Based Schnees
https://archiveofourown.org/works/29524077I rewrote an earlier rarepair thing with Winter/Glynda. The dynamic is fun to play with, though hard to keep going.
no episode this week thanks to the snow in Texas
Why make a dead thread for a dead show?
>>3376108Because the old thread was too dead to shamble on
Hey look this person drew a new one.
>>3377165
>>3377165>>3377166That's the same artist? They got worse.
>>3377176Eh, the second one is definitely better. Ruby's facial proportions in the first one are out of wack, as are Cinder's torso and head. The linework is much better on the hands in the second one. Their grasp on shadows is also much better in the second one. Really the only thing the first one does well is side-step a lot of details by using solid dark areas/no shading, and that the second picture stuck to cell-shading whereas Ruby's face in the first one is blended.
>>3377176Or maybe you need a new pair of glassess?
>>3375955>no episode this week thanks to the snow in TexasIs that the excuse?!? Disappointing we have another break in the releases so soon after the long one they just had....
>>3375879>https://mega.nz/#F!m88WEaaJ!HGP-ScFwX64cevw5QYLEEQTwo times in a row? Are you fucking serious?IT'S VOLUME 8 NOW!https://mega.nz/folder/y1tSgCRK#XRMcfRw9AtPckDo1Z4aPDwFix the stupid hat already.
>>3375955>no episode this week thanks to the snow in TexasAre RT based in Texas?
>>3377545Yes.
>>3377965I want more content of them. I'm so fuckin' sick of BB screeching all over the everywhere.
>>3378009Seems like a weird complaint to have right now. The lack of focus on BB in the past couple volumes has subdued the frenzy a large amount, it was much worse in V4-6.
>>3377412Anon, I have friends in Texas who can't even get out of their homes. This huge winter storm sweeping across the southern US has killed at least 21 people and left millions without power. So I'm not gonna complain when the guys making this great show are struggling to survive out there.
>>3378032It was pretty bad in V7 still imo. V8's been more tempered, but I still see people zeroing in on even just the couple moments of them clearly thinking about each other, and the single-mindedness bugs me.And sure I'm a hypocrite like that, but oh fucking well.
>>3377872Then it makes sense.
Hey Nee-sans, haven't been to a RWBY thread in years, hope you don't mind me asking how y'all are doing.Saw some screeeeching about Bumblebee in YT and wanted to ask how's that ship going nowadays. Was it a good romance after all or did RT manage to fuck it up with their retardedly bad writing?Curiously I also saw some screeeeing saying "Weiss doesn't belong with Ruby". What's that all about? Is WhiteRose finally canon?Other than that hope you guys have another good season (its still going on right?). Cheers
>>3378724>Was it a good romance after all or did RT manage to fuck it up with their retardedly bad writing?I lean towards the latter. After being reunited, they were cagey with each other for a bit, then magically all their issues disappeared after they killed Adam together, and they just started dating in the background with nothing else said on the matter.>Is WhiteRose finally canon?Pfft, I wish. They haven't said a word to each other in the past two years. The screeeing you saw was probably just antis reacting to WRfags wishing they'd interact again.
>>3378734>antisOh just them reacting to the idea of Rubles having feeling, honest to god teenaged feelings, for someone so she's not a child they have to care about when they want to.
>>3378724>Was it a good romance after all It isn't really a romance to enough of a degree to judge yet. They set up the start line so to speak but the only thing that has happened since the two settled their baggage has been like... holding hands once(?) and blushing when seeing each other's new outfits in one scene. I found the entire setup to be badly written but BB shippers seem to like it, so who knows. No, WR is not canon. They get along very well in the occasional scenes where they are together supporting each other, but there has not been anything romantic on that front.I guess if you haven't followed the show at all in a few volumes, they met one of Jaune's older sisters who's gay and married.
>>3378925That little angry Yang is adorable.
>>3378724Bumblebee is probably the biggest or 2nd biggest ship depending on who you ask. In the show WhiteRose hasn't been getting much screen time, other than that it's all good.
>>3378972How is it anything other than the biggest? Sure, the show's been focusing more on Renora and Nuts & Dolts this arc, but in terms of fanworks as a metric of popularity, they're still a distant 4th and... I dunno, last I checked N&D was like, tied for 8th most popular ship. Pretty sure the craze over Fair Game actually surpassed it.
>>3378974I wasn't sure if it's the biggest or not, only joined this fandom recently.
>>3378979It's been far and away the biggest since about the end of volume 3.
>>3378153>this great showOh, you rapscallion!
>>3378997She's right, though.
>>3378997>new posterYou don't have anything else to do on /u/, huh?
>>3379009It's kind of a slow board, and RWBY is easy to shitpost at and about.
>>3378724>BumblebeeThey're dancing around the fact that they're into each other, and unlike the goggles anon said, they're very much not dating. I give it 50-50 odds on if something is going to spill by the end of the season now that they've ended in separate groups and Yang is on a suicide mission.>WRDead in the water, much like it's been since volume 3. The fandom, as is its wont, of course doesn't give a shit so fan-wise it remains a mainstay in art and fics. There's some minor Ruby/Oscar murmurings, but despite one cute scene of them together it's mostly under the radar.
>>3378724Nee-sans already gave you the answers, so I'll just advise you to ignore any youtube content about RWBY, especially one when they screech about topics. For your own sake.
>>3379050>Still thinks there's only 50-50 odds on BB happeningThey literally went on an (off-screen) date.>Dead in the water since V3Did you not watch V6?
>no new episode>AGAINIs it known when it will release?
>>3379095Barring another delay, should be on for the 27th?
>>337908150-50 during this season, ms. reading comprehension. There's a bit of an end of the world coming so they're a tad distracted for the moment. As for WR, yes, I saw the season, and I know goggles when I see them.
>>3379317Starting to feel like the term "Goggles" has lost its meaning.
>>3379009What an inconvenient venue for an exclusive club you have chosen.
>>3379344Different anon but how is that not the exact meaning? Nothing in V6 (or, honestly, any volume) between Weiss and Ruby is romantic unless you're viewing it through the lens of shipping the two as something more than close friends or teammates.
Ruby is obviously meant for one of the writers' selfinserts. Best case scenario is that they get cold feet and she isn't developed at all in that direction.
>>3379545>or, honestly, any volumeAnd that's the thing. "Dead in the water since V3" implies there was something there which somehow separates it from the later volumes. V6 had actual content to work with, and it's only been since then, V7 and 8, that the ship has been dead in the water.
>>3379812Thing is that there was always a chance, but every season without an even vaguely romantic arc for them made it smaller. I just threw in V3 as a kinda-sorta turning point where if the writers had wanted to go that way, they would have done something already.
>>3379816I thought there was a serious chance of them doing some turning point in Atlas, after V6 seemed to focus on the two of them a fair bit. Turns out, I was right about it being a turning point, I just didn't think it'd turn from "Friends" to "Never once interacting."
>>3379050>dead in the waterI dunno, there was a huge spike in interest in the ship again during Volume 6. Not to mention the RWBY official manga and the fan collections had some cute moments. >>3378734>The screeeing you saw was probably just antis reacting to WRfags wishing they'd interact again. As a long time WRfag, I don't even want a romantic canon relationship for these two, because with how hard CRWBY fumbled the Bees, I'd rather it stay in fandom. But it doesn't make sense for long term partners who have fought side by side for years and lived together not talking or interacting with each other without it being plot related.
>>3380651>>3379852>tfw no matter how many mono moments happen in the show there are still only like three people who will draw it.
>>3380651Fandom-wise it's going to be a thing long after the finale airs, but it has no chance in canon.
>>3380700Its okay sis, dashingcream always has you covered
>>3379812I figured "dead in the water" in this instance meant fandom wise. V3 was kind of a cutting point for the show where we lost a lot of the "old guard", many of which happened to be WR shippers IIRC, like Funblade.Funblade, Xunnies, Xekstrin, Ivorytowercrumbles, dogtit, Jenii - All of them had huge impacts on the fandom in the early days and they're all gone now, for the most part. It's a shame, I miss the time when they contributed. But fair enough, not everyone can be a hyperfixating autist like me. Especially for a show as bad as this. Being a RWBY fan that isn't a brainless normie is suffering.
i really wish there were more ships with glynda thats not m/f
>>3381568>Coco canonically has the hots for her>No one does anything with this information
>>3381568I've always liked the idea of GlyndaXNora
>>3381570do most people even know who coco is?
>>3381601Of course they do.What they don't is the content of the novels. Seems like next to no one read them. Just about the only thing everyone seems to have gotten from them by osmosis is the fact that Coco's gay.
>>3381596explain
>>3381611it doesnt help that everyone and their mom ships wr or bb wait there are novels?
>>3381634Yes, there are two novels focused on CFVY's adventures in Vacuo post-Fall of Beacon.
>>3383021
>>3383023Ah shit, that's my fetish, and my pairing. Sweet.
>>3383045Damn sis me too
Either RWBY porn is uniquely uniformly garbage, or someone intentionally spends time to pick the worst images to post in this thread for whatever reason.
So anyone got a way to watch Ultimatum w/o being a First Member?
>>3383524Mate, are you pretending or something?>>3377436>https://mega.nz/folder/y1tSgCRK#XRMcfRw9AtPckDo1Z4aPDw
They almost smooched. Almost
I wish that I could like BB. And also that the writers would stop shitting on Cinder.
>>3383608Haters will still say it isn't canon.
>>3383608It's weird; I haven't actually super seriously shipped bumblebee in years now but this made my cold, black heart start palpitating again. Maybe I'm getting soft in my old age.
BB scene was nice, and so was Neo flirting with Cinder on the chat app. But I'm disappointed how they completely turned Ironwood into a cartoony villain in this season. Back when he was morally grey, he was one of the most interesting characters in the show, but in this volume the writing team just took a huge shit on his entire character development and turned him into a generic bad guy. Fuck I'm mad.
>>3383713I just realized this is the only time we've gotten a glimpse of Neo's personality beyond smug expressions.
>>3383854I'll take halting the development of the plot over taking Ironwood's plot and driving it off a cliff.
>>3383876;)I'm sure that counts in some people's books.
Another fucking BB song. I am so sick of this shit...
>>3383915Seal the deal then go talk about it in >>3341983
>>3383935Yeah, and?
>>3383945Riveting.
Surprised no one posted the sister reunion....that had some yuriness.
>>3383980Little bit, but BB was that much gayer as always.Meanwhile Ruby confirmed het and in love with Oscar, WRfags btfo once and for all.
>>3383612They aren't shitting on Cinder it's about breaking her down so she can rise up better than before.
>>3383713I don't see Ironwood as cartoony at all I think his decision makes sense for him since he believes that without him having Penny both Atlas and Mantle will be wiped out so he decided if they wont give him Penny he will just fast forward Mantle's fate.
>>3383612>>3384036Shitting on Cinder would have been having her drop Watts and fly off in search of Neo and/or Ruby and getting her ass kicked /again/.She probably will still get her ass kicked again, but giving her a moment of vulnerability and self-contemplation is more than I thought they'd ever do with her. Might just be hope yet for something other than a tombstone by the end for her.
>>3384041Yeah but he hasn't made any cogent argument as to why Mantle needs to be abandoned at this very second. He has breathing room now the Whale's gone to find Penny, and yet he's still acting like every second could be Atlas's last.
>>3384120When has he ever given a shit about Mantle beyond a surface level to maintain his position?
>>3384036>>3384053It just feels like they are throwing in the little bits of characterization to kill her off """"meaningfully"""".
That shot of Neo hopping away with the lamp partially obscured by the dust remains of the whale was cool.>>3384120>he hasn't made any cogent argument as to why Mantle needs to be abandoned at this very secondI mean, they are at war, not in the highschool competitive debate contest. He needs Penny to do what he wants, he seeks for the lever he can pull over her, he found it, he pulls it. Seems logical for him to do so, even if it is 100% a shitty thing to do.
>>3384433Forgot to add that he's also at his wits' end. Qrow's gone, Robyn's gone, Watts' gone. Even before holding Mantle hostage, he wanted instead to use Yang, Ren and others who had been on the shuttle with Winter to blackmail Penny with, but he found out that he didn't even have those. He's still a piece of shit but the episode clearly made it obvious in no uncertain terms that he felt like he didn't have any other leverage over Penny left.
>>3384433>>3384434More like he ran past several levers after someone spooked him, and then desperately tried to pull the one made of scrap metal that's probably going to give him a fatal infection.Like, Salem is, for the moment, not an immediate threat. The means by which to get the population of Mantle which his "Enemies" are so concerned with to safety was deployed without any effort needed on his part. And instead of going, "Alright, if I help, it'll get done that much faster, and I can get them back on-board with my plan", instead he /shot them down/ and proceeded to make a bomb threat.
>>3384438>Salem is, for the moment, not an immediate threat. That's kinda why he wanted to rush it, though. No better time than in that moment, while she's still out of the equation.
>>3384439And yet he still gave them an hour to acquiesce to his demands. Time which could have been spent just letting them work instead.
>>3384450But he didn't want to let them work, that's the whole point. If they succeeded in helping Mantle, there'd be nothing left to blackmail Penny into opening the vault. Unless you want to reach hard and say that he could threaten to blow up Atlas this time and the people there, I guess.
>>3384450>>3384454This doesn't have anything to do with yuri. If you want to argue about ironwood go to /co/
>>3384455How new?
