>>7217743
Fuck. Now I need to figure out how to do this too. Do you have a link? When does it go up?
>>
>>7217692
Do you mean production order? 08th MS Team would receive figures in the ANIME line pretty much last just before Unicorn then, as far as UC series go.

Chronologically 08th MS Team takes place nearly concurrently with 0080. 0083 takes place 3 years later than that...as if that wasn’t obvious from the title already.
>>
>>7217744
Went up at 16.00 JST, which is an hour and 21 minutes ago. They're both up on P-Bandai, but most of the import sites don't have them up for order yet. Checking Nippon-Yasan, MyKombini and BBTS. I only really have the intention to use MyKombini, but it helps to check in.
Only site I've seen them on so far is BigInJapan, and that requires full payment in advance, much like Nippon-Yasan.

Web exclusive preorders are generally open for around two months. Strelitzia XX preorders just opened today, so you can expect preorders to close sometime in late December. Bandai usually updates product pages with exact close dates around 2-3 weeks before the close. I try to make sure preorder deadlines are posted/updated in the OP when a new thread is created, but the best thing to do if you need more time to preorder is to keep an eye on the product's page.

>>7217788
Thanks for the information. I know P-Bandai stuff is usually up for a while, but I didn't know what the deal is with those products that have no deadline. If they are just up for a day, or whatever. Thanks for the clarity.
Then I'm not gonna worry about rushing it until MyKombini has them up.
>>
>>7217581

>>

Probably just an issue with me.
>>
H-hayai...
>>
Seems like MyKombini won't have the webshop exclusives up. At least not until Monday, if I'm correct?
>>
>>7217843
>FA Ideon
That's an interesting choice, looks pretty good and he's probably gonna be rock solid thanks to the lack of a transformation gimmick.
I now want a FA Godannar, means they don't have to worry about the crazy impossible combining sequence between Dannar and Okusaer
>>
>>7217683
It is a nice looking design even if it's not able to go at it without a stand as easily as most RD. Can't tell you when MyKombini would have it up, just keep an eye out.
Also, you may want to look out for GSC's version even if you'd have to put that together, since based on the regular version of Strelizia it'll be a little cheaper and a little bigger, but it doesn't have multiple expressions. Not sure what details are most important to you.

>>7217539
>gattling guns
>no gattling covers
>no gattling effect parts
I wonder what the deal is here. Perhaps they'll give us an unseen feature of using the gattling guns from the armour (I know such a feature doesn't look possible but it is a prototype)

>>7217543
>Zephyranthes
At last. I must admit that Full Bernen is more my speed and I'm not sure what lesson (if any) I'll take from the Alex situation. I hope they'll just release the full package and the two versions can be switched between.

Gerbera Tetra even as P-Bandai please.
>>
>>7217558
This Nero almost makes me glad that I missed the other ones.
>>
>>7217915
>I wonder what the deal is here
The deal is the lack of those parts annoys you enough to buy the previous version.
>>
>>7217923
Oh I have the previous version. I still wish it was an option set, but I can't say that I mind having the damaged parts and the option of displaying both of Alex's big battles at once.
>>
>>7217926
Oh I'm with you. If it wasn't in the original release, it should have just become an option set for those with the figure already. I guess it's nice you can have both versions up with their own unique enemy to face off against.
I assume that's part of the logic anyway.
>>
>>7217902
Makes sense wanting a Godannar, not one of my favourites though.
I really wanted an Ideon figure (and I was worried since it appeared in the Robot Spirits poll, that should be for real robots). Now I will wait for Gravion, Dancouga, Arbegas and God Mars, hopefully Big O since it was announced as a SRC
>>
>>7217936
They showed off a SRC Godannar long ago too, so maybe one day we'll get lucky and finally get the robots we want. Still waiting on that El Dora Soul RD too

Crap.

It doesn't have a shield mount for the side, it is using the hand grip.

I wasn't intending to get the 0080 and 0083 line in full anyway, but I have been a GM fan all my life and was thinking of getting some one-off ones.

It would be sad if GM Custom/Quel fails too.

At the moment, I am only collecting First Gundam/MSV and any Okawara lineart accurate stuff. I am also an army builder so I've went all in with the one line already. I would still welcome M-MSV, MS-X and MSV-R as they would still be Okawara styling.

At least I have a few sub lines that I won't have to care about now.
>>
M-MSV actually came out in 1990, so I think doing MS-X might be easier. Maybe they will release Desert GM and Land Use GM many years later when the Feddie Weapon pack stock depletes.

The beam spray gun for the Desert GM has better cooling and sand proofing.

Now that they're doing 0083, I'd like to see this.
>>

Thanks for the heads-up!
>>
>>7218708
More likely a more basic articulation set up, cheaper materials, less accessories.
>>
>>7218887
>cheaper materials
ABS and PVC are as cheap as it gets, even for the expensive stuff.

>less accessories
It's likely this. No effects parts, basic weapons only, etc.
>>
>>7218708
>>7218911
Honestly I'd like something closer to the old MSIA line at the end of it's life. Specifically the Seed figures. Those still stand out to me as the perfect mix between posability and playability. I'm sure they could apply some of their new tech to it without going full RD where it sometimes feels like everything is going to fall apart if you look at it wrong.
>>
>>
>>7217561
The Gundam looks like a new mould, not sure about the rest.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Barbie had all the option part supports removed and the Unicorn/Banshee had non moving accessories unlike with their RD counterparts.

Been trying to work out just how big they would be using the angle of the stand on the Unicorn in that picture.
Seem to be very similar size, I was leaning towards maybe slightly larger but since it appears no one else has bothered to photograph these, I could easily be wrong.
Would make more sense to just repurpose the existing molds with some changes for cheaper production though instead of making slightly larger ones from the start.

I am the anon that asked some questions regarding Banshee last thread. I got the cheapest available on Mandarake (it was 2k compared to others around 3 and 4k) expecting something bad but it seems that maybe just the damaged box makes it cheaper? (it wasnt even THAT damaged)
I love it, nothing is loose and it's fun to pose (sword hilts love to fall of the jetpack tho) Time to watch Gundam Unicorn, I guess
>>
>>7219259
Japs really value those boxes. Almost everything you could buy on mandarake describes the box as having some damage seemingly because they're that anal about even the tiniest dents. I don't get it at all but it makes buying stuff off there really safe despite the disclaimer about no refunds.
>>
>>7218336
>Is the grey armor removable?
I really hadn't considered that it might not be doable in an enjoyable way and so it might be stuck on there. If so, the P-Bandai part makes slightly more sense.

I really like the packaging style they used on this (and the SHF 02), putting the window on the back makes it looks better while still be able to look at the figure without opening the box.But they probably did this because of how bad the SHF 02 looks.

I'm starting to regret not having ordered one already. It can do a surprising amount with those legs.

>>7219803
This packaging is weird to me. I like the design on the front with shots from the actual show, but a window in the back just weirds me out.
Also, I actually don't think 02 looks that bad. I thought she was a bit iffy in the first shots, but she's pretty okay. As okay as she could be. Maybe the face shape could be improved.
She looks very clearly jointed, sure, but I don't expect any different from a character that is essentially in a skintight suit.

Yeah, on the figure, a flat face with a screaming head doesn't really work, but it seems to be how it was done in the series, because it was more or less a screen.

Yeah, that might be a case where being accurate is a negative, as the flat, painted on mouth is definitely more accurate to how it's supposed to be according to the logic of how Strelizia functions, but it's awkward in reality.

>>
>>7220949
Different anon, I always wondered why both of these lines exist at the same time. They seem to be targeting the same niche. Metal Build is bigger and more expensive right? Hi-Metal R seems kind of redundant too. It just seems like the brands could be consolidated.
>>
>>7221193
Its a scale, so they can cover more ground, metal build is "premium" aimed at adults with lots of cash, metal build is for those in the same bracket but less money ie a poor man's metal build, then you got robot damashii as the next cheapish option, then gashapon stuff like that g frame stuff

Only reason why different IP's is so to rope people in who may not have wanted into such lines
>>
>I always wondered why both of these lines exist at the same time
They have different price range, scales, staff, or are sub lines of a bigger line, or revivals of old lines.

MRD and ANIME are sub lines of RD.

Metal Build and GFFMC are pretty much the same thing but GFFMC is a sub line of GFF and has Katoki behind it.

Hi-Metal R, unlike the name suggests, doesn't push metal as the main gimmick, but more about the transforming aspect. Hi-Metal R is also a Revival of the old Hi-Metal line, hence the R.

Glad you're enjoying your Banshee! If the beam saber hilts are being finicky, make sure you've got them plugged in all the way into the mounting pegs, then they shouldn't be loose at all. From your pic, it looks like you don't quite have them plugged in fully.

>>7220699

I do try to make sure I take pics when the sun is out, so as >>7220720 said it's probably the lighting that helps my pics look halfway decent. There's definitely a lot of Bandai lines to keep track of, but the folks who frequent the RD threads are so helpful that I think any questions about the lines are addressed pretty promptly. There's sometimes talk of putting together a guide for the thread though, while I'm not sure the RD threads really move fast enough to warrant one, info about the lines would certainly be a great inclusion to such a guide!

Pledge or permanent varnish in the joints. Don’t overdo it at once or it’ll be a mess.

I personally use brush on nail clear topcoat. Just apply a little bit around the ball, give it a few minutes to dry, and pop it back on.
>>
>>7225020
I have tried nail polish and floor polish, both work for limited use only--meaning that if you actually play with your toys this method will not last long.

I prefer to use either clear tape or a plastic sheet (a cut out from a plastic bag for example). How? You grab the tape/plastic and you wrap it around the ball or socket and put the joint back into the ball/socket.

So, Patlabor and Wataru are dead right

I noticed they released/announced some NXEdge Wataru Mashin. What's the difference with RD? Do they scale well?

the quality isn't RD and it uses a similar joint layout to the NXedge line.

They don't scale with one another. the rds are much bigger. They're not a replacement or an addition, just a cheaper addition.

Also, sentinel is doing a wataru ryuomaru but I imagine they're only doing that. They do have a 4inchnel for the MC.

Animation Edition or the 8 year old release?
>>
>>7225643
RDs really have three strengths:

1. They typically hold together better and have a greater range of articulation than their kit brethren

2. They often delve into series/franchises for which there are no kits. Or at least no good ones.

3. They're good for robot fans that can't into kits

If you got plamo skills and the suits you want are getting kits, there isn't a whole lot of reason to buy RDs in my opinion. That assumes you're not tired of building gunpla though, which...you just said you were.

>>7225767
This is inaccurate. Compare RD Barbatos with its model kit counterparts. Hell, even an old RD like the GM Sniper II has more articulation than the newer HGUC. And the articulation of RDs doesn't compromise their stability, unlike some model kits (RG).

>>7226178
To be fair, RG kits have gotten so much better in terms of stability compared to the early days. For example, no one expected the RG Unicorn to be as solid as it is.

It's becoming clear that most of Bandai's budget has been going into their model kit department rather than figures.
>>
>>7226203
Sure, let's use that example: I have the HGUC 78 revive--great kit, great articulation, and fairly stable. But the ANIME RD (I have one) blows it out of the water in all of those areas.

It's not that the model kits are badly designed/engineered, rather, it's that model kits are still designed as, well, models (display pieces) as opposed to toys (things you play with). This is why the RDs have, overall, better articulation and stability than model kits.

A minor digression: I actually think that the HG Barbatos looks way better than the RD. The proportions on the RD are kinda wonky.
>>
>>7226787
The toy and hobby divisions probably act like different companies altogether, maybe that will change with the Spirits reorganization but let's be honest, models are the big moneyrakers. They sell those things like candy and they pump them out from domestic factories. Gunpla basically has multiple events all to itself. They still reprint kits from the 90s every once in a while. I think it's safe to say gunpla is probably Bandai and Gundam's big cash cow.
>>
>>7226796
The Sprits re-organization already happened this year though, and basically nothing has changed with the exception of them buying Bluefin to make it their U.S. branch and renaming it Bandai Namco Collectibles in the U.S.
>>
>>7226796
>The toy and hobby divisions probably act like different companies altogether

They do. Derringer's said it's aggravating because, for Robot Spirits info on the market, neither team will share what they know in terms of popularity. And a whole different R&D process. Essentially, each division of Bandai, Boy's, Collector's, Hobby, America, is a different company.

I still haven't watched DitF (and maybe I won't ever, since it seems poorly reviewed by everyone), but gosh I love the design of this mech. >>
>>7228109
Really don't bother with DiTF. First of all, it's not even a mech-centric series.
As for the feet? Yeah, they're unstable as hell, but that's to be expected with a design like that, and they weren't designed to have some kind of joint at the ankle either. Closest you've got is that the "heel" can move about somewhat freely.

This and the M9 units would be good for buying multiples, but we'll really have to see if Bandai intends to make any more Franxx figures at all, which will depend on how popular the current releases are.

I don't have the MRD but the chinese MB. The CMB comes with a healthy number of option parts and accessories, it is bigger (1/100), comes with a cool stand that doubles as a storage bin for parts, and has good paint apps and details. Unless you are deadset on the OG huck, the CBM gives you more bang for your buck.

Speaking of easy points of breakage, I decided to open up the hips on my DX YF-19 to loosen them up a bit. The hip assembly is terrifying: it's absolutely the one point on the toy I would count on to critically fail at some point, and it looks like it would basically be impossible to repair. Thinking of opening them up again to put some silicone grease in the metal cups.

Anyone still waiting on theirs, be very careful with the hips and if they're so tight they won't move, don't torque them - reach for the jeweller's screwdrivers instead.
>>
>>7231189
>China doesn't give a shit about bootlegs though
Individual Chinese businesses don't care about bootlegs, but the government actually does because it can hurt the overall business climate now that China is not really "Communist" given how many rich Chinese people exist now.

...Especially if the government is shown evidence and literally the name of the business that's producing the bootlegs they can't turn a blind eye.

I think that specific Max and Millia color scheme is from one of the artbooks. I'd imagine the Skull Leader one is too if that's the case.

Has anyone here ever used Anime NPC for their orders? I am considering doing so, but I wonder if it's worth it as a yuropoor. I don't order from BBTS because of it.

That's an upgraded Astraea (Type F) though. The original Astraea was pretty basic.

Sadly, all the cool stuff like that never seems to get much in terms of merchandise

why do so many places think it's a Gundam when it's with the non-gundam displays?

Because Gundam is the more popular brand.

>>
>>7217539
I like what I'm seeing with the Kampfer, but I wish they would include extra shoulder parts so you could have them be symmetrical like in MS Saga.
>>
>>7235791
That's why you buy two Kaempfers for a truly massive arsenal AND double the shoulders.
>>
>>7235817
Now that's a tempting idea.
>>
>>7235817
that's almost the price of a GFFMC

what if they release a GFFMC Kaempfer?
>>
>>7227394
that looks super fuckin cool
>>
>>7236022
You get both since they are different lines.
>>
>>7236022
I'm pretty sure you'll never have to worry about that happening given the fact its not a gundam. It took them this long to release a zaku and its only the most iconic design in the franchise other than the gundam itself.
>>
>>7236602
While it seems weird to have taken this long I feel the fact the Zaku has had such a varied design from MSG/ZZ/08th/Unicorn etc hasn't helped at all.

Other suits to get a GFFMC either have featured in very few shows besides their main one or it's a specific style (78 Origin), so it's easier to be a bit more free with the detailing

Origin has done a really great job at giving all the early UC suits a specific style guide which lends itself easily to a GFFMC without having to deal with the hassle of trying to please the people who want something more MSG with others who might want something from another show when it comes to picking and choosing aspects of the design.
>>
>>7236022
I don't understand the question.

Why would you not buy more Kaempfer?
>>
Nuu's review of the HMR VF-2SS Nexx ver. is up. http://blog.livedoor.jp/hacchaka/archives/52034302.html

Notably it includes the full SAP set AND Nexx's specific leg armor for holstering the "heavy railgun" second handheld weapon.
>>
>>7237083
It comes with the wrong pilot. That's Hibiki...
>>
>>7237704

I honestly never would have even known. I've never seen Macross II, I just like how the VF-2SS looks in gerwalk and fighter mode.

Has anyone else preordered the tamashii con exclusive RX e/ship and Zaku from Nippon?
They’re available to buy from them now but they’ve not filled or given me any info on shipping on them yet?
>>
>>7237083
Seems like they fixed the issue with the shoulder hinges. I think it looks a lot better with the red stripe instead though.
>>
>>7238144
What issue?
>>
>>7238149
The hinges couldn't clear the screws on the original figure. Looks like they work properly this time.

Anyone get the chinese MB Kshatriya? I was thinking about getting it but some chinese reviewer showed off his hands and he has cuts all over. I have no idea what he's saying but holy shit, I want a 1/100 but not that much. Never even cut myself once building gunpla. Anyone who has it care to share their experience? i think the first batch already came out?

I'm all for detail-up and added functionality, but I think this particular version needs more work.
This image highlights my qualms.
For the binder sub arms, the added greeble/joint parts just makes the armor plate stick out. It should be flush when tucked away.
For the binder connectors themselves, I have circled a spot where 2 pegs seemingly hold the binders in a position. This is super lazy. All that extra detail and mass to make these things more detailed and functional, and there's just these 2 peg stops sitting there, breaking up the design. What's the point of all the "mechanical detail" if it doesn't actually look better?
Taking a sleek design and stuffing it full of greeble to where it looks bloated and won't function properly is not an improvement.
>>
>>7238591
At least it's not basically a completely different MS like the steel legend. that said I'll take the one that doesnt shred my hands
>>
>>7238591
Anon, it's a 3rd pirate party. It's already a miracle that they have stayed fairly faithful to the original despite some details. When Bandai will make his MB, if it does, we'll see the differences. For now, this is what you got.
>>
Got this guy in today and figured I’d post a pic.

Just a typical Zaku, but the camo is quite nice. Mine had a few tiny nicks in the paint out of the box, but nothing I can really complain about. Otherwise it looks great in-person.

Oddly enough, the shoulders have a sorta soft ratcheting joint in this version. Rotating the arm where it connects to the torso will make it softly pop into preset positions. It’s nowhere as bad as Char’s Zaku’s knees, and you can still pose the arm in-between the presets fine.

It’s really tempting to pick up more of this guy because they’d make such a nice squad.

Anyone notice the Lunar Surface equipment Nero is up on P-Bandai? Any differences from the old Nero?
>>
>>7239252
Its a Marking Plus reissue, so similiar to what they did with the MK-V Marking Plus, it has added metal detail spots that were not on the original, and the backpack has an added part on the top of it behind the head, and all the warning markings on the Marking Plus version will come already applied to the figure, the original Nero had waterslide decals you had to apply to the figure for the warning markings.
>>
>>7239462
The backpack/gastank doesn't look removable though
>>
So when's the new thread up?
>>
Over here.
