The episode where Dukat and Kira work together to capture a Klingon Bird of Prey is so good.
>>221040361It truly is, but bittersweet too as that's the last time Dukat has a chance to change his ways. Next time he shows up is Purgatory.

Garak is not the person he used to be. He is not going to help you but take advantage of you. His influence on you is not good. I cannot give you all the details here. What he says will always make you feel insecure and he's trying to draw you & others into homosexuality.
>>221041328I preferred Seven's personality in these earlier episodes of season 4. Lots more vulnerability, and Ryan played it so well. That little bit of uncertainty and timidness she would put into her voice really sold how she was struggling away from the collective. So much more compelling when they remembered she was basically still a child instead of just making her always hyper competent because "I was Borg."
>>221041252Ellison is barely jewish

I think the entire reason they want Garak to be gay is because of his daddy issues
>>221041792That's not it. Something about the actor and writes initially making him gay, then peddling back as executives and Berman got the shakes for fear of censorship and bad press. I'm sure the little-known history of how Garak became a queer icon can be found somewhere if you look hard enough.
>>221041893Garak was banging his house maid behind his father's back, that is canonical
>>221041792Tain should have just been his non-family mentor who groomed him. their whole relationship gave off that vibe to be before they revealed they were father and son, which was extremely fucking lame.
>>221041893Queers didn’t even discover sci-fi until like 2011
>>221041893no, what happened is that people started coming up to Andy at cons telling them how much they shipped Bashir and Garak and how much it meant to them and then he literally just started lying saying he actually came up with that 30 years ago and it was just a secret all this time that he had done it on purpose. Imagine trying to take credit for fans shipping 2 characters together. he's just a lying grifting old geezer who saw an opportunity to get more gullible young fujos lining up to give him 50 bucks to sign their shit.
>>221041925No it isn't, not even Gamma tier. But even if it was, that's such a common experience among bi/omnisexuals it has reached meme status a long time ago.>>221041977Nevermind the decades of Spock/Kirk shipping zines, fanfics, art and more as well as the deeply queer Star Trek con culture.
>>221042036>Nuh-uhYou don't even watch Trek

>>221042029https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUepQFRMMZk this is one of the gayest things I've ever seen. They clearly went away from this later. The Garak book written by Robinson features a female love interest as a core plot point.
>>221042343it's not "one of the gayest things" you've ever seen you're just a mental midget you can't distinguish between something that is actually gay and a man acting fake, effete and affected which has no implication on sexuality. back in the day they used to call them "dandies" but you're probably like 12 so you have no idea what I'm talking about.
>>221042343>The Garak book written by Robinsonmakes him fully omnisexual, attracted to both maes and females

>>221042419Sorry man it's gay af.>>221042427No it doesn't. The plot is literally driven by love for a woman.
bad guys act a little fruity because it's just kino that way for an evil character. to come back like 20 years later and be like "oh yes of course I did that because in my mind the character was actually gay" is actually homophobic as fuck when you think about it lol. Andy Robinson should be cancelled
who are you talking to?>>221042489>The plot is literally driven by love for a woman.Considering it is the most popular Star Trek book, I've read it, multiple times. Garak is attracted to both males and females, or better put, he's stable enough not to give a fuck about genitals when he's interested in someone. The whole book is about different kinds of intimacy, including the one you mentioned. Palandine, Bashir, Tain, Number Five and many more are mentioned to have a place in his heart in different ways, that includes having been attracted to Number Five.
People will still talk about Elim Garak, a recurring character last seen on screen in 1999, but they can't even tell you the names of the main characters in post-2017 series. Fascinating.
Fucking fellow Trek Bros! How did you feel when you saw the reimagined Gorn for the first time? It was terrifying wasn't it, we never Fucking saw anything like the Gorn before!
We need a full series exploring the backstory of fan favorite character, Morn.
>Tuvix had its 30th anniversary a couple of months ago>still gets discussed >STD is approaching 10 years>no one gives a fuck
>>221042974I blame it on ENT's nothing budget. Thankfully SNW Gorn look amazing.
>>221042974It was pretty cool, I thought it was a solid upgrade to the look with modern effects and liked how they kept it to the mirror universe to avoid messing with canon by having the federation encounter them before Kirk.
>>221043026>>221043029You MotherFuckers. Why are you doing this? Why are you Fucking doing this? Just because some girl won't fuck you, this is how you are going to act? This is how you behave? You Fucking know we are talking about SNW! Fucking bullshit.

I was apprehensive at first because I had heard they'd been turned into xenomorphs but the similarities are passing at best. The full costume practical effect Gorn in later SNW episodes I like especially.

Short Treks are pretty good
Here are my top 5 episodes from TOS season 1, with City on the Edge of Forever just missing out at no. 6.1. Arena2. Balance of Terror3. Devil in the Dark4. Space Seed5. A Taste of ArmageddonI don't think Arena is necessarily my favourite out of all of these but it is almost certainly the quintessential Star Trek episode and a great fusion of silly sci fi stuff and more serious morality play which all great episodes of the show must delicately balance.
I am still considering switching Arena with Corbomite Maneuver, which might be an even better choice for the 'quintessential' ST episode.
>>221044812I'd flip-flop Balance of Terror and Arena and would replace Space Seed with Trouble with Tribbkes because I'm a goofball.
>>221044841I also think Balance of Terror is perhaps the best episode there, but I must admit it is a little one-dimensional. Though that dimension is truly exceptional. Tribbles is season 2.
shocking
>>221042036> Nevermind the decades of Spock/Kirk shipping zines, fanficsBy straight women>as the deeply queer Star Trek con culture.Cons are just faggy in generalPeople don’t remember when autistic didn’t mean homosexual, but real gays pretty much avoided dorky loser straight male hobbies and interests. yes, little antisocial ytboi, explain queer culture and the star trek scene to me, based on nothing but your opinions and impressively deep seated homophobia.
