South Park has never been more relevant than it is right now.
>>
I agree. the latest season has been great so far. matt and trey stuck to their guns all this time. this I find very inspiring.
>>
>>104761324
it's tanking in the ratings and almost no zoomers have even heard of it. it should just die
>>
>First three episodes of Season 21 averaged 1.39m viewers
>First three episodes of Season 22 averaged 1.00m viewers
>more relevant than ever
>>
south park peaked in relevancy in like 1999 or 2000 around the time the movie came out

you'd have to be a zoomer to think sp is any where close to as popular as it was 20 years ago
>>
Atticus Finch needs to learn that if he defends boo Radley, all he gets is shitty.
>>
South Park has't been funny or relevant in years.
>>
>>104761837
the content they are putting out is relevant - who gives a fuck about ratings. everyone pirates or streams anyway, 'ratings' are more irrelevant than ever if anything.
>>
>>104761942
It's really not though. It's boring and tedious. It's a chore to watch this show.
>>
>>104761942
>topical political commentary
>relevant
how to age your show like milk 101
>>
Literally what
>>
>>104761324
quick rundown on context of this image?
>>
>>104761324
It's relevant, but it's just not as funny as it used to be.
>>
Shhh... don't mention SP, the donald redditors are going to come out of the woodwork and start crying.

This is the truth. Has everyone forgot Matt and Trey bet the entire future of their show on Clinton winning in 2016? Because it looks like they did and now they have jump the shark on Twitter outrage just to keep people interested.
If you have to rely on social media references to stay relevant, you aren't relevant
>>
Are the /pol/ kids happy now that South Park is making fun of the left again?
>>
>>104762084
>>104762133
>muh pol boogeyman
your show is garbage, stop deflecting you niggers
>>
>>104762163
You cant really say its a boogeyman when half the threads on /tv/ are politics.
>>
>>104761324
What do you mena by relevant?

You mean how the content relates to modern politics?

Because thats not really what most people mean when they say a show is relevant, they mean it is influencing people, which South Park used to do much more than it does now
>>
>>104761805
Take it a step further
>First three episodes of Season 20 averaged 1.84 million viewers
Half the audience has quit in the last two years
>>
>>104762192
To be fair it's more a reflection of the entire world being political now.
>>
>>104762192
>>104762133
99.999999999% of media attacks one way every fucking day and shields the other.. This is every day. Day in and day fucking out. You don't have to be a le /pol/ booooogeymen to be happy to see something out of the ordinary. But you DO have to be a biased, partisan warrior for social justice to hate that when you see it. A normal fucking person wants a little variety. A normal person likes to stay out of the mind prison of political tribalism. Normal people don't like every form of entertainment to be oozing with one political party's vicious, hateful propaganda with nowhere to turn.
>>
>>104762095
Clinton?
Wait, was she the douche or the turd sandwich?
>>
>>104761324
The reason I'm not watching it is because I got kinda pissed at their new format of continued stories instead of one episode one story

Are they still doing that?

>>
>>104762808
Nah, they ditched that last season, I thought.
You gotta admit that The Lofts at Kenny's House and ShiTiPa were fucking awesome, though.
>>
>>104762808
They're still doing that, but it's been toned down.
>>
>>104762851
>t. no inner monologue
You see, when you throw around the NPC meme all willy-nilly, you show that you have no understanding of it whatsoever.
>>
It's true that everyone ignores school shooting now.
Now fucking disturbing is that?
>>
Donald Drumpf amirite? ;D
>>
>>104761324

South Park hasn’t been relevant since 2003 at least.

This, anyone old enough remembers the amount of South Park merch that was out, it was bigger than Rick & Morty today.

When you mention South Park to the average person they remember Chef and Mr Hanky.
>>
>>104762808
So far this season, almost 95%. Only like one callback to the previous episode and the events of that episode aren't even mentioned.
>>
>>104764460
Funny you mentioned Mr Hanky, they gave him a Chef style sendoff in the last episode.
>>
>>104761805
>>104762236
what have the simpsons ratings been for the past 10 years?
this might just be CC's forever show as everyone transfers to streaming and the networks eventually die
>>
>>104764643
Last season had 4 million viewers, down from the 20 million or so during it's prime. Not bad for a show on it's last legs to be honest.
>>
>>104761324
Parker and Stone are busy producing their musicals.
They have their interns writing the screenplay for the show.
>>
It's dead. Deader than ever.
>>
>>104765378
It's amazing to me, because I've never met anybody who has watched since like season 14 at the latest.

this man is a reddit poster who's feeling got hurt because they made fun of the fat cow that is Roseanne. While ignoring the fact that they portay liberals as whiny little infants.

>>
>>104761324
Last episode was a pretty pathetic display from them, t b h, and not because of the Kavanaugh reference. They're the first people to kick and scream when Comedy Central censors them, but they use the entire episode to basically say "we don't defend Roseanne to protect ourselves because we don't want to be steamrolled by PC babies." Maybe that wasn't their intention, but all I see is two guys who made a career off of ruffling feathers and being controversial who would rather smugly comment from the peanut gallery than actually stand up for their colleagues.
>>
>>104761324
>being relevant is good
Relevance just means that people who weren't alive to experience or don't remember the topics at hand won't understand the show if they try to watch it in the future. The giant douche/turd sandwich episode is timeless because instead of basing it on actual people, it's based on a concept that's applied to arbitrary mascots. I guarantee that most of the zoomers who watch SP now don't understand the "Canada on strike" episode because they focus on the already-dead memes that it referenced.
>>
>>104761324
South Park has never been shittier than it is right now.
Seriously, are they trying to make the worse season ever or what?
I keep stopping the episodes because of the levels of cringyness.
I still have to see episode 3.
>>
>>104761324
it has never been worse either
>>
In all honesty the writing in the show is just really bad. They're so focused on "Oh, they're referencing that thing I saw on the news" that the pacing and storyboard make no sense at all.
>>
PC babies
>>
>>104767512
You're absolutely right about the giant douche/turd sandwich. You can still comment on current affairs by implication as long as you apply the commentary to a more generic/universal setting. Giant douche/turd sandwich was and still is funny because it is relevant to any political event throughout time.
>>
>>104761324
Last two seasons have mostly blown because the creators started to cuck to PC culture, despite starting out by aiming to make a season that is a sendup of PC censorship

they have basically done that forever now, so its no surprise. but im sick of them ripping on one side constantly. pc principle is fucking stupid and every subplot involving him has been fucking stupid. Kenny is basically not a character anymore. it should be called "the randy marsh show" staring cartman, kyle, and butters.
>>
>>104761324
did they just canned mr hankey for a joke about a controvesy of the simpsons?
>>
>>104767718
I think Matt and Trey want out at this point. The show has been so terrible for years. The ratings have plummeted. Big Bang Theory reruns get ten times the ratings and that show is total garbage.

what a shock

I honestly just wish they would do another 3 parter with Kenny or some shit, I wouldn't mind another FPS video game either, I've no interested in the RPGS, I've grown out 'em...

As a conservative I can't watch anything that makes fun of Trump.

I’m a fairly liberal California democrat and even I don’t want to watch political shit. It’s all so fucking tedious and tiresome.
>>
>>104772260
Yea both of these shows are way past their prime, but they are just hell bent on continuing until they are cancelled.
>>
>>104772409
Yea me too. I really don't care what anybody politics are anymore.
