I finished up with Fright Night 2, which was disappointing, but fun in its way. But now is the time for CRIME muthafuckas, starting with Guns, Girls, and Crime (1959)! I always feel like it's such a pity I can't get the steam going on Noirvember (I expand it to include crime from all eras). I sure as hell can't get any headway here on Explocember (action movies), but that's okay, it's just for me and my bro to enjoy, I guess.

I really think 100+ movies in three months is too much for most people. So I must not be a normie after all . . .
>>
I watched Lowlifes. It was okay. Could've used some pointless nudity.
>>

The Invisible Man (1933). One of the best films in the Universal Monsters library. Short as hell, and NOBODY acts like a moron. It's like the Dracula novel, where everybody is taking every advantage they can to WIN, and they don't just act retarded to move the plot. I also love how the treatment that makes the guy invisible is like super-meth, and gives him these insane delusions of grandeur so that he's a bigger, more murderous psycho than any other monster.
>>

Here's what I watched this October, I tried my best:
Alien(all the movies)
Black Phone 2
Brain Freeze
ChadGetsTheAxe
Dead Set
Do not Enter
Final Destination Bloodlines
Good Boy
Hellhouse Lineage
Here for Blood
Hidden
Livestream
MadS
MKHEXE
Rammbock
Ravenous
Smile 2
Solvent
Strange Frenquencies
Strange Harvest
Terraformars
The Elixir
The Rezort
VHS Halloween
Yummy
I think I liked all of them, some more than others, except Hellhouse Lineage, man that was BAD, there was some tension on the first scene but the scene turned out to be lame and that was the BEST moment of the entire movie, almost 2 hours of watching paint dry, how do you even make something THIS BAD.
>... they are twins... everything is connected... OMG MITCHEL
Yeah sure, if only the movie slightly elaborated on WHY SHOULD I GIVE A SHIT.

Anyways, Yummy would have been my top pick if it wasn't for such an underwhelming ending, I say Good Boy was my favorite overall but since someone is going to call me homosexual for that, I guess I go for Alien Resurrection.

I'm at this point. I've seen too many kinos and genuine classics, and now I'm wading through modern slop, obscure indies and forgotten giallo trying to find any hidden gems. once you come to the realization that you've seen all the genuine kino, watching horror just becomes endless disappointment. it'll be a dark day when I finally run out of jesus franco and 70-80's exploitation.

My dog is whimpering, begging to be fed. All my food has rotted in the fridge. All I need are my big bag of peanuts and my Severin blu-rays. The horrorthon WILL continue into November. I was a Nancyfag in the first movie but in the third movie I am a Kristenfag. Nancy was barefoot throughout the first movie but she has a debuff in this movie because she's wearing shoes. Meanwhile Kristen is in her cute socks for the whole movie (Taryn too), so she's a clear winner for me. Her recast, Tuesday Knight, is also a cutiepie in 4.

The ending deeply disturbed me as a kid, it sticks with you. Martyrs had a bigger effect than any other horror movie because it depressed me for the rest of the evening. The pointless evil of torture. Chances are thousands of people are being tortured right now, worse than in the movie. It's sad.
>>
>>215640655
As cool as this transition is, one thing I didn't like about the Hellraiser II lore is that instead of being tortured and morphed over millennia, as you'd expect from their backstory, it happens in an instant.
It's helpful for Channard's transition but idk, it's a case of what you don't see is more unnerving. At least for Channard he disappears into some weird death elevator.

Making it try and stick to the gamer lore makes it weirdly unique. Like in the middle they're like, "Wow so ghost children are making the animatroncs move?". All I could think was how the fuck would anyone come to that conclusion. If you gave me 100 attempts, that would not be one of them. It's not even clear they aren't just really good animatronics.

>Still no remake
>>
>>215642443
They originally were going for two films but decided against it. Then when 2018 was a big hit, they filmed Kills/Ends at the same time.
Visually I think all three work well, the blame is purely on the writing team imo. It would not take much to fix Kills, but Ends needed to be completely re-written.

I'm reposting this list I made in another thread because I'm curious to see if you guys have any recommendations for a very specific type of subgenre. Namely, the ones involving a cast of characters being caught isolated in extreme circumstances, usually besieged by some malevolent force, and they have to figure out how to get out of it.

>Poseidon Adventure
>Romero's trilogy
>Zombi 2
>Return of the Living Dead
>Tremors
>Demons 1 and 2
