Recent News:The new versions of Akai Ito and Aoishiro launch May 25Decarnation out May 31
>>3947785How is the translation?
>>3947789General opinion so far seems to be that it's clunky and not great, but not unreadable garbage either. There's a lot of debate on whether this or the fan patch are "worse".
>https://vndb.org/v19273Just finished playing this. It left me emotionally wounded. I didn't know what I was getting into when this vn appeared after clicking the random button on vndb. The closer I got to the end, the more I subconsciously ignored all the hints left here and there hoping it wouldn't end the way it did. Maybe I'm just weak against this kind of stuff. Anything else I could play to heal my mind now?
>>3947796Kindred Spirits on the Roof
>>3947796If you just need something completely diabetic and moe to wash the bitter taste from your mouth then Lilycle Rainbow Stage is pretty much a condensed neutron star of that.
>>3947810NTA but I remember nothing about that visual novel beside that it burned my eyes whenever I played it at night and the kino tsundere x tsundere StuCo couple. I need to replay it now that you mentioned it.
>>3947818It's as shallow as the kiddie pool, but it has a healing quality to it and a lot of content to boot.
>>3947821It's basically a cgdct visual novel so that's a given. It's not necessary a bad thing though. It's read like a bunch of oneshots sharing the same universe and I love reading those things.
>>3947796Just checked the CG on sadpanda and there are bits that I didn't see at all like this one>https://exhentai.org/s/b68855926c/1028934-200Wonder if I just played an older release of the game without bonus content. I did unlock an additional bonus chapter after playing all the Tips at the end but that was about it
Anyone tried this? Hella Yuri says says you can date female characters, but I'd like to know more.
>>3947831The Switch version has a couple extra scenes but that particular CG is not in the game anyway, just promotional art.
>>3947838There's a few major npcs that you can date, like the girl in your picture
Any jrpg with femMC option and female romance for PC?
>>3947873Persona 3 Portable.
>>3947873Nights of AzureRune Factory 5Eien no FilenaDragon's Dogma
>>3947796The audiodramas are also pretty good, you should give them a try after washing away your pain with some uplifting soft yuri booze. Gotta admit there's nothing quite like Seabed out there, not even literary wise and I wish there was a way to buy the ost.
>>3948791The ost is just royalty free music you don't need to buy it.
>>3948466Isn't the romance system in Dragon's Dogma really convoluted?
>>3949619Yeah, it's vital to the final segment of the game but is never properly communicated to the player how it works or even that it exists.
>>3949619I recall it being pretty simple behind the scenes. Whoever is the last glowy person you talk to ends up being your final partner, and to make people glowy you just spam actions that raise their affection. Granted, the game doesn't communicate it very well (or at all), and certain NPCs leave the game entirely after you finish their quests, so it's easy to screw up and miss out on a romance you wanted to pursue.
>>3949623Is it even a romance at that point?
>>3949625Depending on your definition of romance. The post-game dialogue is kind of romantic for some NPCs, and Aelinore's questline is pretty close to a textbook romance story. But at the end of the day, yes, the act of "romancing" somebody in DDDA boils down to maxing out their affection and making sure they're the last person you talk to. The game doesn't exactly encourage deep personal connections between the player and the NPCs, you play it because it's fun and then the option to make a cute girl your beloved is just kinda there if you want it.
>>3949623I think there was something you could abuse with a merchant which bricked people. I never did anything like that, and got the main girl just fine. I.. think she was the main girl. Never knew about the merchant thing until after being long since done with the game.
>>3949638I don't recall abusing any glitches in my first playthrough, but I still got pranked by one of the merchants in the main city just because I bought and sold a lot of things. At least it wasn't the "they're masterworks all" guy who seems to get a lot of people on their first time around.
>>3949638I think you're thinking of people inadvertently maxing out the merchant's affection by talking+selling stuff to him constantly.
So this fantasy tactical RPG game called Wildermyth allows you to make lesbians couples with your characters. No one told about this. Even allows them to have children, possibly with magic mumbo jumbo. One of my characters on this run has the uncanny ability to be around when a certain couple of mine are having sex.
>>3949776It's surprisingly fun game.
Nee-san's, I recently nodded out my psvita. Any good /u/ games I should put on it? PSP and PSX games are also welcome.
>>3950643Nothing that is exclusive to the PS Vita. You can get all of it elsewhere.
>>3950643Gravity Rush 2 is the only Vita exclusive that have subtext. (First game have nothing but het subtext)
>>3950657Gravity Rush 2 is literally on the PS4...
>>3949776The Hella Yuri group on Steam posted about it a couple years ago, I think, but since the game's still updated and expanded it's worth posting.
I recently started a Pokemon White 2 run and just remembered the patch mentioned last thread. Anyone know if these kinds of patches will work with vanilla saves or if you have to restart completely? If they don't I will probably just skip it, not like I do their events normally anyway.
>>3949776I have this one but haven't played it for long time i need to check it out again
>>3950649I see. Any PSP games I should put on it? I know there's Fate and Summon Night 5.
Steam has an EA sale going on, so all the Bioware games are dirt cheap (yes even jade Empire is on sale for once). For anyone who somehow missed those until now, the time's come to get them.
>>3951713If you don't have a pc, P3P. Then go a step further and mod the female Social Links to be gay/more gay than they were in the base game.
So everyone was raving about Volcano Princess last thread and I like it a lot. But one thing I want to know is what happens if you max out the affection of the boat grandpa? The achievement says you marry "Ellen" who I assume is gramps grandkid. But is it a girl or a boy? This is a very unfortunate unisex name, especially for Chinese devs.I already know the blacksmith route makes you marry his son, so I'm avoiding that too.
>>3952484How is Ellen an unisex name?
>>3952490Because it is used for boys and girls. I didn't think I needed to explain the definition of unisex. This goes twice as hard when we are talking about Chinese devs who have only a vague understanding of foreign names and just pick what sounds good. This is the same game that spells Brian as Bryan and Brain without any consistency. For all I know they wanted to write Alan.
>>3952506I have never heard of a boy named Ellen.
>>3952509I don't care.
>>3952506Ellen is not a unisex name.
>>3952506Why not switch the language to Chinese, check how the name is originally written, and then look up the proper translation if it bothers you so much?
>>3952484Allen is a random unseen guy. The ending is just Rose keeping in touch with the grandpa while mentioning that she lives nearby with her husband.Source: I checked and was a bit disappointed
>>3952530Right, let me just pick out and redraw a Chinese name when I don't know a lick of Chinese. If you don't know anything just stay quiet next time.>>3952536I feel vindicated for being cautious now, despite those morons not getting the point. That is unfortunate, because for the balance of genders among love interests it would have been really nice if it was a random girl instead.
That aside tho I didnt expect that horse racing gets my daughter groupies. Nice.
>>3952563>Right, let me just pick out and redraw a Chinese name when I don't know a lick of Chinese.OCR exists, dummy.
>>3952584You're trying too hard and not in a cute way.
>>3952588You're literally so useless you can't take a screenshot of some Chinese words and run them through OCR, so you resort at snapping at everyone on an anonymous Malaysian horse milking forum. That's not cute, anon.
>>3952518Chalk it down to ESL issue. Ellen has always been a girl's name. Allen is a boy's name that came from thousands of miles away.
I watched the Indie Live Expo stream earlier to see if there's anything with yuri potential. It was pretty barren but there's at least this one called Noctuary. Their page says it's a visual novel but it's clearly got gameplay. I'll keep an eye on it. Still waiting for Affogato and Utter Inverse to be released. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2143680/Noctuary/
>>3952792It's like all you retards all missed the point even when I was literally proven right.
>>3953337Calm down, Ellen.
Any upcoming mobile games that look like they’ll be good? I’m avoiding starrail after what they did to honkai. En or Jp is fine, but I’ve got nothing I’m playing right now since I got bored of Arknights
>>3953862If you want gacha then just go to the gacha thread, right? I'll just tell you the same thing as usual: Towa Tsugai and Heaven Burns Red. Both JP only.
>>3953864Do we have a separate gacha thread now? My bad.
>>3953865Always check the OP. Though as far as I can tell that thread is basically dead most of the time.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2262610/Endless_Monday_Dreams_and_Deadlines/Is there yuri in this?
>>3954984Vndb says no.
>>3947796I replayed Katahane to take my mind off it, the nostalgia hit pretty hard. I hope the last audio drama episodes won't wreck me as hard.
>>3955548 >katahaneToo bad it got tainted by hetshit.
Look I know Neptunia is not the best or most consistent franchise when it comes to /u/ content, but all of them are on sale right now on Steam for cheap. If you don't know which games have something halfway relevant, just buy Rebirth 1-3 and VII as well as the Blanc vs. Zombies spin-off and maybe the Senran Kagura crossover if you like your bait mixed with more bait.
>>3955781But they don't get in the way of the yuri so it's not really a problem.
>>3955844>Not recommending 4 Goddesses Online, the last game where they did anything even remotely, gogglably gay>And it's actually kinda funShame on you Imouto
>>3955844Oddly passive-aggressive way to recommend a game.
>>3947792The screenshots they've shown are unreadable garbage though. If it's not MTL, it's even worse.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2192620/ghostpia_Season_One/This might be worth looking out for
>>3956085It looks fine to me. Nothing worse then a fan patch.
>>3956135I don't know about "fine". It's not quite MTL-tier (at least Akai Ito; Aoishiro seems to be worse for some reason), but it desperately needs an editor.
>>3955966Any "yuri" game that has mandatory het sex scenes in it loses a lot of points on /u/. Don't be obtuse.
>>3956004Nothing remotely gay happens with any of the main characters. That screenshot is always used, but it's a deceptive side-gag.>>3956018The Neptunia franchise is junk food and not for everyone. It has such a bad reputation that even just suggesting it usually gets you attacked by retards, so I was just stating the facts without turning this into a debate.
>>3956299The het has no effect on the yuri side of the story, you're the one being obtuse.
>>3956305That doesn't matter. Just because you can screw your head up your own ass during the het parts and pretend they aren't there doesn't change the fact that the overall game experience is worse for the rest of /u/s. I'm not saying the game is worthless like that time some retard here recommended a het rape game for the "yuri", but Katahane is definitely far below it's potential because those dumbass writers didn't get who their audience was.
>>3956309Speak for yourself, you can easily skip the het parts like any sane individual. Anne and Belle's development is easily one of the better yuri stories out there, especially for its time. The het isn't involved in their story, you're just being an asshat.
>>3956319You are making false dichotomies and create non-existent standards. "The het doesn't affect the yuri" is not an actual argument and never has been. And you tell me to skip through the het sections, when a lot of what those characters do connects the past story for the audience. Not to mention that the most pivotal moment of the past chapter is from the perspective of a guy and the girls are just in there as plot devices. And if you have to skip at least 20% of the damn game, then 20% of the game are wasted. There is no cope for this, the game simply suffers from bad decisions. What the fuck is your problem anyway retard? You went to /u/ and thought people would not think the experience suffers from the mandatory het content? What is there to disagree with? By admitting that you skip that shit you also admit that you had to avoid content of the game because it made your experience worse.
>>3956329Anon there are only 3 short het sex scenes that you can skip, it barely take up much of the content and doesn't matter to the plot at all. The yuri parts of the story is good for what it is and can be enjoyed without reading through the het. There's twice the amount of yuri sex scenes than het and it's pretty clear the yuri relationships has the greater importance since it's the center of their play. Like I said, you're just being an asshat that wants to be upset at something silly for the sake of having an argument.
>>3956329>when a lot of what those characters do connects the past story for the audienceNobody's saying you should skip all the parts that feature those characters, just fast forward through het sex scenes. They're not talking about fucking politics while having sex, you won't miss anything.
>>3956309>dumbass writers didn't get who their audience was. They wrote what they wanted to write, not for your entitled ass. The presence of het doesn't make the story worse objectively ,nor does converting it to yuri make it any better. Sure, most of us in /u/ would prefer no het and more yuri and it would affect our personal evaluation of them, but it fundamentally doesn't change the quality/potential of the story.>>3956329You can just skip the hetsex like the rest of us without missing anything important. Or are you seriously saying you're actually a Trigglypuff allergic to the mere presence of het romance?
>>3956341You really are a dumbass who also needs glasses. I already said quite clearly that it's only 20%, so I know the majority of the game focuses on yuri. I also said it's fine and I won't call the game worthless. The yuri parts are good. It doesn't change the fact, no matter how much you deflect, that the game is marred by shitty het content that shouldn't be in it. Why is it so hard for retards of your level to comprehend that something you like can have parts that suck? Why do you always have to cope with bullshit like >b-b-but you can skip the parts you don't like!>there are ONLY 3 MANDATORY het sex scenes in this game, so it's basically like there is no het at all! This is 2010 level coping that I thought we left behind us, but apparently you aren't just nostalgic for old games, but also oldschool escapism.>>3956350I seriously don't think you understand, basically most of the stupid relationship between those two is boring and simultaneously hot garbage. Yeah I'm the one who said it's necessary, but I also wish it wasn't. Also once again, the existence of a skip buttong doesn't undo the existence of het sex in this fucking "yuri" game. This can't possibly be this hard to understand. If it was optional, decision based content it would be far more forgivable, but it is not. Accept that this shit is bad and move on with your life.>>3956355>what they wanted to writeWhich is het sex scenes, which is not what a yuri audience wants, which means they missed their audience.>entitled>het doesn't make it objectively worse>arte you seriously against het romance too??!!! Not just the sex???Wrong board bucko. Maybe don't be this obvious next time. I sweat this stupid obtuseness only happens in these crossboarer threads.
>>3956355>The presence of het doesn't make the story worse objectively ,nor does converting it to yuri make it any betterCouldn’t be any more wrong even if you tried>usGo back
>>3956361Calm down, Ellen.
>>3956361You simply could have just said the existence of het ruined your experience from the start, you didn't have to make it sound like the girls got turned to het. Having a melty over the smallest things isn't good for you.
>>3956361>sperging this hard over literally nothingFucking newfags these days.
>>3956377Now you are just projecting some nonsense onto my posts to somehow pretend you weren't completely missing reality. Talk about desperate.>>3956380>sperging over het content in yuri game>newfagYou really are so bad at pretending to be an oldfag, let alone from this board. It's kind of embarrassing.
>>3956387Anon read your first post, then take your meds.
>>3956388You need to get an appointment with a psychologist right after your stop by the optician, because if you project not only that my entire experience was somehow ruined from that post, but also that it somehow had to be the yuri couple being forced into het, then that just means your brain is completely out of whack. Not to mention that every single post after that one also contradicts this mindless narrative.Get therapy.
>>3956392I hope you do realize you’re just being baited into replying
>>3956398That would be terrible bait. This idiot is just actually stupid. I can tell the difference, sadly.
>>3956387No one is making you play the game you know. You're just sperging to sperg.
>>3956410>goalposts: moved
>>3956411Calling you a lunatic isn't a goalpost. And I didn't move it either.
>>3956392Anon you're literally just rambling about the het, from what I can see the yuri is good as you've mentioned but you're throwing a tantrum like a manchild because someone corrected you over something that can be ignored.
>>3956410Oh so now it's about how I don't have to play the game, instead of how "the het content is actually totally not that bad and you can skip it after all".This is getting pretty sad.>>3956420>correctedUntil this post nobody has actually corrected me about anything. I was right from start to finish and some anons were just going further and further down a cope spiral that ended in a bunch of deflections and goalpost shifting.>can be ignoredI can ignore all het that ever existed, but it sure would be easier if it wasn't happening in "yuri" works. This is just so damn retarded. This is the equivalent of telling a vegetarian to just ignore the butcher slaughtering a pig right in front of them while they eat their salad. Sure they can look away or plug their ears, but maybe just don't do it in the first place?
>>3956422>Oh so now it's about blah blah blahI just called you crazy. You can keep imagining whatever you want and continue to throw autistic fits over it if you like I guess, but it just proves the point.Like I said, fucking newfags these days. God you're so fragile.
>>3956361>can't see how entitled they are>big, fragile ego insisting own personal preference is superior and objectiveNot our problem you're so poorly adjusted that you feel the need to sperg out over a game not catered to you.>arte you seriously against het romance too??!!! Not just the sex???Never said that, it's your small brain that's incapable of comprehending the difference between being triggered and not caring about something.>crossboarerIf you think anyone who doesn't share your deranged mentality must be from somewhere else, you're delusional.
>>3955844>sisters vs Sisters is only 30% offCall me when it's 50% or more
>>3956432>The presence of het doesn't make the story worse objectively ,nor does converting it to yuri make it any betterTraditional crossie talk, not that anon either
>>3956431>I just called you blah blah blahNo, you said I don't have to play the game. That is the only thing you actually said. Who is actually crazy here? Also you are crying over someone having a slightly bad impression of a game you like. Peak fragile.>>3956432>doesn't get what /u/ is about>all quality is relative and we have to accept het content now>I'm totally not a crossboarder!Hah.
>>3956433I recommend waiting for at least 80% for any nepu game.
>>3956422Crazy how you just proved my point and you still don't see it.
So I finally finished my first playthrough of Volcano Princess. Was aiming for Nina the whole time (she was around 290+) but I guess I fucked up somewhere because I got married to Mona instead (which isn't bad at all since they had a magic baby together)Any nee-sans here with any tips on what I might have done wrong, and also for how to make NG+ faster or stuff like that? I'm kinda annoyed I didn't snag Nina desu, and want to do a couple more playthroughs (Nina>Nina+Mona>Gwyneth at least. Anyone else I'm missing?)
>>3956433The game came out this year, so it's not a surprise. I didn't recommend it either as you may have noticed.
>>3956436I bought rebirth 1 for 50% back in the day and it was enjoyable. My laptop can't run VII though, so I just watched that one on youtube, but I think that one would also be worth buying.
>>3956435The game creators didn't make the game for autists. Much less /u/ autists, the worst kind of autism.
>>3956438Wrong time to ask now sis, not while there is a schizo rambling about het.
>>3956435/u/ is a board about yuri content, not a tribalistic cabal that you so badly want it to be. Go back to /lgbt/ or /pol/ (or wherever the fuck you came from) if you want to sperg about these things (and don't come back).Quality isn't relative, tastes are. And no one said anything about accepting het content except you, who can't tell the difference between ignoring and accepting something.
>>3956441>I didn't recommend it either as you may have noticed.I just want to play it because there is a bunch of fanfics that spoil it and I want to read them, but I can't.
>>3956438If Nina had the highest affection level yet you somehow ended up with Mona and not the poly ending, then I can only assume you rejected one of Nina's events. In the morning of a new month characters will appear at your doorstep sometimes and papa can tell them to fuck off. If you did that with the enoy that asked Rose to meet Nina then you locked yourself out.>how can I make it fasterYou got a point bonus for getting achievements, so you can use those on the NG+ shop on the title screen which will make things easier. I recommend boosting stats first.>anyone else I am missing? You can marry Connie (the nun), Rebecca (the tailor) and Mary (the bathhouse owner). I personally like Nina the most with Rose, but Gwyneth has like the only profession ending that is directly linked to her (the queen ending), so that has great synergy.
>>3956451Just pirate it then
Sorry to interrupt your bitchfest, but has anyone played the Sucker for Love demo? You play as a girl, and she immediately gets hot and bothered the moment she sees the goat mommy gf, but the gameplay so far has been kind of meh, so I'd like to know if there are any more romantic interactions in the future or if it's just a comedy with Lovecraftian themes disguised as a dating sim for laughs.
>>3956444>>3956447You are so obviously crossboarders it hurts. One is just not trying to hide it, while the other is trying too hard to pretend.
>>3956445You know the funniest part? If all these morons had just said "Yeah the het parts suck, game would have been better without them" there would literally be no argument. This didn't happen because of a schizo sperging about het, this happened because people defended het being in the game or by downplaying it.
>>3956458>downplaying itThere is no reason to downplay something that doesn't affect anyone.
>>3956458They did say it didn't get in the way immediately. Schizos gonna schizo, as always.
>>3956458The funniest part is the moron bringing up het out of nowhere.
>>3956459Getting really bored of these low effort replies. I will ignore you from now on.>>3956460That is literally downplaying the fact that it's in there in the first place. How many times do I need to repeat that the ability to skip bad content doesn't erase the decision to put the bad content in there in the first place?Yup, none of you have had anything halfway smart to say from the start. Moving on then.
>>3956462>out of nowhere>literally responded to some anon with nostalgia goggles saying how great katahane isIt was a pretty objective and short comment. Only the het defense squad schizos could derail a thread like this, as usual.
>>3956465>It was a pretty objective and short comment.>nooo stop enjoying the thing you enjoyed
>>3956435Yeah I said you don't have to play the game, which is true, and you went into some bullshit about moving goalposts assuming I was someone else. You're crying about a game you don't have to touch. I haven't played it either.
>>3956465It was great regardless of het. The yuri bits were great and that's all that matters, you're just looking for an excuse to have a confrontation by being upset over nothing.
Do you people ever get tired of having the exact same argument over and over again
>>3956463>How many times do I need to repeat that the ability to skip bad content doesn't erase the decision to put the bad content in there in the first place?Zero times, because you actually don't have to say it at all and can just not start arguments over someone saying "I played a yuri VN".
>>3956456Just don’t replyThere are more worthwhile buttons to press
>>3956135>>3956144If anyone here is going to buy and play them upon release, please post your impressions of their general translation quality. I'm probably going to buy both regardless of whether they are good or not, as I want to show that there's an interest in these kinds of VNs. However, I don't have the time at the moment to check them out myself.
>>3956466>literally not related to any point that was made>>3956467You are crying about someone saying a bad thing about a game you have never played.>>3956468I never asked for a confrontation. All I said was that the game was dragged down by het content (not even that the game was ruined). That reality check didn't agree with you. I get it.
>>3956465Yeah the incredibly impassioned defense of "I don't care, just ignore it" followed by paragraphs of rage.
>>3956444Go back and kill yourself
>>3956478No, you said the yuri was dragged down by het, as if the het got in the way of the yuri, which is wrong. But yea sure let's move the goalpost.
>>3956469Apparently not.
>>3956489By being there it gets in the way of it being a proper yuri game and yuri experience, yeah. I know your crossboarders just see yuri as a bonus in your het works, but around here we actually highly dislike when literal het sex gets shoved into our yuri works.
>I'm ignoring you now>keeps going>you're crying>no you're cryingFeels like I'm on a forum in the 2000s again.
It wouldn't be /u/ without the daily sperging.
>>3956496Someone should make an enemies to lovers yuri vn about these two

>>3956553I wonder why Mr. anon.
>>3956455Oh wait, that's the Lovecraftian romance game, right?I thought you played a guy there.
>>3956557Rude.
>>3956632No, pic related is who you play as, at least in the demo. You can see more of her in the trailer. I doubt the full game is going to pull a Fate Extra, so it's safe to assume she's going to be the protag.I have answered my own question though, the demo ended about 10 minutes after I made the post and there wasn't enough content to 100% confirm whether anything romantic is actually going to happen with anybody.
>>3956632>>3956638Oh, I just noticed it's a second game in the series. You do play as a guy in the first game, but it seems like there's no connection with the second game (so far) besides the theme of dating eldritch horrors.
>>3956646>dating eldritch horrors. Can't be too different from my ex...
>>3956646If it is like the first game, then yeah. But it's also very tongue in-cheek. Like, ya know, dating Cthulhu who is a yandere, or Hastur who is a haughty princess type. Oh and it involves the end of the world of course.
am I the only one who has this problem >:(
>>3956696Do you have the RTPs and stuff?
>>3956701I do. I've been playing the game for a long while now. It just crashes at this certain spot. How many RTPs do I need? I might install them all just in case.
Yeah nothing is working.Maybe its a sign from god that I've wasted too much fucking time playing this game already.good bye alouette
I just wish there were yuri games or games with proper yuri content that aren't either VNs (which I don't consider real videogames in the first place) or shovelware (Valkyrie Drive, Samurai Maiden, Nights of Azure, etcetera).
>>3956706You should just need the RTP for the version of RGPmaker the game's on. If it's crashing at a certain scene this sounds like you're missing a resource or there's corrupted data or whatever.
>>3956727You mean to say low to mid budget. Shovelware is something very different. For starters, it's cheap to buy, and the individual game isn't cared about. You can find that stuff in masses on steam. Single full price retail games will never fall under that term, regardless of personal bias, quality or whatever.
>>3956727With that kind of dismissive attitude, you'll be waiting for a long time.
>>3956727Outside of a few WRPGs (can't say anything JRPGs), you'll have a miserable time trying to find anything. You'll be lucky to find anything that's just /u/-friendly, let alone actual /u/.
>>3956727>not playing hat world
Akai Ito and Aoi Shiro are officially released on Steam. I eagerly await for someone to report on the translation's quality of both.
>>3956778Akai Ito is decently polished so far. It flows okay. Haven't tried Aoi Shiro. The HD visuals are absolutely AMAZING, and the proper remastered audio is great.
Just bought them. Should I play Akai Ito first, or does the order not matter?
>>3956793I'd play Akai Ito first; Aoi Shiro relies on some background knowledge
>>3956795Got it. I plan on playing in Japanese. Do they use a lot of weird vocabulary? It seemed pretty basic in the previews.
>>3956797They use a ton of terms and stuff established in Japanese Mythology that is taught to you in Akai Ito
>>3956792This is so fucking weird; I've played both and Akaiito seems like it was done by a completely separate team; it's quite good! Aoi Shiro is okay. But it's a clear step down. What the fuck happened?
I am trying to think of what the best year for yuri in video games was and I can't think of any solid contenders besides 2022, it was just too strong.
>>3956836Noticed the same; maybe Success hired two different translators?
>>3956837What came out in 2022 that made it so strong?
>>3956972My kidney stones.
>>3956972Signalis.
>>3956836>>3956840How does the translation compare to Zohar's? When I first saw the previews, I checked out a video of one scene that I recognized, and it felt like a slightly more awkward reformulation of their work. I don't have much time at the moment, but I'm planning on comparing them side by side later to see if that might actually be the case
>>3956727>I just wish there were yuri games with proper yuri content that aren't either VNsYou will be bitterly disappointed. Either you like it or not, vast majority of /u/-content is in these. And i mean REAL /u/-content, not just shitty and mostly in-your-head sUbTeXt.
>>3956727Just play Rabi-Ribi.
>>3957169Since that anon called Nights of Azure etc as shovelware they would probably classify Rabi-Ribi as one.
Could you not give the bait poster so many replies? Every single time, I swear. He didn't even bother to change his phrasing or diguise it in any way.
Am I the only one with this problem in akaiito? I can't read the text like this
>>3957197Maybe look in the files and see if there is a font file there that you can install?
>>3957199That's not a font problem, the game screen is just cropped there for some reason.
>>3956972SignalisSamurai MaidenHeaven Burns RedPotionomicsEver MaidenPlease Be HappyGrimgrimoire OnceMoreElden Ring (Ranni ending) D4DJ adding a canon couple Haven's yuri update Rune Factory 5, Flowers Hiver (English releases)Mary Skelter 2 (PC release)Akai Ito/Aoi Shiro remaster, Towa Tsugai, Witch&Lillies (announcements)I'm probably forgetting something so someone else can feel free to add to it
>>3957204Counting announcements is pretty weak anon. But I agree that last year was good for yuri. Don't forget Horizon Forbidden West. I know the DLC everyone cares about came out this year, but this AAA game already had gay content from the start that didn't feel shoehorned in.
>>3957206Yep, they added the same-sex options It was quite the big news
>>3957208That's why I put it at the bottom of the list. Even if I didn't include it you'd be hard-pressed to find another year like that.
Just in case anyone was wondering, Akai Ito and Aoi Shiro work perfectly with proton (I'm using ge-proton8-3).>>3956802Kind of annoying that words disappear from the list after you look at them.>>3957197The only problem I've had is that I have to change the language every time I start the game.
>>3957197The game supposedly ONLY supports 1080p. Shoddy programming.
>>3957317Any idea how I can bypass this? Fucking windows 10's scaling can't go below 100%
>>3957387It's a pretty glaring issue so I'm hoping a patch will be released soon enough.I fiddled with the game's internals a bit, and although it's easy to lower the resolution of the game itself, the background and text are still unreadable. I can see some references to resolution and scaling so I expect this is a "we forgot to get this working" rather than "we never even considered someone might have a screen that's not 1080p"
>>3956778from the kinderd spirits translator>well from playing up to the first choice in both games, my impression of akaiito is that it's a decently accurate TL that just fails to capture the actual style of the prose at all. it's amateurish but the TL reflects the original in some way. bare minimum achieved. >aoishiro is just word salad though. confused subjects, nonsense phrasing, multiple lines where the original was replaced with a duplicate of another line. the term encyclopedia is completely incomprehensible and the terrible formatting is not helping matters>no sort of attempt to either keep lines short enough to fit in one box or reduce the font size was made, so lines constantly run to a second box and if you click to see the entire line, it stops the voice clip from playing (both games)
>>3957204we need more signails
>>3957501It's so weird since the menu itself, video and many elements work fine with my screen, but the text box and backgrounds are messy. For now I'll be reading some of it through the backlog, that works fine for whatever reason
out of all the nothing in the Marvelous games stream, a new Rune Factory game and a spin-off were announced, hope they kept the option for yuri marriages
>>3957570Is there any place that explains all the references and metaphors in Signalis? I'm intellectually challenged and most of it went over my head, and the wiki is half-baked at best.>>3957517Odd that they apparently not only used two different translators, but also didn't hire an editor for Aoishiro. Or if they did, the editor did absolutely nothing, because a lot of lines are hard to read on top of being inaccurate.
>>3957593They also announced a new story of seasons mainline game which would have gay marriage and a multiplayer SoS which could also have it although who knows.
>>3957574>>3957317I got it to look like this.I played until just past the OP, and the only problem I found was the OP movie itself being miss-scaled. There's probably a few more issues I haven't seen but it's a lot more playable at the very least.https://files.catbox.moe/v863x6.zipJust drop this .dll inside AKAIITO_HD_REMASTER_Data\Managed and replace the one already there.
>>3957593I hope they listened to all the complaints about performance issues
>>3957517Where did you find this?
>>3957717https://twitter.com/tulipgoddess
>>3957517>kinderd spirits translatorTell him to translate Ever Maiden already.
>>3957778That's not a translator's decision to make, it's up to MG (most likely) to license it.
So the verdict is to either wait u til they fix it (unlikely) or wait until a version of new visuals with a better script is released on nyaa?Assuming the new visuals are worth not playing the old version.
>>3957842Is there a better script though? I don't think anyone in 2023 would bother editing a commercially released translation, and the old script wasn't exactly Shakespearean quality either.Personally I intend to read it in moon if I ever find the time. Though it will likely take ages as I'm a very slow reader.
>>3957840Fan patches are a thing.
>>3957887Translators working officially won't do that.
Hello. Thinking about playing Fallout 4, but I can do without hetshit start and stupid muh son plot. Are there any mods that fix it but without too much jank and breaking "immersion". Maybe even rewriting the quests to reflect that?
>>3957897You are insane.
>>3957897Look up "Start Me Up" on Nexus. It says you can choose to not be Shaun's parent, but I don't know how this is reflected in the main quest, so you might need to dig through reviews to find out.
>>3957899Insane would be replaying New Vegas for the 10th time
>>3957899>>3957906Todd go away.
>>3957755Wow, did i understood right - this is the person who translated KSoTR to english?
What are the chances for yuri romance in Starfield?
>>3957926You are insane (x2)
>>3957842I say Akaiito is fine to play right now, but Aoi Shiro needs a ton of work
>>3957842I thought about editing Akai Ito a bit -- just fixing some typos and making the grammar flow better. But I haven't finished either of the games yet and I don't want to spoil myselfFrom what I heard Aoi Shiro needs a new translation from the ground up, it's either that or just plugging the old fan patch in, but I don't know how good that one is either.
>>3957972>Use the old translations Actually someone could do that relatively easily; the new engine there using is unity.
>>3957982No engine changes needed, all the text is in plain-text script files.
>>3957972Considering the amount of text in these games even just editing them is no small endeavor.
>>3957972>how good that one is eitherIt's so-so >>3957845
>>3957905>Look up "Start Me Up" on Nexus. It says you can choose to not be Shaun's parent, but I don't know how this is reflected in the main quest, so you might need to dig through reviews to find out.If you choose the vault dweller or wastelander starts dialogue and quests are edited to make the PC unrelated to Shaun and Nate.
Feels pointless to try and spiff up the new Akaiito translation when we allready got Zohar's. Their translation was of fairly high quality and covered like 90% of the game, so if someone has the time and knowhow it would be best to just replace as much of the new translation as possible with their's.
>>3958020Do you have a download for it?
>>3958021If you're asking for just the translated text then sadly no, but there's an ISO on nyaa with that's been patched with it. At the moment there's still people seeding it.
>>3957897There is a same-sex marriage mod, but I don't know if it works anymore. Unfortunately it doesn't get rid of the retard son.
>>3958040Hmm, somebody posted an updated patch on the comments of that nyaa post, but it doesn't seem to include a standalone English translation, it's baked inside some binary script file that's difficult to parse. Ironically enough there's a perfectly organized folder of all the game's text, but in Japanese. I'm downloading the ISO but I suspect it's going to be the same story.
Volcano Princess devs announced a new update, some more /u/ stuff in there:-They will rework the Lebsa ending- New FFF ending : MonaXGwynlethXDaughter
>>3958077I was thinking of playing this soon; I assume neither of those things are worth waiting for for a first time playthrough?
>>3958090Those aren't particularly important but from a /u/ perspective, you may want to wait for the Lebsa rework if you intend to marry her
>>3958068Yeah, I can't figure out how to extract the raw English text from the patch. Maybe if I had the Japanese version of the game I'd be able to cross-reference the text amidst the binary, but alas. It's not like the translation is awful by any means.
>tried a game called sb catfight>only 4 cgssigh, maybe it will be complete next year...
>>3958142How much did you pay for this game?
>>3958142it will be complete in 3 years at minimumhttps://www.patreon.com/DoNyan/posts
>>3958077Huh. Neat.
>>3958077Yeah the Volcano Princess devs are amazing. Those two girls really pour their love into the game. If you give them enough time they may even add back in the mechanics they had to drop, like the magic crafting system and some other stuff you only see remnants of.>MonaXGwynlethXDaughterThis is just so weird to me though. Gwyneth and Mona is an odd combination. I know that Gwyneth specifically enjoys visiting Mona's restuarant (which is crazy for royalty) and that Moan admires Gwyneth, but still. The NinaMona poly ending just made perfect sense to me, but this is kinda weird. Then again, I can't think of any other poly yuri stuff that would make much sense either and Gwyneth is THE most popular romance option by a country mile. Maybe Mary and Rebecca? Like some kind of onee-san sandwhich. To be fair though, the stupid reverse harem ending is also ridiculous, so maybe it doesn't need to make sense.I would love fo them to add some of the non-romancable girls as profession related ending marriages. There are already some stupid endings where she just gets married to some rando, so why not add some of these cute girls you meet during activities or events?>>3958090The game is made to be replayed, so you can definitely get a couple of runs in and just come back for a major update like that and replay it again.
>>3958117You can make a patch for the commercial release?
>>3958269If you mean the remaster, it's in Unity so you can patch it to do whatever you want. That's not necessary for localization changes however, you can freely edit the language files in the game's data directory.Anyway, after trudging through a few decade old resources, I think I figured out how the old patch works, so I might be able to port it to the new game soon. Assuming Aoi Shiro's internal structure is the same, it should be possible for that remaster as well.
>>3958077>Mona keeps desperately inserting herself into every possible romanceSomeone find her a girlfriend already.
>>3958279Isn't that the point? She gets two girlfriends for the price of one! Also Mona continues to be the only female romance option that Rose can have a magic baby with (as far as we know). Clearly there is some bias going on here.
>>3958284Maybe Mona is one of the devs (female) self-insert.
>>3958286Kinda doubt it. While the amount of yuri content is commendable, het pairings still get more content and attention overall. Like even this new update adds 2 het poly options and only one yuri poly ending. And this just kinda makes sense, because there are less female romance options to work with and most of them are not really connected like the guys are. Lets just count ourselves lucky they didn't add another ffm ending.
>>3957632Good job and thanks anon!
>>3957632This is perfect, thank you so much!
>>3957211>Kind of annoying that words disappear from the list after you look at them.Tamatebako -> dictionary. There they stay permanently
>>3957755>the climactic final battle is total machine TL gibberish>alright well at the start I was thinking maybe you could play this and get sort of an idea of what the story was supposed to be like watching a bad anime adaptation of something but the TL quality takes a real nosedive at the end so I really cannot recommend playing thisWell... that really killed my enthusiasm. If someone here has reached the credits for a route already, it would be really interesting to know who was credited for this debacle.
>>3947784After 3 years, I finally got around to updating that sticky of all the yuri game CGs on the OP. >>3959579>They are sisters, and not even in the lewd yuri wayThat's makes it more better then.
>>3959722No, you need to get Uzuki's true ending first to unlock Sakuya's route
DA, I just finished Uzuki's route. The translation for the most part was fine, despite being a bit literal and stiff. But around the start of the final battle it became an incomprehensible mess.
>>3960089So was it horses that bit Uzuki, or acrobatic snakes balancing balls on their heads?
>>3960092Only the fourth and fifth horses exploded and disappeared so maybe the first through third horses could have?
>>3960089This is Zohar's translation, for comparison. I think I should be able to get it working by tomorrow, if nothing goes wrong.
>>3960089The fuck
>>3960089Success must have gotten scammed and someone pretended to know jp but actually just MTLd this right? There's no way this was done by a professional.
>>3960156To me it's clear two different people translated the game."Akaiito is a Japanese adventure game. Set in the present age, the game unfolds from the point of view of Kei Hato, a girl who has a special blood called "Nieno Chi". A special system called the blood sucking system is used. This game is adventure game, users need use mouse or controller to move on the story or choose the selection. There is no complex operate in the game. Depend on your choose, the story development will change, and the fate of main character will change too. There are 32 ending in this game. 15 of them are bad ending, 12 of them are normal ending and 5 ending are true ending. After clear some root, new selection will be add, and you can see new story, this system is called “root seal”. "This is the description of the game on Steam. Nearly unintelligible, whoever wrote it is not fluent in English. And then, a paragraph below that:"After the death of her only living relative – her mother, this past summer Kei was sorting through her inheritance and learned that her father, who had already passed away, owned an old Japanese mansion in a little-known place called “Hemizuka″. Kei decides to investigatein order to determine the prospects of this forgotten homestead. On the way there, Kei has a strange dream in which a huge tree pierces the sky and a girl named Yumei appearswith a flock of butterflies. What is the legend of the mountain god and human sacrifice in Hemizumika? What is the truth of Kei‘s lost memory?Hemizuka is Kei's birthplace. When the characters come across each other, the wheels of destiny quietly begin to turn..."Not the most fluid English. But perfectly understandable.
Kei comments that Uzuki speaks in an unusual way. Does she have an accent or something? I don't hear anything other than a crazy sexy voice.
>>3957204Wait just one cotton-picking minute. I had never heard that Potionomics had yuri in it. Is that true? Have I been living under a rock?

>>3960316Yeah, female protagonist with multiple female romance options.
>>3960316anon…
>>3960316Have you been stranded on an island without internet when the game came out? We talked about it in these threads a lot.
>>3960190She talks like a character from a chambara movie to my ear. Old-fashioned.
>>3960161>After clear some root, new selection will be addDamn, old games really went "run rm -rf to progress", huh.
So Volcano Princess is proving to be kinda fun. I've never been a fan of "raising sims", but this one's gameplay is surprisingly simple and enjoyable. I finally cleared Nina, Mona and their poly routes together last night.Planning on Gwynneth next but since I've always went with Lebsa house I've never actually met her proper, so I can't boost her "friendship level" with NG+ points.Any tips on where I should put points in instead to make the playthrough easier? What's her house like? It's bluish so I'd imagine they prioritize IMG?Also I've cleared the "True End" already so I don't mind if the new build doesn't help me get it this run
Sometimes there's no voices for dialogue in Akai Ito. Has anyone else experienced this?
>>3960436You don't need to put points into affection with your NG+ bonus unless you just skip through the game like a speedrunner. Just talk to Gwyneth every day and give her presents, maybe go on dates sometimes. It's really not something that you need advice for.>It's bluish so I'd imagine they prioritize IMG?It's not blue, it's purple. It's all charisma related stuff, just like Lebsa is all stamina/fighting related and Bryan is all intelligence/science related. Ultimately the first convo with your Lord decides what kind of missions she gives you anyway.Basically with Gwyneth you will mostly get missions that ask you to get charisma related feats, which may include doing stage plays or going to balls. However all houses have missions related to battle too. After doing three playthrough like you allegedly did it should really not be hard for you to figure out how to raise your stats fast. I already mentioned before that you should prioritize your stat bonus in the NG+ shop. That's the most important thing, because raising stats is useful for everything (though the maximum bonus is merely 500 point). If you want to boost stats easier in the game you can either cook a lot or create a lot of furniture at the alchemy shop. Both give permanent stat upgrades.
>>3960450When a line overflows (there's a at end -- that's a small arrow, in case 4chan deletes my character) there will be no voice played on the continuation line. That's not to say you're missing any voicelines, just that the entire thing is being played on the first text box....if that's the issue you're having anyway, it might be something else.
>>3960452Oh and to elaborte on the personal traits Stamina/Intelligence/Charisma, you can also get bonuses for those in the NG+ shop. It gives you a maximum of 50 each which is way better than the 500 you get on study stats. With 50 you can do almost everything in the game reliably already.Raising them is a bit trickier. Basically alchemy shop potions can give you some randomly, you can get them from some food you cook and you can raise them by finishing courses at the academy.
>>3960436Fair warning, Gwyneth's knight ranks can get incredibly fucking annoying AP-wise compared to Lebsa's. "Complete these specific types of courses", "work as the bath manager 5 times", etc. So stock up on that bread.
>>3960452>After doing three playthrough like you allegedly did it should really not be hard for you to figure out how to raise your stats fast. It's really only 2 playthroughs and some savescumming at the end of #2 to get several of the obtainable endings. Both runs were at both ends of the spectrum (1st run was super hard, only STR reached A+, 2nd was super easy STR/INT/EMO all reached S, plus I as blazing through enemies like butter) so I'm not entirely sure what I did the second time around that made it that way (had paltry amount of points starting run #2), hence the asking for advice part, so that I can do that again, except faster if possible.>>3960458Thanks. This is the type of advice I wanted. I noticed I was really starving on AP food on the 2nd playthrough because I only cooked stuff that had stat boosting effects.I'll keep this in mind
>>3960453I'm playing in Japanese, so no overflowing lines (plus it's happened when there's no preceding dialogue).
>>3960458>compared to LebsaDo you really think that's more AP intensive than Lebsa asking you to go into the dang forest and slay a hundred+ demons? Every single run costs 8 AP and you can kill maybe like 20 each run on average and it is a pain in the ass on your first playthrough. Also annoying when she asked me to duel a bunch of people, which costs Patience, which you cannot recover in any way and you only have 3 points of each turn. I'd have prefered to use those for something that reliably raises affection instead.>>3960460>so that I can do that again, except faster if possibleWell I told you how now. Also in case you didn't know you can finish academic courses with the priest by exchanging fame. It's basically the only sensible way to finish most of the curriculum.
>>3960463>Do you really think that's more AP intensive than Lebsa asking you to go into the dang forest and slay a hundred+ demons?Genuinely yes. I got a lot of progression from her tasks to just kill the last boss of the area, which is something you can do with just 8 AP in a day if your party is strong enough, so stuff like "kill a lot of demons" wasn't even necessary for some ranks. I ended up finishing all tasks except for duels anyway just because I didn't have anything to spend AP on, and the extra XP was appreciated since the true ending is combat-focused. In contrast, spamming bath jobs and whatever those palace parties were called ate into my AP hard. Duels are a dumb task, admittedly. I never quite understood what made me better at them and why I was losing to a guy with literal brain damage even though I could clear every area in the forest with my eyes closed. But you don't need to finish every task to get the final badge, so I skipped them.
>>3960436Gwyneth prioritizes Charisma and EMO/IMG. You should probably have enough NG+ points to max out the bonuses for all of your stats since they aren't super expensive, so this part shouldn't really be that different from any of the other routes. Beyond that, what you spend it on is up to you. I maxed out furniture next for more early stats and perks, but I have no clue what's truly optimal. For quests, she'll ask you to raise your relevant stats, complete courses, work in the baths and the theater, and go to banquets. The first two aren't hard, you'll do them naturally, plus you'll be swimming in fame to get those courses. The others will need some AP management, but they're not too bad. The only surprising bit is that her 3rd event requires B+ STR, but that's also very easy to get to.
>>3960465>you dont need to do everything to finish the ranksExactly. This goes for every house. >the exp was useful thoughSo is doing plays or the bathhouse as those give you a lot of money, especially later on.We are talking about a first playthrough here after all. Once you accumulate bonuses in NG+ none of the houses have anything challenging.>I never quite understood what made me better at themBasically just your combat stats. If your HP is low you die fast, if your speed is low the opponent will get the first hit, which can result in them blizing you (especially Kenneth and Ze).It's a bit too RNG for my taste too. For example I beat Ze in a duel, but then in the tournament the fucker got a lucky hit in and I lost to him.Once all your stats are broken nobody stands a chance of course.
>>3960461No idea then. The next time it happens try reloading an earlier save and checking if it's always the same lines; if it's random, then I truly don't know.
>>3960473>We are talking about a first playthrough here after all. Once you accumulate bonuses in NG+ none of the houses have anything challenging. The AP costs of actions don't go down on subsequent playthroughs though. If I was doing Lebsa second, I would be just blazing through her ranks by spending 1k points to get some non-garbage starting weapon and always finishing my runs instead of dying midway. But none of the things you can spend points on really speed up Gwyneth's more annoying tasks (aside from maybe buying outfits, if it counts towards "buy 5 new outfits"). Additionally, since AP is capped at 13 and working at the bath is always 7, it adds this small annoyance of having to either have AP refills on hand or go eat/sleep/sit on a log and come back if you want to work more than once a day.
>>3960478You should be using all AP recovery methods every day anyway. Is there really anoyne who doesnt sleep in bed then sleep on the log and then buys the highest AP recovery food at the inn?Your fame and admirer gain is far better in charisma related acitvities so it makes gaining both money and fame for study courses much easier than on a Lebsa playthrough. Meanwhile the Bryan house only really cares about intelligence, alchemy and horse racing, so you get some fame and money from the races too, but you can only do it once a turn and the gain is pathetic. They want you to do alchemy which would theoretically give you stats, but the horse racing doesn't give you enough money to afford the high level alchemy items. So Bryan is definitely the first choice for a first playthrough. Gwyneth is definitely the easiest path to better stats in every regard, but getting the true ending on the first run with her is unlikely. Of course everything is possible if you micromanage well, but the beauty of this game is that while it has more stuff to manage, it generally is streamlined so that you never feel like you are wasting your time.I think the literal worst and most useless activity is playing dice games. You can only gain 100 gold max from it if you get the right upgrades on the skill tree and it costs 2 AP every time (and you still need to win which requires good dice and luck). The most use I ever got out of gathering good dice was to beat some people at the Birdie/Volcano festival. Also something that does bother me is that you cannot use the priest to beat courses if your darkness is above 50, so any dark playthroughs will severely limit your academic progres unless you wait until the late game to level darkness. Getting the Heaven Society boss ending was a pain in the ass and I didn't even try the Demon Queen ending yet.
>>3960484>Bryan is definitely the first choice for a first playthrough*not
https://files.catbox.moe/ua1t9a.zipHere it is, the original Akai Ito fan translation ported to the Remaster, just drag and drop this into the game's folder and replace everything.I tried my best to make sure all the lines match up, but this is largely untested, so there's always the possibility of something having gone wrong.I also fixed a handful of typos and untranslated lines from the original. "All routes except for the Sakuya route have been translated!", or so it claims; all the untranslated files have been replaced with the Remaster's, so everything should be in English one way or the other.Time to finally start the game.
>>3960488It would be nice if someone could say whether the fan translation was really that much better. I know it's true for Aoishiro at least, which also means it would be best if someone could do the same for that fan patch with the HD version.Either way thanks for your work.
>>3960491Not *much* better from the lines I compared, and there were even a couple cases cases where the remaster's sounded a little better. But then you also have things like this >>3960089 ...And yes, Aoi Shiro is up next. >>3960488Came here to say thanks for the patch. Not sure which translation to go with.>>3957632Didn't expect to find a fix for the resolution bug. Your patch works partially at least. In 720p res the textbox shows normally now. The backlog is still zoomed in and unusable. Do you think you can maybe fix the backlog? The dictionary thing also has a glitch. Entries in the list show zoomed in but clicking them shows the description normally and when returning to the list it's not zoomed in anymore. Clicking again on the category (Ha, Na, Ma etc.) glitches again. Not an urgent issue.
Is this new content or did I forget how daring Kei is towards Uzuki in the original game?
>>3960909Decided on the official translation for now and like it so far but>Keeki ga ii ne, Youko-chanis a weird "translation."Ran into new bugs. When Hato falls asleep on the train after mentioning the red view the screen turns black and I hear my PC working harder. Clicking once moved to the screen transition. I guessed that the OP movie plays here and thought the resolution patch broke it but using the original assembly file still shows the black box and no OP video. The gallery seems to have the OP movie on the last page and it also doesn't work there.2nd issue I noticed when switching to the original assembly file and being in 1080p res. Loading my saves made with the patched file in the unpatched one breaks the images. Broken zoomed out CGs with black outlines, weird box outlines in the centre of the CG etc. Restarted from the beginning on the unpatched file and got no graphical issues. Seems to be an incompatibility between the saves. Now if only I knew why the OP video won't play. Shouldn't be a missing or broken codec.
>>3960963Used AssetStudioGUI to extract the videos and they play in my video player. Must be the game engine then.I just noticed during my test that using the resolution patch lowers the picture quality. Top pic is the normal 1080p screenshot resized to 720p, bottom pic is 720p screenshot using the modded assembly file. Bottom is darker and has some blurring. It's more visible when pasting the pics over each other in paint. I'll play Akaito with the unmodded file and switch my resolution to 1080p when playing. Solves the backlog too.
>>3960909>>3960963>>3960971The fix only does two things: multiply some values, namely the text box size and the background size, by the dynamic resolution scale; and change the hardcoded resolution from 1920x1080 to 1366x768. If your resolution is smaller than that, it might not work.Since it looks like you're using the original version now, do you still need any of those issues addressed? I'm still hoping for an official patch, so I'm not too worried about fixing something unless it's actually affecting me or someone else here.>>3960971My guess is that the built-in image scaling is not very advanced. If you resize the original image with different interpolation methods I bet you'll find one that ends up looking just the same.

>>3960488https://files.catbox.moe/drswp2.zipIt dawned on me that I forgot to include the translation for the choices and the "flow" thingThe first one is the link above (previous TL included), as for the second, the flow/title message translation is hardcoded into the game, so I think it's best to leave it as is.It doesn't look like they're of particularly bad quality, but the fan-translated dialogue uses a different romanization system than the remaster, so you might encounter a weird name here or there.
>>3961230You're literally this guy >>3561084 3566410, so your opinion is invalid by default.
>>3961269How do you fail this badly at linking posts?
>>3960977can you do anything about the text box size? like make it do more lines of text with a smaller font?
>>3961274Yes, but:The wrap is not automatic, both the remaster and the fan-patch have manually split the dialogues that didn't fit in a single box.Through a quick script you could get rid of all the wraps, and you can also scale the font down, if that's what you're getting at. But there's no guarantee the scale you choose will be small enough and you'd likely miss some text along the way (there's some BIG dialogues).
>>3961273>copium ad typo
>>3961276Adding manually split lines to the PS2 version's script was pretty easy because EN characters are all fixed width. I'd experimented with replacing the font with multi-character glyphs, but it didn't look right.Manual line splitting doesn't make sense on the Unity version, because it supports variable width text and word wrapping. Well, I think it does because sometimes the backlog's word wrap causes messages to overflow, making it unreadable. The approach I'd take to determine what is an appropriate font size would be to print every line in the game using the game's font, determine the longest N lines, then size the game textbox (and font size) to fit that text. It's hard to predict which line of text will overflow given wrap boundaries are different for each line.
>>3961286Hmmm, true, there is in fact automatic word-wrapping even on the text box.I think it might be possible to detect when a line overflows and then automatically downsize the font only for that particular text box, what do you think of that solution?
>>3961300As long as I can get rid of "unclean" line breaks that destroy readability, I'll be happier ^_^;Incidentally I think the way word wrap is implemented is probably why they do manual wrapping. The word stays on the current line until a character causes it to overshoot the right side of the text box, causing it to move to the next line while the characters are being printed. This looks ugly.To contrast, Katahane checks each word before it's printed to determine whether it will fit on the current line, or need to be on the next line to avoid wrapping.
>>3961302To be clear, the wrapping is all done on Unity's side, the game doesn't really do anything more than giving it text to display. If only the unclean lines bother you, a much simpler solution but in the same vein would be to just manually fix them; I bet you can detect them pretty easily by looking at punctuation/capitalization, and once you do that you can decrease the text size through script commands so it fits inside a single box. Would require a bit of manual testing but there can't be more than a couple dozen cases.

>>3960156This, to be honest, looks like a case of the translator not knowing English rather than not knowing Japanese. I wouldn't be surprised if some in-house line manager who happens to know English was tasked to do this.
>>3961387You have to really not know English to mix up horses and snakes though.
>>3961396When you're writing in a foreign language it's very easy to make mistakes like this. When I try to write in Japanese my brain just can't constantly keep track of the entire sentence, so when I re-read it I often notice strange mistakes. Mixing up horses and snakes is weird, but stranger things can happen. There was just clearly no QC at all involved there.
Makes me curious how a shovelware developer/publisher like Success ended up creating two yuri VNs, both of which also seem to have production quality that's on the higher end of the medium. Was it just a passion project by someone there? If so, then who?
>>3961668These are ancient PS2 era games. The devs were different back then and these games are actually on the lower spectrum of yuri. >>3961671>lower spectrum of yuriWhat? I consume yuri content nonstop but these games still make me blush with how gay they are. Akai Ito, especially.
>>3961694Akai is definitely the gayer one of the two, but you must be exaggerating. Especially if you really consume that much yuri.

Has anyone managed to do Sakuya's route yet? I've tried a bunch of choice combinations that I saw on internet, but I can't go to her route. I've already got Uzuki's true end, are there more seals?
>>3961818I want to know this too. All walkthrough's I found are incomplete.
>>3961842After playing a little, I found out Sakuya has 2 seals. 1 is Uzuki's true ending. As for the other, I'm not 100% sure. A jp walkthrough says it's one of Tsuzura's bad endings (messenger of the serpent god, or something like that), but after getting it, I still had the seal. Then I went on a spree of clicking everything and managed to unlock the second seal. I don't remember all the choices, but I know some of them were "mhh?" (on the snake scene) ->[the choices that go to the museum] -> don't eavesdrop on Uzuki and the other dude talking -> (I forgot if I chose to go to the fireworks with Sakuya or without her). It resulted on that bad ending where the twins attack Kei and Tsuzura inside the well. Then bam, seal unlocked. So I have no idea if Tsuzura's bad ending is a requirement or not.
>>3961855Great, I got the seal! I made one different choice, but still got it. Now let's see if I can luck out on the path to true end.
Alright the new Volcano Princess update is out. The relevant things for us are the updated Lebsa plot/romance and the new poly ending with Gwyneth and Mona. Here is what the devs said about getting the secret improved Lebsa:>A. The story scene has been modified. More explanations and details have been added to the plot to make the story happen more reasonable. More than 10 drawings are added for this modification.>B. Added a special romance ending with Lebsa: Gain 10 hearts, accept 3 invitations from Lebsa, and choose the right option in her special scene, the special romance ending with Lebsa will occur at the end.Basically the old romance ending will still exist as far as I understand, but you can now get a "true" romance ending for her. I'm stoked to find out what the changes to the True Ending are too.As for Gwyneth/Mona, you know the drill. Get their affections to 10 hearts, do all their events and have them be the two highest characters on the affection list in your notebook....or you can just marry Nina for the 5th time again. That is also good.
>>3962113What the heck? Yeah I'm pretty sure that the fortune teller lady did NOT use to just spell it out like this. Straight up tells you not to get close to him now. There were always hint about it before, but if this is how explicit they wanna get then it does take away all the subltety.
>>3962200That's not new, she says the exact same thing in v1.0.21.
>>3962320The line after that though is way more explicit as far as I remember.
>>3962404WTF?!
>>3962404Ah yes, the mandatory cliff scene. Aoishiro has that too
>>3962413I couldn't believe how dumb Kei was to get herself in this situation. She was so, so, so stupid. But the result was incredibly satisfying. I was starting to be worried Sakuya wouldn't be able to make Kei wet like Uzuki does. But oh boy, was I wrong. Suspension bridge effect is the real deal.>>3962449whose route?
>>3962507Kohaku's Though it was a little less ridiculous than Akaiito's
This game is so hard! I've tested all choices from wait and what can you do about it after Tsuzura runs off to not meet Uzuki and they all lead to either Sakuya or Kei dying horribly at the hands of Nushi. I wonder how far back do I have to go back and change choices to get the true ending.
https://itch.io/b/1813/queer-games-bundle-2023-pay-what-you-can-editionGuaranteed to contain a ton of trash but there may be some cute yuri games lurking in here too.
Sakuya's route suffered the same curse as Uzuki's. After the flashback-dream that explains how Sakuya's tribe sealed Nushi, the translation went to hell. No horses this time, but it's still hard to understand what's going on. Like in this screenshot they translated Odzunu's name to Yakuza.
I got the updated True Ending in Volcano Princess (but on the Gwyneth route, so I didn't romance Lebsa). The changes are probably for the better, but it's still a bit confusing. So the new ending doesn't have Lebsa transform into Asbel and she straight up says that she does NOT have his memories or personality. Just his will to become eternal/godlike compels her. But she also still says that he replaced her soul, so it should technically still be him. Why else would twin Rose's remaining soul and voice be nuisance to Lebsa? She is clearly still possessed, but I guess it really is more Asbel's will overwriting the original soul, which created a completey new person: Lebsa. The ending also seems to clarify that Asbel was not a demon, but just a powerful human who didn't want to die and sought god like powers through these magic stones, which the Volcano Goddess uses to derive power too.Long story short though, this sort of gets rid of some of my major grievances with the Lebsa route. And after defeating her and when mom destroys Lebsa's body she has a talk with Perfect Rose's divine spirit and says destroying the body was actually unecessary and she just did it in a fit of rage. Which I assume means if you romance Lebsa, Rose will prevent her from destroying the body depending on your choice.Side-note, I like how this makes it so that even if you don't romance Lebsa you get to see her without the mask. Of course that could also be a negative, because it felt more like a reward for pursuing her before.
>>3961855>After playing a little, I found out Sakuya has 2 seals. 1 is Uzuki's true ending.Damn. There is still so much work ahead of me.
>>3963005Okey. I changed one choice and to my surprise I got true Uzuki's ending. Now I'm wondering whose path to take. Yumei's or Sakuya's.
>>3963032Official sites usually recommend playing Yumei's first because it has more answers
I did finally get what appears to be Sakuya's true ending (as well as a bunch of bad endings that broke my spirit). But I thought it was a bit abrupt. I'll play later again to see if I just didn't understand it well and I'll post the choices I made. From what I remember right now, you have to go find Sakuya because you're feeling a blood connection with her or something, then interfere in what you see Uzuki doing, then later you pick the option that leaves Uzuk alone and go with Sakuya to fight the boy. But there are a bunch of choices in the fight and I can't remember which ones lead to TE now. So do a bunch of saves.
>>3962960Doesn't seem that changed to me, also I'm pretty sure you would get to see Lebsa's face even in other routes on true end, even if not on a CG. Wonder if anyone's gonna spoil how it goes in the romance route, can't say I'm too interested in seeing it if it's not confirmed 100% yuri after whatever happens. seems unlikely considering it would be incest at that point.I'll give a check on gwyneth/mona myself, have a save file that should be one hang out to get it.
>>3963114Didn't really add context as I was hoping for, but it's neat.
>>3963110I just got her true ending, but I made a few different choices. In my playthrough I followed the "blood connection" thing, interrupted the Uzuki vs male-Kei fight, Kei got cut and fainted, then when she woke up Nozomi and Mikage had already been killed. So Uzuki comes along for the final fight, and it's real Nushi instead of the boy.I don't know if it's the same ending you got, but it felt abrupt as well. I know her route has a normal ending called something like "Onikiri of oni" that was popular among the fans. It's also related to that mini game in Aoishiro. As for the ending I got, despite feeling too short, it had a lot of cool things. Sakuya's interactions with Uzuki were great, and it was amazing when Uzuki got her sword broken just to protect the other 2. And I found Sakuya's power levels interesting, she is usually weaker than other Mizuki people, but no debuff during new Moon and gets a crazy power up sometimes. That's a nice trade off, it makes her badass, but not broken. And oni Sakuya looks too hot, that abs...
>>3962837I scrolled through the entire list of almost 450 items and didn't even find 5 games that looked remotely promising. Can't even make it to be 1% worth it. It would be better just buying any game you are interested in individually so the creator actually got money for it.
>>3963232I saw a few things that were interesting, but those were either free anyways, or Ladykiller in a Bind.
>>3963244>Ladykiller in a BindNow that's a name I haven't heard in a while.
>>3963114>Doesn't seem that changed to meAnon, it is night and day in some aspects. They didn't just give more context, they retconned everything about Lebsa. The fact that she doesn't retain Asbel's personality or memories and also doesn't transform into him make everything about her as a character better. She is her own person and that was my most major concern.>I'm pretty sure you would get to see Lebsa's face even in other routes on true endYou misunderstood me. I meant that you never got to see her face during the true ending in the original game pre-patch. The literal only time her face is without mask (or shadows) is in her third bonding event on her route.>romance endingI am working on it next. Just got the GwynMona poly ending. But the incest shouldn't be a hurdle. Even if Rose didn't know, she still could totally marry Lebsa in the old ending, so the devs don't seem to care about incest. Also I like how a lot of context clues were in plain sight all game. I'm still curious about how the Heaven Society actually connects to it all. You only interact with them if you go towards darkness or challenge them in the Alleys.
>>3962837>LesbiAnts>advertised as a game about ants>when ants start making out they turn into girlsMy disappointment is immeasurable. >>3963267Please name your horse something other than Egg.
>>3963267Beat you to the punch, anon.In the romance with Lebsa version of the true ending, the problem of incest is solved by essentially treating Lebsa and Rose's twin as two souls inhabiting a single body, with Lebsa developing feelings for Rose leading to her defeat. After that you can decide if Lebsa deserves to get punished. If not, you get the old romance ending with her, if yes, the new one.
>>3963232I just quickly scrolled through them and there appears to be a few typical yuri VNs in there. Though admittedly the one about homoerotic Victorian letterwriting caught my attention right away. It's homo (male) but I might read it anyway because I love that shit.
>>3963178>oni Sakuya looks too hot,Super agreed.I wanted the ending you mentioned, which I heard has Kei becoming badass. I got the same ending you did too when she wakes up later. In the end, they move in together but Kei is still just human. By the way, the Akai ito fix is bugged in Yumei's route to true ending. About the time when Nozomi attacks Kei, the sentences shift so we first hear what they say but the writing onscreen is still the narration before the speech. From then on the onscreen text is always late by a line (though I haven't gotten far enough to see if this changes later).
>>3963435I don't see how the fix could cause that, it sounds like a translation issue. If you could post one of the lines word-by-word then it'd be easier to find the file in question and check if there's anything wrong there.
>>3963304Hey, I just used the default names the game gave me. This is the same game where the default name for the dad is "Wood".>>3963331Ohh that's pretty nice. I had hoped for something like that. Still incest though. I find it weird how you can get the old ending by just letting her get off easy. Oh well, time to get that ending myself.
>>3963459When the fight scene was close to end, it got normal again. I have no idea why. Later I'll try to play the part again and see if it persists.
Done my first run of Akai Ito. Kei died to being sucked off by the twins it's awesome. I like Success style VNs: lots of choices with unpredictable consequences. Though... are twins romancable or at least Nozomi? They are cool, probably my fav characters so far. It's rare to have interesting twins. But i've seen there are 5 true endings which means Sakuya, Yumei, Utsuki are guaranteed to have one, there is also an elementary schooler, a possibility of some bullshit ultimate harem route... Yeah, chances are slim.Compared to Aoi Shiro there are upsides and downsides. Akai Ito has better atmosphere and mystery. Also overall character roster. But Shyoko is much better character compared to Kei. Proactive, has guts. Kei is naive, nauseously sweet damsel in distress. Though it's perfectly explained why is that the case. I played Aoi Shiro many years ago though and might remember poorly. That time I finished only Nami, vampire-ghost and monke-exorcist routes while desperately trying to jump on Kohaku route and failing. Also, thank you anon who brought here the resolution patch!
>>3963466The various routes jump around files very frequently. What likely happened is that a line was off... somewhere and when that file ended things went on as normal. That's why I asked for it word-by-word, it's hard to tell what happens where otherwise. I've been collecting little mistakes as I play through the game and when I'm done I'll make sure everything is fixed, so if you ever get around to replaying that part do give a shout.
>>3963467Shouko may have guts but she's not shamelessly gay like Kei-chan. So Kei is my favorite protagonist.
>>3963467>are twins romancableYes, that's the secret route. It's been a long time since I read it, but it was kinda cute, I liked it.
>>3963493Why would you pick the worst of all lines as an example?
>>3963493> Uzuki is a beautyKei likes what she sees> Kei-kun could appeal to some audienceKei is not impressed herselfThat's a line that tells us how her mind works. But you're free to pick any others from the game. There's no shortage of her fondness for girls.
>>3963518oopsie meant for >>3963502
>>3963518Which makes it even more questionable that you picked this one then. Because in this context this is a worthless statement. "She is pretty and so is the dude" is not a particularly gay line. Just try harder next time anon.
>>3963525NTA, but I read the line as the POV character (presumably a girl, I haven't played those two games) having an interest in Uzuki, but not Kei."He could appeal to an audience, I guess" is the 'participation trophy' of comments.
>>3963532"She is a beauty after all" is not an inherently gay statement whatsoever when said by a girl either. This is all retarded because it's a fucking yuri game with explicit romantic love. We don't need any proof the goddamn main character is gay. But if someone is this desperate to show it off, then why pick probably the least gay line possible? That was my only concern.
>>3963535>Questionable>ConcernDude, take your meds. I wasn't even trying to show Kei is gay. I was showing why I like her more as a protag than Shouko. It was a line I --randomly-- picked as I had the game running, not a line I carefully selected because I don't need to. Kei is just like that. Always describing the girls in a way that her attraction for them is clear, particularly Uzuki who she gwaks at since the first minute. To a lesser degree also Nozomi, Sakuya and Yumei. She's always doing this stuff and sometimes it catches me off guard and I chuckle. That's why I like her. Shouko makes me sleepy because she's too serious even in her thoughts. I don't hate her though.
>>3963586>randomly picked>specifically to show I like herIdiot.
>>3963103Thanks

Perfection exists and her name is Yumei.By the way, things get steamy enough between them that Tsuzura and Sakuya admit it was a confession and it's going in a certain direction different from family. Fucking perfect!
New thread needed sometime. Anything interesting coming up other than the same old sales?

>>3964610>Sweet and sour and painful--a love story to forget each other's loved onesThere's going to be a yaya that's way more attractive and interesting than the main love interest, and there's going to be no way to end up with her, and I'm going to hate it. I can feel it in my bones.
>>3963821>Perfection exists and her name is YumeiWe will see if this is true.
>>3964620Just by looking at the art I feel like it's "moving on from someone in your past" than NTR.

Been playing the Metal Gear series; I originally played it for the /y/ friendliness people told me about (it's true) but I was surprised that Peacewalker had alot of /u/ that I enjoted. Playing V now, makes me so fucking angry. I could barely tolerate Strangelove giving Huey a chance, because gay people were forced to marry in the 70's all the time, and I think it's mentioned Strangelove was already being relentlessly tormented at every workplace, but I'm so fucking angry at what he did to her. At least she protected Hal :( Would have been an amazing grandmother to Sunny....
>>3964855That's the second most fucked up part ; she did jack shit. Huey regained possession of little Hal, abused him, and then when his wife pretty much raped him as a teenager, he tried to kill his step-daughter.
>>3964855>>3964869This is not /u/ relevant Go back to /y/ you freaky crossboarder. Don't mistake a gay character existing for it being on topic.Anons who like both BL and GL are the worst. They can never keep their shit together.
>>3964874The schizo poster is back.
>>3964880No, the crossboarders are. Read the rules. Your posts are off-topic.
>>3964855Solid snake should've been a girl. Imagine the gay tension with The Boss.
>>3964911>Solid snake should've been a girl. Imagine the gay tension with The Boss. Those two characters never met, anon.
>>3964926Oh, naked snake or whatever his name was then. They're all the same anyway.
Never expected to see (even) subtext in a HoI4 mod but here we are.
