Do you guys think “the backrooms” has any potential? I’m genuinely not sure. The zoom zoom director was born the year I graduated high school. I like the mythos (from what I’ve read anyway) definitely has potential but IDK. Also lol at that stupid picture with him and the guy who did obsession, that weirdo from Dead Meat. That dude is weird as fuck, like skeletons in his closet vibe, his wife too. Wouldn not be the least bit surprised if those two get exposed for something weird
>>220693616I don't think the year the director was born in has an impact on the film quality unless he's like 19.That said, it's going to be shit. It's based on a 4chan creepypasta.
>>22069361650/50. I'm not sure it'll survive the transition to a full length film. You need more than a concept and a jumpscare to do that, you need a story arc.Introducing two main characters is probably smart to pad it out. But he needs to invent something new and exciting for how it progresses. The short had an great ending, but the film would need something else.

>>220692864Really well paced, great gore effects, well done stop motion, fun cast - I enjoyed it.Also like Puppet Master it had this dreamy operatic soundtrack.I wonder if it had an influence on Child's Play, or if that was already written? The flesh inside dolls part was a core (and excellent) twist in both.
>>220694055Also this chick had the kind of nip slip that makes me think Stuart Gordon pulled the "no no, we'll totally cut that out" trick.
>>220692357>>220692335Just finished The Beast Within. I'd forgotten about the opening scene, which is a flashback where a woman gets raped by a werewolf which leads to the lead beast played by Paul Clemens who does a terrific job. Unfortunately, the pacing thereafter gets pretty bogged down by the sheriff and other townsfolk "investigating things". I wouldn't mind if it'd been more sporadic, but it's literally every other scene. Also, I must've fast-forwarded to the end when I watched it before, because the special effect like in picrel only show up in the last 20 mins, which is pure kino. Oh yeah, and he had a cutie gf played by Katherine Moffat. Other than that, I can't really give it a full recommend, but it's not awful. Anyway, tomorrow I'll put on Savage Weekend or Valley of Death (or perhaps both), which hopefully ends up better.
>>220694165Nice, thank you. Added.

What some movies that you have to know about if you're gonna claim to be a horror fan? I think Popcorn is up there. Also "Night Of The Creeps" if you don't like that movie, you don't like horror.

Mainland China needs to fucking stop with these giant creature CGI movies. The CGI is always shit and never gets better. How can a country of allegedly 1 billion people not have a few that are great at CGI creation?Anyway, which of the Big Snake series is your favorite?>Snake (2018)>Snake 2 (2019)>Snake 3: Dinosaur vs. Python (2022)>Snake 4: The Lost World (2023)>Snake 5: Monster City (2026)
Yo, this shit is awesome. Why did I took so long to give it a watch?
>>220694821For me, it's Dog Soldiers.
>>220694821There are different tiers of progression in horror fandom and I'd put the three movies mentioned so far at a sophomore level, and even then it isn't necessary to like every movie to be within a tier, just to have watched it. I don't think a person can claim to be a horror fan if they haven't seen Saw, but I fucking hate that movie. I think you have to see Nosferatu '22 also, but can understand not enjoying a silent movie. I think the main qualification for being a fan is openness and trying something out even if you think you might dislike it.
>>220694964Do you think Creepshow is up there?
>>220695014Yeah, at sophomore level probably. Creepshow 2 is junior, lol.I started a list matching particular movies to every level of education last week in response to another /hor/ thread but got bored and trashed it. I started with The Count segments of Sesame Street at preschool level, lol.

>>220696136I will never be a woman, as they say. I've been watching horror for decades and this just happens to be the movie that disturbed me the most. >>220696183What's there to explain? The scenario and events are grotesque and /hor/rifying, and the whole thing feels grounded and believable. Gore and supernatural shit doesn't really do it for me anymore for the most part. There are exceptions though, like in that movie Thelma where the protagonist is jealous of a girl so there's a scene in her apartment where all of a sudden you see her fly out of the window, screaming, before the sound cuts out completely and the window goes back to the way it was before, but the girl is gone. Where is she? In some pocket dimension to float for all eternity? Or just dead. Either way the way it's handled has always stuck with me, not even a horror film just a spooky concept that someone could condemn another person to eternal suffering or non existence at a whim to gratify their selfish desires. Anyway fuck the doubters, I'm outtie, gonna go watch Leprechaun.

Are there literally no zoomer horror movies with nudity in them? Like what gives. That safe edgy shit like Terrifier casts a smoking hot Italian bitch with a killer bod, and the best we get is a tease in the shower. I think someone’s gotta make a slasher , something really low budget, and try to find some big breasted onlyfans zoomettes who are comfortable being naked on camera to act in it. Seems like the only way forward.
>>220696310>>220696400I am a guy, but I saw the opportunity to shitpost and went with it. My choice still stands though.
>>220696532Those low budget movies do exist but only giga bogged girls ever seem to star in them. Meanwhile you can throw a stone online and hit some natural slim zoomette with a failed onlyfans. idgi.
>>220694821>you're gonna claim to be a horror fanWhy?
>>220696585Probably because those zoomettes with failed OF accounts 1. Can't act for shit. 2. Want an exorbitant amount of paypig money to even consider agreeing, especially if you want them to get naked on cam. There's a reason why their OFs failed anon
>>220696585>>220696659It’s still a fun idea. Also as far as body horror goes. Imagine super schlocky, gross out body horror movie about roasties getting BBLs in Miami or something on spring break. The main roastie maybe is a white Stacy who goes to ASU and is on spring break with her roastie whore sorority sisters
>>220696945Hang it up grem, you've been spamming all night.
>>220691757for me it was either the ep with orange is the new black girl or the one with the asian girl who stole the life of her fren. Shit made me think a lot
>>220696532They're not great movies (horror-wise) but Steve Wolsh's films Muck (2015), Fog City (2023) and Kill Her Goats (2023) are pretty much nothing but hot girls getting naked/undressing or just wearing revealing outfits. He's also directing the new Return of the Living Dead, which hopefully follows this trend.

Aside from some occasionally interesting aesthetics, there wasn't much to it and I think he went a bit too far trying to "explain" the lore and mystery. Maybe the movie will be different, but I suspect it will be one of those movies with a really intriguing and tense first half that just devolves into nonsensical chaos in the second half, but we'll see

>>220701335Flesh of My Flesh tells the story of three mothers investigating the disappearance of a teenage girl. It’s described as “a realistic and unsparing portrait of evil in its most unsettling form: everyday, unsuspected, the evil next door” as well as a “deliberate departure from Argento’s signature atmospheric horror.” The film “marks a new register for the maestro’s storytelling.”The Girl With Crystal Eyes follows the encounter between a charming businessman and a mysterious woman whose passion drags him into a spiral of tragic murders. The Black Velvet Mask explores the minds of three young women from different social backgrounds and origins, united by the same nightmare: a man in a black velvet mask assaults them and throws them from a balcony. I watched Lee Cronin's Mummy.I wasn't sure what to expect going in. I was pleasantly surprised by the opening 30 minutes. But I was also kind of annoyed because I feel like the key to making a good horror is that the victims 'sort of' deserve it (not always obviously). And the family did nothing wrong. It's like "here's a nice, normal family, now watch as their daughter gets kidnapped for 8 years lmao".But after that it just gets boring and they constantly act like retards. "Hey, she just headbutted her grandma and can't talk. Maybe we should like take her to a special centre or something?" "Nah""Okay so she just bit into her dead grandma's neck (and btw not totally convinced she didn't have something to do with killing her) and then drank the oozing embalming fluid from her in front of all the guests. And our younger daughter just tried to murder one of our guests, also by biting him in the neck. Do you think maybe we should do literally anything?" Yeah okay let's lock her in her room and wonder what to do next"And don't even get me started on the Egyptian cop. I guess in Egypt there's literally no due process?I feel like it had a lot of potential but like it was just kind of shit. Shame.
>>220702175You're not wrong, but you're overthinking it. It was just meant to be a purposefully gross and offputting body horror/splatter movie. >>220705702Bold of you to assume I haven't seen it already.
>>220705054But not Body Double?
>>220705702I will check it out but she’s not attractive.
>>220705752I'd say that's more slasher than giallo. Dressed to Kill and especially Blow Out have the black gloved killers using razors and ice picks and stuff. The one scene in Blow Out where the killer takes the ice pick, stalks the lady, and then kills is shot and framed identically to a giallo.
>>220697956hmmm some positive news for that film then
>>220705704I don't know, but now I wanna watch The Mangler 1 and 2. I don't think I ever saw 2.
>>220702015Would have been better as a ghost film and not demonslop
>>220705968Based
>>220705828De Palma stuff is similar to giallo because both were directly and deeply inspired by Hitchcock but I think it was independently of each other.
>>220705702other anon here. If you liked real one take in Victoria, try Nightride from Stephen Fingleton (the director that made The Survivalist kino)
This is her now pretty much. Do above looking average females ever age gracefully? She looked pretty terrible in Dark Glasses even though I enjoyed that movie immensely. Dario Argento doesn’t make bad movies. Also, on my instagram, the best looking girl on it I have had on it since 2018, well, she aged out. And guess what? She got implants, and botox and lip fillers. She is only like 28 now too. Looks fucked now.
>>220704835I need to rewatch Suspiria, I get the feeling I'll still pick The Beyond though. I just love that shit even though some of the special effects are disgusting. Not like I'm watching gore, like I'm looking at food that's gone off or something.
>>220706778> Do above looking average females ever age gracefully? No, they don’t.
>>220702175Them portraying Egypt as an underdeveloped shithole with 80s level tech was certainly an interesting choice. Stilling using DOS computers and VHS tapes.
>>220707803Weirdly enough, it was actually the corded landline phone that made me pause(but I also love the she couldn't just record the screen on her phone and then text the video to him, so instead she had to buy a plane ticket)
One of the many fun things about being a mentally disturbed raging alcoholic is that sometimes you watch a movie and don't remember doing so. So you get to rewatch it.Like now I'm going to watch Shelby Oaks, which I've apparently seen twice before. No I haven't.
>>220701910I have this on my watchlist. I've only seen the shitty VHS rip on YouTube, but the HD upgrade looks like a worthy rewatch.
>>220708005Good for you, its rather enjoyable. Right now I'm pushing through Faces of Death
>>220702175>I feel like the key to making a good horror is that the victims 'sort of' deserve it I don't think this is true but I understand why you're reaching for it. In the original Evil Dead for example none of the characters deserve anything (well, Scott is a bit of an asshole). But I'm circling around the idea Cronin's characters have no light to them. There's only defeated sadness, frailty, worry, increasingly hopeless attempts at putting the pieces of their lives back together. Also the losses they face aren't just friends, they're children, and perhaps our minds just sequester them differently. Most films feature absurd turns of acceptance -> courage -> fight that fly under the radar to suspend disbelief.Like a lot of endings the final girl might kiss a hero, when in real life if someone's entire friend group had been massacred they would be uncontrollably hysterical. In Cronin's films, I'm pretty sure there's never even slivers of hope or relief for the characters until the very end.
>>220708005you'll probably wish you were drunk for the second half because it sucked

It's finally time. If this isn't one of the best found footage movies ever I'm going weeb hunting.
>>220709716it's quite unique, not really a standard ff horror
>>220709716I'm convinced the director put loud jumpscares into the movie on purpose to wake people up and keep them from sleeping through the whole movie. If you have insomnia, this is the movie for you.
>>220709716Cool. Is this on the popular streaming sites?
>>220710382pretty sure it's on youtube
>>220709716Never seen this one but Noroi is pure kino. Probably the best use of the found footage format I've seen.

>>220712436sorry i for one am glad terrifier 4 is taking a while to make. 3 was clearly rushed and suffered for it. It was missing an entire chapter and the director even said that Cineverse told him to keep it under 2 hours and he was ripping pages out of the script.
>>220712403Kino. I just ordered a NECA Alien actually.>>220712480Don't apologize to that gremlin.
>>2207124802 was reddit3 was woke and reddit 4, pass.
>>220712480The whole going to get the sword thing? Was that confirmed? Maybe some stuff was being held for the next film.idk it was already long as fuck already I think that was the main issue.

>>220712621You look like a redditor?
>>220712503ty fren. Big Chap looks great and is the only NECA alien I've had that didnt give issues >>2207125103 was indeed a bit woke, how do you have two people inside a shower, completely naked, getting disembowled by chainsaws, and not show any nudity? why go all out if you arent going to make it raw? also there were 3 female deaths as opposed to like 14 male deaths. he went way overboard because everyone was calling the movies misogynistic. Damien Leone claims he never intended for Art to target women, but thats a damn lie. All Hallows Eve made it clear he targeted women with the "pig bitch slut whore cunt" carvings, and Terrifier 1 is clearly him targeting women EVEN MORE, the Call of Duty Terrifier skin EVEN SAYS "he prefers women"Why cant the evil killer be a mysoginist? Isnt that more scary? Its this culture where people want to root for the villians but cant handle if is heckin racist or sexist >>220712535He didnt confirm what he took out, but he did confirm that Cineverse told him to keep it under 2 hours and that he was, quote, "ripping pages out" to keep it under 2 >>220712621I look like this and act like this
>>220712751despite all that I personally think T3 was the best so far even though I was a big fan of 1 when it came out.

>>220712751This is why he is banned here.
>>220712774Yes I will agree, there was just something about that first time seeing 2 in theatres on the day it came out. Leading right off of 1 was fun.3 being shot on film helps, it looks great. I'm an actual incel-chud so I just cant get over the blatant pandering to the "terrifier is mysoginistic" people. I wonder how they will handle Siennas cousin "Gabby" actress aging up before they shoot 4. They confirmed the movie will take place around new years eve, which means it will probably take place a few days after the end lf 3.So, Gabby falls into hell with the sword. Sienna goes to hell to resue her. They escape using a rocketship to the moon. Unironically. In 3 they made it a whe scene about "sienna and gabby in a cardboard rocketship to the moon"thats how they'll escape hell. its gonna connect to all hallows eve too. screencsp this.i am in the top 5% smartest terrifier fans.
>>220712931Not interested
>>220712751Terrifier is safe edgyslop for reddit basedlennial beardoids, and zoom zoom beaners who smell like shitty weed. Expected anything actually offensive from that guido fag Damien Leone is fucking silly. Can you imagine if Art murdered an interracial couple with mixed kids? Or some tranny. Damien Leone would lose his career.
70s giallos so comfy
>>220713173> Can you imagine if Art murdered an interracial couple with mixed kids? Or some tranny. He wouldn’t dare to that, he is a cuck now.
>>220713173Ehh, the first movie had him kill a tranny, skin it, then parade around wearing its hair and nipples, prancing around like a woman in a mocking way.But I know what you mean. I lost most interests in terrifier when a new employee started, and stunk like absolute fucking shit. Gag inducing stink, ruins the room for an hour kind of stink. He wore a Terrifier shirt every day.
>>220712931I can't believe people are invested enough to know the character names for this shit. There's no story whatsoever it might as well just be the torture scenes presented as a Family Guy montage. WOAH LAWIS THIS REMINDS ME OF THAT TIME I SAWED A WOMANS FACE OFF AND FED IT TO A DAGH
>>220713209And that roastie is hitting the wall. They didn’t show full frontal puh when it would have made sense. Dami isn’t dropping Shart the clown part 4 until like 2027, and I doubt there’s gonna be anything else. Terrifier 3 had that 10/10 blonde smoke show and barely showed anything. I hate the antichrist and roasties
Terrifier movies are garbage with zero substance
>>220713255agreed anon. agreed.>>220713240I remember her name.
Just watched When Evil Lurks (2023). I don't get why it was so hyped. Dumbass characters, mediocre writing, and rules that don't matter or seem contrived. It was a below-average, 4/10 horror. Some good deaths, I guess, but I've always maintained that if a film can't frighten people through dread and relies on gore, then it's not a great horror.
Kill Terrifier fans.
>>220713307You’re a fucking pedophile piece of shit. Fuck sickos man.
