I wasn't really a fan of House. Felt like it had more potential than what was actually delivered. It's fine but it's not something I really have any desire to rewatch. I don't know if the sequels are any better.

Ravenous was great. Tighten up some issues with the soundtrack, and I would have loved it. I actually really like the soundtrack, but there were some instances of bad timing that sounded inappropriate and it brought those scenes down.
Overall, it wasn't quite what I expected and I walked away pleasantly surprised.

House on Haunted Hill was alright. Price is easily the best thing about it. It was more of a thriller or mystery and I didn't know that, so that's my fault. The actual horror scenes, like the ghost or the head, were visually striking and effective, though. The skeleton scene was actually pretty cool, but I couldn't help but laugh. Oh, and the girls were cute.
I think this is the first actual film I've seen him in - otherwise it's just been Scooby Doo and Edward Scissorhands. I've been meaning to watch Witchfinder the past two Octobers and I've got it primed and ready for the coming nights.

>>203714712
What's this called again? I just remembered I left this half-watched last year. I picked it up because of someone posting the scene where he throws the severed head.

Anybody own any Second Sight limited editions, specifically with the books? I'm already planning on buying picrel because it's one of my favorite movies, but I'm considering buying some more, specifically May, Green Room, and It Follows.
I ask about the books because they're the only exclusive features to the limited editions and they cost an extra $20-30. I'll spend that on a well-written book with lots of exclusive coverage of a movie I really like, but I can't really find any opinions online about the quality of the writing in these.
>>
>>203721592

>>
anyone seen the blackwell ghost series? up to 3, seems ok so far
>>
>>203721812
I'm gonna be honest, I have yet to see a 4K disc that was so much better than a bluray using the same master that it would be worth paying more than an extra $2 for. If there's an exclusive master then I'd get it and I know SS had a new 4K DI made for It Follows (and Drive), but I imagine their regular bluray uses the new master as well.
I have some of the Arrow Video books and I like the way they weave together the analysis/interpretation with the story of how the movie was made and the place it has in the director's filmography as a whole. If the Second Sight books are like that I'd like to get some before they become insanely expensive on the resale market, but if they're just loose collections of random critics' ramblings then I don't care.

Other way around. Australia is getting a new set of the first two movies from Imprint with some exclusive bonus features, but it's using the same SD tape source on the first movie as all the previous releases. Britain is getting just the first movie from Second Sight with some exclusive content, including a brand new remaster from the original negatives for the black and white footage and original tapes for the color footage, which previously had framerate issues with the way the old master was created. It also includes an early cut of the movie which is like an hour longer, which I'm not sure if the Australian version includes or not. If you care about ethics, the people who made the first movie are getting screwed over again by the Second Sight release because even though they were the ones who assembled the new remaster, SS basically just thanked them for handing it over instead of paying them since legally they only had to pay the rights holders (Lionsgate).

Actually not very much, at least I know Oddity doesn’t. It was a few months ago when I watched Stopmotion and while I thought it was “good” it was pretty forgettable. It’s just good for a year that’s not really popping with great horrors I suppose.

I see, thanks anon. Agreed that horror isn't really "popping" this year.
Maybe I'll watch In A Violent Nature, I know that has gore. I'll check out Abigail too since you said it's the best one. I liked Ready or Not by the same directors but hated Scream 6. This looks more like Ready or Not so maybe it'll be good.

I live in New Hampshire and as repetitive as it gets that almost every movie or TV show set here involves witches I really can't blame Hollywood because of how many witches I personally know without even trying to find them. The place is crawling with them and I don't think you could avoid them if you tried. Stereotypes are annoying but they're definitely true.
