There are plenty of shows and movies that are great until the ending ruins it.

Is there any examples of the opposite, a terrible movie or show but the ending redeems it?

Yes, ‘Philadelphia’ starring Tom Hanks.

Mulholland Drive

Better call Saul. It was always shit but the fan boys denied it, then the ending hit and it was so fucking bad it was great, it work up all the ‘muh slow burn character study’ faggots

Bojack Horseman is mediocre and is really only redeemed by 3 or 4 really really high quality episodes on the back half of the final season

Gurren Lagann's ending was so unbelievably good that it made everyone forget like 3/4 of the show was boring as hell

Christmas Evil (1980)
One of the best AND most out-of-nowhere twist-endings in film, and it's in a low-budget early bandwagon-jumper into the Slasher Boom.

It went from a 6/10 to a 9/10 for me and I still remember it years after watching it
It has the most ridiculous ending I've ever witnessed

Not the best answer because it didn't start terrible but The Penguin

Show starts at a 5/10 and steadily improves to 10/10 by the finale.

Breathless is super boring until the last 5 minutes

The Curse
