Let's start a new wedding thread.
Traditional Japanese wedding is too cute.
I really liked the other thread so I thought I would revive it. Sorry if there wasn't as much interest as I thought. I'll wait a few months and try again, maybe have more content to start.See you then!
Commissioned thisSeems like a good thread to post it

Just love the dress and uniform :3 best way ^-^
>>3283850It isn't really traditional. There was no such thing as a Shinto wedding before the end of the 19th century and they didn't become popular until after WWII. That's why the kimono look like Japanese spins on conventional Western wedding clothes.
>>3348186>It isn't really traditional. There was no such thing as a Shinto wedding before the end of the 19th centuryHate to go off-topic but really? Then how would a wedding between a guy from one clan and a girl from another clan, have been done during the Sengoku Jidai?
>>3349674There were still banquets and associated customs, but it was an entirely secular affair.
>>3349711And what about the kimono design philosophy? How different was it compared to modern-day kimono used in "Shinto-style" weddings since you claim they use elements from Western wedding dresses?
>>3349718It's hard to find reliable information on this. This essay about Edo-period upper-class weddings does say that the bride wore at least some white garments (though it doesn't specify the color of the uchikake, which is the most visible part), but that was only at the beginning of the ceremony. To signify her joining her husband's family, she'd change to a colorful kimono.https://www.metmuseum.org/toah/hd/jwed/hd_jwed.htm

Alright /u/, this is an incredibly important question.Do you want to carry, or be carried?Switch off midway? Refuse to do any carrying? Argue over it and have your first fight right on the steps of the venue? Traditional bridal? Your choice of meme carry?
>>3397327I used to carry my mother when I was young just to prove I could.

>>3447995That's the one. Good story.
The best way to get married.
When I married my wife we had a very, very non-traditional wedding. Was more a house party, a dozen or so immediate family and friends, with a bottle of champagne and cake to some refined but still casual outfits. That's how we wanted it. But seeing these pictures makes me pause a bit. I mean sure, I feel like the romanticism of a formal wedding is just an aesthetic pushed by a cultural zeitgeist. But at the same time... it still evokes feelings.Perhaps the conditioning has worked? Because now I kinda wish to have seen us in extravagant dresses.I probably would have hated it though, I'm betting this curiosity is more endearing in my head.Bah
>>3480508The dresses are nice and could’ve been incorporated into the house party bit. It’s even nicer if the dress is your own mother’s, but if not rentals will do just fine.A big ceremony and all that is quite the waste of money tho
>>3480508Not your blog.
