shit's entertaining but trying to mix all the Predator timelines and lore into one single story makes it all kind of mess
>>
So after watching VHS Halloween, I decided I would go ahead and watch all of the VHS movies that came out after viral and rank them. Objectively speaking, here are the rankings from best to worse

>VHS2
>VHS1
>VHS Halloween (carried hard by 1 segment)
>VHS Beyond
>VHS 85
>Vhs 99
>Vhs viral
>Vhs 94

I cannot understand why people think 94 is good. Every segment needs to be reworked and the best segment according to consensus has only 1 terrifying scene that just has the monster stay still for a few seconds. I was not all impressed by it. A bear watching from the treeline is more intimidating than that. Bonestorm mogs it completely.

As for the best entry, well 2 is a straight up improvement on 1. Looking at the best segments, safe haven or alien slumber party both clear the siren chick and lesbian killer from 1.

Beyond is a serviceable decent entry all around. Can't go wrong with showing it at a party.

Perhaps next year will be better than before. I hope so. Someone should edit the best VHS segments into 1 custom wraparound story that makes sense. That would be the best VHS entry by far.

...While simultaneously ignoring key lore like their only showing up during warm spells and being vulnerable to cold. AVP kind of fucked this. Prey pushed it a bit more and now we've got them operating unhindered in conditions that should've killed the human let alone one of them.
And don't get me started on the pistol. That thing gets around more than a cheap hooker.

You can't recover detail from blacks. If a movie is under exposed, the parts that crashed to black have no image in them. If a scene is over exposed/blown out/too bright, some of the details are still there if you up the exposure.

Based George Romero
>As zombie chaos envelops the city, actor-comedian Margaret Cho makes a grand entrance on an electric scooter, with a posse in tow.
>“I’m so psyched that she said yes to this,” Tina Romero says. “Margaret Cho is very meaningful to me on a few levels."
>“When I came out to my dad, I was in college ... and he was very cool about it. He was like ‘men are a--holes anyway. That’s great.’ And a couple months later, he booked us tickets to go see Margaret Cho on tour in Pittsburgh. I felt at the time that this was his way of saying ‘I accept you, I’m gonna take you to see Margaret Cho because she’s a very out and proud bisexual,’ and she did not shy from talking about queer shit, even back then. And it was always very meaningful to me.
>“He took me to see that, and he took me to see a stage production of ‘Hedwig and the Angry Inch.’ And in these ways, I felt like he was saying, like, ‘hey kid, it’s OK. It’s OK that you’re gay. I see you, and it’s OK.’ And so when I had the opportunity to work with (Cho) now, on this level, it felt so special.”

the mousey thief girl is kinda cute, but she wears way more layers than a polar explorer, and there’s no fanservice or any hint of romance at all

+ interesting setting
+ cosmic horror is back bb
+ some cool visuals and score

- those two can't act FOR SHIT
- sketchy CGI
- inside scenes look like they take place in some guy's garage
- tedious

Showing the same events multiple times, only to then show them all together as some kind of grand reveal, was a complete waste of time and bogged the entire thing down.

Seventh Son is in that same dark fantasy genre as >>215871364 but crossed up with D&D level stuff.
The Headhunter looks like it might fit. Possibly light on the sorcery though.
There's one called Witch Hunter from last year I was thinking of watching but I just noticed it's from The Asylum.
Maybe some of the Beowulf adaptations.

What did you think of Victor Frankenstein (2015) when it came out?
>>
>>215878423
Boring, honestly. And I like Max Landis. We just don't need another Frankenstein movie. It was literally the first horror feature and it's been done to death.
>>
>>215878423
Dull. Tries too hard to be like the RDJ Sherlock movies. Outside the original the only ones I like are the Hammer ones

Betty Boop Getting Feminist Horror Film

>Jessica Russo, COO of VMI, said in a statement. “Boop’s dark history is extremely grim, but this telling allows her to get her power back. A true testament to feminism led by a predominantly female team.”

Will it work?

I saw it in the theater and at the time I thought it was okay but since then, I've liked it more. Can't say the same about the subsequent Romero zombie movies. Stinkers. However, NOTLD, Dawn, Day.. I lost count how many times I've seen those. Land of the Dead I've seen maybe 4 or so times, that's it.

What did you think of I, Frankenstein (2014) when it came out?
>>

i was so underwhelmed that i refused to watch it

To be fair they did just cast Linda Cardellini as Mrs. Voorhees earlier this year.
>>
>>215879855
For real? Might watch it now.
>>
>>215880027
Yes it was confirmed by Deadline: http://www.fridaythe13thfranchise.com/2025/03/linda-cardellini-officially-signs-on-to.html
They're going all in on this Jason Universe thing and are gearing up for a franchise revival all coming very soon from the looks of it.

Total dementkino. It's one of those movies where the less you know about it, the better.

I find that difficult to believe about Aaron Paul unless he was just phoning it in. I know this board hates Breaking Bad but he was legitimately great as Jesse and the show would've likely died if they had actually gone through with killing him off at the end of the first season had it not been for the writer's strike forcing them to re-evaluate everything.

We need one (1) actually horror leaning new Frankenstein film. I'm talking a walking abomination of sewn flesh and animals so ghastly that he steals every scene he's in with the sheer creepy factor of his putrescence.
Also, imo this is the only real way to sell the idea of man as the real monster. Only when people feel a true abomination can they see that it's creation was wrong.

As far was VF 2015, eh Radcliffe and McAvoy are great actors and it had a good budget but something wasn't clicking. Didn't hate it but it was just kind of there.
