The season itself also seems to be a serious war drama, which is nice since it means it will avoid the pitfalls of S1.

Filthy anime-only here. Does this new season have anything to do with the first one? Even though I don't remember much from it (holy shit its been 7 years?!!) I do remember liking it. And Fubuki as well, even though I'm pretty sure everyone didn't like that she was the MC.From the 1st episode it seems interesting, but gives off a heavy/serious vibe, very different from S1,not in a bad way. We'll have to see where they go with that on this one.

I kept looking for torrents named Kantai Collection and wondered why no one was releasing anything until I searched for KanColle instead. I'm surprised by the artsy-fartsy feel with the piano music, the low angle shots, and the overall gloomy feel. It's definitely different than the CSDCT feel of the first season and feels much more like the tone established by the movie. The pot smoking destroyer was always my favorite, I hope she survives so she can smoke all the pot.
