Ultimately I think the script changes were for the best. Karl Urban as Johnny didn’t work for me at all though.

I'm happy Lui didn't die gruesomely, although a CGI slopfest with revenants in the nether realm seems pretty lame I agree with you on Urban. One of itf not the best actor in the movie, but I can't really buy Johnny as a 50+ year old man with a flabby neck.

I miss the aesthetic of the 1995 movie. Big wide open sets, with the MK symbol being in the middle of the arenas. The 90s dance tracks dropping when people start fighting. Everything now just is weak energy.

I hate this movie so much. it was really shit writing.why is shao Kahn fighting in the tournament? and losing to Cole, if it wasn't for his bullshit invincibility medallion thing. I cannot believe we have a movie called Mortal Kombat without all the losing characters dying. I don't give a shit if the games has friendships or mercy endings just awful.
