Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear is on Vol 11 now?
And looks like Yuna's jailbait harem keeps growing even if she doesn't see them that way
>>
>>2761184
>Loli with a loli harem
Is this really a thing? I need this to be a thing.
>>
>>2761269
I believe Yuna is 15 and most of the other girls are in the 10-12 range. There was a noble girl the same age as Yuna's, though. From what I last read she basically sees the girls as little sisters.

Still, there's basically zero romance in the story. Or any sort of tension or intrigue, just overpowered protagonist fooling around in isekai world. Not even really that interested in adventures, mostly just trying to find good food and any adventures she goes on and monsters slain are just a side effect of looking for ingredients.
>>
>>2761283
>Still, there's basically zero romance in the story
Not even the lolis obviously lusting after the MC?
>>
>>2761283
>From what I last read she basically sees the girls as little sisters.
Thats what they all say at first.

>Still, there's basically zero romance in the story. Or any sort of tension or intrigue
Thats to be expected from a harem.
>>
>>2761295
>at first
It's been 11 volumes. That's a rather long "at first"
>>
>>2761296
>Thats to be expected from a harem.
>>
I've also been reading Max Level Witch, and MC gets an dragon girl apprentice who seems to be more like a little sister and two lolis who she adopts as her daughters. There is a busty elf who wants to sleep with her but MC isn't interested (yet?)

I'm not sure if it's just the titles I've been finding but LNs with female protagonists seem to be more about escapism where otaku girls get loving surrogate families rather than harems.
>>
Those titles in the OP look remarkably, shall we call it, "sane".
They're not summaries of the work in disguise. They don't look like something straight out of Chuck Tingle.

They look like actual titles. How come?
>>
>>2761379
Well Omae Gotoki is shorthand for
"Omae Gotoki ga Maou ni Kateru to Omou na" to Gachizei ni Yuusha Party wo Tsuihou Sareta node, Outo de Kimama ni Kurashitai
or
“Do you think someone like you can defeat the demon king?” and I was banished from the hero party, so I want to live in the imperial capital my own way
>>
>>2761401
Also apparently Yado Inn is dropping the translation because it's too dark for them
>>

>>

>>2761401
>>2761379
Senpensekai no Madoushoshi is also the shortened version of Senpensekai no Madoushoshi ~Yuri no Hanasaku Bouken-tan~ which is still a bit of a mouthful.
>>
>>2761407
>How dark are we talking about?
Enemies and general atmosphere is just really creepy. Dread, relief, more dread, small window of relief etc,, like a roller-coaster.
>>
>>2761421
I think I saw an illustration from the LN one of the monsters looked like an orc with its face cut off.
Also there's the fact that MC was apparently betrayed and sold into slavery, which I doubt was very pleasant. Though I guess she wasn't raped or anything because I'm sure someone would have mentioned that.
>>
>>2761448
>Though I guess she wasn't raped or anything because I'm sure someone would have mentioned that.
Because of her special ability she was deemed too weak to even work as a prostitute, being put up for "disposal" straight away after being sold off.

>>
>>2761542
Because a lot of them are written by ESLs.

I find Mistress, I Was Wrong especially hard to read.
>>
>>2761555
Nah. If you visit the NU forum, you'll know that it's because many "translators" admit they aren't translators at all, but a MTL (machine translation) editor. Basically, they obtain an MTL version, then use various dictionaries to turn it into a more comprehensible version even though they don't understand the original language. Some are even automatic MTL sites, with a script that automatically translates and postd a newly published chapter, but has built-in names and idioms fixes.

Didn't the author just start this story earlier this year? And it's already being published AND has a manga adaptation? At this rate there may be an anime announcement soon
>>
>>2761731
He didn't just start the series this year, he's also finished it. Still releasing side story stuff though.
>>
>>2761749
That has got to be a new record, the madman.
>>
>>2761889
He also wrote the equivalent of around 15 volumes in that time
>>
>>2761692
Super hyped for this, holy shit

Incidentally, Vol. 2 is also out on the 21st.
https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/4896378474
I was a bit worried about how the publication would keep momentum after the web serialization finished but this should be a huge help.

>>2761731
Apparently the comicalization was decided at the same time as the publication; they've just been sleeping on the announcement until now. It's amazing that Minakata Sunao will be the artist though, I think that'll give the series a lot more visibility in the yuri community.

(Deservedly, of course. Among the high-density yuri hijinks of the final book culminating in the MC's marriage being celebrated as a national holiday the series also does crazy shit like reincarnating one of the dead het couples (along with the main antagonist, from V1's perspective anyway) as gender-bender yuri in another world).

>>2761749
Based on Kiki's conversational style in info posts/comment responses etc., my guess on her gender would be female.
>>
>>2762632
Based on his twitter account I'd say that kiki is pretty obviously male

Pretty big fan nonetheless, in my opinion omae gotoki, even if you don't count the yuri, is easily and by far the best thing published on narou and one of the best thing I read this year in general
>>
>>2762632
Kiki is male. You can find lots of evidence like this (https://twitter.com/kiki_lily17/status/1000381662914535426) in his twitter. But I'll trust him since he wrote a novel like Kyuuketsuki Miryou.
>>
>>2762655
>But I'll trust him since he wrote a novel like Kyuuketsuki Miryou.
Yeah. That's quite something. Exterminating all males in both worlds. Female to female magic pregnancy. Mother/daughter incest.
>>

I just found this one in Yuri manga thread in 5ch and it was enjoyable read.
It seems it doesn't have English translation but if you don't mind reading with machine translation or you can read Japanese one, try this.

It has social commentary of women in society (in lighthearted and exaggerated manner) and later men in women-dominated area so if that is not your thing I don't recommend it.
>>
>>2761481
Dead because BL gets more love.
>>
>>2762828
I remember someone mentioned this and the other Yuri Villainess story by that author in the last thread
>>
>>2762828
Depends, is it leaning more towards incel or sjw kind of commentary?
>>
>>2763148
sjw. Wage gap, Misogyny in male-dominated area, Useless of Bikini armor etc.
>>
>>2761749

>>
>>2763152
>warning about the lightest and most innocuous kind of feminism possible on a board that goes out of its way to exclude men
ok
>>
>>2763224
Cause it's gory and dark so translators get put off.
>>
>>2763229
It can't be that bad.
>>
>>2763229
Just like how translators were put off by Goblin Slayer?
>>
>>2763256
Goblin Slayer has a tiny amount of emotional impact that makes it pretty easy to just ignore.
There's also the fact that people get more wussy when it's people doing bad shit instead of... green-skinned allegories for Jewish people?
>>
>>2763271
That didn't stop the dozens of other edgyshit getting translated. Akame ga Kill, Shield Hero, most of Urobutchi's shit, etc.

Either way America loves its edge, so it's only a matter of time before it gets licensed overseas anyway.
>>
>>2763224
>>2763229
I'd say the obstacle is/was the amount of text. Average chapters of Omaegotoki are 10000+ characters long, and the average update pace was ~every 2 days (more precisely, ~one chapter a day for the first 5 months and ~every 3-4 days afterwards).

Some other series for comparison:
>Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear
~4000 chars per chapter
~3 days/chapter update rate

>Make my Abilities Average
~3500 chars per chapter
~3 days/chapter update rate

Basically, it would've been practically impossible for a translation to catch up to while the series was running and even now it's a ton of text.
>>
>>2763226
I don’t know. /pol/ types are snowflakist of all snowflakes I figured there may be /pol/-/u/ hybrid.
>>
>>2763303
Those are usually fools. You can tell because they'll derail an entire thread having a tantrum about a boogeyman.
>>
>>2763299
Well, we don't need it to catch up now. A once a week release would be doable right? Though o/u/r best bet would be a licensor picking up the published versions. Or the manga would probably get a scanlation. When is that set to release?

>>2763303
>>2763314
There might be some talk about IFtV later, the latest arc (in the raw) has trans themes.
>>
>>2763299

You pretty much need to pay a professional to translate all that efficiently
>>
>>2763320
Not board content, so it's off-topic. Anyone that raises a stink about it is one of those fool.
>>
>>2763275
Most of what you listed are not the same kind of dark we're talking here. Murcielago is also gory and violent, but very different from Saya no Uta due to the tone. Goblin Slayer and AgK and SnK are more Murcielago kind of deal (edge intent to invoke power-trip excitement and adventurous spirit), whereas Omae Gotoki is more Saya no Uta (edge intent to invoke despair and disgust).

In other words, too much dread and not enough adrenaline, making it hard for a lot of people to swallow. It doesn't even have Saya no Uta's pros of being unpredictable and short.
>>
>>2763303
Since when did we cater to /pol/tards needs?
>>
>>2763335
Alright, so it's basically more horror-focused edgy grimdark? (On another note, I'd definitely file AoT as the latter sort of edge rather than the former).
>>
>>2763335
>Say no Uta
So what you're saying is omaegotoki is like a creepy love story?
>>
>>2763346
I guess you could call it that. Although personally, I've always understood "horror" as stuff that was meant to invoke fear, such as The Ring, and not just anything that is horrific. SnU and Omae Gotoki wasn't meant to make the readers experience fear, but to enjoy people in despair. Dread fetish.

It's more like guro than horror.
>>
>>2763419
The romance in Omae is a tiny subplot, like the 4th or 5th place in its priorities, and is irrelevant to its creepy stuff.
>>
>>2763335
That's a shame. I liked his work Kyuuketsuki Miryou and I get he like grimdark theme but it was not despair-invoking (from the point of view of protagonist at least).
>>
>>2763571
Depends on the reader (translator). If you compare the manga mentioned and the available translations of both of kiki's works, kiki's works are intensely higher.

I also like both and hope someone better picks them up.

>>Anyways, I’ll be dropping after this chapter. Instead, Aya from Aya Translations will be picking up this novel after me. This is too dark for my heart. I can’t handle it, however, the story does get really good as it goes on.
>>
>>2763338
Have you seen the favoritism in terms of what content gets deleted in threads?
It's like /u/'s janitor is Jack from dweeter.
>>
>>2763603
I went to check their work, and sometimes I wonder if these guys work alone. It would be nice to have someone help proofread in case the translator makes/misses grammatical errors.
>>
>>2763547
>>2763551
Omaegotoki actually does contain significant horror elements on top of the dread/despair-oriented plot development. Like, what would you call being chased by a unending swarm of eyeballs which cause your body parts to duplicate upon contact, leading to becoming a writhing blob of undifferentiated flesh?

I'd also argue that romance that isn't a small subplot as it's intrinsic to the motivation/character development of the characters (and also frequently the plot; love is the final antithesis of the villain thematically). Essentially all subtext couples graduate to being text, so if you take the amount of text dedicated to developing each relationship, you definitely couldn't call the final amount 'tiny'. Although the entire final/10th book is practically dedicated to slice of life yuri shenanigans, even the initial books feature significant slice-of-life components which only begin to fall off (beginning book 6) compensated by major romantic developments (realizations of love, confessions, kisses, sex, marriage vows etc. etc.). All components including slice-of-life are important to the relationships so I would not call the romance low priority.
>>
>>2763256
Omae gotoki is far more hardcore than goblin slayer
One of the most recent comment about it on narou is "I expected a narou-kei and I got berserk"
It fits perfectly
>>
>>2763722
>Omaegotoki actually does contain significant horror elements on top of the dread/despair-oriented plot development. Like, what would you call being chased by a unending swarm of eyeballs which cause your body parts to duplicate upon contact, leading to becoming a writhing blob of undifferentiated flesh?
Or the zombie village. That fucking baby.
>>
>>2763745
What is “narou-kei”?
The typical escapist power fantasy you expect to find there?
>>
>>2763832
Basically
omae gotoki make it seems like it will be one but it just turns into something else entirely

For example in a normal narou-kei, after being expelled from her party Flam would have immediately found a way to be super broken (the oretueeeee part), use her newfound power to get rich and powerful, get a harem and eventually have her revenge on the guy who betrayed her (the revenge porn part)

None of these happen though, if anything omae gotoki is focused at a level I barely ever saw even in normal fantasy LN, there is no time wasted which basically make it unlike 99% of other web novels on narou

Omae gotoki is often considered as a bait and switch due to this, I expected narou kei but I got Berserk is one of the best way to describe it
>>
>>2763722
I skimmed it so maybe my assessment of the romance is a bit off, but I'm certain you cannot call it a "creepy love story" (because the horrific stuff is irrelevant to the romance unlike in SnU where it's the main point), nor can you call it a love story at all.

Naruto also has relationship development from strangers to marriage and love is the intrinsic characterization of many main characters, yet it's not a romance story.
>>
>>2763953
It's true that the horror elements are separate from the romantic ones but Omae gotoki is definitely a love story, with the main point being for Flam and Milkit to get together. This is heavily reflected in both the plot and the content so I'd recommend just going and reading it.

I can see where your impression might've come from as the romance is indeed slow-burn (subtext for the entire first half) but that's not reflective of the series' priorities. All of the protagonist's suffering is formulated to highlight how her love makes her stronger and make the payoff (again, an entire book dedicated to it) that much sweeter. There is also (minor spoiler for the epilogue) no element more relevant to the whole story's plot or conflict than Flam and Milkit's relationship.
>>
Omae Gotoki is unexpectedly good. I couldn't find translated chapters further than the second one unfortunately but I will be regularly checking for it.
>>

This would've been awesome, desu. I love a good revenge story.
>>
>>2766235
There is quite literally hundreds of these in narou
so have fun?

>>2766368
I meant one that's /u/ related, obviously. Though other than Shield Hero, I rarely see any revenge-themed narou works.
>>

氷の滅慕
The heroine literally kills hundreds of innocent people on her way to revenge and to get back her loved one and become much more of a monster than the supposed antagonist.
It's very unapologetic about it, pretty fun

But I'm glad omae gotoki didn't do this, it's really good on its own and I'd say probably the best thing in narou

thoughts on the latest translated chapter of I Favour The Vilainess? i almost dropped this series because of the main couple but its nice to see claire finally reacting to rei's feeling, also i like how the author didnt just go the church=bad route if the argument beetwen rei and the nuns was any indicator.

So I read Max Level Witch and it was cute but I don't know how to explain it... kind of underwhelming?

-Protagonist accidentally gets godlike powers but is too lazy to use them. It seems to be implied that the world is at peace so there's really not even any need for an isekai hero
-Super low stakes. Most of the "fights" are over in seconds and usually end with punchlines.
-Most of the girls who appear around her are young children and are adopted or become her apprentice. With the mature girls who actually seem to be into the protagonist it's pretty one sided.

Does anything interesting happen later or is it just more of this?

>>
On the topic of webnovels, what's /u/'s opinion on genderbend(male->female) yuri? I only know Kashimashi as one example so I'm curious about it? Is it cursed? Is it fine? Or is it just dependent on other factors? Should there be more? Or maybe less? Or should I make a new thread for this?
>>
>>2776051
With the exception of a few idiots, Kashimashi is considered fine. But there are reasons:

-It's permanent
-It happens through alien technology restoring the body based on DNA and whatnot. AKA the previous male body was some kind of error/defect and should've never been.
-No "b-but I'm a guy" or "I want to go back to being a guy" or whatever afterwards

You... won't find much like it.
>>
>>2776056
Same anon, thanks! So permanency of the change is important, got it. The "I want to go back" thing is really annoying.
>>
>>2776056
>>2776051

For me, it depends on how much the masculine personality is still intact in the new body. If it gives too much "perverted man in woman body" impression to me, then it's a big no.
>>
>>2776098

Also, I personally like it better if the female love interest has been already in love BEFORE the transformation, otherwise it would reeks the "conquer the lesbian's heart" trope, which I despise. Maybe that's one of the reason why Kashimashi is fine.
>>
>>2776098
>>2776101
Thanks!

Has anyone read this: https://ncode.syosetu.com/n5187ej/

Short summary is that the main character is an old swordsman in a stagnated fantasy world that was once a student of a transported Japanese. Since he was born unable to use the "Skills" granted by the gods to humans, he learned and applied martial arts, science and technology that he got from the Japanese to magic (since it's something independent from Skills) and on his death, was tasked by the main goddess to be the god of technology to alleviate the world's stagnation caused by the over exploitation of "Skills" that resulted to the lack of growth in humanity's culture and technology.

So he was reincarnated as a noble's firstborn daughter and is raised along with her milk-sister/personal maid. It's an ongoing, slow burn story that highlights the their growing together, with clear signs that the author is on board with them together.

The main character is MtF genderbend, but it doesn't feel much like it. It's a lot like in the Vampire one, where he just accepted it as it is. Her milk-sister/personal maid is also interesting as a character, as she grows side by side with the main character.

>>
>>2782307
I thought it was pretty smart and well executed in focusing on Sayaka's thinking and how she fell in love and making that enjoyable as a portrayal of Sayaka, while doing that in a way that shows the senpai really didn't do anything to deserve Sayaka's feelings. A lot happened in Sayaka, whereas very little really happened between them. That does mean it was quite restricted as a story though, even with the good swimming club bit at the start.

Manga is more suited to my taste though. I liked the manga so decided to read the web novel but it was shocking. The grotesque level was up a notch in the novel. I wonder how they depict the first fight with monster.

About halfway through vol. 2 >>2771834
The writing has definitely leveled up from the web version. My favourite aspect would be the earlier introduction of Ortelia, but Ink's characterization is also way cuter than I remember.

>>2781607
Pretty good. The internal monologues are very compressed but the chapter did a great job in smoothly rearranging plot, setting, and character work.

Incidentally, the official webpage for the web comicalization is here:
http://comicride.jp/omaegotoki/
I'm not sure how much they track comments/popularity and such (probably not as much as for paid users) but it couldn't hurt to give them some pageviews.

Sera's age isn't changed in the published version, no.

Anyone reading はぐるまどらいぶ。/Gear Drive? The author says it becomes yuri on chapter 550, but I'm curious if anyone can vouch for it before I sink that much time into it.
https://ncode.syosetu.com/n4147dw/

It's getting officially translated as well.

Spoiled myself on the chapter in question. It's apparently a Hero x Villain (where the villain gets saved/becomes an ally) pairing. The characters have a Gold x Silver theme going on (I'm seeing this a lot recently somehow, e.g. 少女の望まぬ英雄譚, 魔少女毒少女. Well, at least in this case it seems to also be their battle suits, not just hair).

The author apparently also thinks the yuri is sudden so dunno if there's gonna be a lot of relevant content in the leadup. Kiss is confirmed judging from chapter titles. Gonna give the official translation a read and see from there.

(Reviews mention experimental text usage (lots of onomatapeia) and frequent insert art by the author as strong points. Dunno how well that'll carry over in tankoubon format/translation.)

Finished reading Vol.1. Impressions:
- The extra chapter sets up subtext pretty well
- The humour is well done. A review on narou expressed that there's a sense that the author is screwing around/having fun writing the story, and I agree that's to its benefit.
- Thematically, the volume had a strong focus on familial love and heroism. In particular, a major thread of the first arc follows a dumbass brat who goes hunting after a monster in the forest trying to be a hero, setting the forest on fire and nearly burning the village down, while dragging a little girl with him. The brat gets redeemed partially through subtext about protecting the girl. I generally wouldn't sit through this sort of 'heartwarming' fiction without the promise of yuri.

Thanks mainly to the extra chapter I will be tentatively moving onto the web series.

>I generally wouldn't sit through this sort of 'heartwarming' fiction without the promise of yuri.
I was looking at it to balance out the other grimdark series I was reading, so that actually works well. I'll give it a shot based on the reviews/your comments.

It’s just Jean. He lied about the others consenting or even knowing about this. Flamm actually got along quite well with some of the other party members.

Jean did nothing wrong.

That joke might work better if he had even the slightest bit of noble intention behind his actions. Instead, he was just butthurt the person he thought would give him perfect babies paid more attention to a country bumpkin.

So I've made a translation doc for ch. 1:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/17BNiL_TaSseKthE2f_xYCb5pCVR6f8tYlX8qSb07IqA/edit?usp=sharing

Most of the dialogue/exposition is pretty much translated. Stuff that remains:
- series introduction
- most vocalizations because they're annoying (laughter, screams, etc.)
- most sound effects
- Romanizations for last names of two characters (other characters had official romanizations in the back of Vol. 1)
- A few remaining lines with awkward wording (marked in brackets)

Feel free to help out or make suggestions. Also, it'd be neat if someone knew how to extract raws from Book Walker or Comic Ride >>2783376
I don't have editing experience so my intention would be to toss it over to the scanlation thread/yuri project/maybe /a/ or the dynasty discord.

This is for comicrider. Right click inpect element -> network
The image are in 3 pieces your going to have to save the images then reconstruct it to for one page, unless someone it willing to go through the javascript to find the algorithm for descrambling the images there isn't a better option. There's always the alternative of taking a screenshot.
>>
>>2788136
Anyone translating it ?

If you use the algorithm, it gets converted only up to 1920px (pic related is originally 1932) in height.

I'm getting 985x1400 images off their reader from my phone. I think they do provide raws for other manga though, so maybe they'll share the full raws/potential ripping software if we ask.

>>2788272
It's a bimonthly release, actually. I'm guessing that's related to chapter length; we might be getting 40+ pages on average.

Take a quick look at book walker and it look far more complicated than comicride. I'm lazy so unless someone really need it, I won't look at it again.

It's easy to figured out how comicride scrambled image. I made a script for download manga from comicride. You only have to enter url and it will scan and download all scrambled image , then reassembles them.

If you want I'll give you the source.

link for 1st chapter

save as png so it's quite heavy

bonus:
some adachi to shimamura chapter that I ripped from gangan and raw that I found:

It will be very helpful (for me) if you can descramble bookwalker's web viewer. It is not really that essential though.

Here it is: http://www.mediafire.com/file/37mtr02hfxzu766/script.py
You'll need python3 and few libraries (check the source)

If it's for other yuri manga then I will do it
>>
>>2791030
It is for yurihime (you can see in yurihime thread) and while it will be great to have that but I don't think it is worth of your time. You can buy in amazon and easily rip from there without the risk of a ban anyway.

Just finished Max Level Witch Vol 2
A but more yuri relevant, at least towards the end. Asuza defeats the Demon King (Queen) with kabedon. She then starts calling Azusa oneesama and wants to be princess-carried. Laika and Halkara get jealous and another dragon girl joins thief household who likes being petted

Altogether not a bad story. Would recommend as a pallet-cleanser from grimdark

Has anyone read The Adventure of Miko? Is it any good?
Been looking for a more Narou-kei style yuri LN but it seems like many of the titles on Novel Updates were dropped by their original authors a long time ago
>>
>>2796349
Are there any significant differences compared to WN so far?
>>
>>2797648
Haven’t read the WN so can’t say what, if anything, has changed.
Just started Vol 3 and it’s actually opened with some yuri shenanigans with the two dragon girls having a bake-off for Azusa.
>>
>>2797670
It’s kind of-sort of harem hijinks but so far Azusa really just sees the girls around her as a surrogate family but I guess that could be her being typical dense harem lead

Sorry for phoneposting but this whole exchange could have easily been from a harem rabukome
>>
Also not sure if it’s common knowledge or not but Max Level Witch (actual title: I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level) isn’t genderbend. Azusa was an OL in her pervious life who worked herself to death.

In her new life she decides to take it easy. It’s a pretty easygoing story and there very little conflict in the story. I guess you could compare it to something that would run in Kirara
