As someone who was offered relocation to Portland or Seattle, you need to be aware what those are. Most those are the gay eurostyle "shared community" housing shit. Meaning, that studio lacks a kitchen and may/may not have a proper shower and toliet. Those are down the hall shared by everyone on the floor, and it only takes one dumbass to fuck shit up. I fell into that trap looking and thought to myself damn, not so bad. Then you realize these are drug infested section-8 havin nog dindu nuffin wrong style places. Alternatively, they do this weird bullshit where an apartment is listed 1BR which is true but you have shared spaces of the TV/Kitchen areas.

Also, you have to understand a LOT of these are income restricted, so the cheapo 1300/mo place might say you can only make 52k/yr or some BS.

OR has very high state income tax. Property taxes are also high in most the state. There’s only 9-10 cities east of the Rockies more expensive than Portland. Living in Portland costs more than 90% of America.
