The only thing I didn't like about the sequel is that it falls for the same trap that a lot of found footage horror does where the designated camera guy is completely useless and never helps out or defends himself because he has to film the movie and the audience has to be able to actually see what's going on most of the time in the finished product. This worked far better in the first REC because it was just a camera man civilian and the "zombies" were so fast and aggressive that the threat of getting bit even a single time means it was better to just run away if you didn't have guns which none of them did except the police man. But the sequel follows a SWAT team who for some reason has a guy on their team whose only purpose is to film his team constantly they didn't even give him a gun even though everyone else also had cameras hidden in their helmets and were all armed but could still film everything just fine. Just really dumb but it's a fun watch and the ending is really good for the horror factor. It's actually worth a watch unlike the other two sequels.

This is the same problem that Tales From The Crypt had as they were adapting stories from the comics which would make great 5-15 minute long short films but had to commit to a 30 minute running time with a lot of unnecessary bloat. This is why Night Gallery had the right idea of making them an hour long where you could have two or three stories in each episode that don't wear out their welcome.The opposite to that are shows like The Outer Limits that would make hour long episodes that take too much time to get anywhere. The OG Twilight Zone did this in season 4 but afterwards went back to 30 minutes because they realized that Horror is at its best when tightly constructed because the longer something goes on for, the bigger the payoff has to be and was usually unsatisfying. But with 30 minutes you use Act 1 to introduce the characters and the situation they're in with Act 2 escalating events before Act 3 resolves it with no time to bore the audience in-between!!!FACT!!!
