This is clearly not the same house. The stair landing is not the same length, the hallway width is not the same. They either did some major revision, or this is just a house with a similar layout

modern housing is still pretty shit though
>>
>>215878799
It's either not the same house or it has been shipped of Theseus including the structure.
However quite representative of the houses marketed to the upper class 35 years apart.
I wonder when we will drop the half hospital room half apple store memestetics.

2024 house looks like a psych ward.
>>
>>215879680
>The stair landing is not the same length, the hallway width is not the same
The only real difference I see is the floor to the second set of stairs. The hallway (and the rest of the house) looks roomier because it's painted white. That's a trick real estate agents use to make rooms look bigger.

And btw, the house in the exterior shots in Chicago is not the house they filmed inside. The interior stage was in California if memory serves me right.

t. Coping Mexican redditor who tells people he’s “Spanish”

It’s the aesthetic itself, not the particular furnishings, that is the problem.

>>
>>215879922
Yes, they renovated the staircase (look at the ramp) and knocked the door ans doorframe down. Also, the photos are shots with different lenses and they're not taken from the same spots, so no shit it looks a bit different. And the movie was made fucking 35 years ago, you think the house would be stuck looking like it's late 80s John Hughes movie?

It doesn't. They filmed inside of the house and they made a huge deal about it.

only poors and grandmas had houses that look like that and it was gross to kids

These LED street lights annoy me to no end. Technically, and scientifically, they're supposed to be better, but they just don't feel like it. There's this harsh contrast between the blinding LED and the darkness surrounding it. It's like getting flash banged repeatedly and your eyes never get to adjust.

The sodium lamps though had a weird consistency to them. On average, they're objectively worse than LED lamps, but there was a strange consistent light/tone to everything. It's hard to describe, but I honestly feel like I can see more under sodium lamps compared to the whiplash of LED lights
