I think that's about it? I honestly don't know why I make this "News" post with a memory as bad as mine, but still, as always, let me know if I forgot something.

Well, you could still wait for the Lunar New Year to see if they do something. . . although they most likely won't, not for Jaguar Man, nor for Kagetora (you know, she also have tiger in her name, albeit not as obvious for us gaijins). If anything, If were they to do something, they would probably create another Servant with tiger motif.

Hello, I am a n00b who recently played F/SN:RN and F/HA. What should I play, watch, or read next to understand more of the Fate universe lore? Such as it is. It seems you're all talking about a gatcha game ITT but I'm sure there's a lot of steps between Hollow Ataraxia and where the "story" is now. Or should I just save myself confusion and read the wiki?
>>
>>3622622
it honestly doesn't matter at this point, I entered the franchise with Apocrypha, then checked out fgo, then played the vns, if you have time I recommend playing the vn first

If you've read FSN and HA you will have no trouble understanding any of Fate spinoffs including FGO. Fate/Zero, Fate/Extra and Extra CCC would be the logical next steps but you can jump into FGO right now if you want.

Normally I wouldn't recommend FGO since it's gacha shit, but right now that's the only Fate content that Nasu is currently focusing on. If you're brave (read:stupid) you can pick up the game. Or just watch the main story on youtube.
>>
>>3622612
That's true.

>>3622622
Particularly, I never played/read any of the VNs and have no intention to do so, the many animes I watched were annoying enough, so I surely don't want a deeper look into Shirou or Sieg's minds.
Anyways, if you want to get into FGO, you don't really need any background to start, but if you just want to experience the Fate franchise, then the other replies before and after me will certainly offer better insight than I ever could.
>>
>>3622635
>>3622637
Reading is fundamental anons, the first 11 words of my post said that I just recently played the vns. If you're trying to tell me to replay them, I might re-install F/SN someday as I really enjoyed it despite being forced to play as a retard. HA was aiight but the story got kind of stupid and the pedo shit is completely unbearable. There's not even any good /u/ content, it's like Nasu forgot that Rin is gay for Saber.

>>3622653
Thanks for the recommendations anon. I've managed to live my life so far without ever playing a gacha game and I'd like to keep it that way for as long as possible. A light novel series sounds like a great continuation so I'll check out Zero next.

From a quick Google, Extra and Extra CCC are RPGs? Are there translations for Amerimutts who can't read moon runes?
>>

Is that their canon child?

Zero anime adaptation is also quite good, not /u/ unfortunately but if you wear your /u/ goggles you can enjoy some Saber/Irisviel shipping.

>Are there translations for Amerimutts who can't read moon runes?
Extra was officially translated, you find find the rom with some google fu. Fans polished it up though with a "perfect patch" you might look into. Make sure to play as FeMC for maximum /u/.

Yes in the first route Fate of F/SN Rin fucks Saber in front of Shirou to "warm her up" for him (but actually because she wants to have sex with Saber). Then Shirou fucks Saber while Rin eats her out again. This is literally the first sex scene in the game too, unfortunately the start of a threeway is the only explicit /u/ content in the game which is why I'm not posting any of the other CGs from the scene.

In the second route Unlimited Blade Works' good end, Rin ends up as Saber's Master (in one of the best scenes in the entire game IMO) and decides to keep her around after the war is over by sheer force of magic and homosexuality. Shirou is there too but who cares. I've always thought it was odd that there's very little /u/ focused on that ending but it's tough to get and implies that the three live happily ever after in a weird poly relationship so it's probably for the best.

>>3622660
Appreciate it anon, I actually have a PSP emulator on my phone so Extra will be a lot of fun. I'm also looking for Apocrypha, but it seems like the series was never fully translated, which is a shame. I usually go through things like that too, but since I had already watched the animes and thus knew about the hetfest that would wait for me, I decided against it this time.

>but I appreciate your based retard take
I'm here to help, even if I have no help to offer.
Also, emphasis on "retard", considering the beginning of this post.

Also2,
I'm would strongly advice against reading Apocrypha. Of course, I can only speak based on the anime adapatations, but Apocrypha was by far the worst (the EXTRA anime was also terrible, but at least it had a somewhat original story, so it's not really comparable to the source). F/SN at least had a little bit of Rin x Artoria (even if in preparation for shits to come), but Apocrypha doesn't get even something that small.
>>
>>3622735
the whole concept of a girl "warming up" another girl for a dude is such a porn concept that it's weird for it to appear in a narrative game

Apocrypha has almost 0 /u/ content (possible exception of Jack and her master) so obviously no one here is going to be a fan. But the manga is a noticeably better adaptation than the anime, nothing amazing ofc but it's palatable. Just goes to show how much of a total waste the Apoc anime was.
>>
>>3622746

I doubt Hiroyama hates lesbians considering he has made a yuri FGO doujin.
What you're talking about hasn't happened for at least 10 years in the manga since Drei started. There's no Shirou.
On the other hand, Hiroyama has developed Miyu's character and made her gayer. There's a positive trend. The latest chapter reminded that Prisma Illya is still ultimately a story about Illya and Miyu.

So, I read the [Mahoutsukai no Hako] and [Back Alley Alliance Nightmare] mangas, and:
>Mahoutsukai no Hako
It was a nice read, I kinda wanted it to be more of a (little over the top) SoL, didn't really appreciate the little "girl obsessed with Chikagi's sister" plot, but oh well. Also, way too short, guess I'll be joining the people that want more of it, but know will never have.

>Back Alley
First of all: Who will I have to kill to save Olga? I'm serious, we better save her by the end of the Lostbelts.
Now, I seriously pondered turning off my brain while reading, specially when I saw the little cat things, but I'm glad I didn't, it was pretty interesting (even though I didn't get any "hint about Olga's future role in the story"), if a bit over the top, not that it was unexpected, since I know a little bit of how Type Moon's early works were, some undead/immortal people, a guy with a god killing gun, some borderline invincible alien things (of which some people believe one of them will be the main threat of LB7). Anyways, our Sion and the "Tsukihime Lostbelt Sion" are quite different, huh?
. . .
Btw, that Anon that recently went through the F/SN VNs, if they ever decide to play FGO, they would probably want to read Tsukihime beforehand, considering a certain reveal during LB3 and the rumor of LB7.

>>3623584
Oh~ that doujin.
I'll share an opinion that will probably be seen as absolutely atrocious, but I didn't quite like that doujin. The art was great, however, the choice of having a school setting but still being action themed missed me by a long shot. Personally, one of the things I want the most is a SoL story of Gudako and Mashu living together after all the Grand Order endeavors, so to partially grant it, but then just making it a Singularity (of which, as far as "Yuri Singularities" goes, I like Riyo's better), I couldn't help but be disappointed.
And yes, I do realize that this is a "me" problem, I just wanted to share.

>even though I didn't get any "hint about Olga's future role in the story"
Lev says something like 'It's around 2000 years too late to change the future, Animusphere.' After reading FGO you would assume Lev is talking about Goetia's plot right? But Solomon/Goetia existed 3000 years ago, not 2000 years ago. So the implication here is the Animuspheres did something 2000 years ago to cause the current crisis. Also, while it's not outright stated, it is implied Olga herself is the one creating and destroying the alternate timelines being simulated by Atlas. We don't know how or why. A lot contradicts what we know about Olga from FGO so it should have caught your attention.

And keep in mind, Back Alley manga came out in 2016 which was long before Olga's reintroduction in LB5. Back then no one was thinking twice about Olga since her unceremonious demise in Part 1 left little impression. Clearly Nasu thought otherwise and decided to give her a larger role years before the Lostbelt arc. Another weird thing is, most FGO spinoff manga usually have the disclaimer that it's not canon to FGO story. The disclaimer is absent in Back Alley, and in credits it shows it was supervised by Nasu himself.

Side note, Olga is also a recurring character in Lord El Melloi II Case Files. Haven't read it so I'm not sure what she's doing there, but it seems to me like Nasu wants us to do some detective work on our own, before FGO reveals what Olga's deal is.

>Anyways, our Sion and the "Tsukihime Lostbelt Sion" are quite different, huh?
Her Tsuki/Melty version is a lot cuter imo. Don't care for her FGO design at all.

>After reading FGO you would assume Lev is talking about Goetia's plot right?
That was indeed what I assumed.
Speacially because I interpreted his "You're 2000 years too late" as "You (the Animuspheres) failed to realize [thing] when you truly needed, now it's too late" but considering his expression right before saying it, that the Animuspheres did something bad is probably right.

>A lot contradicts what we know about Olga from FGO so it should have caught your attention.
Well, "Tsukihime Lostbelt's Olga" already being dead during the manga, Tsuki/Melty LB Sion encounring our Olga in one of the "simulations" and that mysterious ghost Olga sure opens up some questions.
Is there any chances of ghost Olga being you-know-who even at that point?

>Lord El Melloi II Case Files
I only watched the OVA? precursor to the anime series, so I'm even more out of the loop on this one.

>but it seems to me like Nasu wants us to do some detective work on our own, before FGO reveals what Olga's deal is.
Oh, one of those ARG things I see, I'll let Sherlock deal with it.

Oh~ Now that you mention it, both have some eerie vibes going on. And considering You-know-who, that perception does seen quite likely (even so, if the Priestess, who never uttered a word so far, were to suddenly speak "the future will not change", I would need to find a random table and flip it).

>Sion
She is pretty cool.
But then again, our Sion is filling the role that was once DaVinci's and Romani's before her, so essentially a background character, and on top of that our communication with her is cut rather frequently, so it's hard to have some spotlight in contrast with the one that was pretty much the protagonist.
Also, I'm someone of simple tastes, and I like a long, straight down hair way more than twintails.

Honestly, being locked into using ortinax doesn't bother me. I don't think it's shit so much as OG Mash is OP and ortinax is just a nerf. It's not hard to build a roster to compensate for ortinax's limitations, it's not like I found Enma-tei impossible to complete or anything. >Honestly, being locked into using ortinax doesn't bother me. I don't think it's shit so much as OG Mash is OP and ortinax is just a nerf.
This mindset needs to go.

This game's difficulty was bullshit and super hard, nerfing one of the BEST free defender in the game means that you're effectively crippled when it comes to F2P.
>[...] it's not like I found Enma-tei impossible to complete or anything [...]
Oh fucking fair point, because you have Skadi, or Merlin, or Reines, or Waver or Tamamo, or all of them in the first place. Of course it's easy with either one of them available.
>>3624869
>Amiya is the main character of AK and the player is just her pet rock.
Doctor has zero relevancy in the story.
>>3624993
Of course I *do*!
FUCK NO. Up in these fucking asses. Not. A. Single. Time. Do we get an actual female protagonist that doesn't sucks ass and act as a scarecrow. Look at GFL's anime. The official female protagonist fucking bland and boring. It's almost scary how they definitely made her like that intentionally to focus on the dolls instead. I don't want self-insert faggotry, I DON'T want useless protagonist. Either give no protagonist, or make one that actually does something and is a good character, which both of them are impossible anyways. Because muh catering the normie otakunts and weeaboos alike.

I didn't misread you faggot. Your argument that the game was "bullshit and super hard" before Ortinax Mash is straight up false. As evidenced by the fact you can clear the entire part 1 story with 1-3* servants.

What is this? Almost looks almost like a color illustration for an LN or something with the splash text.

While what >>3624869 said is part of it, if I had to point fingers and accuse a culprit, I'd probably say it's new players, and how DW have to include them somehow or another, in essence, the very essence of the game. Because surely no one was happy about, say, Beni's event be locked behind LB3, thus, most events nowadays just have Fuyuki as requirement, so that veterans who are slacking on the Main Story completion and -speacially- new players, are still able to partake on said events. Of course, new players will always be confused, as to why DaVinci is small for example, but Ortinax is another major spoiler (while not always the case, I wouldn't be surprised if Sion, Homes and Gordy were left out of the current event for the same reason)... I don't remember which event it was, but there was one that they even revived a certain doctor which was very awkward for veteran players, and they probably realized since they never did it again, but still, they are leaving Mashu home, to leave the [Early game vs Late game] discrepancies at a minimum.

Are you talking about GudaGuda?
(I ask, but it really the only answer, right?)

>>3625046
I almost want to go through all the PVs to see how many times they use Gudako vs Gudao. . . almost (plus, the answer would probably sadden me).

>>3625327
>but it's just not the same when Mash isn't around to get all flustered when girls hit on Gudako.
Like how Doc Kykeon nonchalantly asked Gudako if she wanted to run away with her?

The lack of time is real, I'm around 30 as well (could be higher, but having to change the line-up for every single mission is kinda annoying).

Speak for thyself.

Also,

According to Google Translate, it seems to be just a normal fanart inspired by the Heian-Kyo event (kinda late tho, so maybe there's more to it, but this is as far as I can go).

Most of the time in FGO PVs they will either show both Gudas or neither, so there isn't that huge a disparity (there's a few exceptions though). It's really the mainstream TV/movies where Gudako consistently gets the short straw.

>What?
Gonna take a wild guess and say it's a reference to the JP case files event, but I'm not sure
>>
>>3625621
Different anon, but I do agree that nerfing Mash was a dick move towards the F2P gamers in that regard. Events have some bullshit fights going on and aren't that easy to pull off with 1-3* Servants. I would say the same goes for story too. You have to really invest in those servants to go into the Lostbelts with them and it only really gets more bullshit going forward. I certainly would have a hard time with Atlantis part 2 with just silver and bronze. A gimped Mash doesn't help there.

Oh, that's right, it's usually neither of them (both in anniversary PVs and such), guess I was focusing too much on the EoR PVs, since they had one or the other.

Luckly, I'm not the curious time, otherwise I would be thinking about it for 2 years.

Aaaaand we're talking about the part that Ortinax becomes available which is part 2 ONWARDS in the first place. That should become clearer for you.

I don't hate her. What you can blame her though is the kind-of-bland personality. Then again, that's the writer's fault. A major fault at that.

I'm perfectly fine, I checked my body temperature and it ranges from 60 degrees Celsius to 80 most of the time. Couldn't be that mad all the time.

'Was' is past tense, implying you were talking before Ortinax. If you're saying part 2 WAS super hard, that implies you already cleared it. In which case I don't see why you're whining about it.

By the time you get to the lostbelts you should have a well-developed team to handle the harder content. I agree Ortinax Mash is bullshit but it really only hurts you in the fights that force you to use her. Most of the other lostbelt fights are not that hard outside of bosses. And if bosses give you trouble, well, either level up your shit or start using quartz revives.
>>

>By the time you get to the lostbelts you should have a well-developed team to handle the harder content.
DIfferent anon, but hoo boy some people have really shit luck with Gacha games. Having a well-developed team is not a guarantee in FGO at all. Especially if you don't pay a single dime. The longer the game lasts, the shittier newer players will have it.
>>
>>3626278
I wonder why anyone would continue bothering with this shitty game if their gacha luck is THAT shit.
