>>7016516I like that head too (although I prefer Argus'), if they ever released a white-on-black skeleton deco I'd bite
I wasn't ready to be fucking excited for new figures until the end of next month, but my Argus is already half way here according to the tracking.
Looks like they really are on the way! First ones have landed in China! http://bbs.xiaot.com/thread-4840618-1-1.html
>>7016618Did these fuckers actually include batteries? Real nice of them.
>>7016780Nevermind, only chinamen get free batteries.
>>7016782Ya, some form of international law prevents them having batteries in the packaging. I ordered from a Chinese store, so maybe I'll get sent one with batteries? Guess I'll report in when I get them. Ordering directly from Toy Notch would still be the best deal, but I ended up only spending about 10 CAD more than I would have from them (Apollo was sold out at the time), so a pair of batteries each would help offset that a bit, ha.
>out of stockI hate this hobby
>>7016866Here you go friend. In stock, and actually a bit under 59.99USD. A bit more on the shipping front though. http://www.planetsteelexpress.com/brands/Toy-Notch.html
>>7016866>>7016872Oh crap just checked and they only have 1 Argus and 6 Apollo left. Hop on Argust asap if you want him. It seems like taobao has him pricier, so perhaps they're receiving less of him, or maybe he's just more popular.
>>7016883Revised... 6 Apollo and 9 Argus.
>>7016780>>7016782>>7016853>batteries not includedOh, I feel the pain already. I have been having a fucking headache trying to buy button cell batteries (both online and in person) that aren't DOA. Apparently, there's an epidemic with retailers selling old stock that has lost most or all of their juice, and there doesn't seem to be a 100% reliable way to tell before buying (checking the date sure doesn't work).I've been trying to replace all the batteries in my toys, and I've probably bought literally dozens of batteries now that were dying or dead upon opening.
>>7016872You are a legend, sir.
Got a paaaackage
>>7021023BATTERIES FUCKING INCLUDED. I ordered direct from Toy Notch btw
>>7021028V easy access thank god. I won't pull out a screwdriver for batteries to save my life
>>7021029His eyes are so nice and bright, just push the head down a smidge. It's on a ~10 sec timer
>>7021031He can wrap his mitts mainly around oversized 1/12 guns
>>7021034The other guys is fine idk I don't like his look. His eyes are nowhere near bright enough
>>7021035His wrist cannons are removable
>>7021017Oh dang, what country are you in to get it so fast? Mine looks like it did loop de loops in china for a week before it made it out.
>>7021055Ordered direct from Toy Notch day 1, delivered to Los Angeles. Being West Coast for sure helps with imports.
>>7021091Damn, there is no lie between their promos and the final product. I also ordered day one. According to the tracker, it's finally one it's way from china to the states.
>>7021071Los Angeles here too, got mine today as well. And it may be the best toy I get this year, it's completely satisfying. Well, I'd have liked a calf or ankle swivel, but that's about it.
Has anyone else ordered directly from Toy Notch and NOT received a shipping notice yet? I ordered on April 19.
>>7021448Did you check their site directly? They don't send you an email.
>>7021465I'm confused then, I don't see anywhere to log into the site....
>>7021486It's really weird, I had to add something to my cart to even get a login option. If you paid with paypal they might have sent you an email too.
>>7021486Just add login after the website. Although I have no idea how to login
>>7021632I guess I never registered an account ?
>>7021632I got to the login via >>7021531 but it doesn't recognize my email, so I'm thinking I must have checked out as a guest without creating an account. All I have is my PayPal receipt from when I first preordered, I'll email them if it doesn't show up in a few days
Checked my PayPal transaction under "fluke enterprises LTD" but it didn't have a tracking number
>>7021643Same, I'm guessing everything's fine
>>7021688Same anon here about the finding tracking thing. I emailed them when I saw this thread like an hour ago and they responded already with tracking. Fucking excited.
>>7021045What is that dual barrel gun on his fist and where did you get it?
>>7021899It comes with Argus, the big black bot.
>>7021901Oh, I didn't realize either of them came with accessories. Oh well, don't regret choosing Apollo, I like his head and torso much more, and I'm even warming up to the color scheme.
>>7021071>>7021913I went with apollo and I'm already regretting not getting both.
>>7021763Hmm alright I got bored and emailed them as well. Weird thing is that unlike you I never got an confirmation email from Toy Notch, just the PayPal receipt.Anyway, I was wondering if you could pull off a convincing gorilla posture and apparently you can.
This is one of those lazy photoshops where you just drag the "hue" slider around but I would have easily bought Apollo in these colors
>>7022361Perfect pose for Argus.>>7022375I’d say that you could probably do this as a custom, but these guys look crazy prone to paint scratching off.
Just got my Apollo today and he's awesome. Highly recommended. Build quality and joints are great.
>>7021331You mentioning that is the first I noticed. He's just so good that not having those isn't really hindering at all.>>7021486It's a ball ache, I searched Toynotch through my emails and went through there.>>7022361Did you paint yours already?I feel like some Pacific Rim designs lend themself to clunky 1/12
mine's out for delivery today
>>7022427The lack of calf/ankle swivel mostly comes to light when you try wide stances. You sort of need to turn his feet outwards for some poses, which doesn't give him a lot of support from falling forward if you've got him hunching. It's a small nitpick, but a nitpick nonetheless--a swivel there would have helped his leg poses look more natural, too. While I'm nitpicking, a deeper forward ab crunch would have been nice...but again, this is a very small complaint for a near-perfect figure.
>>7023608So no problems with the legs kicking out at an angle instead of straight forward/back? That's pretty much the only thing I'm worried about.
>>7023892Different anon but that's also a thing, although it doesn't get in the way at all unless you want them to sit with their legs straight out and feet touching. The one thing I feel is missing is a forward/backward wrist tilt (for sword holding poses etc)
>>7023892No, that's also an issue, it effectively has v-cut hips above the swivel hinge joint. But it's not as easy of a fix as adding a calf swivel or better ab crunch--it has to do with the look of the figure itself. You would need to change the whole hip design. But anyway, the problem is not as bad here as on some other v-cut hip figures. If I sit him down with his legs going straight out, the angle between his legs is less than 90 degrees, closer to 45 in fact.
Anyone got the exact height of them?Preferably Apollo. Also, how easy would it be to take these guys apart? A lot of visible screws? I want to paint mine if I get one.
>>7024666They are the exact same toy, everything different on the black one if just parts pegged in (idk if removable) with a few exceptions
>>7024700Shins and feet, chest, shoulder armour, crotch, and head are all different. The only pegged in parts are Argus's hand blasters, and those are removable.
>>7025299No the chest is the exact same, it's just two chunks glued in to peg holes. Same with the two back panels. You are correct about the head and bottom half. The shoulders are also just different pinned on pieces.Point is, it's the exact same figure.
>>7025299Actually the shins are also just a new part pinned on to the original legs. You can see where they pin in on Apollo.
>tracking number on the chinese site says it only just left china three days ago>today it updates with a USPS number and apparently it's been in the states for a week and it's coming tomorrowWell alright, I guess. Can anyone who has it already say how easily it comes apart? I'm really excited about the printable armor sets and I'm curious about how much of a pain in the ass it'd be to swap them out. Or if they even kept that gimmick, they didn't really go into a lot of detail.>>7026351OK, who's the sex machine on the right?
>>7026702The figure with the armor is much smaller and different proportionally. If you have a 3D printer, you'll have to print the skeleton first and then the armor, both of which you'd have to buy the blueprints for. The figure in the picture is the Oubu Perfect Body from Sentinel. Pricey Bastard.
>>7026948So is this figure not going to be produced and sold? The only way to get him is to print him yourself?
>>7028165They could be. They did show them off in their comic they posted on Facebook. For now they’re print only.
My apolo showed up today, and I have to say this is one of the nicest figures i've gotten in a while. My only problem is the paint is a bit thin in places.
>>7028339Mine too, and I'm similarly impressed. There are a couple things I'd like, but its really solid and the articulation is very close to perfect. This is VERY nice for what was apparently a one-man show design wise. Also if the problem with the legs kicking out to the side bugs you, it can be fixed by just turning the waist around 180, then they kick straight forward. I think the molding on the waist looks better pointed that way too, I just need to figure out how to swap the feet.
>>7028501In stuff that'd never happen, I'd love to see this guy tackle some of the robotic overwatch characters. Throw a new head and another set of legs on apollo and you've basically got orisa.
>>7028508>fucking 10 second timer on the eye lights fuck
>>7028508Bastion is already covered even though he isn’t perfect. I’ve said this before but if they’d cover Reinhardt, I’d be ecstatic.
Ordered an Argus off of bbts, these guys very quickly went to my "I'll buy whatever they make" tier. Definitely light on accessories, but this is a whole lot of toy for $60. >>7028518Yep, I need to do some shots with Apollo and that bastion, I think they'd look nice together. And yeah, a rein in the same style as these would be amazing, the size, articulation and quality is perfect.
How's the grip strength?
my apollo arrived missing its battery cover and now i have to contact toynotch to get a replacement. has anyone else run into this?
>>7028508Where'd you get that awesome chainsword?
>>7028605The fingers aren't particularly strong individually, but if you can get all five in something it'll hold well enough.>>7029324It came with that Chinese improved ko of the titanfall guy. He came with a gun that Apollo would probably look good with too, but damned if I can find it now.
So which do you guys prefer? I was only able to grab apollo due to argus being sold out. I haven't gotten him yet but I think I prefer the design more.
>>7026702https://www.ebay.com/itm/RIOBOT-Bubuki-Buranki-Oubu-Perfect-Ver-Non-Scale-PVC-ABS-Painted-Action-Fi/282990556908?hash=item41e38d36ec:g:E1IAAOSw945bETbcHe varies in price, I combined him with an Ebay coupon and got him for $100. He's a gorgous piece, but as a toy has some problems. His waist ball joint disconnects too easily. But heeeee's soooo nice
>>7029466Where'd you get that Knockoff Titanfall guy at?
I regret not getting this. Hoping a second wave comes out.
>>7029828--->>http://www.planetsteelexpress.com/brands/Toy-Notch.htmlThey're still available at various retailers.
I thought I was going to regret this one since I hate diving into unknown territory, but I think we all made the right choice
>>7030713Oh fuck yes, more pics with the Robox please!
>>7032183He'd look good with a polynian
>>7032195I feel like this could get out of hand very quickly.
>>7032260>>7032330More of this please
Just got Argus and can say it's one of the best toys I've ever got. Possibly my favourite figure since Striker Noir.
>>7032195Seems you were wrong.
>>7015984>>high quality indie robot toy>>generic designevery time
Got my Argus in. What a beast of a toy
Definitely my new desk buddy
The ass on this bad boy is the most impressive part.
>>7033163What exactly do you qualify as generic? Humanoid?
Finally was able to open these
>>7033556Exploring the office Getting paid to play with toys
>>7015984I really hate this thread as it's making me really want one of these.
>>7033607I appreciate how articulated they are, but I don't like the design of either one.I'm hoping they continue the line and make something I actually want.
>>7033632Well, go fuck yourself.
>>7033682Well, that was uncalled for. What the fuck is with /toy/ the past few days? A lot of unnecessary hostility fucking everywhere.>>7033632I like the designs myself, though the color schemes aren't to my taste. That pic with the cape earlier in the thread is what sold me on the design.
>>7033687Lol think it's dumb to come into a thread and complain you aren't interested How about just leave it for those who like it.
>>7033632I agree, personally I'm not too fond of the waist, I hope they make other designs which are beefier in the future.
>>7033701On a scale of 1-10 how autistic are you?
>>7033632I'm enjoying the fuck out of apollo, but I also hope they keep it going and make something I like a little more looks wise.
>>7033701How was >>7033632 a complaint you sensitive little baby?
I finally found something able to hold this thing.
1 handed is even harder
I just want fucking more. I hope they make some smaller ones and weapon packs.
>>7033163>gorilla arms and stumpy legs>birthing hips with wasp waist>skull headI hate a generic robot as much as you, maybe even more, and generic is not really the word I'd use for this guy. He's not the wildest and most innovative robot I've ever seen obviously, but he's pretty memorable, and that's more than I can say for a LOT of other robot designs.
So many posing options. And the toe hinge is actually useful.
That shitty bazooka that comes with punisher looks neat with him.
Finally figured what this guy reminded me of, the chest and giant collar are straight out of the SCII marine design. Funnily enough, he can hold the gun from NECA one pretty well, although like somebody said the wrist hinges make it a little hard.
Apollo is up on bbts if you need him
Can't tell if my light is kinda crap on Argus, or if the batteries I've got a sorta shitty. Either way the lights are a lot duller than I was expecting.I find it kinda hard to trigger the lights as well, perhaps I should be more bigoted. Lights are not on in the pic btw, just wanted to share, with added robox gore.
I tried to cancel mine, but it was two late. Now I have one of each and have to figure out how to sells them.
Anyone have 1/6 weapons? I really want to see if those big hands make them compatible.
>>7044067I'll buy an Apollo off of you. email firstname.lastname@example.org
regret not getting one, dang.
Has anyone figured out how to take these things apart? I really want to swap the legs and got as far as taking out the screws in the hips, but that didn't actually do anything.
>>7044042The orange is a very lite of a light >>7044067I'll also buy one or both off email@example.com>>7047282I'm afraid to take the head off
>>7044042Mines the same way. They probably should of just done without the light gimmick.
>>7030711Fucking underrated pic
>>7047701The blue light on Apollo is bright and awesome though. It seems like the other guy needed some work.
>>7047282The designer of these things is on twitter somewhere I'm sure, I just can't find him right now. I want to find him so I can ask how easy it would be to crack Argus/Apollo open so I could change the LED.
It’s back in stock at bbts if anybody else needs them. Bought Apollo because Argus drab colors didn’t interest me.
>>7048125Thanks for the headsup, was able to grab an Argus.
>>7029466Ha, found it. Fingers fit perfectly, but the stock is too long for him to properly aim it though.
>Dillon! You son of a bitch!>>7029813>>7051815showzstore, but I heard you could get it cheaper on taobao etc.
>>7051903But that’s not how they did it
