People are getting their Pennywise figures in. And in a couple places I've been hearing rumblings of a supposed Gamestop exclusive?

I don't know how true that is, or if it's just a misinterpretation since Gamestop is carrying NECA now...

I got my NECA pennywise and love it.
I was worried cus the only 2 reviews online at the moment both have wonky right legs, so I was sure mine was gonna have that, but it didnt

Unfortunately the pupil on the smiling head is painted right above the eye on mine so I gotta have their customer service send a replacement, but their customer service has a great reputation for replacing stuff so I'm not worried. Super excited for the Tim Curry Pennywise
>>
Randy confirmed we're getting more IT stuff revealed at SDCC
Also when they announced they for the rights originally they said it was a "full line"
So I wonder what else they're gonna make. Probably gonna be releasing the same Pennywises with more interchangeable parts cus thats usually how it is.

Would love to see the Painting woman or that leper guy though. Curry Pennywise with dog head?
>>
were supposed to be getting another Godzilla shown off at SDCC but I have a feeling it's just gonna be another repaint. Probably that classic poster color 1954 variant we spotted in the back of a video showing off the NECA workplace

I doubt it, would be cool, but would be way too much for them to engineer for such a new line. I have a feeling they'll make a few figures utilizing mostly the same parts, see how well it does then move on to the more ambitious stuff

Really hoping we get Atreus at SDCC. Not if sure if I can wait 2 more weeks.
Also I've seen some say that Randy did mention they'd make more God of War figures, can anyone provide a source for that? Looked around and couldn't find anything.

>>
>>7027302
I wonder if they'll do an endgame Kratos with new armor, Mimir's head, and the Blades.
>>
>>7026840
Why do they always reverse the machete with the wrong side up when they do these photos. I've seen reviewers do it too. Fucking triggers my non-existent OCD.
>>
>>7027302
>>7027394
Hell I'd love for NECA to make figures of the whole cast. The game only has like six characters.

But yeah Atreus is a must, obviously. Dad needs Boy.
>>
>>7027302
He's said they're doing more GoW on Twitter a number of times. As big a hit as the game is, I'd bet we're getting Atreus though. I, too, want The Boy.

Also he recently said that all(?) figures will be switching over to window boxes before long. Probably not the Ultimates, but we might be moving away from clam shells.

>>7027076
I dunno, we got the Shin repaint shown off, that one was kind of a given, hopefully this next one is a new mold. But we'll see... I wouldn't mind if it was that poster Godzilla, but I like things like that.
>>
Is Ultimate Ahab going to start shipping with the new movie figures?
>>
>>7027394
A deluxe/ultimate edition of Kratos would be fucking awesome. It should include the axe, the blades, the shield, Mimir's head, the chisel, the bifrost, and the ashes.
>>
>>7027546
Yeah, pretty much all the predator stuff has been postponed till then.
Btw, I read that skull is supposed to be an Engineer's. Kind of hard to see any real difference with a regular person's skull. It would've been cool if they just gave us a head or something more distinguishable.

Anyone have the 18 inch, 1/4 scale Kratos? How is he in person? Only thing stopping me from buying him are the ugly eyes.
>>

There will also be an Ultimate Wolf next year. AvP:R was shit, but that design is marvelous. He's probably the most badass of them all, at least in the movies.
>>

I want an Ultimate Scar from the first movie. I know they released two versions and I was only able to acquire the masked version.
>>
>>7028584
They'll probably revisit him too, sometime next year. He's a fan favorite as well.
I'd also love to see more of their own, custom designs, like the Lost Predator they did.
>>
>>7028085
Yeah I know he's technically not a Playstation character but fuck he's practically associated with the Playstation brand much like Tekken and Tomb Raider
>>
>>7028549
What's wrong with the eyes? It's a pretty damn impressive figure though.
>>
>>7028613
See pic related, right is the promo pic. In the game his eyes are yellow but the whites of his eyes are just painted black on the mass produced figure which isn’t a huge problem since you could probably paint some white. But it’s also Interesting that Neca decided to make the skin so white compared to the more natural beige-white skin in the game. But it does make sense since their previous God of War figures all had very white skin color as well.
Still thinking of getting the 1/4 scale, everyone keeps saying who amazing it is for the price tag. It isn’t every day when really highly detailed 1/4 scale figures have $100-$140 price tags.
>>
>>7029134
>The one on the left is like: "Fuck! There's a bee in my beard!!!"
>>
>>7029134
You do know the figure was based on the earlier version of the Kratos model right? The model in the game now is just a bit different than it was when it was first shown (and the reference that NECA was using when sculpting and painting the figure). That includes things like his skin not being AS white, and some of the facial sculpt and armor detailing. It's especially apparent around the gauntlets on the figure compared to what you start the game with.

>>7029453
Here, as an example, you can really see the difference with the skin. Even some of the details on his belt and the horn are different/based on the earlier designs. It's still a stunning figure, but yeah, it's technically inaccurate.

What the fuck? 90 Movie turtles? Whaaatt??? Did they find a loophole in making them exclusive?

Not sure what's up with the Pennwyise, the receipt doesn't look like it says its an exclusive, although I have seen another pic of a preorder slip that said it was exclusive. But I believe Randy has said on twitter how the 90s one is not an exclusive, but when someone posted a pic of the receipt that said "exclusive" or "excl" or whatever on it, his response was something like "nothing has been announced for that" or something like that

So maybe Gamestop is getting special variant of 90s Pennywise?

I'm pretty sure 90's Pennywise is a normal release, and not exclusive.
Randy actually said on twitter that they're losing money from that figure in particular.
Everybody's jumped on the new Pennywise I guess.
>>
>>7029901
My guess is that because GameStop is just Thinkgeek's brick and mortar now, they just bought an inordinate amount through the preorder and are reselling them.
>>
>>7030092
Nooo, that's not at all possible. Especially with single figures like that.
>>
>>7030071
Yeah I saw he said that, but do they know that for sure? It's not even out yet, is he basing that off preorders?
I mean, he's probably right, Randy is obviously more experienced in all of this marketing stuff than any of us, I'm just curious how you can know that for sure before the figure is even released. Like I said, my guess is preorder numbers. I just feel like 90s Pennywise has been one of the most requested figures from them for years. It's surprising they'd be losing money on it, but I guess it was just a vocal minority. Everyone seemed so excited for it though, more than the 2017 one, from what I saw atleast....

But if they're losing money off that figure, wouldn't that make them want to reuse that mold as much as they can get away with? To make every penny they can back?
>>
>>7030102
When he says they're "losing money" on a figure, it's in reference to the production costs. They said they lost money making the Evil Dead 2 figures happen too, originally. I think they've made that money back since then, personally, but who knows. It all has to do with licensing and costs I guess.
>>
>>7030102

Great. Thanks NECA.

I get the retro figures are cheaper to produce and cus of that they can take risks with more obscure characters. I get that. It still sucks. I would LOVE a Herbert West to fit in with my collection, so it sucks to see one of the few Herbert Wests we'll EVER get not be that at all. >>
>>7034902
Probably not. I'd buy him, but a good majority of people buying Jason figures are casuals who may not even watch the movies, and barely know who he is. Which is strange considering Jason Lives used to be one of the most popular movies, but it seems a ton of people don't give a shit about the franchise pre-Hodder. On the other hand The Game made him super visible and a ton of people would probably want him just to pose shooting their other characters or watching Jason dismember other characters.
>>
>>7034731
I don't have many, but the last one I got was Billy from Silent Night Deadly night, and that felt pretty limited. I dont think his elbows or knees did 90 degrees and not ankle pivot

>Yeah I know he's technically not a Playstation character but fuck he's practically associated with the Playstation brand much like Tekken and Tomb Raider
I'm old enough to remember that Tomb Raider came out for the Saturn first and most previews in magazines that talked about it demoed first on the Saturn too.

Definitely not a Playstation brand character.

Most people also did not associate Tekken with Playstation either, because it's a Namco series and fanboys back then understood what a third party was.

As for Crash being seen as a PSX mascot, it's because the commercials had him trash talking Nintendo and this was mostly paid for by Sony, since they were the publisher for the game. So it was a first party game.
>>
>>7038562
Tomb Raider's early Saturn release was for Europe only and nobody gave a shit about that version
The big hoo-ha regarding Tomb Raider was the PS version
It's like saying Resident Evil wasn't associated with Playstation because 2 was available on N64 a year later

And no, Resident Evil wasn't associated, like Crash or Battle Arena Toshiden was, with the PSX, since RE came out for the Saturn as well.
>>
>>7038672
>since RE came out for the Saturn as well.
Yeah a full year after the PS version
Nigger, just because you had the shittier consoles doesn't everyone else cared about them
PS1 and all these franchises were king back then. Tekken, Tomb Raider and RE were the face of PS1
>>

Yeah and it became a phenomenon when VII popped up and PS1 was the version everyone cared about

Geez dude, way to make it obviously you were so poor you only owned the PSX.
i owned all the consoles back then. N64, Saturn, PSX, 32x, even the CDi (plus all the older ones), so i was drinking up all the tears back then.

Sorry, but you're just making it very obvious you were not on the internet back then and were not reading any magazines, considering how big a deal all this shit was.
In fact, since they weren't seen as exclusive, they weren't even brought up during the console wars.

It's almost funny how this same shit is playing out today with fanboys on this board, almost like brands make you sign a blood contract to only buy them. And like back then, I enjoy all the brands, because i can pick and choose the best ones.
>>
>>7038730
Literally nobody owned a Saturn. Tomb Raider only got popular because of the Playstation.
>>
>>7038759
>not old enough to have bitter tears when Tomb Raider came out for the Saturn, so fanboys latched onto the actual exclusives to claim superiority
I really miss the internet of the 90s and that gaming era, but nothing has really changed, has it? People still cry bitter tears today, like with how these threads changed when the Revoltech and Figuart Aliens were made, trying to claim superiority despite the meh likenesses and bad paint.

Oh, and i hated Tomb Raider. Wonkiest shittiest camera that made me avoid third person shooters like that.

sure is generation y whose first console was PSX.

It took a while for the PSX to become viewed as a popular brand with casuals, especially with how the N64 was big for its initial year and the following one.
By that time, people were starting to hype up the Dreamcast. So even PSX owners were paying attention to SEGA again, and seeing various games that weren't PSX exclusives like Tomb Raider and RE being shown for that console too.

Again, only Crash was actually associated with the PSX back then, because it was an actual first party game. Nearly everything else every console fanboy knew how third party Tomb Raider and RE were.
You were a kid back then, so your ignorant beliefs continue to this day and i guess you don't want to believe what i say, because you don't want your childhood ruined like Star Wars, TMNT, and Transformers have been.

Not really the point, because you're talking about casuals and shit and SEGA was very much a dominant brand until 1996-7 and why the Dreamcast was able to garner as much hype as it did.
And that's not really the point either, because people were very aware that series like RE and Tomb Raider were being released to rival consoles thanks to SEGA's status as a dominant force.

The only people who weren't paying attention were people like this whose first console was the PSX >>7038787

Mezco One:12 do not fit with the retro cloth figures. The retro cloth figures are like 8 inches, while traditional neca figures are 6-7, which is what the Mezco One:12 line is.

The Retro Cloth line have inaccurate proportions and overly baggy clothes and don't scale with most other lines because theyre cheaper and stylized to be like MEGO figure.
The Mezco One:12s have better proportions, sometimes still wonky if theyre ultra buff super heroes, but if their Michael ends up like their Frankenstein then he'll look good. The clothes don't look overly baggy, they look real enough. And this frankenstein scales well with my other NECA figures. Not perfectly but still good. If their Michael turns out like this he should fit in with other NECA horror figures well enough

I get that, I just think some of Mezcos One:12 figures have the cloth done so well, such as that Frankenstein, that it looks like realistic clothing, It's almost like a traditionally sculpted figure in the sense that the sculpted clothes are made to look realistic for that scale. That's why I think they mesh together pretty well.
They're retro cloths are so thick and baggy, it looks more like a doll than a faithful representation of the characters.

Nah, the crowning evidence is the games were released on other consoles and the TB game was previewed primarily on the Saturn by nearly every magazine.
Everyone at the time knew what third party and ports were, but you want to pretend otherwise.

Again, Crash was associated with Playstation because it was exclusive during that era. It was also published by Sony, unlike what you're trying to claim.

You're making shit up because you know how stupid you sound. What you're trying to argue is like saying everyone associates Call of Duty with Playstation.

pic of how popular things get toylines
>>
>>7042532
You're not even worth this (You)
You're the one moving goalposts. Sales numbers for the consoles have already been posted. Saturn and Dreamcast are dead last. They couldn't even make it to double-digit millions. That was the entire point of the conversation, that your retarded ass thought Tomb Raider and Resident Evil weren't associated with Playstation just because they were on different consoles, when the crushing majority of gamers back then had a PS1. Not a Saturn.
And how was nearly every magazine previewing the Saturn version of Tomb Raider if it only came out earlier than the other versions in Europe? And when the PS1 was outdoing the Saturn? How can you sit there and pretend magazines were prioritizing the release of a game on a struggling console over the hot-selling one?
And when did I ever claim Crash wasn't published by Sony?
And no, it's not like the Call of Duty example at all. Not modern COD, anyway. The simple fact is you can't rewrite History. Sega lost and the crushing, overwhelming majority didn't care about their 3D consoles. They cared about the PS1 and they heard the words "Tekken", "Tomb Raider" and "Resident Evil" and thought of Playstation.
Also, that pic is the most desperate example I've ever seen. Virtua Fighter is the deadest game compared to its peers like Tekken, Street Fighter and even Dead or Alive. The reason it has toys while the others have considerably less comes down to licenses and willingness to invest into that market
SEGA loves putting out toys of their stuff, even Space Channel has a figma. But it's asinine to try and pretend like those IPs and their consoles were anywhere close in popularity to other franchises and the competing consoles
You've grown delusional and close-minded in your old age and you reject facts by pretending that people who disagree with you are just "too young". You're a living version of 90's Nick

It's like I'm really in Super Mario World and have reached the end of the level's moving goalpost.

Also, i really love how you believe that SEGA themselves are releasing these toys at a loss and that it isn't a toy company believes they'll more than recoup the cost of the license, sculpt, molding, mass production, shipping, and storage because its a popular seller.

Also, I never said SEGA made toys. I said they have an easy time working with toy companies and like to license their stuff out for toy making.

You then devolved into trying to push the "you're gen z" and "you're a poorfag" memes while also bringing up Call of Duty for some reason and implying I'm changing the argument and closing myself off from facts
When the actual facts is that Saturn was soundly beaten, failed to compete with PSX and N64, was considered a commercial failure that began SEGA's downward spiral that lead to them dropping out of the hardware market and get into a slump that lasted for years AND that every evidence in the world points towards the previously mentioned franchises being associated with Playstation in the minds of gamers because the majority of gamers owned and played them on PSX
You can keep trying to push out all the fake history and buzzwords you want but shit won't change. SEGA lost and the PSX was the hot one back then

Sorry, but you're still projecting that because you're a retarded kid who didn't have the money to go multiplatform that everyone else didn't notice that games like Call of Duty were advertised for other consoles as well.

Since you were so poor, you also couldn't afford magazines that reported on the sales, nor understand that at the time the Playstation didn't have a large lead over anyone, hence every magazine still reporting on the games and consoles almost equally. As mentioned earlier, the N64 actually sold so well it sold more units in its first six months than the PSX did at that point worldwide. So coverage was about even and sales were about as well, hence the Saturn getting Tomb Raider and Resident Evil.

You're only looking back at total sales and think that means anything, but at the time, things were more equal. See that ad with the Saturn's logo being shown and same with this TV ad.

Nobody gave a shit about Saturn. Some people gave a shit about N64. Everyone cared about Playstation.
You're living vicariously through what you've heard other people tell you online that their childhood was N64 and SEGA and that everyone and their dog played those
These are delusions. You need help coming to terms with the truth. I can sympathize with that.
I've given you all the information in the world and I've proved the PSX dominated the competition both at the time and in the long-run. Keep denying the truth and projecting your childhood trauma of being stuck with a Saturn, relishing the scraps of magazines that tried desperately to convince you that you made the right choice all you want.
In the end, you'll never go back and enjoy the console king of the 90s. You'll never find another gamer who'll get giddy and excited over your association of Tomb Raider and RE with Saturn.
Because they played it on PSX. And you played nothing after 1998 because the Saturn was officially taken out back and shot in the head that year

Nothing you said contradicts what I've said.
Again, it wasn't until a year after the N64 came out that the PSX hit its stride, but before that the N64 was hugely popular and sold so many in it equaled the PSX's numbers in less than a year.

You love ignoring the fact that SEGA was selling billions of dollars worth in games/consoles, because you want to pretend that SEGA wasn't popular. You want to pretend that because something else sold more that somehow everything else doesn't matter. It's not a zero sum game.
But that's besides the point: you're ignoring all the ads that showed that Tomb Raider was on the Saturn, because you either weren't born yet or a poorfag who ignored everything that wasnt PSX.

I dont' think I've ever been to VR, but the N64 had a lot of party games and multiplayer was very popular. Popular enough so that many games were sold as just multiplayer/party games. Obviously, multiplayer wasn't popular on the PSX. Their key to popularity was single player RPGs.
>>
>>7043554
I don't pretend that other shit doesn't matter, I simply tried correcting your original retarded statement that Tomb Raider is associated with Saturn instead of PSX
Yes, it was on Saturn. But it's not what people remember it for. Resident Evil got ported to Saturn. But you're a retarded for thinking that the RE series wasn't associated with PSX back in the day. It's like saying Final Fantasy wasn't associated with PSX because it was available on PC
You're desperately trying to convince me that things that were on less popular platforms are somehow more closely associated and remembered for being on those platforms than the one that outsold it by 90 million
Also that picture doesn't show billions, you idiot. That's 2 million $
>>
>>7043576
>I simply tried correcting your original retarded statement that Tomb Raider is associated with Saturn instead of PSX
You're not correcting anything; you're making shit up. I never said that.
You're just a stupid kid with awful reading comprehension skills.

All i said is that it isn't associated with the PSX like CB was. That's it. For a butt enflamed reason you want to read more into the text than i said, just because i told the truth that it was released on the Saturn first and most fanboys at that point learned what a "third party" was.
Again, just because you're ignorant doesn't means everyone else was.

There were dozens of gaming magazines back then ensuring millions of readers knew stuff you either didn't read because you were too poor to buy them or weren't born yet.

>Also that picture doesn't show billions, you idiot. That's 2 million $
Seriously, you're a stupid kid. Pay closer attention to what it says. This is HS economics level shit.
>>
>>7043586
You're the one that seems to think "associated" means "exclusive". So you definitely should reconsider relearning how to read. Ask anyone you want. Tomb Raider and Playstation go hand-in-hand in people's minds. Not Saturn

Also, you're legitimately retarded. I hope you're younger than 18.
That's Thousands of dollars as in 563 thousand dollars plus the other values for a total of 2 million
270 million yen equals 2 million dollars
You seriously have an IQ in the single digits for not understanding this
If you're really as old as you say, it's a miracle you've lived this long while not even being able to read numbers and doing currency conversion

I head Neil Blompkamp's doing a new Robocop. I assume Neca will probably do a new line of merch in that case. I wonder what the design will be like.
>>
>>7043612
Except that's wrong and doesn't apply to your SEGA screencap
270 million yen converts to 2 million yen
>At the top of a balance sheet or any other financial report, you see a statement indicating that the numbers are in millions, thousands, or however the company decides to round the numbers. For example, if a billion-dollar company indicates that numbers are in millions, you see 1 billion represented as 1,000 and 35 million as 35. The 1,123,456,789.99 figure would appear as 1,123.
SEGA indicates it as thousands. 563 thousand dollars. Adding with the other values to 2 million dollars
> Following five years of generally declining profits, in the fiscal year ending March 31, 1998 Sega suffered its first parent and consolidated financial losses since its 1988 listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Due to a 54.8% decline in consumer product sales (including a 75.4% decline overseas), the company reported a consolidated net loss of ¥35.6 billion (US$269.8 million).
A company bleeding money like this, wouldn't be making 2 billion dollars in revenue, you underaged mongoloid

Here's Nintendo's financial statement.

Think hard retard.

<(don't read if you're still struggling with the financial statements)> And we're only counting net scales here, because that's what's been sold and what people are buying. Profits are something else entirely and we all know how TRU failed despite selling billions of dollars worth of toys every year and generating hundreds of millions in positive operating income, until it came to paying off their debt/interest <(don't read if you're still struggling with the financial statements)>
