I would like to remind people that the 8 site is still a thing. Something to keep in mind should this thread die again or finish. Here is a repost of my review of Griseus:I finally got around to reading Griseus, and it was good. I really love the style of the game, with the monochrome and slightly moving sprites giving it a lot of personality. It really is good at setting the mood with its music. It has good pacing, too, as it sets up the characters and world before the first major event happens. It also reminds me of Dawntide with how the self-dialogue works if more extreme and leaning more into schizo. With amnesia as well. It does give the MC enough to go on to keep the reader hooked, as the truth of the matter is still up in the air . I wasn't expecting it to become a mystery either, with possibly some supernatural elements. I'm kind of hoping that it is just all ghost stories in the end, to be honest, because that would be more interesting to me, but I wouldn't be shocked if there was something haunting people. The same goes for the stuff the MC sees from his trauma/mental issues. It also has a great fake-out meta moment, and I'm a sucker for those. A super promising start to the VN and I was glad it was recommended.

Last /fvn/ thread I asked how much you get from Echo Tangent if you're a Sydneyfag (>>79359502), and having played it through up to the current update I can say I'm actually positively surprised. Syd's pretty much acting the way I've imagined (even if I'm not too big on SydneyxTJ), and his characterization does him justice imo. The writing is pretty good all around as well despite the usual ESLisms, typos, and Leo's somewhat excessive use of Spanish. The VN is especially entertaining to play when you do Syd's and Chase's POVs at the same time

It is short, and I don't want to give away too much, but it was okay. It felt predictable with where the story is going. I know this reeks of an overly ambitious project and we probably won't see it for years, but I'm still really looking forward to seeing how Eddio pulls it off.

So after catching up on two routes of Moonlight Castle (Dylan and Blake) i decided to take a break and check out Down The River's Edge, nice presentation even if the art style is a bit goofy, there were even a few animations, the real issue i felt was the characters fell into the eight deadly words for me. Doesn't really help that the cutest character was the Otter that was in that one early scene that gets bonked.

The removal for that of the trucker is a way to disown him. I honestly think the whole thing would have worked better as the story focusing them being together before his secret comes out. If someone else was writing it, the VN could be interesting with a message of furrries being just a wayward group of people trying to find belonging in their own ways.
