I don't think Manatsu getting with Laura is a good idea. Not because they're both girls, but because one of them is a mermaid. First just how are they going to go on dates? Sure you could say they could limit their options to pools or the places by the sea, but that would get boring after a while and what if they want to watch a movie or go to some fancy restaurant? Is Manatsu going to have to princess carry Laura everywhere? Wouldn't that be tiring on her arms? Plus they'd get strange looks everywhere they go so no doubt Laura will eventually feel alienated due to how different she is. And what if she gets into an accident and needs to be hospitalized? Human doctors would have no idea what to do with her and if they go to some underwater hospital Manatsu wouldn't be able to visit her because she can't breath underwater. Hell she might not even be able to get her mermaid GF to said hospital because of that inability. And then there is the problem of sex. Girls and mermaids are completely incompatible. Humans and mermaids can't have kids either so if they wanted to have adorable children they're shit out of luck there. And even if that wasn't a problem they're still different species so having sex would be bestiality which is illegal. That also means that they can't legally get married. That's just a small number of the problems that might come up too. There's a bunch more like how will they find a home or a car that can accommodate Laura and how their family might not accept them loving someone of a different species and so on and so forth. Really no matter how much they might feel for each other it would be better for the both of them if they just found girls of their own species.
