Was debating whether to post this on /jp/ or /trv/, but /trv/ is slow as fuck, so I figured I'd post here first.I have a holiday to Japan that I've done virtually no planning for my Dad's 60th (because I planned it 18 months ago and then my job situation changed)What are the best things to do for an average, non-weeb 30 year old, and his non-weeb 55 year old mother and 60 year old non-weeb father? I'm in Tokyo for 7 days and Norita for 2.I already have Akihabara, Shibuya Crossing, Sensjoi Temple, the Skytree, the Pokemon Centre, Madan Tusades (thats for my mum), and a tour of the government buildings. We're leaving in 11 days. I know Japan is a wealth of fun stuff, and I would be able to stay there for a month myself at least, but I need a few more boomer friendly activities for my mum and dad.
>non-weeb>akihabara>pokemon centerNigger you what?Take them to an onsen.Fish market.Golden GaiJazz bar (if they are so inclined)Sneak away with your dad and hit up a soap
Why not check the theatres? Noh might be a bit too much unless you're into japanese culture, but maybe some Kabuki performance? Even if you don't understand the words, they are very performative, and certainly unique. Or maybe you could see a concert? Could check if there are any gagaku or koto performances for example. And the train system in Japan is very efficient, you could go to Kyoto for a day or two quite easily. See Kiyomizudera, kinkakuji, ginkakuji, and go back. Or maybe see Fuji?
