Batman Begins is alright. It's a good superhero flick.
Dark Knight Rises is campy fun.
Dark Knight is the worst one because it's genuinely stupid material taking itself as seriously as possible.
They're watchable once and a while if you're in the mood.

Dark knight is genuinely fantastic, begins is decent and has fantastic set design but rises is pretty weak.

I watched the first two recently, the first one is pretty good, the second one has a lot of flaws but its chaotic rythm forces you to not look very deep into them.

The 3rd one I haven't seen it ever because I know it's shit, I have immaculate taste in movies and that's why I trust my judgement.

No. BNR is just a 2 hour toy commercial with a half-assed script and a completely inconsistent tone where half the cast were going full camp and the other half just seemed confused. It's still watchable because the art direction, set design and costumes are crazy good and Schwarzenegger thankfully is one of the guys who got the joke and played it right but overall it's meh as fuck.

>BNR is just a 2 hour toy commercial with a half-assed script and a completely inconsistent tone where half the cast were going full camp
So a perfect and accurate representation of a comic book?

>>220684773
Wrong. The comics, usually being written by one person with a lot of creative control were usually completely consistent. When they were goofy they knew it and unapologetically leaned into it, at least on a per-issue basis.

BNR is schizo. It's still piggybacking off the Burton continuity despite being the polar opposite of those films in terms of vibe and aesthetics, it has villains that are 1000% unserious cartoon characters but all 3 of the main protagonists give inexplicably serious straight-faced (but not deadpan) performances, even when their lines are overtly comedic. The "Alfred is dying" plot is like something out of an entirely different film, Bane is a blank fucking slate that didn't even need to be there....it's a mess. It's so retarded you can only take it as a comedy but it's not consistently funny or intentionally humorous.

Now, if you said the Adam West show was an accurate representation of the goofy Batman era, that would have been correct.
>>
>>220685127
all comics are dumb shit and Batman and Robin is the perfect quintessence of capeshit

All are silly but 1 was stupid confused trash and 2 had its moments but took itself too seriously and dragged overlong. At least Bane was a proper comic book antagonist.
>>
Dark Knight was only ever liked by Amerimutss thanks to its pro-police, pro-facist, pro-surveillence elements.
>>
>>220682350
Actually Batman Begins aged incredibly well and will be remembered as the standard for this character for decades to come.

Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises are both pulpy action movies and that's fine, but they don't hold a candle to the masterpiece that is "Begins".
>>
>>220687061
>pro-surveillence
uhhh, I'd argue no on this point. It definitely was critical of the post-9/11 surveillance state with Morgan Freeman protesting and shutting down Wayne's perv cave but otherwise, it was a very pro-cop movie.

>>

Begins and knight aged fine, rises was bad from the moment it released
>>
>>220682401
Yes.

Jack Nicklebacks Joker was so weak, when boomers heard the name Joker, they immediately pictured caesar Ramero.

Ledger completely btfo that imagine and redefined the chracter for generations... and no only children thought of animated series Joker
>>
>>220682350
TDKR was considered shit right as people left the theater. Even most normies saw it as the shlock it was.
>>
>>220682401
his Joker was unironically the best part of the series. everybody thought the asian shit in the first movie was weird and it was really refreshing to have a villain like him, killing your own henchmen and not caring about money was a pretty new and gruesome concept for normies.
Rises was shit on when it released

2 is carried by Heath’s Joker. A lot of the script and dialogue is really bad, and the plot hinges on everything going perfect for the joker to an insane extent.

Begins is ok but Rises is genuinely a terrible movie.
>>
>>220687509
you will never understand why
>>
>>220682350
All three are transformers tier trash dressed up as prestige cinema. I do find them all watchable but it’s shame the scripts (and Batman and banes voices) weren’t fixed because they could’ve been genuinely great.
>>
>>220682401
it was breddy good as a teenager but also ruined the character forever after
>>
>>220682401
He over acted and was corny, the only reason he is remembered is because he died shortly after. Bane was a better villain and Tom Hardy is a much better actor than Heath Ledger.
>>
>>220687414
the first act of begins is unfiltered kino. ironically, the movie goes down hill only after he becomes batman.
>>
>>220687546
>A lot of the script and dialogue is really bad
I saw the "die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain" quote before I ever watched the movie, I was genuinely dumbfounded at how out of place it was in the actual movie. I know having Harvey say it foreshadows his heel turn but it would've been better if Alfred said it after the fact or something, it's so out of place.
>>
>>220682401
It’s the only reason to watch any of those movies.
Nolan Batman is overwrought and up its own ass
>>
>>220689530

We get it, you don't get out much and don't meet normal people. Your letterboxd provides invaluable insights and the medium of cinema will one day thank you for your efforts. That evil right winger Nolan should've been our father figure, but since he chose not to be, we'll show him.

Batman Begins is structurally ok. My issue with it is that Nolan is a retard, and decided to use one of the most supernatural villains for his grounded and realistic take on Batman. Dark Knight is fine if you turn your brain off. I do hate the art direction with Gotham just being Chicago, but that's just another one of Nolan's flaws around his hate boner for cgi. Dark Knight Rises is unwatchable for a long list of reasons.
>>
>>220682350
nope, very problematic
>>
>>220682401
He’s the only thing loose and fun in an otherwise stiff flick. It’s impossible to mess up The Jokeler. Even Useful Sir’s Joker was decently cool in the 2 seconds of screentime he had.

started rewatching these
Batman Begins was not nearly as good as I remember, The Dark Knight was almost as good as I remember. Yes it's overrated, but not by much. Haven't gotten around to revisiting BANE yet.
Also Gotham Knight is a kino anthology even though it doesn't really fit the world of Nolan's batman like it's supposed to.
