The story setup is questionable at best. People are also just not used to this style of storytelling. They attempt writing in a gacha, when 99% of gacha do not have such a thing and are generally in your face. "Show don't tell" is a good approach. But it doesn't help the game that it tries to set up too much at once. I wasn't overwhelmed myself, but I've read stories outside of games as well.I quit somewhere in chapter 2, so 3 might get better there, but I'd rate it at best 5/10 until then. Okay for a gacha, especially given the presentation making the average story stand out, but the in my opinion awful gameplay was an easy deal breaker. One of those games I would've liked to like, but really can't.

Towa Tsugai story update 2-3-2. Still stuck in the sand witch's magical realm.The twins make up. Not much to say than it's exceedingly cute. Suzume promises to one day be strong enough to tell Enaga she loves her, before she dies. Please stop setting flags.Suzume also sort of touches on the idea that the sand witch's power isn't to wear you down, but force you to confront your weakness and make you stronger.Tsubame, Mozu, Hachidori, and Tsuru meet up. The sand witch basically has no effect on any of them because they're all lost causes. Mozu says she can't remember whose voice she heard, which is surely a lie but that's Mozu for you. Ever since learning she murdered Komadori it feels like she's someone who gave up all hope in life, so it's not like she can get dragged down further. She does get curious who Tsubame heard, who wistfully says it was a nostalgic voice, of someone she won't get to see again. It's definitely Komadori, but if you think about it it's a real testament to Tsubame's character. Every voice tears the person down with their deepest insecurities. Tsubame's so committed to remaining positive that despite whatever Komadori told her, just hearing Komadori lets her put on a brave face.Hachidori hears people getting mad at her for hitting them and hardly cares. Tsuru hears her mom, who she shows a lot of disdain towards and says wasn't worth listening to. Then the sand changes tactics. Reminder that Tsuru is a huge siscon. Tsuru hears her sister asking "Did you kill mom too?" and instantly breaks down. If the implication is that she's responsible for her sister's death, holy shit. She did lose it from the moment she heard her sister's voice. But either way Tsuru clearly has a lot of skeletons in her closet. Hachidori of course comforts her by hitting Tsuru as hard as she can and telling her not to disappoint her like this again. What a couple of lovebirds. It does get Tsuru back to her usual self though.

She does whatever her "mom", the commander says, and only whatever the commander says. Taka is about as rough and assertive as I first expected Karasu to be. She's singlemindedly fixated on Kamome and clearly knows her from their past life, painfully upset at what she's become. Taka worked out a deal with the commander to become Kamome's 'master' instead, promising to be the one to save her. Though she has a real drill sergeant attitude about it. Not showing much tenderness to Kamome yet.I liked the speculation Kamome would get paired with a super genki girl, maybe even an ex-idol since Fukurou and Hakuchou were fans of the same idol group? But I like this relationship too so far.
